Try the lake cruise on a sunny and clear day and you will be elated. It's so lovely to be cruising on the largest and deepest lake of Banff National Park. Alot of stories to tell from the interpretive cruise. This lake is often overlooked by tourists who are more into lake louise or moraine lake. This is not Glacial fed lake but it has natural springs from the bottom.

The waters are nice and you get scenic views. Make sure to go at times when the boat is not packed as there's only limited capacity for standing on the deck. It's not as much fun when it's crowded as you'll be inside the cruise for the majority of the time

Great staff and crew. However, the cruise was a little boring after the first 10 minutes and even the entertaining stories told by the crew were unable to keep me awake. Being a local, I was able to experience this cruise for free but I can't imagine paying $50 to experience this.

This was a beautiful tour. The guide explained us a lot about the Rockies. The rest of the staff was super nice to me as well. Everybody was smiling and friendly. They all seems to enjoy their job. The employee named Paule gave us great advices about the places and other activities to do around.

The lake cruise was lovely, and the tour guide (Shae?) And driver were knowledgable and fun! The family friendly tour was interactive and had good stories about the lake. If you're seeking a little more, a brews cruise departs daily, where you can sample local ales and eats.

This is one of two lake cruises in the National Parks... the other one being Maligne Lake in Jasper. It is an awesome boat ride to the end of the lake and to a point where the mountains end and the Prairies begin. It is very informative and the chances of seeing various animals along the lake shore or in the mountains are high. It is a bit expensive per person but it is worthwhile to do at least once while in Banff National Park.

If you travel to Banff, do not miss this stop and a tour of these beautiful mountains. Dress warm, even in the summer. The wind bites and it is marvelous. Enjoy some delicious food too.

The captain and your guide clearly love their jobs they are funny and informative. The boat cruise was beautiful and we learned a lot about the local First Nations history of the lake and local animals. I got a lot of beautiful pictures too.

This google map pin is not right, the cruise is at lake minawanka, and a lot people direct to here, but actually it's an HR office, so google please change to pin. The lake is absolutely awesome, the lake water is so blue, and the boat guide guy is fantastic, feel like a broadway actor and make everyone so comfortable and enjoyable.

We had booked tickets for a 1pm ride and didn't budget our time very well with a 4 year old, we called and they moved our tickets to 2pm with no issue. The staff were friendly and the tour guides were fantastic. Jordan was very knowledgeable along with his sidekick Alex, it made for a perfect ride. The only thing is I wish they had a proper sidewalk to get down to the area where the little food shop is and boat launch etc. With a small child it's always much safer with that extra precaution!

I would NOT recommend buying tickets for this cruise on a weekend afternoon. We had 12:00 pm tickets for the cruise and spent over 40 minutes looking for parking. We eventually had to walk down to the dock to get our refund. It wasn't a great experience as we had sad kiddos that were looking forward to the cruise.

My husband and I came to the cruise on our honeymoon and we had Jordan as our captain and Daniel as our guide. The tour was so amazing and the views were breathtaking but the highlight was without a doubt Jordan and Daniel they were so nice and personable! My husband grew up on a farm and is a John Deere lover and the guys let him look at the John Deere engine in the boat.... Safe to say my husband had the time of his life!!!! None of it would have happened without Jordan and Daniel!!!! Thank you guys so much for this amazing experience!!!!! Definitely the highlight of our honeymoon

I would say that it would be nice if their was some sort of final destination as for the price, it is quite expensive compared to the lake Maligne cruise for example. If you're in Banff area and want to experience local sights and history, look no further. Go to the gondola, buy the package for both gondola and lake cruise, save $40. Well worth it for both when gondola was $60 lake cruise i believe was $80. Package deal of $99 no special membership.

A fun, family-friendly time. There was good commentary throughout the cruise which was an opportunity to learn about early inhabitants of the area - both human AND animal! It's a very nice place to spend time ashore as well. There are picnic tables for family gatherings. Enjoy!

During a recent trip to Canmore, we decided to take the Lake Minnewanka Cruise and go see some beautiful views. Due to COVID the tourist presence at the lake was minimal, this made for an extremely enjoyable experience. There was no more than 15 people on our boat, which gave us plenty of room and ample time to use the outside deck for photos/sight seeing. The tour guide told great stories about the lake and the local area. It was a nice relaxing way to spend the morning. I would have to agree with other posts that the price is a little high but other than that no complaints, it was a nice excursion to do during our trip.

