Amazing Experience!! Great Food and Amazing Guides and our group was just fantastic! We all were pretty impressed with Kim and Cole! I have never Kayaked before and they were so helpful and patient. Camping was so much fun! I am going again next summer!! Really really good!

We rented a double from Kim on the July weekend. The boat was in great shape, and having it dropped off and picked up right at the launch was a huge help. Most importantly though we got some great route and camping tips which not only made the weekend more pleasant, but let us appreciate some of the unique island culture we came across ;).

I have never gone on a tour but I have seen and talked to the owner and his clients many times at Cedar Boat Ramp and they all seem.excited about there adventures!

My husband and I had a few days to ourselves during our family trip to BC (we live in Ontario). We spent a lovely 3 days/2 nights kayaking the Gulf Islands thanks to Wild Heart Adventures. The owner, Kim, was very pleasant and easy to deal with when making arrangements. He was attentive and answered questions promptly and thoughtfully. Our guide, Ben, was highly skilled and knowledgeable. He shared his knowledge of the area and love of the land and wildlife with us. He was really good at adapting the trip to our particular interests and ability. He had a great way of knowing what was the right balance between paddling, taking lunch breaks and spending time at the camp site. We were lucky to be the only ones on our trip, so it was all geared to what worked best for us. Food was delicious. Well balanced, healthy and tasty. The meals were well planned and packed with care. Home made pasta salad with artichokes and olives, curry chicken, baked cookies and other treats, … Highly recommend a trip with Wild Heart Adventures, leave the work up to them and you don't have to worry about all the logistics. All you need to do is bring your own personal items. Great way to see the area, away from the urban hustle. Only thing I might suggest is thin regards to a life jacket/PFD. If you're at all fussy as I am, I would bring my own as it is hard to be completely comfortable in a one size fits all one (I have a short torso, ...). Wish we had had more time for a longer trip. Maybe next time.

We had a wonderful trip! We did the 4 day Clayoquot Sound tour and it was so much fun! We had 10 guests in the group (3 separate groups) in total, plus 2 guides. Scenery was amazing - crystal clear calm waters and beautiful sandy picturesque beaches. Good mix of activity (kayaking) and chill time. Food was incredible and ample! We brought snacks, but didn’t need them. Great kayaking equipment with a good amount of storage. Communication was fast and responsive. Highly recommended! I learned a lot about kayaking too!

We went on the day-tripper, which was a wonderful time. Good kayaking, great views, an incredible prepared lunch. Our guide Kim is a delight: personable, interesting, and dependable. When my friend hurt her knee, Kim patched her up with temporary bandages, gave us directions to a pharmacy, and told us what to buy and how to apply it. I'd love to go on a multi-day trip the next time I'm in the area!

Like so many others: 5 star awesome! My son got this day trip for my birthday and was a phenomenal day. Excellent equipment, a great pace for enjoying scenery, plenty of local knowledge and a delicious home cooked feast on the beach! Highly recommended!

We had a great time with Kim on this kayaking day trip. I had never been kayaking so it was something new and I was a little unsure about it, but we really enjoyed it and I felt comfortable the entire time. We got to see tons of seals and star fish and jelly fish and beautiful scenery around the island. The lunch was surprisingly delicious, I didn't expect much but I was more than pleased with the delicious sandwich spread, homemade pasta salad, fruit and homemade brownies. I was most pleased with Kim's experience and knowledge, not only to do with kayaking the island and the wildlife but just life in general. It made for an interesting trip where I was able to leave feeling like I learned something and I always enjoy the opportunity to meet and chat with someone with a lot of life experience.

We had a great time on our day tour! We saw gorgeous rock formations, colorful sea stars and cute seals. The lunch was excellent and they were happy to accomodate a vegan diet. Highly recommended!

We've been out twice with Kim, and both trips were amazing. The first trip we had kids with us in ages from 12-22 and they loved the great day we spent on the water. The picnic lunch was delicious too! We will be back to the island this year and would like to do a multi-day trip this time.

Jan Hort

Absolutely amazing experience. Kim took me and my wife for really nice day trip. Everything went really smooth and Kim is really friendly! And we really loved the lunch. Definitely worth it! Thank you

We had the best time ever, Johnstone Strait didn't disappoint. We had many Orca sightings along with Humpbacks and Dolphins. Kim is an awesome guide and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend Wildheart Adventures to anyone who is wanting to explore Vancouver Island by Kayak.

