This is a wonderful campground for RV's and trailers. From what we saw the tent camping sections a quite secluded as well, but we had an RV this time. The best thing is how quiet it is there. We were there on the long weekend in August and there was almost no noticable noise until almost noon and even then it was pretty quiet. We've been to many places where the noise of kids screaming and yelling starts at dawn, but the children that were here were very well behaved. Del is also great at getting everything that you need. The firewood was also cheap, plentiful and burned well. Being this close to Kingston was also a bonus (about 15 minutes to the outskirts) with a corner store even closer.
The beach is a little difficult to get to if you're physically handicapped (steep, rocky hill), but for normally able people, it's fine. The water was wonderfully warm (possibly a function of the hot weather), and had a sandy bottom. There are many boating slips at this campground as well, so bringing your boat may be an option.
The washrooms and showers are very clean and quite spacious for a campground with plentiful hot water.
The entrance road starts off very wide and well maintained, but near the end is a little tight (because of trees) and steep, so knowing the size of your vehicle/trailer is a must. Make sure you watch for the signs, many of them are hilarious. Once into the campground there is copious amounts of shade and surprisingly few biting insects on our weekend.
We will come back any time we're camping in this area.