The tour company here has quite an impressive and well organized set up. We had Ken and Kennedy as our captain and guide and they did a great job. We went at 10am (on a Tuesday in June) and practically had the boat to ourselves so we got a bit more of a personal experience which was what I prefer anyways. We did the one-hour tour and I think the longer one would be of better value so that you could see more of the lake. Regardless, our crew was knowledgeable and warm and it was a great start to our day.

Good experience, and not too busy on the boat. The scenery is great, and the staff know a lot about the lake itself. It’s not boring per se, but after the first half hour, you see the same sights over again. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is that it is a bit pricey for the experience, although this is coming from someone who grew up in Calgary. Otherwise, would recommend for people travelling to the Banff area from other counties.

On a day when the weather was being unpredictable we headed to Lake Minnewanka with our 3 year old. The sun broke through the clouds so we decided to book a cruise and walk about for a couple hours before it docked. We grabbed some food from the Cafe spot, everything was really tasty and the young man working gave great service. We spotted a fox while waiting, exciting for our toddler to see. When we loaded onto the boat it was great to see that they had social distancing measures in place. The three of us sat in the first seated row together. Our tour guide was Melissa, and she was fantastic! Sitting in the front really made the experience for us. Melissa made the tour educational in the best way, the way that keeps you engaged and excited to keep learning. She was amazing at story telling. The view of the mountains and lake was beautiful too, we really lucked out with the weather. I would have opted not to go had it been overcast or rainy, as the beautiful clear coloured water is what I love the most about the lake. On our tour we had the opportunity to stop the boat and turn the engines off, to experience the water and peace for a moment. That was awesome. I would definitely recommend this tour for those that like to learn about history along with stunning views. This is not a quiet, relaxing type of “cruise”. We learned so much and talked about it for hours after. I plan to take my daughter again. when she’s older

Rented a boat on beautiful Lake Minnewanka. Nice 16 foot boats with 9hp motors. Tried fishing, didn't catch anything. Rental was very reasonable if you go at the right time. Make sure you get there early to ensure you can get a boat. Weekdays also seem better for availability. Be sure to stop for ice cream afterwards

Really good tour. If you want the best seats sit at the back of the boat outside. Although the engine is quite loud you get lovely fresh air and a cooling mist from the water (in the summer).

A beautiful lake by Banff that has great mountain views. Washrooms are available and a snack bar. Hiking a bit will take you through to see more views. It gets choppy on the water so stay near shore in a canoe or kayak. Enjoy !

Under non-COVID-19 conditions I would have enjoyed the tour, but we were disappointed that the social distancing on the boat was not as-promised by the staff and as described on the website. We were *not* provided any seating separation between other passengers which left my family feeling unsafe and claustrophobic on the boat. We would not have booked the cruise having known this. The boat departed about 5 minutes late to allow some extra passengers on at the last minute, who were seated in the (reserved) empty seats next to my family. While I understand that the staff was resolving some sort of scheduling conflict, I would encourage them to follow their COVID-19 guidelines above all else to keep passengers feeling safe.

We had tons of fun on the cruise. The captain and tour guide did an amazing job. The scenery was amazing. Learned something new about Lake Minnetonka and its history. Loved it! It was very organized. You might ask why I gave them a 3/5 stars if our experience was so positive? The supervisor informed us there'd be a few minutes wait before boarding because they had to "sanitize for your safety" with air quotes, during Covid time. That made us feel like they didn't really care about our safety. If they don't take a global pandemic seriously, what other safety aspects do they not take seriously?

Huge late with a cruise service and also motor boar and kayak rentals. Cruises are pretty full so you may need to wait. They go out hourly and last 1 hour. Not cheap about $50USD per adult but its very nice and crew is super friendly and gave tons of info. Motor boat was $89CAD for 2 hours with 5 ppl max on a boat. Nice to go along the coast line as long as its not too windy

We brought a group to Lake Minnewanka and took two boats out into the lake for a scenic lake cruise. The tour guides were very friendly and provided a safe, fun experience for our group. We really enjoyed it! I'd highly recommend this lake cruise to anyone wanting to see the majestic Rockies from the water, and enjoy a very picturesque trip out on the lake.

