I had paid for a package that had to include three meals a day, when I arrived in Ecuador, the school (Instituto Superior de Espanol - school that I would not recommend for that matter) offered me only two meals a day. I then asked the VTE agency to compensate me for this and it refused in the first place. I had to threaten to make a formal complaint and send them a formal notice for her to finally agree to compensate me for it! In addition, when I returned, I spoke with my advisor at the VTE agency (Maria). I told her some of the problems I encountered during my language studies and all Maria could answer was, "Well, is there anything you liked about your experience? J’avais payé pour un forfait qui devait inclure trois repas par jour, à mon arrivée en Équateur, l’école (Instituto Superior de Espanol – école que je ne recommanderais pas d’ailleurs) ne m’offrait que deux repas par jour. J’ai alors demandé à l’agence VTE de me compenser pour cela et celle-ci a refusé en premier lieu. Il a fallu que je les menace de faire une plainte formelle et de leur envoyer une mise en demeure pour qu’elle accepte finalement de me compenser pour cela! De plus, lors de mon retour, j’ai parlé avec ma conseillère à l’agence VTE (Maria). Je lui ai raconté quelques problèmes que j’ai rencontrés lors de mon séjour linguistique et tout ce que Maria a su répondre était : « Ben voyons, y a-t-il quelque chose que t’as aimé de ton expérience? » Au prix que nous payons pour ce type de séjour, la moindre des choses serait un peu d’empathie et du service à la clientèle. Une réponse du genre « Je suis désolée d’apprendre cela. » aurait été appréciée. Bref, ma conseillère a été rude, n’a pas voulu me rembourser pour un service que j’avais payé et l’agence fait affaire avec une école que je ne recommanderais pas.
