My friend reserved this Jeep for us to go to wedding in. However, since the borders between Ontario and Quebec were not opening the wedding was postponed. The cancellation policy of the company stipulated that if you cancel 30 days before you can get a full refund, or else you only get 50% refunded. We found out 2 days after the cut off point for getting a full refund. On top of having zero leniency when it comes to their cancellation policy (even during covid times where everything is uncertain)... the company has still not given us the 50% that is due and instead has given us a credit we can use within the next 2 years. The bottom line... this company is having issues dealing with the uncertainty of the covid times and has decide the best way is to make their customers feel like they've been scammed or trapped into going through with the contract. Basically if you decide to sign a contract with them... , you will have NO CHOICE but to go through with your payment even if you know 29 days before you dont want to go. Obviously we decided to sign the terms of the contract but I have to say that this does not seem like best business plan. Now, instead of leaving our experience with this company with a good feeling where we can appreciate their understanding and thinking to ourselves.. "you know... I remember that VanLife Mtl company was super understanding during Covid... and refunded us even if we were 2 days past the deadline.. and I never got to try out their service... so I really want to try them again! I'll even recommend them to my friends due to their awesome customer service" No it'll be... "I remember that company made us pay for something we ended up not wanting and I don't want to have to deal with that risk again!" "Be sure to find a company which is more understanding and willing to work with their customer's situation"! At least we will know what type of company to avoid in the future!

The Van are really well assembled and practical, we had the luxury version with indoor shower and we still came back with half the water reserve! The kitchen is also very functional. The only really negative element is the tightly spaced, very narrow parking lot at the VanLife Mtl offices. It is quite difficult to park there with a normal vehicle, imagine with a 19ft van! We had a rather nasty altercation with a particularly arrogant neighbor of the VanLife offices who did not appreciate having his vehicle parked there lightly hitched. Nous avons eu droit à une altercation plutôt désagréable avec un voisin des bureaux de VanLife particulièrement arrogant qui n'a pas apprécié qu'on accroche légèrement son véhicule stationné là. Si ce n'était de cette mauvaise expérience qui est venue gâcher la fin de nos vacances, nous avons eu une belle semaine à nous balader avec ce véhicule !

On espère pouvoir refaire un "roadtrip" sous peu avec Van Life. On garde des souvenirs incroyables de lunchs sur le bord du fleuve grâce à la petite table et le barbecue ajoutés à notre location. Sans parler des douches chaudes prises au grand air! Magique! Gabrielle Kemp, a friend of mine and one of the reviewers, rented a Jeep with Julia Bond and myself to go to a wedding in Ontario. Due to the pandemic, something we cannot control, the borders between Ontario and Quebec closed and the wedding was postponed two days after the cut off point for a full refund. After two negative reviews and an email to Gabrielle that can only be described as a formulaic corporate response, we made it our mission to warn others about a company that knows we are dissatisfied, continues to waste our time, and provides us with unfriendly solutions that only serve to keep our money in their pockets. They told us they treat every situation in a unique way though we have experienced nothing but empty apologies and anti-consumer practices. We understand that all companies are going through a difficult time but if this is their way of staying afloat it’s disgusting. Our interaction with them has been abysmal, our view of them is tarnished, and we will not recommend them to our friends, our family, and our colleagues. What a shame. I hear there’s a lot of people looking to travel locally this summer.

So I reserved the Jeep for a wedding which I was super excited about. Sadly had to cancel because of Covid since the borders weren’t opening. I was told when I canceled that only 50% could be refundable due to the cancellation policy which literally was a 2 day difference ( keep in mind I had no control on when the government was going to make that decision). Now instead of paying me back the 50% right away ( as mentioned in their legal document regarding cancellations) they sent me a gift card of 100% of the value. I’ve never seen a company charge so much money through cancellations policies which I feel like I was being scammed, I couldn’t believe it. I felt so badly treated when I tried to cancel my trip, the lady kept saying take some time to think about it even I told her what my decision was more than once. When my boyfriend tried to help me with this situation because I get really bad social anxiety when it comes to situations like this, the only way to get someone to talk to us was by writing a 1 star review. When they finally got into contact with my boyfriend they mostly only asked him to remove his review. This situation could have been avoided if I was treated better from the beginning, and I would have probably gone back to this company for futur vacations but because of the poor customer service and extremely horrible cancellation policies I’ll pay more money and go to their competition. Therefore, sadly I don’t recommend this company.

We just came back from our second VanLife Mtl roadtrip (or better said JeepLife Mtl) and definitely can recommend them! Compared to our booking last year, which was already pretty good, they actually stepped up their offering with nice little sponsored gifts when you get the car. Overall it's the perfect rental for any kind of camping roadtrip, if you want a stress-free trip, because everything you might need is already included. Pick-up was easy, the car and tent were perfectly fine as well and giving back the car was easy and smooth on a Sunday afternoon as well. Can't complain and will be looking forward maybe to next year to book them again for our Ontario roadtrip!

My husband and I just finished renting a van for 8 days and had a great experience from beginning to end. Vanlife Mtl was an extremely professional company. When we arrived to pick up our van, the van was ready for us out front and the paperwork was ready sitting on the table. Staff were extremely friendly and thorough. They reviewed the contract with us, showed us how everything on the van worked and gave us a telephone number to call 24 hours a day if we ran into any problems. The van was immaculate and well equipped. We were very impressed with the design of the van and how easy everything was to use. Returning the van was simple. It was such a pleasure to deal with such an amazing company. We would recommend them to anyone. We had a great time. Thankyou.