Captain Dan and guide Sam are great! They are so interesting and interactive with the people on board. We learned so much about some Canadian history that we had no idea about. It even goes back 13,000 years and to WWII. It was a beautiful ride on the water. We are all going through COVID-19 together, and it was a fabulous way to learn some history and be in nature. Renting a speedboat was really fun for the first half an hour - however, the second half was ruined through the engine not starting up again and noone answering our calls on the helpline - after about 20 minutes of being stranded in the lake, a nearby boat saw us and the experienced guy on there managed to help start us up again (after trying a lot of different things) - we were offered 33% off compensation which was a good gesture but should have been more - that said, cool lake to visit.

Great ride to be on with family. 2 Captains take you on the boat cruise while they educate you about Lake Minnewanka's history. I went there with my family and we enjoyed our experience. At some point they let you sit at the bad and take pictures or make videos close to the water. It's about an hour long but time passes by pretty quickly.

Very fun even though it was lightly raining at first which didn't effect our cruise in a negative way. The boat is covered and the windows open and I was able to take clear photos. Half way through the tour the boat stops for a short time to take in the views. The boat turns around so you can now see the opposite side on the way back. The guide will tell you about the history and landlarks. The guide was informative and funny. He will show you samples and pass out info cards and ask the tourists questions. They also offer a booze cruise for almost $20 more in the evening and if you live in alberta you get a discount and must prove your address. In the same location there is a coffee shop, boat, canoe, kayak rentals.

Unlike the Maligne Lake cruise, the Banff Lake cruise doesn't take you to a spectacular view. However, we had an excellent guide, who is a local, and explained about the forest regeneration, wildlife and history. Worth doing the cruise if you would like the commentary. Otherwise you can just hire a boat. They have motor boats and peddle boats. Views around the lake are beautiful. There is a nice walk along the lake to Stewart Canyon. The Canyon itself isn't great though.

My family went on the Lake Minnewanka cruise yesterday on a beautiful day! Kennedy was our captain and Daniel our tour guide! They were awesome! Daniel was super knowledgeable and made the cruise so interesting and informative! Even my 6 and 13 year old were intrigued! The views were beautiful and the cruise was the perfect length! Would 10/10 definitely recommend!!

We took the family cruise and it was amazing. The crew, captain Jordan and Will, were great with the kids and everyone learned a lot about the lake and the history there. After the cruise, my daughter's map view away into the water and she was upset. One of the other boats captains see and not only replaced the map, but also have her something extra. All the staff were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond our expectations. I would recommend this cruise for families!

This lake cruise was an absolute rip off. I only did it because I bought the complete explorer package. Weather wasn't good to begin with as the skies were smokey from wildfires. That was fine as they can't control the weather. Basically on this "cruise," they take the boat right to the middle of the lake and back within the hour. They don't go closer to the shore to even give you a chance to spot wildlife. When I questioned why we are just in the middle of the lake, the guide said the captain thinks that it's too smokey and that we are unlikely to see any animals. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't think this is reason enough to avoid the shores. The guide was good and informative and was totally fine until he went for a joke comparing a Kardashian's behind with a black bear's behind. Highly inappropriate and frankly tasteless. Again, don't bother with this cruise. It's a complete waste of money and time.

Absolutely loved the cruise! Speaker was very insightful too. Easy and quick transit ride right from Banff or you can drive up too. They don't allow strollers on board but were very helpful in securing it behind the shop for easy pickup after the cruise.

We wanted to give ourselves a little treat so woke up very early & chose to drive down for the Lake Minnewanka boat ride/cruise. I had bought the tickets the previous night with hope of making the 11am ride. Unfortunately, it took us about 15 mins or more to find a parking spot & we missed our scheduled ride. We were able to get on the one at noon though. It was a very pleasant ride, social distancing protocols were observed on the boat & we all had face masks on. It was such an enjoyable experience listening to a lot of historical facts about the lake. Only reason for 4 star was because parking was a bit of a let down.

