Nice, friendly staff...good for what you pay
Really enjoyed the birthday party there would definitely do it again and recommend
Kids loved seeing / peting reptiles up close . Great time. Great variety
Great people doing great work. They pack a lot into the space and the shows are very informative and well done. Would recommend to anyone.
Went on Monday, felt like perfect day to go. Had a personal interaction with Snake, Spider, Crocodile, Tortoise and Many more.. was worth it..Very interactive Zoo keeper, Nice shows...
Small funny place
All of the animals are rescues. They seem happy and well cared for. The place is fairly small but you get the sense they really care about making a positive impact.
The strip mall is deceiving...this is a great little place to take the kids. It really depends on your child how long you will be here. A kid could run though the whole place in 15 minutes, or, like my child who really stops and looks at everything, it could take a few hours. The animals are well cared for and the animal shows are a great and safe way to get closer to some neat creatures.
I must say for the first time going we were all pleased with all the animals/reptiles in the exhibits to see. Kevin who was hosting the show was very informative and funny with interacting with the crowd. We all enjoyed the visit and will be back again and recommend anyone to check Little Rays out. Thank you
Family visit April 10th, 2016. 2 young children(8 and 2). Was quite surprised to see the size of the exhibits and the large variety of animals. Kevin was an excellent presenter. Had both children as well as all of the adults entertained. Kevin is Funny, Informative, Entertaining and great with small children! Well worth the money and highly recommended for all parents.
Had an awesome day with my son here, workers were great. Spent around 2 and a bit hours here
Great experience. Amanda was friendly and informative in the theatre room
It was a nice place to go to get out of the house and out of the cold. I would definitely recommend it to people, but make sure you bring bottled water and dont dress too warm, or else you will get really hot. We stayed for around 2.5 hours and got to see two shows, they had different animals, as well as two feedings, but one was a fail because she just was not hungry. Overall it was really fun, educational, and nice to see a clean exhibit.
Fantastic and knowledgeable staff and a wide variety of animals! My son loved it.
Had a blast, lots of animals to see, went for a birthday party and all the kids and adults loved it.
I found this place thanks to Groupon. Its perfect for young children - the space is not too large so they don't get overwhelmed with too much walking and having it indoors is great for something to do in the cold months. The interactive shows are informative and just the right amount of time to hold the attention span of the youngest guests. My four year old absolutely loved this place and I have a feeling we'll be back!
It's a lot bigger than I expected. They had a lot of animals. We went with a Groupon and the price was decent too.
Nice sanctuary. A little small if your making a long drive but nice got little trips. Staff is great with kids
Great place for gidsids and adults. And they're open on long weekends.
We had the private tour and sloth encounter with Xander and it was phenomenal! He was so great with the kids and so personable. I can't say enough about how awesome the experience was. The private tour was definitely more entertaining than walking around on your own. We held tons of animals, scaly and fuzzy. They were very clean and conscious of everyone's health and safety. Also I met a sloth which was a dream come true. Little rays is amazing and majority of the animals are rescues, and have some pretty interesting back stories.
We did a private tour at Ray’s it was amazing! Katie our guide was so wonderful and engaging with the children. They got to touch and see so many animals. We loved that all the animals were all rescued! We got to see an owl and a snake being fed. We would highly recommend the private tour, it’s well worth the money.
We planned on visiting the exhibit in Orangeville and had some trouble purchasing tickets online. After contacting the company I was given free passes for my family to enjoy! We gave a donation at the door to show our appreciation. What excellent customer service. The exhibit was great, my boys 4 & 2 loved all the creatures and animals. It was well set up and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Bronwyn was an amazing tour guide. She easily kept the attention of two 6 year olds and a 4 year old and had so much patience for their questions and energy! The tour was fun and very interactive. We held lizards, snakes, Guinea pigs and pet a tortoise! I would definitely bring my kids back.
