As you know, we don't usually bother to give opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Travel Agency is classified in the category of Tour operator.
I have taken 2 trips with Audley. That's the only way I Travel now.
Having traveled to Asia both with and without Audley, it's shocking how well you are treated on trips with the company. The guides and tours are incredibly unique and well-organised and professional, and the company tailor-designs the trip to your tastes - whether its wildlife, culture, trekking, beach time, or everything combined. Their specialists only sell regions that they've personally been to so they give honest feedback in terms of hotels, cities, tours, etc. If you're looking to organize a bucket-list trip, Audley is the company to work with. A+.
If you want to take the most culturally enlightening vacation, let Audley take care of you.
My wife and I have booked with Audley travel twice. Our first experience was to South Africa. We had requested a hybrid experience- we booked some hotels ourselves( in Capetown) and they planned and booked other segments of trip( internal flights and safari lodges and trips, Victoria falls and Zambia). They were easy to work with and quite amenable to our "customized planning". We booked again in 2017 Namibia ,and other than flights, they created entire self drive trip, car rental, lodges and excursions and activities. They even arranged a "handler" to whisk us through a busy Johannsberg airport because we had a short connection. They easy handled and reconnected us to all our plans when our flight was delayed one day at the start of trip. I couldn't recommend them any more highly. Audley plans, and stands behind you the entire trip to ensure you have a wonderful experience.
Audley created the trip of a lifetime for our family. We took our two year old to Kenya on Safari and they took care of every detail. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to plan a trip.
Audley handled my honeymoon arrangements and they did so with such great care. I was overwhelmed planning my 200 person wedding and was secretly more excited about sneaking off somewhere exotic, warm and most importantly out of cell phone range from my demanding job than I was to select napkin colors. I had little time to do the extensive research I would normally do to make sure we ended up somewhere tasteful, emerged in local culture, with dreamworthy accommodations and with good food. I took a risk by putting this in the hands of Audley travel and boy did it pay off! Every detail was thought of and all my feed back while planning was listened to and put into a package that was literally tied with a bow. We ended up in Fiji at the magical Tokoriki Resort. A place I cried my eyes out leaving and currently put money away for each week counting down the minutes I can get us back to that paradise. It was truly awe inspiring and somewhere I never would have found if it hadn’t been for Audley. They listened to my budget needs and accommodated every need I had. They are responsible for guiding my husband and I to our favorite corner of the world and were the crux of beautiful memories being built. Travel, especially to a place as far as Fiji, can be filled with unexpected trials and hiccups and while certainly Audley can’t be held responsible for travel running its natural course, they had back up to their backup plans. On the day we planned to travel home there was a massive Hurricane States-side and no matter what time it was in Boston there was always someone available to handle our arrangements so that this wasn’t time consuming or stressful for us on our honeymoon. I’m a well versed traveler, fortunate to have see a great deal of the world and never did I think I would put my honeymoon arrangements in the hands of anyone else, but allowing Audley into our itinerary was the best move I could have made. Amira and Eric were special, invested and genuinely interested in the success of our trip. Thank you Audley, we cannot recommend you or Tokoriki enough!
UPDATE - 7/12/19 (changed to 2 stars) - Audley reached out to me after I posted this review, and they made an effort to address my situation. I appreciate that. Most importantly, the Audley representative said that they would be reviewing how trips were booked and managed in an effort to improve. Hopefully, those efforts will bear fruit in the time ahead. ORIGINAL REVIEW (1 star) - After traveling for more than 15 years with Audley, we've become deeply disappointed. In the last 5 years, in particular, the focus seems to be more on selling trips than creating custom-made itineraries and working with clients to really understand and respond to their needs. Now, sales tactics are high pressure once an itinerary is delivered, and a recent trip that we took with Audley to Panama was very disappointing. Audley did not adequately vet our hotel, and there was an extremely disruptive event going on when we arrived late at night resulting in almost no sleep. Also, they helped to schedule a hike for us that was unrealistic. Our local guides explained that we could not reasonably complete the hike in a day, and they did not have the hike on their agenda. We have trusted Audley without our most important travel plans for years, and we have relied on them for mastering these types of local details. In the past, they did a very good job of this. Sadly, they are dropping the ball now, and we'd advise that you be careful placing that level of trust in them in the future.