We also did the Gondola ride today and it was expensive but the view was just impressive although part of the upper deck was closed for a private function and nothing was said about this when we purchased our tickets, why do these businesses think they have the right to rip hard working people off....oh I forgot this is BANFF

Thought this was VERY expensive for the experience. It’s a quite short cruise on a covered boat which is quite small and cramped so actually difficult to see the landscape, which I thought was the point of a cruise like this (I don’t know of a similar cruise in Europe where the roof isn’t transparent). Guide did a fun job with his material, but you don’t learn much about the actual surroundings (like, which mountain is which) but instead get the same general local/animal info you’ll get on any tour in the area. Overall, way way WAY overpriced and very disappointed because of it.

The cruise was scenic and definitely worth it. The best view is definitely from the back of the boat. UNFORTUNATELY my group and I were quite disturbed by our tour guide, Lo. I can appreciate that the tour was targeted towards children (regarding some of the tour content) but that aside, I found some of what she was saying highly inappropriate. She went into detail about her personal life-It was just off putting and it would’ve been much better if she gave more information about the place we were in. My sister asked where the lake connected to and the answer she gave made it clear she didn’t know. I would’ve also loved to hear more about the indigenous peoples of the area or more info about the mountains. We found it best to go to the back of the boat and just appreciate the scenery.

I couldn’t thank captain Alisa enough for the wonderful experience my family had on the Lake Minnewanka cruise today! Captain Alisa is so passionate, knowledgeable and patient. She taught my 4 year old boy how to operate a boat, and answered all questions that my little boy asked. Together with Lauren our tour guide, they gave us the most memorable cruise experience. Also the views were beautiful! I definitely would recommend Lake Minnewanka cruise to all my friends which I already did. paid $64 to sit three across from a window in the middle of a busload of miserable/rude/sleeping tourists, be driven halfway across the lake which I couldn’t really see with no chance of taking photos (there was a short opportunity to go to the tiny deck at the back but I couldn’t because of the aforementioned gaggle of oblivious and incredibly rude visitors) and be given a picture of some berries like a kid on a school trip. It was a beautiful experience. Sheldon and Captain Dan made me see Lake Minnewanka in a whole new way. Taking the free bus from Banff allowed us to relax and enjoy the view. One criticism is that there should be bathrooms closer to the launch.

It is good the kid is very young becuase if he would have been little older that would have left him a really bad impression and felt unwanted should also teach this people some people skills. Bought the ultimate explorer package which included the cruise on lake minnewanka. This is a must see attraction. The views and scenery are breathtaking. Staff is very friendly and informative during the tour.Our tour guide was Becca. She was excellent. As she gave us historical facts about the place, she passed around pictures and information cards. They take you half way down the lake and turn the boat off for a little while so you can take in the area around you. It was so peaceful, that I felt I could be there forever. Enough time to take pictures. Tour lasts about an hour. Highly recommend this cruise.

Andrew and Matt were incredible! We didn't expect much from the cruise and it was just a bundled package inclusion. However, we had so much fun and enjoyed the beauty and history of this place. Very engaging and fun tour. Andrew gave a lot of great recommendations. We even asked were to see some wild animals and we did spot some wildlife as per his recommendation. Thank you! Had a wonderful experience at the Lake Minnewanka Cruise! It was very informative and fun experience. Melissa was an amazing Captain and Mckenzie had an awesome sense of humour. Would recommend this tour to anyone! Definitely worth the visit, especially with these two ladies. All COVID rules were respected and enforced by the Captains on the boat and made us feel very safe.

This cruise on Lake Minnewanka is definitely worth doing. The boats are comfortable and clean. No restrooms on the boats. This lake is beautiful. It is also 22 kilometres long so the cruise only takes you have way before turning around. To cruise the entire lake and back would take close to 3 hours! The guide on the boat is very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed the cruise and learning so much about beautiful Lake Minnewanka.

If your someone who enjoys your peace and quiet while enjoying nature this probably isn’t for you as the tour is fully narrated the whole time with stories and very loud but besides that the scenery was breathtaking and staff was very friendly just not for us.