Very informative presentations and birthday parties. We've done a group tour there and the families loved it! Trainers were passionate and fantastic "teachers" to all the students attending. I also recently had a huge birthday party with them in attendance. Everyone loved the show and one of the highlights was the 8 foot snake!! ???????? If you visit actual location, you may want to call ahead to see what the schedule is like for showtimes (if you need to work around your child's naps or whatnot). Otherwise, if you're like me and dislike paying full price, watch for online coupons (such as Groupon/WagJag) to save $$ (or on their Facebook! That's how we got our birthday party package at such a great deal!!)
We had a great time. Took our 2 year old daughter who loved seeing all the animals up close. They even did a live show for us with reptiles and a skunk that we were able to pet. Friendly staff and clean environments for all the animals.
We had a great time. It's awesome for smaller kids. It was much better for us compared to the Toronto. You can see the animals up close and touch them. It's a great winter activity! My only disappointment was that was no coat rack for our jackets but the staff were helpful and kept our baby car seat for us.
Great spot to see some exotic creatures close up and personal. So much great information from the keepers. Everyone is very friendly. They take out little creatures for you to pet. The thing that makes me happiest about going here, is knowing how many animals they rescue. You know that your money is supporting an incredible cause. I recommend a visit.
It was fantastic. Friendly knowledgeable staff and my wife loved her sloth encounter
This is a pretty amazing place! First of all, it's a lot bigger on the inside that it looks from outside. We're members of the Buffalo Zoo so there's a 50% discount on admission. There are quite a few large, well-maintained displays and a very good variety of species. There's a small theatre and we were treated to 3 short but entertaining and interesting presentations by very knowledgeable staff. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves very much at Little Ray's!
Great place to take the kids if you want to do something indoors. It's nice to know that all the animals there are rescue animals. They have some really cool creatures. If you get a Groupon deal it's definitely worth it.
Not impressed at all! Very small variety of animals and had to pay for parking on top of it all. Paid $43 dollars for a 10 min walk around. If we would have not lied about our childs age it would have costed over 60 dollars! Thumbs down!
Lots of fun and very educational experience! Aside from being an amazing zoological facility, they are also the largest exotics rescue in Canada. They do hands on interactive shows where people can learn about species that they might never otherwise encounter!
The staff were amazing, friendly, and willing to go above and beyond to make the visit special for my son. The theatre with live interactions with the animals was amazing. Little Ray's exceeded any expectations we had going in and for a VERY reasonable price!
This unassuming spot in a strip mall has much more than just reptiles. I've been wanting to take the kids here for a couple years and finally got around to it today. There are some pretty impressive creatures there. I think the main draw of this place is their intimate live shows. They're different every time and the next one starts 20 minutes after the end of the last one. My kids got to hold a tarantula and pet a caiman, an armadillo, and a skunk! Just make sure to wear layers. The place is pretty warm, even in the winter, due to the needs of the animals. My son keeps asking to go back and we were just there this morning!
Great place for the kids to learn about reptiles. Staff are friendlyband knowledgeable
Extremely great staff, great rescue, amazing animals
My daughter experienced this for the first time and enjoyed it immensely????????????
If you love animals....you will love this place
Took my daughter for her birthday and had a private vip tour. It was alot of fun! Learned alot actually!! Held and interacted with alot of really amazing reptiles as fuzzies ???? Definitely recommend!!! Lots of parking in the plaza as well, so big bonus for DT Ham!
Very convenient parking, staff are friendly and informative. Lots of animals to see and nice opportunities to interact with animals
As a 25 year old lady I wasn't sure if going to a petting zoo would be worth my time and money, but this place was delightful. I got to pet a skunk which was a dream I never thought I could attain, had a height contest with a snake that insisted if only I laid down it could beat me easily, and made a sneaky armadillo friend that tried to find crickets near my feet. Learning about where they source their animals from and seeing how well they are cared for made it a place I would not mind visiting again!
A pretty neat place to visit at night!
All kinds of interesting prosimians from Madagascar....