We had a fantastic kayak day trip. Our guide was super patient and explained everything very well. You could tell that he loves being outdoors and knows a lot about the sea and it’s surroundings. He’s such an expert! The equipment was really good and we felt save. The lunch was just incredible and super tasty. We never thought that we would be treated to such a lovely lunch. During our tour we saw seals, a sea lion, fish, birds and even some deers on land. If you’re planning on taking a kayak tour, this is the place to go to! Would highly recommend!!!

Jasmine Bruce

Knowledgeable guide who was friendly and made sure our experience was enjoyable. Personable that included a homemade delicious lunch. The whole adventure was perfect for a kayak on the sea. If you are looking for a professional, safe and fun trip wild heart adventures is for you!

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our kayaking trip recently through Wild Heart. Our guide, Kim, was so knowledgeable, patient, and great to work with. The route he brought us on was also incredibly beautiful! We'd highly recommend Wild Heart Sea Kayaking! Thanks again so much!

One of the best adventures of my life so far. Fabulous food, beautiful sandy beaches, knowledgeable guides, fresh air, the perfect balance of paddling and free time. Everything was absolutely perfect. It really was a dream. I'd recommend this adventure for anyone.

Chantelle Stothert

We took a day tour & had a great time with Kim as our guide! His local knowledge and story telling added to a fun paddle. The lunch on the beach was fantastic! We would do this paddle again when we come back to the area. Thanks Kim!

Amos Wolf

Kim worked us into their daytripper schedule at the last minute. Very easy-going yet thorough. Worked with our level of experience (none), and had a great time. Saw lots of seals, rock formations, smaller sea-life, eagles, etc. Wonderful meal on an island beach. Highly recommend.

Thomas Clingan

My wife and I had a wonderful experience kayaking with our guide Kim. The paddle to an island with amazing limestone cliff formations was just perfect. Kim knew just how much instruction to give us and just how far we should paddle. Kim and his wife prepared a tasty home-made lunch which we enjoyed on a beautiful island beach (thanks to Kim's wife for the great pasta salad, cookies, and brownies!). Kim was warm, interesting, supportive, and knowledgeable, and the time with him made the experience even better. Thanks for a memorable day Kim!!

Craig Jackson

This was a great day trip. Kim was a friendly guide and we saw wonderful sea life. The kayaks were well maintained and the food excellent. I plan on returning and bringing friends. Highly reccomended!

We just returned from a lovely three day kayak trip out of Cedar by the Sea. The trip was very well organized, making a relaxing time for us. The tandem kayak was stable and comfortable. The scenery, especially the sandstone cliffs was gorgeous. The amount of paddling each day was just right. Our guide Ben was very knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. He let us go at our own pace. We saw lots of sea and land creatures. The food was very good. The campsites were scenic and comfortable. I would highly recommend this trip and Wildheart Adventures.

What a wonderful experience! Kim is a patient, experienced kayaker who made us feel safe paddling around the islands. The pace was good, even though we are not experienced - fast enough to keep us engaged but slow enough that we could keep up without killing ourselves, LOL. Kim knows all about the wildlife and rock formations, and history of the islands, and was happy to share in a very friendly, relaxed way. Lunch was wholesome, home-made by a wonderful cook, delicious, and filling. The weather was perfect, so it was nice to take a lunch break and soak up some sun before heading back to the launch. I've kayaked a few times before, and was really looking forward to my husband having an excellent first experience. This tour, the weather, and our guide, Kim, were the magic ingredients we needed!

Simply magical...I did this trip 15 years ago and won't wait another 15 years before I sign up with Wildheart again. Kim and Penny have put together a great team of guides, delicious food and then there is the magic of eagles, otters, fish, scenery and ORCAS. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Went for a one day tour. Lunch was amazing. Guide was fantastic. We will definitely be back for a multi day tour. Can't say enough good things about this operation.

We, family of four, just had a wonderful day on the water with our host/guide Kim. With little or no kayaking experience from our side we had a safe and fun day. Kim is an experienced and friendly guide, who took the time to show us around the beautiful ocean and islands near Nainamo. We saw bold eagles, seals and many more animals. Kim also provided us with a delicious home made lunch on one of the islands. This was definitely one of the highlights on our trip.