A large group of 25 people arrived 25 minutes after there booked time left so they came aboard our boat. No worries, no issues until they allowed them to board first and take all the good seats. What was the point of being there early standing near the front of the cue and being forced to sit in the left over seats

If weather is not good probably not worthy of taking the cruise. The guide is very knowledgeable and keeps talking and introducing knowledge. It is very cold even in early July!

I took 1 star off because we stood in line for 45 mins which was fine. But to find out that you had to pay with a credit card, which it NEVER stated that's all they accept when you walk down the dock. If we had known then we would have walked back to grab our card. But we were in line for 45 mins already. Thankfully my niece saved us all the trouble of running back. They need to make a sign prior to you entering the line that it's credit card only.

Me my husband and baby went there yesterday. We enjoyed it a lot, this was my second time on the cruise, but I specifically enjoyed it this time because of Sir Will, he was very informative, and it is very delightful listening to him. I am supposed to be taking on the views, but his stories were so engaging that we were paying more attention to him, good thing we had the whole time sailing back to enjoy the views. (Translated) Minnewanka seems suitable for trekking and picnics There are many famous tourist points in the Rockies, but Minne Wanka and Lake Thu Jack seem to be a good place for trekking and excursions. Lake Minnewanka is quite large and has many people. It's not a national park's toilet, but it's clean like a lake. It's so close to Canmore that it's a good idea to do it together when you're drawing a copper wire. It is introduced as a place where you can see a lot of wild animals, but I did not see much. If autumn leaves fall, the mountains and sky reflected in the calm lake will be spectacular. There is a small cafe where you can have snacks and drinks. Parking may be difficult due to the narrow parking lot, but it is not a point for group tourists and is not secreted. On the way back from seeing Minnewanka, Tatchuk Lake was filled with excursions. There were many people playing water and riding canoes. The water is cold but not the same color as the glacial lake. But it is beautiful in deep blue. Even if you don't take a walk, it's a good drive as well. And it's convenient to draw the same line close to Banff Village. (Original) 미네완카는 트레킹과 소풍에 적당한 듯 로키에 유명한 관광포인트가 많지만 미네완카와 투잭 호수는 트레킹과 소풍하기에 적당한 곳인 듯하다. 미네완카호수는 그 규모가 상당하고 사람들도 많다. 국립공원 푸세식 화장실이 아니라 루이스호수와 같이 수세식으로 깨끗해서 좋다. 캔모어와 가까워 동선을 짤 때 같이하면 좋을 것 같다. 야생동물을 많이 볼수 있는 곳이라고 소개되어 있지만 정작 난 많이 보지 못했다. 가을에 단풍이 진다면 잔잔한 호수에 비친 산과 하늘이 장관을 이룰 것 같다. 작은 카페가 있어 간식과 음료를 마실수 있다. 주차장이 협소해서 주차가 어려울 수 있으나 단체 관광객의 포인트는 아니라 분비지는 않는다. 미네완카를 보고 돌아오는 길에 들린 투짹호수는 소풍객으로 가득했다. 물 놀이와 카누를 타는 사람이 많았다. 물이 차갑지만 빙하호와 같은 색을 띠지는 않는다. 하지만 깊은 푸른색으로 아름답다. 드라이브 코스로도 좋으니 산책하지 않더라도 봄 가을에 설경과 단풍 여름에 소풍장소로 좋을 것 같다. 그리고 밴프 빌리지와 가까워 같은 동선을 짜면 편리하겠다.

The guys who ran the boat tried to make it fun but it wasn’t really all that interesting. Cramped boat, A very small lake, not easy to take photos as you are mostly inside and there is only a small outside platform. The worst thing was the shocking price, $135 for two adults 50 mins....a total rip off so best avoided.

Very picturesque. The guide, whose name unfortunately escapes me, was informative and amusing. (We took the 10am boat on June 27, so they can check the record for him.) The cruise was just an hour long, which suited us fine. If there's a drawback, the literature promised we'd see some animals, but as the guide noted, the morning is not an auspicious time for spotting them.

The staff is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour itself is quite boring and probably good for younger children only. The scenery is beautiful, but you don't have to get on a 50 dollars cruise to enjoy it. The normal cruise goes only half way though the lake and then returns. If it's not too cold, sitting outside is your best bet to enjoy the view. Overall, not worth it.