We took our two year old here for his birthday. We had an awesome time! There are a ton of different animals, knowledgeable and polite staff, and cool little shows to learn a thing or two! We would definitely go back, and the best thing about it was >90% of their animals are rescued! A great cause and a fun place!
Loved it the staff were great and knowledgeable we would defanatly come back
My son and I love coming to little rays, my wife not so much....staffer are friendly, the daily shows are amazingly interactive and the exhibits are always lively and happy.
Worth a visit if your in the area. I would avoid weekend if your dont like crowds. Always busy, be on time for the shows or you wont get a seat. Kids enjoyed
Really good variety of animals. Good presentations in the theatre.
Good exhibits and presentations. Got to see feeding of a caiman
Really neat self guided tour of some really interesting animals..only complaint is it's a bit small and short but their are shows they put on as well.
My little guy had so much fun at the shows and we loved seeing the crocs!!!! Will come back
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time here!! We did the private tour + sloth encounter with Paul as our tour guide. The price we paid was well worth the amazing experiences we had here. Paul was an excellent guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable, hilarious, and engaging throughout the tour. His passion for caring for the animals was apparent and it added positively to our experience! ???? We got to feed the alligator a chicken wing, a banana to a very hungry tortoise, swiss chard to some very cute guinea pigs, and rice and sweet potato to the super adorable and sweet baby sloth Olive as I held her in my arms (She even fell asleep!????). This was definitely the experience of a lifetime for me as sloths are my favorite animal. ???? We got to feed and interact with the animals at this wonderful sanctuary. The energy in the zoo was very serene and peaceful. After leaving on the drive home, my boyfriend said "I feel like I just meditated". That really captures the essence of the energy in the zoo. This was a very unique and special experience for us. This was by far the best zoo experience I've ever had and would love to visit again! ???? I would highly recommend that anyone who loves animals goes here for a visit!????
This was the most surreal and amazing experience I have ever had! We got to feed and pet a sloth! Bronwin (the lady who lead the sloth tour) was phenomenal! She is super knowledgable and kind. They care very deeply for the animals. The animals are highly loved and very well taken care of here. If the location was closer, I probably visit every week! Thank you for this unforgettable experience!
The zoo is really well run. The host was really knowledgeable and friendly. Excellent.
Great place for the kids, shows every half hour. Just wish it was bigger with more replies and animals. Definitely recommend if you like reptiles
Had a lot of fun here. It’s much cleaner than other zoos I’ve been to and the animals are very cool!
Great experience. The staff were great.
Love! Love! Love this place. Easy to spend 2 hours here very informative. The staff are great the intimate shows are a great learning hands on experience. I've also booked 2 parties with them and both times it went well. I have no negative things to say about this place
it's a neat place to go to with your kids. I like that they always have deals on WagJag because to be honest I wouldn't pay full price. Other than that though the staff is friendly and it's really neat to sit and watch the show that they put on.
Really hands on experience for the price. Friendly and educated staff. Good times
You get up close with the animals, the staff was amazing and very knowledgeable. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Great and rare experience. It kept 3 - 12 year old boys engaged the whole time. Worth the private tour and chance to pet a sloth, high five a tarantula, and have your entire group hold the same snake (at the same time)!
Me and my 4 year old daughter had a blast! Great thing to do when it’s cold or raining. (Indoor)
Great place to bring the family!
Huge variety of animals, very friendly and knowledegable staff. Gone there many times, my eight year old son loves it!!
My son 7 yrs and my daughter 3 yrs had a great time. The place is small, however they have a wide range of reptiles as well as other kinds of animals to see. The zoo keeper who runs the shows was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and very good with all the kids in the room. All of the children had an opportunity to choose an animal they wanted to see live and he ensured the kids all had a chance to interact with the animals. The live shows were the best part of the visit!
The kids loved it!! Tons of relevant Ontario information about repltiles.
Zander is amazing. Great experience for kids of all ages. Check out the full scorpions
Amazing! Knowledgeable staff, friendly and polite. Animals etc were amazing!! Strong recommend going around lunch as they feed the animals then.. They may feed them other times too, but we went there around noon and watched a snake eat a mouse!! So cool!!
