I recently used Magellan Luxury Hotels to book a last minute trip to a 5 star hotel in Miami, i knowingly agreed to a non-refundable discount rate as i was leaving in one week from the day i was booking it, and what could possibly go wrong in a week? Famous last words!! lol!! I got injured doing some professional ballet dancing and as i turns out actually tore the muscle in my left calf and injured my foot as well, but before i even knew exactly what was wrong with me as i had to wait to get a doctors appointment, I decided to call Magellan to see if there was any possible way they could get me out of this pre paid, non-refundlabe trip i had booked.
They tried once to call the hotel and get me out but the hotel said no but did extend the courtesy of a credit there for the next 6 months, but not knowing my recovery time or wanting to be in Miami in the summer i called back again and asked the most wonderful customer service rep ever named Dana if she could help me out at all. She was so kind, caring and empathetic she told me for sure she would call them again and beg and plead my case. It had been about 2 hours and i hadn't heard back yet so i called Dana back to let her know i got my Radiology appointment for the next day and will have a serious doctors notes to make the situation easier if possible, but again remember i verbally agreed to non-refundable and am an adult and know the consequences of what i agreed to! I got back through to her and they had told her the same, no refund but a credit for 6 months, so she took it upon herself to go over her own head in her company to help me out cause she felt so bad for me and she got a supervisor to call again!! As i called her back she told me she just received confirmation that the hotel indeed gave me a one time courtesy of a full refund with no penalties at all!!! On a non-refunadable reservation!!!
I was in tears literally as i am not wealthy and the money for that vacation was all the money i had saved up for a few years, and to have to go injured and in pain would have been terrible!!!! The hotel was kind enough as well to release me from my contract with them and Magellan really went to bat for me!!! They are one of the few large companies these days that really care more about their customers and their experience and well being then they do about the money they are making on them!!! One in a million!!! I recommend Magellan luxury hotels service to absolutely everyone and anyone i know and also all of you who will read this review!!! They didn't have to let me out of what i agreed to with them, and they didn't have to go to bat for me with the hotel either to get me a full refund!! Remember they make money through the hotel when you book it through them, so technically they lost money helping me out of a really bad and costly situation. What a wonderful company in this day and age of this country and what truly kind and caring people they have working for them. Litterally found a diamond!! I will use them and recommend them for the rest of my life!!! To boot the full refund came back to my CC in 2 days!! I am so blown away by the level of expertise, courtesy and putting human beings first!!! They made a pain full and scary situation for me a hundred times better and easier and alleviated so much stress!! Magellan luxury hotels is a 5 star themselves!!!!
