We've been out with Island Quest Marine twice and will definitely continue to use them in the future. The staff is friendly, the captain is engaging, and the vessel is perfect so whale watching. We've seen numerous whales each time we've been out.
(Translated) Very kind. But you don't really see whales. See one or two in the distance. Better the small boat (Original) מאד אדיבים. אבל לא באמת רואים ליוויתנים. רואים אחד או שניים מרחוק. עדיף את הסירה הקטנה
Great staff and a lovely end to my family vacation...
Super fun. Great for all ages.
Beautiful day for whale watching. Very professional and knowledgeable captain and crew (marine biologists) all with lots of knowledge and stories of this beautiful place. Saw lots of porpoises, whales and sea birds. Enjoyed the sea creature touch experience. This is a highly rated tour
Great food and great local beers
Amazing experience would suggest for everyone to try
Such a great experience!
The kids and I had a great time. Saw some minke whales, seals and porpoises. Went out at somewhat low tide and when we came back there was a huge difference. We took some photos of whales and such on phone but would suggest a real camera as they look far away.
Great place for whale watching. Very knowledgeable staff. Great vessel. All around fun time. Highly recommended
Worth the $$!!! From end-2-end, experience was amazing. Saw 3 fin whales, lots of minke's, some purposes and even seals on the way back. My wife and I have been wanting to do this for a long time, and are sorry we didn't do this sooner. Highly recommended for couples, not so much for young kiddos : ) Words don't do the experience justice...that's why I have included pictures. Cost was around $160 for 2 adults. Length of trip was just over 3 hours. Worth every penny.
This was a great tour. We saw a few whales, birds, and other mammals from an ecologically respectful distance which I'm happy about. I brought my big camera and lense. Pictures were easy to take. I like their boat because you can take shelter if for any reason you need it from sun or rain. My good camera was sheltered if anything should come up. I took pictures from the fly bridge and main level, easily.
We saw whales.
Lots of fun
Great trip and super friendly staff made this a great adventure.
wonderful cruise nice nice clean boat and friendly staff, we had a beautiful day and seen whales and other wildlife, highly recommended
Great whale watching experience! Awesome and knowledgeable crew. Affordable.
A fantastic experience, worth the money spent
A fantastic experience. The crew consisted of the captain and two marine biologists who were extremely knowledgeable about the whales and other sea creatures along our several hour journey. We saw wales, porpoises, sea birds, eagles and seals. Well worth the trip.
Loved it!
Great experience
A really great crew and very knowledgeable. Our first time whale watching and it was a very enjoyable day. We saw whales, porpoise and seals. The crew answered any questions we had and they described the area we were in and gave information of all areas we visited. Definitely will be back next time with Island Quest Marine.
Great company for going whale watching. Zodiac boat are the best
Educational!
Lovely experience! Fun crew.
The whales were all over the place. Come out on a sunny day. The boat ride was good for the kids and the staff were very helpful.
Great experience the guides were very helpful and friendly and informative
Fun, we enjoyed our selfies!!
Island Quest went well above and beyond in accommodating us in scheduling our tour. The trip was amazing! The captain and biologist crew were all very knowledgeable and made sure we had every possible opportunity to view the whales, seals, and porpoises out that day. We also saw, and had expertly explained, many other sites over the nearly three hours... well worth the $! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
(Translated) I did the excursion with the sailboat. No uphill sail. Everything is done with the engine. We have been at sea for more than three hours. The captain did his best but no whales. The crew, although friendly, speaks exclusively in English. I find this a bit deplorable given that we are in a bilingual country. Still a nice boat ride.
Very friendly crew. Beautiful views of the bay and wildlife.
It was a great experience the staff and captain were awesome we saw lots of whales
Nature is nature and it doesn’t always cooperate. BUT THIS TIME IT DID. Had an amazing time, we saw LOTS of harbour dolphins and humpback whales! They put on a show that’s for sure! I would share more pictures but I was too busy watchcing it happen! The Crew was also awesome, they had 2 biologist on board and a great captian! Super friendly and informative! They definitely love what they do! How can you not?? And we had snacks on the way back #bonus
Small boat with a big attitude! 14 people allowed on the upper deck, washroom on board, and beautiful scenery all around.