My second home!!! Everyone is WICKED COOL!!!
Amazing trip to New Zealand. All enjoyment, no worries!
I traveled with Audley on a 2 week trip to Thailand. It was an incredible experience! All of the excursions were amazing and high quality, the local guides were hospitable and spoke great English, and having private transfers took a lot of anxiety out of the trip. Audley gave us these amazing itinerary binders that had every last detail in there and even suggestions for free time. Would highly recommend this company!
We got engaged on an Audley trip to Peru and it was extra special because the guide helped to find a place with no other visitors and a beautiful view. The whole trip was amazing!
The whole website is a unacceptable misrepresentation. Our experience with Audley is exceptionally poor. Essentially they charge us for services they do not provide and ruined our vacation
We've been working with Tom Kelly at Audley to coordinate land tours in South Africa prior to a cruise we will be taking. They have been amazing to work with. In addition to finding wonderful accommodations the pricing was well below what I found individually. We're looking forward to our safari and are sure that the flights, hotels, transport, and tours that Audley secured will be wonderful!
"Tailor-made journeys for the Discerning Traveler"
They learned about me and completely tailored my trip from scratch, I haven't even gone on the trip yet and I am floored, absolutely in love.
We have travelled with Audley twice now and I am looking forward to the next trip. We travelled with Audley to South Africa. An amazing trip that coordinated a group of 7 family and friends coming and going from two different continents at different times. It was only after the trip that I realized how valuable and experienced the country specialist who coordinated our trip really was. Our trip Started with a two day excursion to wine country in Franschhoek that included a car rental, a beautiful guest house stay with three rooms and of course the wine tours. Next we traveled back to Capetown to stay at the Walterfront Apartments. In the following three days we experienced amazing private guided tour excursions to Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Houts Bay, a Seal Island Cruise, False Bay, The Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. From Capetown we all flew to the west coast to Port Elizabeth where we rented another vehicle to drive up to Alexandria for a three day safari at the Hlosi reserve and lodge. The safari offered two tours a day and three if you wanted to skip lunch! After a safari experience that included close up encounters never to be forgotten and a game lodge that offered the best in relaxation, service, accommodations, food and drink we self drove to Plettenbergh Bay. It was at Plett bay that we enjoyed a another cruise for dolphin encounters which ended with the coolest beach landing you will get to make unless you have had the privilege to serve in the navy. The best dolphin encounter we had was walking Plet beach where we watched dolphins ride the waves in. Also, stay at the Robert Beach Lodge if you get the chance. We had two nights here and would have loved a third. The view from the rooms and the roof deck patio are amazing. Don’t miss dinner at Enricos restaurant just a 15 minute drive away. From Plet Bay we made the drive to Port Elizabeth where we had to say goodbye to two in our group at the airport. We continued on to start our drive along the Garden Route back toward Cape Town. Our next stop was inland a few hours to Oudtshoorn for a two day stay at the La Plume Guest House. A 200 hectare ostrich farm that had incredibly beautiful accommodations that offered the best in luxuries including wine and food. We enjoyed farm tours and an amazing excursion of the Cango caves. From Outdshoorn we made our way on Route 62 back to the coastline. The Route 62 coffee shop offers up some great authentic food. We made our next two day stop in Hermanus where we enjoyed some shopping and beautiful walks along the bay. Dinner at the Harbour Rock restaurant was so much fun with a fantastic menu. Finally, we made our way back to Cape Town for a final day of shopping and restaurants. I know I put too much here but it does not come close to covering everything we did. Audley did an amazing job of coordinating logistics, providing the best of guides, comfortable transportation, accounting for all items our on bucket list, booking unforgettable guest homes and excursions that inspired another trip back to Africa - But that is for the next review. Many thanks to Audley for providing experiences of a lifetime.
Audley totally exceeded my expectations! The specialist I dealt with was so friendly and helpful throughout the whole booking process, really going above and beyond to make sure I had the trip of a lifetime. Which it definitely was! I've been raving to all my friends. Can't wait to plan my next vacation!
My trip coordinator, Brynn Woodworth, was fantastic. Amazing trip to India!