Megan Danielle

My friend and I had the opportunity to do a three day trip through Johnstone straight, and wow was it incredible!! Right from the start Kim was a spectacular guide and walked us through everything we would be doing and made sure we were set to have an unforgettable trip. Starting from Port McNeill was a treat in itself with the charm of the little seaside town. The scenery the entire trip was like that from a postcard, from the crystal clear ocean waters, the tree covered mountains and gorgeous pacific north west beaches. Although we had a lot of rain during our trip, we had an absolute blast with Kim as he showed us what the coast had to offer. During our trip we saw plenty of orcas, some humpbacks and bald eagles! During our second day Kim managed to score us a beautiful Salmon which he showed up how to prepare, before allowing it to cook over one of our many beautiful and fun filled beach fires. The fresh Salmon was fantastic, however it didn’t outshine any of the other terrific food that we had during the trip. All and all, we had a fantastic trip and would recommend that anyone thinking about going for a day or multi day trip consider wild heart! Kim was amazing to work with planning our trip, during our adventure and even showed unbelievable hospitality in the days following our trip. Can’t wait to be back on the island again soon!!

Although it was already October (7th) Kim took us out for a kayaking adventure at sea (where most other kayaking tours just stopped after the season) It was a great experience!! Kim was an excellent guide: short though very clear instructions, safety first, and everything in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We saw harbour seals, river others and had a magnificent and delicious picnic lunch prepared by Kim’s wife. Also Kim gave us some ‘taylor- made tips’ for hiking and restaurants near Nanaimo. It’s impossible to imagine a more experienced guide than Kim, so we definitely can recommend Wild Heart Adventures!

After the whale touring company bailed on us I contacted Kim to see if he could possibly take us out as it was my 50th Birthday. Kim immediately came up with a plan so that we could get on the ocean as we were from out of province. Our trip was incredible! We felt safe and Kim cared enough to ask about ourselves making the day even more enjoyable. The lunch was absolutely fabulous with great company! We will be back to kayak for three days next time with Wild Heart Sea Kayaking! Without a doubt the best guide in the area! Thanks sir and hope you and yours are well!

What a trip! Our family had a great time. The Broken Group islands were stunning with abundant wild life and turquoise water. Our guide Ben was very knowledgeable about nature and local history, and was great with the kids. He even showed them how to make a musical instrument with bull kelp! The vibe of the whole trip was laid back with a perfect mix of exploring in our kayaks and chill time on the islands. I’d recommend this for any family with adventurous kids who want to get out there and explore.

Brenda Henderson

Kim and Alice were amazing guides! They were knowledgable and helpful and interesting. The scenery is spectacular and our camp sites were superb. The food was awesome and the desserts, in particular, were fantastic! When we returned home, Kim surprised us with a set of gorgeous photos taken during our trip. Kim has a great camera and the photos are such a lovely reminder of our holiday. I would definitely recommend Wild Heart Sea Kayaking Tours.

Victoria Klassen

The tour was amazing! Very easy instructions, a lovely paddle to see some cool rock formations and some wildlife, great lunch and explore and a lovely paddle back. Couldn't have had a better day!

We recently completed the 3-day Johnstone Strait Robson Bight tour with Kim (owner/operator) acting as our guide. Kim is a great guide with deep experience, who takes his guiding responsibilities seriously. Kim encouraged us every step of the way and he presents a fun loving demeanor. It always felt reassuring to know that we were in the hands of someone with wisdom and experience. If you're looking for a 'once in a lifetime' outdoor experience, great food, great fishing, remarkable nature sightings/encounters and a guide who respects the outdoors...I highly recommend Kim and his team at Adventures Wild Heart Sea Kayaking Tours!

We had awesome multi-day kayaking adventure to the Broken Islands. The guides were very experienced, knowledgeable, and super cool to hangout with. They had lots of interesting stories to tell. Their stories alone make the trip worth it :). The food was beyond amazing, fresh, home made, organic, and delicious! The area is very picturesque, each photo you take can be in a travel magazine, and nothing beats camping on the beach. We’ll definitely go back soon to kayak with Kim again. Thank you my friend!

Tim Wicks

We went on a beautiful day and had the time of our lives. Kim was very friendly and outgoing . He taught us how to kayak properly so we could easily paddle around the islands that he took us to. We had a picnic lunch on a beach and Kim's wife prepared it all, it was absolutely fantastic. Kim also told us about what to see and do in the area that the locals love and each place we went to was incredible. I would highly recommend this adventure.

This was my second tour with Wild Heart (spaced about 20 years apart) and it was just as wonderful as I had remembered. Obviously, the scenery and the paddling are exceptional, but Kim and Cole took the experience up to another level. They fed us like we were royalty, entertained us as if they were Emmy winners and accepted us as friends. It was a grand adventure and I highly recommend it.

