Cruising the Saint Lawrence River on the Canadian Empress was a delight. Friendly, efficient service, home-style, tasty meals, interesting and varied ports of call and talented entertainers every evening contributed to a wonderful experience. Thank you To our purser, Trevor; Danni, Nathalie, Emily and Paige in the dining room and the rest of the crew who made our 6-day voyage so comfortable. Can’t recommend this cruise highly enough!

I have worked at St. Lawrence Cruise Lines for 15 years and it has been a tremendous experience. I started out as a deckhand working on board the ship, and was able to build up to a professional career in the river tourism industry. This is a family-owned business that has been around since 1981 and it isn't run like a big corporate cruise line...It is more personal and people-oriented, with an emphasis on giving good value to passengers.

Dr George Merry and I cruised on the Canadian Empress on August 10 - 14th, 2021 From boarding to disembarkation, our voyage , from Kingston to Morrisburg, was a wonderful exploration of the beautiful St Lawrence River. The ships crew were well trained and always courteous and helpful. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The meals were delicious and well served and a choice was always available. Great bar! The off ship tours were well planned and very informative Diane Kelly and George Merry

We had a good time. The staff was great and always helpful. The thing that prevented for being 5stars was the arrangement of meals. There's 2 settings for meals. We were in the 1st group and were always ask to hurray up, as the 2nd group had know after them so they could take what ever time they wanted. Never asked to hurray up. So I suggest that you always get in the later meal group if go with this cruise

We cruised Aug. 10 to14.2021. There was an overwhelming stink from the toilet; smell of raw sewage. Imagine sleeping one foot away from this stink. Told staff many, many times of the stink; nothing was done. Food was edible; no choice of menu and no options either. We didn't realize that there were all extensive walking excursions. I would have brought my walker if I had known. A total waste of money over $5,200. Husband phoned and talked to owner who would get back to us. He never called back. Spoke to other passenger who is a friend of owner. He said the owner was a crook. We will never take another cruise by this company ever again

If you want to wear your Tuxedo, your Hope diamond, brag about how many cruises you've done and expect a 20 story Oceanliner, then call Princess or Holland America. If you want a scenic, historical river cruise on a quaint well preserved ship, this is your ticket. Sure the staterooms are on small side but they are clean, comfortable and well thought out for your luggage and things. And who really cares? It's not why you are taking this cruise. The Captain and his Crew are amazing. They work extremely hard to make sure that you are happy. The food and service was excellent. We had the most amazing experience last week on the Canadian Empress (Kingston to Ottawa). The scenery and history was fantastic. We loved every minute. Thank you all ❤ so very much. I pray the gold locket was found. Hugs and High 5s from the West Coast.

Our cruise was from Kingston to Upper Canada Village in September 2019. Due to a tour cancellation our ship only had 35 passengers instead of the usual 70 which made it more cozy. We got know everyone and we were the youngest at 59 and only ones not retired, lol! Scenery and staff were amazing. Such a memorable trip!