I don’t know, maybe Audley travel is not meant for me, I might even use them for a different trip in future, but I stopped working with them before anything was even booked because I felt I wasn’t being listened to. Specifically, my boyfriend and I wanted to use our hotel points on our trip to Peru and work with Audley for the tours and some of the hotel. My agent said it was okay to use our own points in Lima but not in Cusco. I asked her specifically if they would work with us if we chose to book our own hotels in Cusco and twice, she said no. So I ended the conversation there. I even was agreeing to stay at the hotels they recommended in the Sacred Valley, just not Cusco. Some other things; 1. They booked private transportation for us to Nazca even though I had said we would be doing this on our own. 2. Although I don’t think this was the agent’s intent, more than once during the conversation, I felt that I was being told what I want instead of asked. Maybe she just got excited and wanted what she thought would be the best trip, but it isn’t what I wanted. 3. She hadn’t paid attention to the schedule I had first described to her based on our flights, and had us traveling from city to city on different days than I had originally wanted. I think that if you want someone to put the trip together for you from beginning to end without much input from you, this really is the perfect company to go with and might be for me in the future. It wasn’t right for me this time. I was so hopeful they would be able to schedule and provide the private tours based on my schedule and needs. Also, we had talked about a price she said she could work with “maybe a little bit over.” It came in close to $2000.00 over what we had had discussed (the high end). Maybe that’s “a little bit” to some.
My husband and I were recently afforded the opportunity to have a vacation of a lifetime! Audley Travel turned it into a nightmare. I will probably never use another travel agency again. After taking 9 months to decide on a trip to Ireland and months of planning what they promised was not delivered. Their “specialists in Ireland” were worthless and when needed were not available to help or answer questions until we repeatedly called and finally e-mailed them requesting a call. Accommodations that were verified prior to our trip did not happen. We had King size rooms verified for the trip but ended up with a twin and queen in our last two hotels. The queen over there definitely sleeps more like a full in the states. We were told all of our tours arrangements were preplanned and that all we had to do was show them a Service Itinerary and “everyone knew we were coming.” They do NOT provide separate vouchers for all your tours/excursions. There are NO CONTACT NAMES OF THE PEOPLE YOU ARE TO MEET! We were provided 2 Vouchers for our 2 weeks stay. Which is a HUGE problem when you don’t have any contact names and no individual vouchers. EVERY SINGLE PERSON ASKED US FOR A VOUCHER (this is very embarrassing as it makes you look like you’re trying to get away with free services) DESPITE BEING TOLD REPEATEDLY THAT WE JUST HAD TO SHOW THEM THIS ITINERARY PAPER THAT HAD SERVICE VOUCHER ON THE TOP. NONE OF OUR TOURS/PLANS WENT OFF WITHOUT PROBLEMS!!!!! We did not get our Private Tours—we were paired up with other people which ended up in us not getting to do the most exciting things on certain tours. Their grey Itinerary book does not provide physical addresses for the places you go or stay so look it up prior to departure. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE ONE STAR IS BECAUSE YOU CANNOT PICK AN X. I absolutely do not recommend this agency.
We went to New Zealand using Audley Travel and while they have all the right "bells and whistles" ( spiffy hard copy and online travel companions etc) and very enthusiastic agents, the devil was in the detail. While the overall trip was well-planned, there were many glitches due to misinformation or inattention to detail which added unnecessary anxiety to a trip that would have otherwise been very relaxing. If Audley is going to provide the premium experience it promises (and for which one pays) it will need to spend more of its resources on the training and supervision of its agents.
We were a group of four people wanting to travel to Madagascar. We found several companies that offered tour packages but none were able to provide an itinerary that would work with our time schedule and places that we wanted to visit until we met Audley Travel. They offered us a private vehicle with a driver/guide and the exact dates that we wanted to travel. Our specialist, Mike did an excellent job matching the itinerary to what he would recommend and what I wanted to do. We traveled for two weeks and all of the accommodations and places we visited met or exceeded our expectations. A true test of how good a company is, is when there is a problem. There was a mechanical problem with the vehicle we were traveling in, the problem was fixed quickly and the response from Audley travel regarding the problem also exceeded our expectations. We will definitely refer, recommend and use Audley Travel again in the future.