Ali Alawieh

Excellent experience with a very friendly and professional guide. Kim was kind, strong, and made us all feel safe and welcomed. The paddle was exciting, saw a lot of wildlife and had a delightful homemade lunch on a beach. The Covid-19 precautions were followed and every one kept a healthy distance even when we socialized over lunch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique half day adventure!

We had such a fun time kayaking Johnstone Strait with Kim! His good nature and genuine enthusiasm for the kayak tours is infectious. Everyone couldn't help but be in good spirits from the trip's start to finish. Our camp was on a pristine rocky beach with a stunning view of the strait. The camp and the activities were set up so that we could chat and spend time with the others on the trip around the campfire, but could just as easily wander off for some quiet time to read a book or play a game of cards. There was an excellent balance between time spent kayaking and time spent relaxing. Kim responded to our desire to see as much sea life as possible by ramping up the time spent kayaking and exploring around on the water as much as possible. However, he was also good at reading the crowd and knew when it was time for us to make our way back to camp before everyone got too hangry. My partner was excited to try ocean fishing off of the kayaks. Kim was just so happy to have someone on the trip that was excited to try something and really became invested in letting him get the opportunity to catch a fish - and he did! Meanwhile, there was always a balance between fishing time and what the rest of the group wanted to do. If Kim and my partner were fishing, we would be stopped at a point that everyone needed a break anyways or where there was some area nearby that the rest of the group could explore without getting out of eyeshot. Each morning, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast with fresh coffee while watching the mist rise over the calm waters. My personal favourite was the french toast with yogurt, berries, and maple syrup! All the meals were varied and totally delicious. A high point was when we had a dinner of pasta and homemade sauce with the ling cod that Kim caught off of his kayak that same afternoon. Truly gourmet. While we did not see any orcas, we feel very lucky to have seen multiple humpback whales, a huge school of porpoises, bald eagles, a baby black bear, and harlequin birds. We hit absolutely beautiful weather. It was truly ethereal the way that the mist hugged the craggy coastline in the mornings as we paddled along the glassy waters. I would recommend this trip to anyone! We had a blast and are already daydreaming about doing another kayaking trip with Wild Heart!

Justine Turner

We had a great day on the water with Kim, our guide! We felt very welcome and he was very knowledgeable and personable. Excellent viewing of seals on the rocks and amazing erosion of the sandstone along the shoreline. Nice break and picnic lunch also. Would highly recommend this trip and would do it again!

Sebastian Röhl

Amazing trip! With Kim and Alys, we had two perfect guides who complemented each other and gave us a great and unique experience. Besides the kayaking in the wonderful Clayoquot Sound, the camping on beautiful beaches and especially the home made food made this trip unforgettable. We have never felt like tourists but like a part of a big family. Thank you for that!

Kevin Hiebert

The day-trip we took was fantastic! We were fortunate to have Kim as our guide and he was a wealth of knowledge about the area and incredibly engaging. And the lunch was great! A beautiful time was had in a beautiful area!

ian

Great trip to Clayoquot Sound with guides Kim and Alice. Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed it. Great scenery, beautiful camping sites on secluded beaches, great food. Fun paddling, always felt well looked after by the guides. Great fun!

Jessica Wilcox

The kayak day tour was so beautiful! Kim took us and showed us tons of sea creatures along the way. He also prepared us a delicious home made meal. I would definitly recommend going on this tour!

Joanna Mantell

There really are not enough superlatives to describe our trip -- it was such an amazing experience! It's easy to have a wonderful trip when Mother Nature hands you the perfect conditions, but that did not happen for us. We faced a forecast that included severe wind and rain during our 3-day trip, but Kim's knowledge and experience made us confident that we were in good hands and he made sure our trip was the very best it could be. We had a terrific campsite with gorgeous views and hiking trails nearby that allowed us to watch a pod of Orcas swim by while we enjoyed hot chocolate and tea. The wildlife was the big draw for us, and we were not disappointed -- in addition to the orcas, we saw a sea lion, porpoises, seals, eagles, and a playful otter right in our cove. The food was an unexpected highlight -- the variety and fresh, local ingredients unlike anything we've experienced in the backcountry before. It's a lot easier to kayak in cold and rainy conditions when you know a warm, delicious meal is going to cap off the day! I would say this is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, but we will be trying hard to find our way back for another trip soon.

Daniel Persad

This was the highlight of our trip! Kim and the whole team were incredible. The lunch was outstanding. All homemade food that was put of this world. Took our girls (9 and 12) and the trip was perfect for them. Everyone was very happy.
