What a fun way to get an overview of interesting sites in Québec. Our guide Valérie was engaging and entertaining, and did a great job handling a big group on one of the busiest tourism days of the year. Was the perfect amount of cheesey and history. Loved hearing different stories about old Quebec and strange things people did. Our guide was interesting and knowledgeable - although when she told the stories it was very scripted either she was newer or they must have to say the exact words. When she told anecdotes or answered questions she was much for personable! Be prepared to walk and go up hills. Pace was slow and little breaks were given to break up the hills. I wish that we could have entered more buildings but i understand. We did go into a dark and old building to end the tour and that was neat!! Would love to go around halloween.

The use of the pauses between the scary parts of the stories gave me goose bumps, a girl dropped the lid of her popcorn lid on one of them, it was perfect. Fun and entertaining tour. A great tour guide full of interesting historical tales about the area. Most of the locations are not overly spooky but the stories that are told can be. The tour also ends in one of the most haunted buildings in Quebec. I wouldn't recommend you take young children due to some of the story content. Note: bring your walking shoes.

Going on an evening during the week, is probably the best time to do this. We just finished one this evening. Having a small group and a wonderful tour guide made for a intimate experience of knowledgeable historic tales and bone chilling tales of things that went on in old Quebec. Enjoyed the tour and highly reccomend it!

Yes it's a teeny bit cheesy but still fun and great value. The guides are well versed and friendly, and the route chosen is charming. The last stop inside a church was super memorable and creepy! You start down below at the port and end up in the old town near Chateau Frontenac. Just dress warm (we did the 8pm tour in English and for sure it was chilly!), and you'll have a blast! Also note that the meeting point is not at the office, but slightly further along the same street.

My husband and I went to Old Quebec for a mini honeymoon and from the moment we drove into town we were questioning what was with the interesting people wearing cloaks and holding lanterns. We found out that it was a ghost tour... not something one typically does for a romantic honeymoon, but it we were very interested so we called them to get on their wait list. The next day they called us back with availability. Unfortunately this was the night we had already planned to make our "most romantic night", dressing up, reservations for an expensive dinner, staying at the Chateau Frontenac, etc. We decided to do the ghost tour anyway... and wow we're glad we did. The tour was extremely reasonably priced, especially for how long it was. Our tour guide Thomas was such a good performer. watching him and listening to him was like reading a very good book, the way he described stories had be seeing them! Words can't explain how much fun we had and if we ever go back to Old Quebec for another holiday, you can bet we'll do this tour again! We've already recommended it to everyone who has asked us about our mini-honeymoon.

I don't remember if our guide told us his name (a bearded man with brown hair who is a little gray), but he did an admirable acting job. His very low-key, silent and mysterious air between places suddenly transforms into a captivating storyteller who even borrows the voices of the characters from his stories (he managed to get me smiles on several occasions). It was captivating and very entertaining, I could have listened to it for hours on end. Well done. (Original) Je connais pourtant bien le Vieux-Québec mais cette visite guidée accompagnée d'histoires de fantômes m'a fait découvrir une autre facette surprenante de la ville. Je ne me rappelle pas si notre guide nous a dit son nom (un barbu aux cheveux brun qui grisonne un peu), mais il a fait un travail d'acteur admirable. Son air très discret, silencieux et mystérieux entre les lieux se transforme soudainement en un raconteur captivant qui emprunte même la voix des personnages de ses histoires (il a réussi à me décroché des sourires à plusieurs reprises). Il a été captivant et très divertissant, j'aurais pu l'écouter encore durant des heures. Bravo.

Our guide was Michael and he did a fine job. The tour was mostly fun and just a little corny, but that's typical of these things. But, what was not typical was the very brisk pace expected from all as we dashed from one site to another in order to stay within the allotted time; it will likely be very demanding for most people even slightly physically challenged. (As my wife is) We understood the tour required moving between the lower and upper towns, but we didn't expect to have to move up the steep and winding streets at such a pace. There *REALLY* should be some caution in the tour description for potential guests who are older or slightly physically constrained. *Be aware that if you join this tour you will be expected to keep up a very brisk pace while climbing steep cobblestone streets. (After coming here to write this, I noticed some previous reviews that also expressed the very same concern. But, still no effort has been made by the tour company to modify the tour's description) Also, during our tour, a mother and young daughter had to leave due to gory retellings of historic events. To be fair, our guide warned the group just prior to the gory details, but again, this is something that should be cautioned by this tour company -- in advance.