Traveling with Audley Travel was fantastic! My trip to Japan was relaxing, seamless, and full of experiences that I will never forget. Can’t wait for my next trip with them (got two in the making!)
The wife and I used Audley travel for a 2 week South African/Zambia trip Nov 29-Dec 12. I have to admit how pleased we were with them. We started planning this trip back in Nov 2018. I was a little bit nervous at first because this trip was on my wife's bucket list. Our then rep Molly patiently went step by step on every detail of what we wanted in order for this itinerary to be tailor made and feel personalized for us. Around the time one of our in country flights was cancelled and we couldn't fly out until the next day our new rep Courtney gave us an additional beautiful panoramic tour to Hazy View to visit other sites along the way to our over night stay at a beautiful hotel and dinner that was paid by Audley for the inconvenience. My wife appreciated it because of the cancelled flight she was able to have a 6th drive on our safari and this tour was about six hours of beauty that we would have never seen. We loved being picked up with signs with our names on them at every airport once we landed in Cape Town until we landed in Zambia. Almost all our tours were private which was excellent. Some people may have seemed overwhelmed at first glance of the dictionary Audley sends you that details day by day everything you will be doing, who will meet you, where you are going, flight info, tipping, EVERYTHING!! But thanks to Courtney and our last rep Allie. They went through it with book with me and we thank them for every part of it. The last thing was the app which was also day by day brief planner from leaving Chicago until returning to Chicago. The conversion of Rand to US dollars and weather conversion was a plus on the app.
I traveled to Italy with Audley several months ago. It was PERFECT! Our agent, Julia, took care of every detail of our trip. The hotels she chose were beautiful and their locations made multiple activities available within feet of our door. Our hotel in Florence was especially beautiful with a breathtaking roof top dining area. We asked for multiple side trips and each one had knowledgeable guides and drivers that allowed for efficient use of our precious time. Julia also offered us a wide range of ideas for sights and activities that were previously unknown to us. The entire trip was hassle free and I am already hoping for another trip with Audley as soon as possible.
My husband and I went to Thailand for our honeymoon in February 2020. We decided to use Audley because we wanted a stress free and planned trip. We planned it with the Rep (Patrick) 2 months from of our trip. I was a bit hesitant because it was the first travel company we have used. We changed the first itinerary he had given us and asked for more options. We trusted him, with but unfortunately we were dissatisfied and disappointed with the overall quality of service experience at the end of our trip. We understand things sometimes don't go as planned or are not perfect, but there was lack of costumer focus from Audley. No one knew it was our honeymoon in Thailand unless we told them. We spent more then 10K to visit 4 cities in 14 days. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY with them unless your willing to blow it and have unexpected disappointments. When we landed on day one we couldn't find the tour guide or the company because they had our last name spelled wrong. We had to contact the local agency, which could not find our itinerary with our name or reservation number from Audley. The agency told us to take a cab, but that was unacceptable because we had a tour guide expecting us. It took us 45 min to find the guide (He was the best one out of all the ones we had). Originally we told our Audley agent we wanted to see waterfalls while in Thailand, but he didn't really ask anything else. We went to a national park but ended up wasting three days of our honeymoon because due to dry season there was literally no waterfall in the first location he selected for us. We had another waterfall day planned in another city, and I needed to make sure it was what my husband and I had in mind. The main problem was the time difference and we didn't have anyone to contact. We contacted the local office, but had to wait for the Audley agent which had no sense of urgency to respond to our concerns. We arrived to the next city and ended up being placed in a hotel that did not look like the picture from Audley and was not very nice. It was hot and not safe (not acceptable). We were so frustrated and felt like we had to just go along with what was planned. We came across an email of a quality service manager and emailed him, which then finally received a response within 3 hours. The next day we got moved to the hotel we should have been placed when we landed and he was able to change the itinerary because the waterfall that was chosen by the agent was not what we wanted to see. We didn't ask to always have a bathtub in our room, but you would expect to have one in a honeymoon. Towards the end of the trip we had a very small bathtub, and we had asked to have one in our room in Phi Phi Island. When we got there we were placed in very back corner of the resort in a very old room. The room was hot and not what it looked like in the picture and had no bathtub. We contacted the front desk and had to pay for the upgrade on the room we should have stayed in. We contacted the agents manager (Bryn) and she didn't seem to really care and threw in our face the changes we had made from itinerary earlier in our trip. It was very frustrating because I feel we should have planned the trip ourselves to not have unexpected surprises and disappointments. We were not given all of the information necessary nor the experience we were looking for and Audley did not seem to care that we had a bad experience with them.