Wé had a great time capitaine was fantastique To find some whales
The whole family loved it! Great views of Fundy bay. well worth the price for a once in a lifetime activity. The staff was really courteous. I would suggest not to bring children younger than 7 years old unless you plan to spend your entire time on the lower deck inside the cabin. Also bring clothes that breaks the wind, you will most likely need them on the water.
Awesome way to see some beautiful scenery ans WHALES!
A wonderful Whale Watching Experience. We planned to go to Saint Andrew's for one thing and one thing only, Whale Watching! We decided to go with "Island Quest Marine Whale and Wildlife Cruises" because of some wonderful reviews from Google Reviews. We headed out bright and early in the morning. The boat ride was nice and calm, and the staff was friendly. The whales were feeding and not really showing off for us, which is normal for whales being up here, which they come here to feed, not for the humans. We saw a lot of whale fins, which was really cool. Every once in a while, they would come up to the boat, but never really come out. We had seen a big pod of seals hanging out on top of the rocks. We will certainly have to go back in August at some point, which is apparently when the whales are more active. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely fantastic time taking a tour to see whales.
Amazing experience
Amazing experience!!! We saw so many whales and seals during this trip. It takes about an hour on the boat to get to where the whales hangout but once you get there it's so worth it. Would definitely recommend!
They were very friendly and the day was awesome! I would go back and bring some friends! I would of liked to see more whales but over all I had an excellent experience! Make sure you dress warm! Buy a sweater or Jacket befor you go! Have a great adventure!
Completely unprofessional and unacceptable disregard for federal laws when booking with a disability
The Marine biologists were awesome. They really engaged the kids with sea creatures. We got to see a couple of finback whales but lots of porpoises. Overall, it was a great experience. I highly recommend it.
This is a great place to take kids, the view is amazing and a fun day out.
(Translated) Nice trip in search of whales. We have seen several. Obviously each spin is a movie in itself. The organizers certainly cannot guarantee the presence of whales. However, the probability of seeing them is very high. (Original) Bella gita alla ricerca delle balene. Ne abbiamo viste diverse. Ovviamente ogni giro è un film a se. Gli organizzatori non possono certo garantire la presenza delle balene. Tuttavia la probabilità di vederle è molto alta.
Was super skeptical about it at the start since they were not ranked at the top & were in fact a couple of $$ more than what others had to offer. However, i just felt the time slot was perfect for us & i took it. To my surprise, it was a very interactive, pleasant, informative & a fun filled trip. My family & my lil daughter loved it!! The captain was awesome as well!! Keep it going guys... Try not to loose the enthusiasm over the years!! :) :)
Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, boat was comfortable and had lots of room. We saw Minke whales, harbour porpoise and some seals on our trip. They provided a snack and a beverage on the trip back to shore. Highly recommend taking a sweater or jacket, as it does get chilly on the water, even on warm days inland.
Whale watching at its finest s good prices, friendly staff
We got a cancellation on the day but recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. The whale watching was very successful and the crew knowledgeable. We were on the 5pm boat and their advice to take a sweater or coat should be heeded.
Went on a tour with island quest and what I have to say is that we really enjoyed ourselves! The boat wasn't too crowded, you could go inside, on the rear deck or on the roof to enjoy. We saw fin whales, minky whales, porpoise, Salmon farms and bald eagles! On the way back they offered Salmon pate and iced tea which was refreshing. Highly recommend the island quest and it's friendly team!
Had a whale of a time. Our marine biologist cried when the hump back swam under the boat
It was fun to see a bunch if things, not only whales
It was a very good tour. Losts of whales were spotted many close to the boat.
