Pour notre part, on n'a pas pris un circuit tout fait : Notre conseillère, Karolane, a su être à notre écoute au moment de la préparation pour nous proposer un voyage sur-mesure : plusieurs échanges mails/chat et plusieurs devis avant d'arriver à la formule qui nous convienne. Sur place : A notre arrivée, au 1er hôtel, le roadbook nous attendait. Tout le séjour s'est passé comme prévu, aucun pb de réservation. Les activités choisies nous ont toutes données satisfaction. Les hébergements étaient dans l'ensemble très bien situés et de bonne qualité. Karolane nous a également accompagné pendant notre voyage en répondant à nos questions. Il est rare qu'on mette 5* car on est exigeant mais là, on a été bluffé par cet organisme. 3 semaines superbes, très beau pays, des gens très sympathiques. Almost new SUV type car (Jeep Compass) rented at Thrifty with pick up in Montreal (convention center) and drop after more than 4000 kms in Toronto (Union Station): attention all declared drivers must be present at the take of the vehicle to sign the contract!? no attempt to sell unplanned benefits or insurances, by cons abandonment fees much lower than announced on the site ($ 100 against 400) ... good news to start the holidays! In addition the full of gas was made free of charge, contrary to what was advertised on the site (tank to make good on full!). All accommodations were of good quality, well located especially in Ottawa and Toronto, diversified from the very family-run B & B to the grand hotel to a few chain establishments. Always a very good welcome especially in hostels ... and lunches (small for us!) Gargantuan ... The Condos Natakam are very nice apartments with fully equipped kitchen, and a superb view of the St Lawrence. The cottage Mont Albert is also a comfortable establishment ideally located in the park of Gaspésie (remember to ask for picnic bags, very complete to break the crust at lunch during hiking). All planned activities were up to our expectations: whale safari, bear watching, boat cruises in Percé, the Thousand Islands and Niagara Falls. It should be noted that the natural parks whose entrances are paying, are very well arranged and maintained, well marked and marked trails, with very clear documentation available in the discovery centers. In short, perfectly successful holidays! Vols aller et retour avec Air Transat, sans soucis (n'oubliez pas vos écouteurs, sinon payant à bord !). Voiture de type VUS quasi neuve (Jeep Compass) louée chez Thrifty avec prise du véhicule à Montréal (centre des Congrès) et dépose après plus de 4000 kms à Toronto (Union Station): attention tous les conducteurs déclarés doivent être présents à la prise du véhicule pour signer le contrat !? pas de tentative de vendre des prestations ou assurances non prévus, par contre frais d'abandon beaucoup moins élevés qu'annoncés sur le site (100 $c contre 400)... bonne nouvelle pour démarrer les vacances! De plus le plein d'essence était fait gratuitement contrairement à ce qui était annoncé sur le site (réservoir à rendre bien sur plein!). Tous les hébergements étaient de qualité, bien situés surtout à Ottawa et à Toronto, diversifiés de l'auberge B&B très familial au grand hôtel en passant par quelques établissements de chaine. Toujours un très bon accueil surtout dans les auberges... et des déjeuners (petits pour nous !) gargantuesques... Les Condos Natakam sont des appartements très agréables avec cuisine tout équipée, et une vue superbe sur le St Laurent. Le gite du Mont Albert est aussi est établissement tout confort idéalement situé au sein du parc de Gaspésie (pensez à demander des sacs pique-nique, très complets pour casser la croute le midi lors de randos). Toutes les activités prévues étaient à la hauteur de nos espérances: safari aux baleines, observation des ours, croisières en bateau à Percé, dans les Milles Iles et aux chutes du Niagara. A noter que les parcs naturels dont les entrées sont payantes, sont très bien aménagés et entretenus, les sentiers bien indiqués et balisés, avec des documentations très claires à disposition dans les centres de découverte. Bref, vacances parfaitement réussies !

Voilà le résumé de notre séjour pour lequel nous serions satisfait si nous étions partis à une autre période de l’annee car nous avons payé 5400 € (hors avion) pour un Noël sur les fjords. La ferme 5 étoiles est un centre de vacances avec un service et des repas en relation avec ce type d’hébergement : cela ne nous pose pas de problème si ce n’est la encore que nous avons payé très cher à notre sens pour ce type de prestation. En prenant ce point en compte, une location directement chez le loueur aurait été sans doute plus intéressante... Petite précision : histoire d'éviter la réponse bateau d'Authentik Canada, je précise avoir vérifié le devis en ligne. Il est indiqué des frais de location à sens unique (en cliquant sur le lien ça parle ensuite de frais d'abandon de véhicule, ce qui ne correspond pas à la réalité au sens français du terme) : quand on s'adresse à un public francophone européen il serait un peu plus honnête d'utiliser un vocabulaire que le public comprendra. Pourquoi ne pas clairement indiquer des frais en cas de restitution dans une autre agence? Bref je pense que tant que vous n'indiquerez pas clairement ce point les évaluations négatives liées à ces frais continueront de s'accumuler. Un peu de professionnalisme et d'honnêteté !