Audley helped book a trip of ours to China. We were going there to work followed by personal travel. This was made exceptionally clear when booking. The first hotel was not near where we were working and it would have taken hours to get there (no exaggeration)! Our work schedule got extended and I had to cancel most of our trip and was able to change dates on one portion. In the end I was charged for the entire trip yet only enjoyed about 1/4 of it. I asked for a refund but they refuse. I asked for an itemized invoice and they fail to send it. I am more than willing to pay for the portion of the trip we used plus reasonable cancellation fees but they will not cooperate with me in doing so. This was my first (and last) experience working with a travel agency.
I have worked with two Audley specialists on upcoming trips to India and Colombia, and I have been so impressed! They have been so helpful, kind and accommodating. The entire process has been seamless, and I look forward to working with Audley on many trips to come. Great company that puts customer service first and foremost!
Audley helped us plan the most amazing trip to Japan! Every detail worked out seamlessly and the itinerary they planned gave us an extremely thorough experience with different cities and facets of Japanese culture. Highly recommend and we will be using them again for our next trip!
While the two trips we have taken with them have been wonderful, we were very disappointed with the cost. When we got to our destination on this last trip, we discovered that MUCH of what they had charged us full price for our son was half off, or free. It’s been over 6 weeks since we returned, they know my issue and promised a phone call, and have yet to call me. I assume if you’re not 100% satisfied, they don’t want to talk to you about your trip. I will look elsewhere for a travel agency in the future (and our two trips grossed them over $25,000, so it’s definitely their loss!)
My spouse; Jodi Budin, and I have booked a trip with Audley, and to this day, we have not received a final itinerary with all the changes, as agreed. The agent that was handling our trip notified us of her departure, three or four days after she left, without leaving a new agent's name or doing a proper transition to a new person . We have a few pending issues, which remained unaddressed. And our departure date is April 2022, not too far into the future. We are very disappointed. This is our third trip with Audley, we were pleased with the first two, but are far from that this time. To be continued
I'm working with Briana for our trip to Africa in October 2020 She has been excellent, knowledgeable and I hope we will be able to experience this bucket list item. Thank you so much Briana
We were 2 Canadian couples travelling together to Thailand for the first time and wanted lots of hiking, snorkeling, an elephant experience, along with a few days in Bangkok. Our agent, Brittany from the Audley Boston office, took the time to listen to each couples’ wishes and did an outstanding job of building our 20 day itinerary. She took care of our flights, airport transfers, hotels, breakfasts, tours and guides plus gave us a pre departure orientation/travel guide that was very helpful. Brittany was knowledgeable, responsive, had great attention to detail and was a pleasure to work with. The first seven days of our trip exceeded our expectations; we were delighted! But the real test of Audley came at the end of Day 7 when one of our group died suddenly. Audley never missed a beat. They supported us every step of the way. They understood that we were not able to continue the trip and that our priority was to complete the mind boggling requirements of dealing with a death in a foreign country and to get home. Without hesitation, Audley assigned us a dedicated driver and guide to act as a translator with the local authorities. They ensured all of our ongoing bookings and flights were cancelled and found interim lodging until we were able to leave for Canada. They checked in with us daily and continued to follow up upon our return to Canada. They even arranged grief counselling for our newly widowed friend. The professionalism and compassion of everyone connected to the Audley organization is truly remarkable. We are so grateful to many people and wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to Alex, David and Brittany from Audley; the local Chiang Mai tour office and our guide, Asoepa, for being so sympathetic and amazingly helpful; and, the staff at the Na Nirand & Rachamankha Hotels in Chiang Mai who were so gracious and comforting.
We used Audley for a trip to Cuba. It was fantastic.