My husband and I took the kids here... It's deff worth checking out. However, I do not feel the price reflects the experience. It's really over priced in my opinion, and within about an hour we had already seen everything Little Ray's had to offer. I would recommend going for the educational aspect, but not if you happen to be on a budget
I recently went with my family to visit Olive the sloth. It was amazing we all had so much fun! The staff was awesome and super helpful with sloth facts. I would definitely recommend Little Rays zoo and nature center to any animal lover!
Totally incredible. 1 1/2 hour private tour for 10 people. Totally hands on. Highly recommend! Don't judge by how it looks outside...
Okay, so today I went at 4pm for a private tour. I think our guide was named Xander? Well, he was SO NICE. He was so careful as well. He noticed my My chemical romance shirt and complimented it (he’s considered a hero in my mind now). Lemurs and hedgehogs are my favourite animals, he let me pet the hedgehog and FEED the lemurs. He was so amazing, and I FOR SURE recommend this place. Wonderful for children. Very clean and CLEARLY takes care of their animals well. I’m definitely coming here again soon. Best day ever.
Been there twice and am always impressed with the quality of the zoo and the care of the animals. My 3 year old was entertained for over an hour.
Really neat place and good to take kids, Staff explain everything and all the animals are really cool to learn about. Smell isn't the greatest, obviously, but it is still clean.
It was very educational and i had a fun experience.
I love the caiman that the one guy brought in he had a white beard and hes an older fella i don't know his name but i liked him a lot he was detailed
Really nice visit. Excellent variety of creatures. Hands on and educational show. You can enter right from the parking lot now. Used to have to walk around the back of the building
Fun place to take the kids. Make sure you attend the live show
Very unhygienic place. The food given to the poor animals is really old with bacteria feeding on it, such dirty washrooms and hand cleaning areas with mould on sinks. They do have some nice interactive shows, however the place is not presentable at all. Such a bad experience driving for 45 minutes and ending up at this horrible place. The staff is nice but really need to do something about their cleaning standards.
This was so fun for the whole family. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Will be going again
Very bad smell was hard to breath especially the further back you went. Over powerful urine smell by the monkeys, other then that the kids had fun Something to do that doesn't take much time.
This was a great experience for my 4 year old son. They have lots of animals, not just reptiles. They had a kangaroo when we were there! They operate as a rescue centre as well, so there will be different animals rotating through. The thing that makes it worthwhile is the interactive presentations that they do every 30 minutes or so. One of the door knowledgable staff bring out 3-4 animals 1 at a time. She tells you about the animal, takes questions and brings the animal around to each person to touch or hold of they choose. We would go back I would recommend it to anyone with kids 2+
Amazing staff. Nice shows. Interesting excibibition.
Great place to take our kids (ages 4, 1) to spend a morning. They enjoy it much more than the Toronto Zoo, since all the animals are closer together and they get to touch the ones the staff bring out to show.
Don't let the exterior fool you... great message for the kids, opportunity to get close to the animals and a staff that knows their stuff.
Great place with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend the sloth experience, she was absolutely beautiful ????. Great place for kids as well.
Hidden Gem! Lots of different animals for kids to see including Aligators, Boas and a large Monitor! Most of the animals the Zoo rescued and now takes care of them. They also put on shows where they bring some of the animals out to touch and learn about. Great for a 1/2 day outing. They offer family rates.
Excellent little zoo. The staff are so friendly, and helpful. The shows they have throughout the day are very educational, and fun. Animals are very well taken care of, and they are rescued! Highly recommend this for kids or adults!