Sinon, en effet, ils paraîssent meilleur marché que d'autres compagnies qui eux incluent tous les montants estimés dans le total. De plus, lorsque mes parents ont appelé pour faire part de leur surprise, on leur a répondu que la petite clause mentionnant les frais d'abandon se rapportaient à cela et que c'était de la faute aux différence linguistiques si ils n'avaient pas compris. Je trouve cela étonnant car j'habite au Québec depuis plusieurs années et je n'ai jamais entendu ce terme. Mes collègues et amis québecois non plus. Coming from the UK I had never heard of Authentik before, compared to other UK North American travel specialists they were so much cheaper that I was sceptical. Especially as there weren't many English reviews for me to go by. I needn't have been. Every part of the journey was made so easy by using their website. I would say that it is more dedicated to the elderly who do not want to organize anything (and again because each destination they will read the guide and decide on the activity to do) and who do not care at all about the budget. (Original) Déçu de cette agence et voyage non optimisé par rapport aux déplacements : Les lieux d'intérêts sont évidement bien car c'est là que les touristes se rendent. Cependant les trajets entre destinations ne sont pas du tout optimiser. Parfois il est préférable vers 17h en fin de journée de déjà rouler au moins 1h-1h30 vers la prochaine destination plutôt que d'en rouler 3h30-4h le lendemain matin. Avec Authentik vous êtes coincés sur place car ils vous ont réservé un hôtel trop loin de la prochaine destination. De plus le guide de voyage qu'ils vous donnent n'a rien d'exceptionnel pour le prix que vous payer au final... Si vous achetez le Routard ou le livre Michelin à 15 euros c'est encore mieux car il y a plus de choses dedans et de bons plans que ce que Authentik vous donne. De plus dans le guide d'Authentik, il n'y a pas toujours les adresses des activités (ou celles-ci sont mal indiquées), nous avons du plusieurs fois essayer de trouver internet pour savoir où se trouve l'endroit. Pour ce qui est des logements, ok ils sont bien placés par rapport au lieu d'intérêt mais nous avons été déçu sur plusieurs points. D'abord les prix d'Authentik sont parfois beaucoup plus chère que si vous commandez vous même (c'est pourquoi nous avons commandé le maximum par nous même en faisant une comparaison). Puis déception parfois lors de l'arrivée sur place. Par exemple : Lord Elgin : ce n'était pas la même chose que sur la photo au niveau de la chambre reçue. Hôtel Bond Place : la chambre n'était pas lavée quand nous sommes arrivé, le sol collait dire qu’on nous a dit que la chambre était prête. De plus, Authentik nous avait pas pris l’option de la chambre avec le wifi. Si nous le voulions, il fallait payer 12$ de nous même. Avec le prix que nous payons avec Authentik c’est hallucinant que nous n’avons pas droit au wifi. Pour ce qui est de notre "conseillère" (dont je ne citerai pas le nom), très déçu également. Celle-ci à mi un temps fou pour répondre à nos demandes, il y avait TOUJOURS des erreurs ou des "oublis" dans les devis que nous recevions. Nous avions bien eux sans exagérer 6-7 devis différent avant d'obtenir ce que nous avions demandé dire que tout était claire dans nos mails envoyés. A croire qu'elle était pressée de conclure et que nous payons. Encore une fois, avec le prix qu'ils nous demandent c'est fou qu'il y ait autant d'erreur dans la réservation et que nous devons tout vérifier avec attention. Pour résumé, je dirai qu'Authentik est très très chère par rapport à ce que c'est réellement. Nous attendions beaucoup du "guide de voyage" et des logements réservés via eux et nous avons été déçu sur les deux points. Cela ne convient pas aux jeunes jusqu'à 45 ans car c'est beaucoup plus efficace et moins chère d'organiser son voyage soi-même. Je dirai que c'est plus dédié aux personnes âgées qui n'ont pas du tout envie d'organiser quoi que ce soit (et encore car à chaque destination ils devront lire le guide et se décider sur l'activité à faire) et qui ne se soucient pas du tout du budget.

Pour en finir, je pense qu'il serait souhaitable qu'Autentik Canada prenne vraiment en compte ce type de réservation,la transfère au Fournisseur et lors du paiement ou du versement de l'acompte, nous (clients) soyons mis au courant de la disponibilité réelle (et non hypothétique) des options demandées ou de ne pas les proposées sur le site mais nous invitant à prendre contact avec le loueur/fournisseur. Sinon, nous avons passé un magnifique séjour dans la belle province de Québec et grandement apprécié les sublimes couleurs de l'été des indiens.

In late summer 2019, I worked with representatives of Authentik Canada to plan a trip to the Banff area. Authentik billed me a total of $3987 CAN which I paid in two payments – one for $1,196 CAN on October 22, 2019 and the second for $2,791 CAN on February 19, 2020. The trip was scheduled to start on September 1, 2020. COVID and the resulting closure of the Canadian border made the trip impossible. Authentik agreed to extend the trip to September of 2021 but for an additional $400 CAN. This additional amount was due July 18, 2021. I never paid the additional amount because in June 2021 PM Trudeau announced that the border closure because of COVID was being extended at least into July and probably longer. That meant that the probability of trip occurring was highly unlikely. Authentik agreed to cancel the trip but they would refund me only $3,389 CAN leaving $598. Authentik told me that I would have to pursue reimbursement of the $598 with the Canadian Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents. At the time of making their suggestion of petitioning CFCTA, Authentik reps knew that the form for doing so required the affirmation of a Canadian Commissioner of Oaths, which is impossible for a US citizen to obtain under the current COVID border closure. I even tried to get assistance from the Canadian Consulate in Denver to no avail. The $598 represents 15% of the original $3987, which Authentik pointed out to me was better than 30% they could keep under the terms of the original contract BEFORE COVID hit. In other words, they were doing me a big favor by taking only 15% for no services. Now, the problem with this attitude by Authentik is that I had three other trips planned for the same year with four providers and when COVID hit, these other trip providers gave full refunds, because they realized the special circumstances presented by COVID and they did the honorable things by refunding the full payments made to them. Authentik did not. In addition, the trip to the Banff area was planned to be a camper van trip with stays at various campgrounds. Authentik did a poor job of selecting campgrounds and campsites. I had to give them instructions which they failed to meet because they were late in making reservations.