My fiance and I reached out to Audley Travel for our honeymoon in Japan and S Korea. Within a day, Tamantha contacted us for more details of what would we like to do and what cities we preferred. She was knowledgeable and attentive of what we're planning on our honeymoon. Within a few days, Tam was able to pull a detailed itinerary where it was easy to understand and even features additional recommendations for you to explore during your free time. Summaries of the importance for certain sites was also included. Tam is very thorough and kept a constant communication with us. I highly recommend Tam for her services and expertise.
I suggest, based on my experience with Audley Travel, that you avoid using them. The customer base Audley Travel purports to serve is “the affluent customer with high expectations”. Our group has sufficient resources, is well-educated and well-traveled and we were disappointed by the service provided by Audley. In 2015 Audley was acquired by 3i, a venture capital and private equity firm--profit is clearly their sole focus. Audley emphasizes their staff’s in-depth knowledge of particular countries but both agents we were assigned were less than capable, seasoned travel agents— and lacked a deep knowledge of country. They didn’t make the effort to understand the needs our group to tailor our trip appropriately. As an example, our agent signed the entire group of us up for an all-day glacier hike, I believe the cost of which was nearly $300/per person—my husband and I opted out of that weeks before the trip and naturally asked to be reimbursed, as it was pre-paid. It has been more than a month since our trip ended—we’ve heard nothing (other than having received a post-trip questionnaire). That is only one of several reimbursements that has yet to be made. Sending your clients their itinerary in the form of a nearly 2-lb. book and expecting them to take that with them reflects a lack of understanding about what savvy travelers want—to put it in today’s lingo, “seriously”? The type of details we want and didn’t get were, where best to buy a SIM card, what domestic luggage limitations are, in American-friendly metrics, a photo of the electrical plugs needed and so forth. There are specific details that impacted us, such as listing the wrong car rental agency in our itinerary. This meant standing in line and finding that they had no vehicle for us—upsetting. It was rectified with a frantic phone calls and another line at the correct car agency. They seldom provide vouchers for all your activities/excursions. There are often not vouchers which can pose a problem when you don’t have contact names. Earlier in the trip, we flew out of a lesser airport when a larger one about the same distance from us, with more and probably less-expensive flights would have been easier. I lost confidence in our travel agent’s judgement regarding our itinerary and so did my own painstaking research on places to visit, accommodations, activities, driving routes and so forth. I’ve concluded that the trips Audley fashions are formulaic and designed for their profit and ease, thereby increasing their profit margins and resulting in decreased customer satisfaction, in our case. One of our party asked by email for an itemized report of how much the hotels, tours, airfares, etc. cost. They refused to furnish that information, indicating that “Unfortunately, due to contracts with our suppliers we are unable to provide an itemized breakout of costing. This is due to the fact that our partners offer us Audley Exclusive rates, which we are unable to advertise.” Obviously, we were asking for the rate we were being charged, not what Audley was being charged. Given the inordinately high cost of our trip, it would seem that they charge Audley a premium instead of a discount on their rates. During the planning of this trip we expressed our reservations with how things were going and never received the attention that we thought merited by senior-level staff—that would have gone a ways to recapturing some good will for the company but apparently it wasn’t considered worth their time or energy. The bottom line is that in spite of having a good time and things going pretty smoothly for the most part, we did not feel the trip was a good value. We would not use Audley Travel again and have shared our disappointment with our many friends in San Francisco, Boston and Cape Cod who travel regularly and widely for pleasure. I’ve suggested to them, that they’re better off designing their own trip or finding a well-respected agency who will be transparent in spelling out the costs of your trip and who puts a premium on client service, unlike Audley Travel.
I was surprised to see they had country specialists for all over the world but only had a majority white work force. I wanted to visit the Carribean, looking specifically for an authentic experience meeting with locals and having excursions. The woman helping me, a white female, admitted told me she had only been to my desired location for three days. Yet I am suppose to expect her to help me plan an authentic trip. I ended up going with an agency that had a diverse office and a representative from the country.
My trip to Italy this past January with three friends was memorable, in large part because of Audley. Our hotels were wonderful and located in areas that were safe and near attractions that we wanted to visit. The drivers Audley arranged for us were always prompt and the guides were very knowledgeable. Having our train tickets in hand before we ever left home was a time saver. We were especially grateful for good communication with our agent as we planned our trip and had many numbers to call if a problem arose, which never happened. I have already referred Audley to friends planning to travel abroad.
