Larry hann is the best ... was in St. John’s for work ..so booked myself on a short tour of 2-3 hours that too last minute... but Larry made it so much fun, he was so knowledgeable about every place, a proud Newfoundlander and made the overall trip so much fun ... now I am determined to vacation here and soon ???????????? Recommend the tour and the tour guide to anyone looking to explore St. John’s ... you won’t regret it ... And in Larry’s words “there is no point in being in a new place if you don’t know the history of the place”

We enjoyed a tour with Larry on August 5. He was extremely knowledgeable, a wonderful storyteller with à witty sense of humour. We followed up on two of his suggestions: we went back to Cape Spear in the evening as he had seen them the evening before and were blessed to see several. We allo went to a wonderful restaurant he recommended. Highly recommended.

Francis Corrigan, our tour leader, and Audrey, our bus driver, were absolutely wonderful people and true professionals in performing their duties during the trip. What a gem Mr. McCarthy is! You could tell he loved his city and his job, we thoroughly enjoyed the St. John's city tour, even with our four year old in tow. Got to knock out so many sites in one shot, with lots of fun trivia. Would love to try other party tours they offer.

The half day St John's tour should DEFINITELY be on anyone's itinerary when visiting St John's for the first time! We got to see all the beautiful spots in and around the area, and our tour guide Larry Hann topped it all off with his rich knowledge of the province! A great experience, and when we're back in St John's, we will definitely be taking one of the many other tours offered by McCarthy's Party and Tours!

My Mom and I Did the St. John’s & area 1/2 day tour w Larry yesterday and the full day tour Around the Bay (Conception Bay, Holyrood, Brigus) w Carl today. Wonderful! Sightseeing is so much better when you understand the history and context of what you’re seeing. Plus McCarthy’s guides or ‘hosts’ are a hoot! Just do it!

One of the best tour groups you'll find. I traveled solo and found a person picking me up at the airport driving me to the hotel. Locals run and are the guides who include stories of growing up and living in Newfoundland. We enjoyed music and dancing almost every night with our guide. We had meals at local restaurants with local foods, excellent. I feel we got to know the real Newfoundland and we even got to Labrador. Use McCarthy's if you're going to Newfoundland, you won't be disappointed.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 12 day comprehensive tour with guide Tom Hounsell and driver Gary. Traveling with Tom was like having a family member or good friend take you on a tour of his home province. He shared his knowledge of different areas in a relatable, often humorous, yet informative way. Both Tom and Gary made every effort to ensure we had a great trip. Kudos to Andrew McCarthy for arranging an evening of beautful music and great laughs by Sharon Wiseman & friends at the Flyers Club in Gander. Do not miss this if you have a chance to see it!

Phenomenal tour of Newfoundland!! My mom and I took the 12 day comprehensive tour of Newfoundland and Labrador in June 2019. We had an incredible time and learned so much about this beautiful province. Our tour guide Peter is from Newfoundland and gave us so much insight into the history, traditions and culture of the people who live here. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone considering a bus tour around Newfoundland. Our coach driver Ken was also fantastic and took us into some really tight spots so we could enjoy spectacular views. The accommodations were perfect and it was lovely to enjoy local food at local establishments. I thought the tour was a terrific value considering all we got to see and do. If you want to see the most of Newfoundland, learn a lot along the way and have a super fun time as well I highly recommend going with the locals at McCarthys.
