That cruise from Rhode Island to Nantucket then Montauk one of the best vacation experiences we've had. I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU. My husband is quite picky when it comes to sail a boat that doesn't belong to him but he really enjoyed the electronics, the furling system and the overall performance of your boat (highly manoeuvrable and pretty fast!). In fact, he didn't want to rent a sailboat at all in the first place (had to work hard to convince him). He was 100% sure he would hate it. But because of you, he's now a strong fan of bareboat cruises. We are considering cruising the Exumas next year. Take care.

Le catamaran loué n'était pas prêt a l'heure convenu. le nettoyage n'a pas été effectué, les batteries de service a plat, impossibilité de se servir du pilote, c'est pas grave nous dit le préposé il suffira de mettre le moteur en marche. annexe dégonflée, pas de problème, on va la gonflée. sauf que le lendemain elle est de nouveau dégonflée, (logique vu quelle est percée). La G.V. est percée, les matériels de sécurité hors de fonctionnement. Bref cela serait trop long d’énuméré tous les manquement de cette société irresponsable dont le but recherché étant de se satisfaire du montant demandé pour la location du bateau, mais pas de satisfaire de clients. A déconseiller. Ils sont tellement malhonnête, hier mes amis et moi qui étions sur le bateau avons écrit 3 avis sur leur site et ils l'ont retiré. Ils n'ont même pas l'élégance de s'excuser pour louer un bateau en si mauvais étant .

As a bonus, they offer the internet on board (and that works by satellite, so you can get away from the coast) for a reasonable additional charge (less than $ 200 per week). It's really great. Mon conjoint et moi ne sommes pas des skippers avancés mais le personnel de Navtours a une approche qui rassure, tant pour la préparation du navire que dans les explications claires pour le naviguer. C'était la première moi que je louais un voilier et en toute franchise j'ignore comment ça se passe chez d'autres bareboat charters. Mais je me suis sentie très en confiance dès le départ avec Navtours et je les recommande haut la main. En bonus, ils offrent l'internet à bord (et qui fonctionne par satellite, donc on peut s'éloigner de la côte) moyennant quelques frais supplémentaires raisonnables (moins de 200$ par semaine). C'est vraiment formidable.

(Translated) In bareboat rental, the boat's level of preparation is very insufficient or even dangerous (1 day lost to replace a battery because the engines no longer started, fragile from the start). Full of abnormal worries (inadequate moorings, rusty and incomplete tool kit, navigation devices not interconnected, non-functional outboard, 1 broken oar, 220 plugs without warning and without adapter ...) and very limited technical support, we always had to suggest solutions and half of the questions were not answered. On arrival in Nassau, administrative staff as friendly as a prison door. (Staff boat ok). (Original) En location bareboat, niveau de préparation très insuffisant voir dangereux du bateau (1 journée perdue pour remplacer une batterie car les moteurs ne démarraient plus, fragiles depuis le début). Plein de soucis anormaux (amarres inadéquates, trousse à outils rouillée et incomplète, appareils de navigation pas interconnectés, hors bord non fonctionnel, 1 rame cassée, prises en 220 sans prévenir et sans adaptateur…) et support technique très limité, nous devions toujours suggérer des solutions et la moitié des questions n’étaient pas répondues. A l’arrivée à Nassau, personnel administratif aimable comme une porte de prison. (Staff bateau ok).

Wow! Spectacular cruise in the Bahamas! Everything ran like clockwork. Formalities after our arrival were quickly completed and we were super excited to finally get on board (we were a party of 2 couples of friends from Toronto Canada who booked together). We rented a Jeanneau 40 (3 cabins) and the boat was pristine. Had a wonderful two-week charter. Contacted the base once for a minor issue and got instant support. It's obvious to me that we dealt with a highly professional team and that their employees have been working for Navtours for many years.

Une employée est venue nous voir , nous pensions être dédommagés pour tous les inconvénients, non pas en argent mais juste un petit trois heures de plus pour le retour nous aurait satisfait , mais non... Sa réponse a été un insulte à notre intelligence.... Je pourrais continuer encore longtemps. Jamais je donnerai de bonnes références pour cette compagnie et leurs employés. Navtour : PLUS JAMAIS Avec les amis dont nous avons loué le Cashgar du 29 aout au 2 septembre nous étions 4 à avoir laissé un avis, Navtours sont tellement de mauvaise fois ils ont enlevé nos commentaires qui bien sûr n'étaient pas à leur avantage sur Facebook et nous ne pouvons plus émettre nos avis sur leur site Facebook. Pas trop honnête.....

I am a regular client at Navtours for over 12 years now. I do rent onto the lake Champlain and in the beautiful Bahamas. They have made me a good sailor after doing all my sailing class in Navtours sailing school. I could see how they work very hard to provide a great experience every time. Even sometime I can face small issues with the boat, I always get the support I need weather is to fix the problem onsite or giving me another boat. There is always a solution. The staff is kind and proactive. Thank you Navtours! You are making sailing accessible and a beautiful experience. I will see you on the lake this summer and in the Bahamas in winter 2018 :)

Poor experience I was sold a 4 day charter out of Nassau, and got a 1 night charter. We had to sleep at the marina in Nassau the first and last night. Also, they lied about small things. We were told that the alcohol on the island was expensive, and that they could provide it for us on board, free of hassle and at the going island price. The rates were enormous, and when we arrived we discovered that alcohol could be purchased cheaply everywhere.

BEWARE OF CHARTERING FROM NAVTOURS! We have been chartering in the British Virgin Islands for over 25 years with the Moorings. This year we decided to try the Exumas with NavTours. What a mistake to do business with this poor operator. The 45’ catamaran suffered from significant mechanical defects (specifically, the air conditioning in one berth was completely not functioning, a 2nd berth had poor (barely functioning) air conditioning in it; the generator also failed one night). Clearly these boats are not well-maintained like they are with a more substantial, charter operator like the Moorings. Not only was the boat poorly maintained, but the customer service was incredibly rude after the voyage was over. They basically took the position that “things go wrong on boats, that’s what happens.” In many ways, this was even more disappointing than the substantial problems with the boat. They missed multiple (easy) opportunities to make things right - clearly they do not value their reputation, or understand their client base. If you look at the number of 1-star reviews this Company gets, it’s obvious they are a lower caliber operator attempting to play in the luxury charter space. It seems that if things go fine, the vacation could be a good one. But it seems totally binary - again, judging by the number of totally dissatisfied customers, why bet your vacation by doing business with a company like this? Better to stick with a more established operator, with a stellar reputation. I hope this review is helpful to anyone thinking about chartering with NavTours - if you are, THINK TWICE ABOUT IT!!! Your time and hard earned vacation is too important to entrust to this company.