My husband and I travel extensively and was reluctant to use a tour company! We used Audley for our trip to Morocco. Our initial contact, Sarah Collins, was amazing. She really listened to our requests and put together a package that suited us well. Our guide/driver, Hicham, was a friendly local who accommodated us when we wanted vere from scheduled plans. I was sick and missed a day in our itinerary - all involved at Audley worked together to ensure our stay was comfortable and we were able get us back on track with hotels and planned experiences. I’m so impressed with the service of this company and plan to employ their services again when needing a bit of guidance.
My family and I booked our very first trip to Japan with Audley and it was as described as many of the others that posted a review. We planned this trip almost 9 months in advance. It was costly for what we found out prices actually were while there; our five year old was charged full priced on many things where we found out didn’t even need to be charged. The details of many things were not listed in our 100 pound itinerary that they wanted us to lug around. Who is going to read a 100 page itinerary? It’s too much nonsense and not enough details. Important details. Then when we needed to get ahold of someone, there was no one available until a few days later. Our original travel agent left the company mid way through our planning and someone else had picked up our trip planning. Many messages were not passed to the new person and I feel as though the ball got dropped in many aspects. We feel as though we lost out in at least three days because of what seems to be sales stuff (after reading the others reviews). We were put in 4 different hotels, two of which were very close to each other and very expensive. I feel as we were trusting them, we got taken advantage of in the end. We also did not get our follow up phone call after the trip as others have mentioned. Quite frankly, I’d rather not get one, because all I have heard from them has been excuses. I do not recommend Audley Travel at all, and I have strongly shared our experience in the end.
I've traveled quite a bit but traveling with Audley was a completely different experience and I often found myself thinking "this must be how a celebrity feels". With my private driver, private tours and the overall care that went into every detail made me an Audley customer for life! I highly recommend it! My trip was northern India and Nepal and those were places that I wouldn't have ever went to as a solo traveler without knowing I was going to be well taken care of. They may cost a little more but the value and knowledge they provide as well as having piece of mind is worth every penny!!
Great travel company! :)
We really enjoyed working with Audley, and specifically Briana Maiocco, to plan our honeymoon. Due to COVID, we ended up working with Briana over the course of almost 2 years as we had to deal with delaying our wedding, travel restrictions, and a couple itinerary changes. Briana was incredibly helpful in planning our original trip to South Africa and Seychelles – she put together a great itinerary that let us hit all the things we envisioned doing and she had lots of insights & suggestions throughout. Unfortunately we had to postpone then adjust our trip, but Briana was again incredibly helpful throughout that process. She was always very detail oriented and kept us up to date on the changing travel restrictions, requirements, and recommendations. We ultimately settled on an itinerary that included a couple different locations in Seychelles and we ended up having a really great trip. Briana was great throughout the process – she was always super responsive, friendly, and helpful. We were definitely well prepared for the trip by the time we departed. We were very happy with her suggestions on travel, accommodations, and activities and felt like we always had someone to reach out to if needed while we were abroad. From what we saw, Audley in general has strong relationships with local service companies in the countries they send their clients to. They really took care of all the little details like arranging for their local partners to meet you when you arrive, arranging for all your local transports & transfers, etc. They made things very easy for us & provided great service, which we appreciated.
While I sadly didn't get to travel on my intended, planned, and paid-for trip, Audley was very helpful in resolving my travel concerns. Way to go!!!!!
Audley Travel did such an incredible job on my trip to India. Excellent accommodations, incredible touring, the whole thing worked flawlessly start to finish. Seeing the leopards in Jawai and exploring Jaisalmer were such wonderful highlights. Already thinking about my next trip with Audley!
We had issues with our trip to Asia from Audley travel, Brad Kublin contacted us and heard our concerns. He went to bat for us with his local supplier and rectified the problem. Everybody walk away happy, Audley travel provided us with excellent customer service when things did not go as plan. I would recommend Audley to my friends and family.
Audley was one of the most amazing agencies I've done business with. I used them for a recent galapagos trip and they took care of every detail including the ones I never thought to consider
