What a clown! He should learn some boating etiquette. You would think a professional would know the rules of the road and not try and bully other boaters that were in the right. Screaming and yelling at other boaters that actually know what they are doing isn't kosher. By the way, i got a nice tyee right after you trolled away in a big huff.

It’s a shame to see the bad reviews, they seem fishy (pun intended). Our experience with Gerry was fantastic. We took a family trip for the 5 of us, and it was very enjoyable. Gerry was very kind and super educational! Although we didn’t bring any fish home, we released plenty and will definitely be coming back again and telling family and friends! I’ve never really fished before but I had an amazing time, and definitely recommend Invictus Charters to anyone thinking about trying it out.

Gerry is an awesome guy, had a great sense with kids and newbies. I was in a bonding trip with my son and called him for a last minute availability, when he knew about the occasion he spared us a good 3 hours. Also i got my first Salmon :).

It was a really good experience, and Captain Gerry was really knowledgeable and friendly. It was just a bit pity that after spending 4 hours on the sea we didn’t bring any fish home. Hope I’ll be a bit luckier next time :)

The worst customer service experienced I have ever received. This company is Unprofessional , Rude and Deceitful. I called Nanaimo Fishing charters to book a trip - a different company all together. The guy I spoke to Len told me that it was not going to be him taking us out and that one of his captains Gerry will be calling me to arrange the booking. He did not say it was a different company nor did he mention that it would be a different boat. Respectfully, I asked Gerry for a refund and was treated with utter disrespect. He told me there was no way it was happening, began running me around by copy and pasting responses to me. He finally called me only to threaten me by saying I hope you have a nice house, I have a lawyer and I'm going to take your house

Had a really good time. Fishing out on the ocean is something I absolutely love to do (but have only done once before). I was super lucky to do it with someone (Gerry) that has a ton of experience and, is very willing to educate you along the way. Super nice guy and really fun to be around. Makes me sad to see all the Karen’s in his reviews cutting down such a great guy. This was my first time being out with Gerry and I’ll definitely be coming back!! Looking forward to it already!

Cheers ... sad to see a person contribute to a review who has never been on an Invictus Charter nor has any understanding of the professional charters that this company has offered over the past 35 years including many involving First Nations members, contributions to the local food bank, Victoria Children's Neonatal Ward, Tourism Nanaimo, YWCA and many more. Sad to see Google allow this type of spam, which negatively affects a company's status, without an immediate opportunity to have it effectively addressed. Invictus Charters has reached out to this person in an effort to have them review their actions as well as this person's employer to ensure they are aware of how this person conducts himself while representing their interests. Hopefully the tone of those reviews that have been on charters with Invictus Charters will allow prospective guests to recognize the disingenuous tone of Mr. Christopher Briggs.

How someone acts and behaves towards the general piblic says a lot about a person and their business ethics. I hope my story below can save people the pain and suffering of spending a half day, or full day on the water with someone completely unprofessional and rude. My family and I, including my 9 month pregnant wife, 2 year old son and 5 year old nephew were recently fishing for bullheads at Brechin Boat Launch. While sitting on the edge of a completely unoccupied dock, Gerry (owner and operator of invictus charters) decided that the best place to park his boat was right where two small children were fishing. In the process of docking, without warning he nearly hit me with his boat. While getting off the boat there was zero apology and he had an intense sense of entitlement about him. Considering there was at least 20 feet of dock behind his boat and an additional 20 feet just off to the side I proceeded to ask if he could move his boat to a different location, or at the very least move it back a few feet so we could continue fishing. He rudely replied, "I'll only be 2 minutes" and proceeded to unload his guests, 2 small pinks, and 1 lingcod. Around 15 minutes later I walked up to chat with him and he was confrontational and unapologetic. His words, and I quote were "You're right I was rude to you and your family and I'm about to get a whole lot ruder". I hope this is starting to paint a picture for the person you may be paying your hard earned money to spend a day on the water with. He refused to move his boat and continued to be rude. Ive been a guide for over 10 years and never have I seen anyone, let alone a guide, be so rude to the general public including ruin a 2 yead old and 5 year olds experience fishing at the dock. I can't stress how unprofessional Gerry is and suggest he needs an attitude adjustment. Complete lack of class. Need I say anything more? Save your money, look elsewhere.

Was hoping to book a nice trip for me and some friends but this turned into one of the worst customer service experiences for me. Gerry the owner showed us a photo of a boat on his friends site and after we paid him we finally got to see the photo of the actual boat... Not only did he refuse to offer a reasonable alternative - we were even willing to pay more money for a bigger boat with bathroom as originally advertised. Gerry proceed to threaten and try to bully us into getting what he wants. Think twice before booking with this company!

We had a family fishing day. It was fantastic for all of us. We brought home lots of fish and our 2 6 year old grandkids had a wonderful time bringing in the crab traps. A great day with a fantastic captain. Can't wait til we can all go again!!!

Gerry was a nightmare to deal with. He tried to scam me and my group by showing us a photo of one boat and then giving us another. Buyer beware this company is not to be trusted! He also refused to refund us within 24 hours of booking when we caught him in the lie.

We booked for our family of 5 adults. We lost count of how many fish we pulled in. Gerry didn’t stop the whole time we were out. He was running around helping us reel in our catch, telling jokes, entertaining us and keeping us laughing. He provided tales of local stories while we waited for the next rod to start shaking. We had an awesome day on the water. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks Gerry for being a terrific host! We will definitely be back!

Never been so disappointed by a company in my life. Gerry was extremely rude. He made every effort to avoid my calls and messages and refused to refund my group after I found out that the boat advertised was not the boat I was going to be on. If you’re looking for a waste of your time and money this is the guy for you!

Avoid booking any excursions with Invictus Charters and/or with Captain Gerry. It an utter shame when a business owner is rude, deceitful and unwilling to compromise with others because they care more about their ego than providing any decent customer service. If I could leave 0 star rating I would but Google does not allow that at this time. Our issue was simple - we asked for refund (within 24 hrs) because were deceived as to what type of boat we would have for this trip. Our trip is weeks away, thus, this is not a last second cancellation. Having read messages and hearing phone calls between Gerry and people in my party trying to resolve our issue with the excursion and with him, I am appalled to hear the things he said and his unwillingness to resolve the issue. Can you imagine being told from a business owner that they will personally "come for your house" and you better "be ready to pay?" Any reasonable customer should never have to endure this. No one should ever book a trip with him or his company. If you are looking for someone who thinks their experience trumps any questions or concerns about the service you are paying for - that's Gerry. If this review serves any purpose, I hope it is a wake up call to the business that Gerry needs to change the way he interacts with individuals. Furthermore, I hope sharing try party's experience ensures future group's really do their research when selecting reputable fishing excursions. Since posting - Gerry has chosen to threaten members of my group with legal action because he thinks he can bully people from posting reviews of their dealings with him and his business.