We went out whale watching with Island Quest and it was an amazing trip and experience. The service is excellent and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The two young ladies on the boat with us kept my daughter entertained with their knowledge of the sea and she really learnt a lot from them. This is great value for money and we are definitely going to be doing this trip again!
Great whale watching experience. Pleasant staff. The boat was not overcrowded. Safety was their main concern. Highly recommended.
Spent the weekend in St.Andrews and did the whale watching tour first time what a fantastic and enjoyable breathtaking experience and adventure. The best!! Thanks to the captain and the 2 great tour guides.
Awesome crew. They brought us right to the whales.
I love the view on the boat. Sadly we didn't see many whales, but there were a few sightings of seals and dolphins.
Amazing experience from start to finish. Front desk, biologists, and captain incredibly knowledgeable professional and fun. Saw whales, seals, bald eagle, etc. Great experience for whole family and good to support this local small family business.
Great experience with the ability to go on to the top deck and get an unrestricted view for using the camera. There is a washroom on board. On the way back they also brought out some crab pate and crackers, as well as a drink of iced tea. Note however that there are public washrooms across the road, but they close after 17:00. Can’t really add anything else that hasn’t been said before.
Once a year I get out on water wish it were more
Had an amazing experience with Island Quest! Hands down worth every penny spent! Me, boyfriend and daughter (3 years old) couldn't have had a better experience. We saw minke whales, seals, baby seals and porpoises. The crew were great, informative and were super friendly. Highly recommend, even for the kids!
If you want to go whale watching you won't miss them with this crew.
Island Quest was fantastic. Everyone was super friendly, the boat and facilities were clean and well kept! The marine biologist, Nicole Leavitt, pointed out so many things that most tours would miss. In addition to seeing several minky whales, we saw 2 fin back whales (the second largest species in the world) several porpoises, seals, a salmon farm and herring/sardine weir! I would absolutely recommend taking this tour if you are in beautiful St Andrews.
Totally amazing experience Oct 7 2016. Our Captain took us to an area popular for whale sightings...then the amazing happened! A large humpback decided to be curious and surfaced alongside our boat. The patience of the crew was amazing as "our whale " decided to thoroughly check us out. ..raising his full head from the water inches from our boat and then slow diving under the boat with his tale on one side and head on the other. We were extra time enjoying this friendly behaviour because there was no way our Captain would restart the boat engines with "our whale " leaning against the props almost like he was "getting a back scratch". He eventually lifted his enormous tale for the perfect photo! A smooth ride back to St Andrews by the Sea with all aboard so happy to share this special interaction with a great humpback whale.
That was nice but cold. Take warm blankets with you or jackets. Temperature drops so low in the sea.
Great trip. Saw whales, porpoises, Eagles and more. Dean was a great guide
Lovely staff, great commentary, we even saw whales! Spectacular views along the way and well worth the cost. Nice little gift shop at the end too if you want a souvenirs.
It was a really nice trip. Highly recommended.
(Translated) No whales found despite extensive search. Nothing to see and hear about the whale guarantee, unfortunately! (Original) Trotz ausgiebiger Suche keine Wale entdeckt. Von der Walgarantie war nichts zu sehen und hoeren, leider!
Nice crew. We had a great whale watching trip, however it was a cold afternoon. Make sure you have some warm clothes on. There are fun activities for children. Coffee is expensive and it tastes like water. The free soup offered on board is good though.
First of all, I thought it was all luck whether you could really see whales, but no, it was all skills. The captain was chasing the whales all over the bay. secondary, I was surprised that we got treats on the cruise, there were cookies, smoked salmon and lemon tea! Thirdly, kids got ocean biology class and they touched sea stars and other creatures in the ocean. it was exciting! highly recommended!
Well organized, not too many passengers which allowed you to walk around. Not much whale action though. Not the company's fault.
Great hosts, clean comfortable boat and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed being out on the water seeing whales, seals etc. Definitely something you should do at least once.
Very friendly and accommodating crew. We saw whales, porpoises, seals. Weather cooperated too!
Always have a terrific adventure and always go back when I'm in New Brunswick. They are the best.
