Be cautious- I cancelled!
I gave a deposit of $1500 in July 2018 for the February 2019 'Cool Asia' 3 week trip to South East Asia. By December I had not been charged the final amount and my queries about whether the trip was still on went unanswered. After more emails (and I googled to see if they were even still in business) my Visa was charged on Dec 24. The trip was to begin Feb 23, 2019. I expected the information package any day - experience with other tour agencies provided key information 8 weeks prior to a trip. I am an experienced traveller so I am up on immunizations and passport requirements. But had I been a novice, that information in a timely fashion would be critical. I emailed again - was the trip still on? should I bring local currency for tips? I was arriving a day early, what shuttle advice? No answer; and no Information package. Finally, 12 days before departure, and on my second call, I connected with owner and guide Debbie Lloyd. She took that opportunity to tell me I needed to get a visa for Vietnam and also needed to bring 2 passport pictures for visas while there (despite a message in December that she would be getting all visas). What, I asked, would have happened had I not called? When would she have passed on this information? I cancelled the next day. Communication was virtually non-existent and at my 'pestering'. Information was wrong and misleading. For a $10,000 3 week trip, the whole planning experience was unprofessional at best. I did, however, get most of the air flight money back, and after an email requesting all but the deposit and prompt resolution, I received the remainder with an offer to apply the $1500 deposit to another tour. I will let that go and chalk it up to a lesson learned. This is not an agency to be trusted. I tried to post a review via Trip Advisor but was unable to; apparently there were too many 'insider posts'. M.D. Albrecht (and could not even give 1 star).