I love Quebec City and have been there before, but had never taken this tour. I was aware of some of the stories told, such as the sinking of the Empress of Ireland. I did not know of the darker sides that Michael, our tour guide, related. He had a very commanding voice and the evening was so interesting that we were stopped a couple of times as we walked about the cobble stoned streets and asked for information as to how others could join such a tour. It takes you into places that you wouldn't normally see and at times that those places are closed. It reveals tales that they might not tell you...such as the public hangings. At the end, we went into a church and that's where I snapped my photo, more for a lark than anything else. I was surprised at what I got back. The people in the group with us were from various places, mostly in the U.S. They were a fun bunch. As I said, Michael was very engaging. I would highly recommend that people do this tour.

The cast of creepy chracters was phenomenal! I really enjoyed the tour and the chilling stories they invoke. It was not only well acted and very fun but interesting and thought provoking. Thomas and the very hilarious yet also terrifying members of the tour only added to the experience! I felt continuously involved in the plot of the characters and was onboard for every step of the way! I loved it.

Valerie was great!!! It was definitely entertaining and a good way to spend an evening. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting! The only thing I would say is that $20 per person may be a bit much, but honestly I don't regret spending it on this tour.

Good information and length but our guide sucked... Our tour guide introduced himself as an actor, not a historian so he might not be able to answer some questions, his job is to entertain... I assumed that meant he might be able to answer... Something... Off script. He knew the script incredibly well, even apologized once for not repeating the words exactly but he only talked when he would arrive at a script location, the five minute walls in between each stop he spent on silence. A good tour guide should be able go off script in between and entertain or at least be able to answer something... Most questions the group asked he ignored, as if he didn't hear them and the ones we made sure he heard he had no answers, questions that should have been pretty common. If you get a good guide you'll probably have a great experience as it is very interesting content and you get to see some great sites around the city.

First, our guide, Thomas, did an amazing job even though he wasn't feeling the best. This is a great activity to do after all the museums close. I got a great little tour of the city, learned a lot of history, and while it wasn't so scary that I wouldn't sleep after, I was a little creeped out from time to time. Thomas, the guide, did a great job at bringing the stories to life and answering any questions we threw at him. Once the tour ends you'll wind up in a perfect spot to get a drink or dessert. Highly recommend!

Just a series of stories told dramatically, less about haunted places or ghost sightings. I was hoping to be taken to a building, and told about the ghost that lives there. not my kind of ghost tour, but the guide was super entertaining and dramatic. Ends with a really cool inside look at an old Church in the dark.

Excellent tour guide, fascinating stories about the darker history of Quebec. Includes a surprise visit at the end which topped off the evening. However, we had a stroller in our group which had to leave halfway through the tour. Bringing one is certainly not recommended. And I hope management discourages the use of them in the future. Also, you need to be in decent shape to walk on the steeper parts. Definitely worth the admission though!

Tour Details - August 17th 2017 8pm English Tour Guide - Michael WOW! what a great addition to our Quebec trip. For 20 bucks per person we had a guided story telling of haunted past events around Old Quebec. Michael put on a great performance and was an excellent guide. My wife and I brought two kids both aged 6 years and our nine month old baby. Old Quebec is a tough city to navigate with a stroller let alone trying to keep up with a tour however we were lucky and had help from people on the tour which made navigating easier. Hands down a great experience and for the price the best dollar for dollar entertainment value.

Great tour and great stories. Tour guide Sarah was fine. Website says tour is 90 minutes but it is longer than that, and the only way to come close to the 90-minute mark is to speed walk between stops. Should really be a warning on the website about the speed at which you must walk and the number of steep hills you must climb in a row. If you are asthmatic and it is a humid day, make sure you have your inhalers. I almost didn't make it, and had to use my medications about two-thirds of the way into the tour. Would have given it 5 stars if we weren't so rushed between stops.
