I just got to say, this may have been one of the best fishing charters I've ever had. Blake is awesome. We had a mix up with dates and Blake was on it, and immediately put me on a new date. He is a knowledgable guide, funny, and has fantastic energy. I was on a full day charter and we didn't stop the grind of trying to catch fish. The morning started out a bit slow but that was just cause the fish were being finicky but Blake and I chatted and joked around to help pass the time. We stopped midday for some bottom fishing for big ling cod before doing some more salmon fishing in the afternoon, where we caught a wild coho (you cannot keep these ones) and then two solid chinook's (springs, kings) and Blake cleaned and filleted them and helped teach me how to do it too. I really had a great time and recommend this charter to any fisherman, novice or adept. I hope to go again soon. - Tanner

Had an awesome trip with Blake from Unreel Charters. Got into fish in no time and the action was steady. Watching Blake work the gear you can tell he is a pro! I have been on a number of charters before and his boat is the nicest setup I have seen for fishing, lots of deck space, stable and comfortable. Was a great trip and will be booking again next season.

Blake is funny and extremely knowledgeable. We had hella laughs through out the day! Not a dull moment at all on our 8 hour trip. The mans a pro at what he does, and has top of the line gear/equipment. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I arranged my fishing trip from New Zealand with the main purpose of catching halibut . Blake suggested the best fishing spots for that time of year and it didn't fail. We caught our halibut in an hour and spent the rest of the day catching salmon. It was a great day out fishing and Blake was great person to spend the day with. Had a good time with the whole family and blake on a half day trip. He is a really sympathic guide who most certainly knew his stuff and who even stayed longer out than expected because the fish were not really coming in on that day. Nevertheless we had a good day and a nice tour and in the end he fileted the caught rock fish for us...it was delicious:-)

An amazing 3 day adventure! Blake knows his stuff!! The boat and gear are great. We were catching big salmon when other boats were slow. And when we weren't he is awesome to hang out with. Would recommend time and time again!

Took my son and 2 of his friends out for their first time fishing on the ocean this past week and Blake was very professional and personable. Answered all the questions the curious 13 year olds were throwing at him with genuine enthusiasm ????. He was very knowledgeable of the area and we had no problem reeling in quite a few fish and tossing back the ones that were too small. It was safety first as we had to wait a few days from our initial booking due to high winds. He managed to fit us in later in the week once the winds had died down. We will be looking him up again next year to book another trip. Highly recommend.

We fished off of Sooke and got into some great size salmon very quickly. The boat was impressive as there was lots of deck space for fighting fish, and it was quite stable when the weather picked up. Blake knew exactly what gear would work best and because of that the fish just kept coming! It was an amazing day fishing and I definitely recommend Unreel Charters to others!

Unreel fishing experience with Blake. He was very knowledgeable and gave my entire group an A1 experience. If you’re looking for a great guide with a nice boat this is your guy! We caught over 60lbs of salmon and even had to throw a couple keepers back in once we hit the limit.

Blake operates a fantastic fishing charter service! Before we booked, he responded quickly to our inquiries, and gave us the answers we needed. When we arrived, he was ready to go, and explained everything clearly. His well-equipped boat is powerful and quiet, and we were fishing just a few minutes after leaving the dock. During our trip, we caught several large Chinook salmon which Blake cleaned. He has worked as a fishing guide, and really knows salmon fishing. You'll have a great time! Highly recommended!

Captain Blake - What can I say other than 5 people, 5 salmon weighing around 60 pounds. To anyone reading these reviews, Captain Blake is the best. You will not regret booking a tour with him and his company. He is transparent, trustworthy and absolutely loves fishing. I have never met a fishing captain so diligent, informative and ready to help reel in a big one! Cant wait to return to Nanimo with my group and do another fishing trip with him.

Went on this trip to catch dinner and learn some knowledge about the waters in Naniamo. Had a great experience caught about 8-10 fish and had 2 keepers. Our guide, Blake, was professional from start to finish. Our group would get carried away with our conversation and forget about the rods; Blake was consistently picking up our slack.