Great staff and great tour! We had so many sightings and the staff were really knowledgeable about the marine life. Enjoyable and educational. Overall, a fantastic experience!
Great experience. One more great experience of our NB tour Informative and entertaining tour. Captain and crew was amazing, friendly, and informative. Our family enjoy a lot. Will recommend to our friends. Love NB
Guaranteed whale sighting and they didn't miss. Knowledgeable and fun staff. Worth the money
Friendly knowledgeable staff. Really worked to get us whale sightings which we did!
AWESOME experience! Saw several whales! Staff was very knowledgeable and passionate about their work. Highly recommend!
Absolute worst customer service experience I’ve had in the entire east coast. My time here has been so wonderful until I had the “pleasure” of dealing with Island Quest. I have made a point of telling friends and family of this awful experience for when they visit St Andrews.
Great experience, well protected cabin, Captain was top notch.
Guaranteed to see whales in August. Saw about 25
(Translated) I loved the experience! (Original) J'ai adoré l'expérience!
Loved it
Nice boat ride, Good staff and marine biologist on the boat, but whales are rarely visible.
Had an awesome time! We took 6 of our children and they all had fun. We saw lots of minkes and porpoises. Seals and learned a lot along the way. The crew was beyond wonderful.
Had an amazing time as we did get to see some whales and the staff were wonderful and great with the kids
We were a party of 14 visiting St. Andrew's. We took a tour on Saturday August 15.The tour was amazing. Our tour guide/ marine biologist Jo was super friendly and answered all of our many questions.Could not have had a better trip. Would recommend highly and will definitely do it again.
Got to see all three species of whales! Minke, Finback, and a Humpback! As well as harbour porpoises and seals!
Islands Quest is absolutely the best!
Island Quest Whale Watching helped me check off a bucket list item this week. I love whale watching, and my husband and I have done quite a bit of it. We were planning to be RVing in the New Brunswick area and decided to book a whale watching trip with Island Quest. On the day we went, we got to see 4 species of whales – minke, fins, humpback and a RIGHT WHALE. I have so wanted to see a right whale. It finally happened, and I am so happy. Island Quest runs a great family operation. We enjoyed all aspects of our afternoon and recommend it to anyone who enjoys whale watching.
The boat ride was nice but we did not see any whales on this trip. We did see seals, porpoises and a variety of birds and light houses. We travelled several hours do this trip as the website "Guaranteed" whale sightings, so was a bit disappointed. They offer another free tour to compensate, but considering we are not from the area and will probably not visit again, it was not useful for us.
We did the Whale watch tour! It was great! Saw two Humpback whales. Also a bunch of porpoises. The tour boat is very comfortable and stable. Captain and crew full of info. Great to take family. Would do it again in a heart beat!
Great tours! Wonderful staff!
We didn’t see a single whale. My kids and we were so sad. They should have returned our money but we didn’t get a single penny back. They showed us star fish and crabs in the boat but that wasn’t the reason we took that trip. Our trip was waste of money and time.
Great choice for whale watching. Knowledgeable and friendly staff on board. They even had some starfish and crabs in a bucket on board which the kids loved.
Great tour Capt'n Chris and staff definitely know how to give guests a great tour. highly recommended.
ok
Spectacular whales and beautiful atlantic ocean views with family. it was my big fortune to see whales close to me!
(Translated) Great (Original) Super
We had the most amazing experience whale watching with Island quest! We were 2 adults and 3 kids! The youngest being 6, we were very worried about keeping him busy on the boat and interested. They kept him very busy and interested with different activities. Several whales sightings and lots of others marine animals spotted as well. Each and every staff we interacted with, on the boat and off, were AMAZING!! They served us a pate and some beverages on the boat which was a pleasant surprise! Also had a hands on presentation on the way back to shore that included crabs, starfish, and other little critters. Would definitely take another tour with them next time! BTW, I get very motion sick and the boat they used and the captain was great! Didn't have motion sickness at all!!!
