Informative walk through section with some great displays. There's an information desk, but nobody was at it both times we were there.

Strongly recommend you take the time to view some of their excellent library of local documentaries such as the Netsilik films from the late 60's.

Everything you need is in there! Highly recommend whether if your local or a visitor! Wealth of information, books, videos, you can watch short films and learn from them, learn about local history and the land. Love the animal display there. If you have time go there and you learn something new or to meet people there.

The Visitor's Centre is the perfect place to get oriented to Iqaluit in particular and Baffin Island in general. The Centre itself features dioramas detailing the traditional flow of life for the Inuit people with excellent examples of the tools that were required. That are taxidermic and other examples of fauna found in the North and information about how these were utilized. There are also special events - regular opportunities to observe and interact with current artisans and evening talks featuring persons of local (and broader) interest that help to illuminate both past and present artistic and social endeavours. Staff are knowledgable, courteous and able to help your Northern experience be fuller and more authentic. Highly recommended.