Horribly disappointed with our trip today. Shows were too far apart, there are 2 different shows. Website has show schedule which is not being followed at all. We arrived at 11:30 and had to wait 45 minutes for the next show which at first wasn't a big deal. 45 minutes is a good amount of time to view the whole place. After viewing the first show(3 animals there were no special animals to throw off the time), we were told the next show would not be another 45 minutes. I had been 3 years ago and the shows ran like clockwork 30 minute show 15 minute break then a different 30 minute show. That schedule works for the small location. I think I would have given a 3rd star if the show schedule wasn't posted on the website...we used that for the basis of our arrival time...i mean why even bother. The place is undergoing an expansion which is nothing special. My advice is call first...if they are doing shows with 15 minute breaks then it is worth attending, but if the breaks are 45 minutes it's not worth going...you'll likely only have the patience to attend 1 show making this an uneconomical experience. On a side note there are three building permit violations posted on the door based on the expansion....which shows how the Hamilton location is being managed
It’s a great outing with a toddler or young children. They have presentations every 20min or so on weekends, with option to touch the animals (which my son really enjoyed). It’s enough to spend between 1H and half to 2 hours (maximum!) before getting bored and a bit claustrophobic (that was for me). The place was clean and you could really see the animals but I felt pretty bad about small enclosures for big animals such as their alligator and monitor. As well as a bored porcupine alone in his enclosure:/ On a separate note, right outside the door there’s a trailer with hot dogs and sausages. Delicious.
We had lots of fun. Amanda did a terrific job in making it entertaining and educational. I just wish I was able to touch more arachnids and serpents.
We had a great day at Little Ray's Reptile Zoo in Hamilton. It's in a little plaza which you might not expect but I was glad to see that parking at this location is FREE! Although I found the admission to be a little steep I understand why it has to be that way....I mean seriously they have salt water crocodile and sloths plus staff to pay for! We got to see 2 shows while we were there and they were very educational. Did you know that snakes have 4 jawbones... yep just something I learned. We will be back and please let us know if you are ever going to the ingersoll library ♡
We did a private zoo tour with the Sloth Encounter. We met Olive, the cutest 8 month old sloth! It was well worth the money and and experience that we will never forget. Bronwyn was a great guide and Amanda was very nice and a great help! I highly recommend Little Rays!
Highly recommended place to spend an afternoon. Great for children and mature. Knowledgeable friendly staff. Amazing exhibits interaction encouraged with less dangerous animals while handler is present to ensure animals safety as well as your own and to answer all your questions. No worries if you're scared of an animal as the handlers are very respectful and they will keep it away from you
Paul is a beautiful soul! He made the tour so much fun, and kept the kids engaged the whole time. We loved it!
Great little zoo, lots of animals, all rescues, knowledgeable staff, interactive shows great for kids at certain times of day, and great price.
Both grandsons love this place...lots of different things to see. They also have a show where kids can see animals up close, pet them and learn all about them. We go about 2-3 times a year
Great place! It's fairly small but younger kids will have lots of fun and learn.
Enthusiastic staff, passionate about the animals and guests. Cool reptiles and am interesting assortment of other creatures as well.
Wonderful experience for the whole family
Cute little place to take the kids staff are friendly and great with helping g the kids learn about the animals also got to meet and pet some
This was our first visit to Little Rays, we booked a private tour. I went back and forth via email with Hope and Amanda, both answered my messages almost immediately. Bronwyn was our tour guide, she was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable and so unbelievably patient with our boys. She took the time to explain everything to our 5 year old (the birthday boy) in a way that was easy for him to understand & trusted him to hold many of the animals which made his day.
Great friendly staff eager to answer questions and give close up experiences with all the creatures
My daughter loved seeing all the creatures, both from behind glass, and up close at the show they put on. The staff were all friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable.
Great place for kids, look for discounts and sales through 3rd party sites like Groupon. Look to spend about 2 hours here. Not a big place but kids will enjoy. All sorts of little creatures like snakes spiders turtles and small crocodiles etc
Excellent as always! Love seeing the animals up close and feeding time is really cool !
Nice indoor place for kids under bad weather
Had a wonderful experience with the sloth. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the money if you love animals!
The kids absolutely loved it here. Was a great price or a family of 4 and very educational for the kids. Lots to see and look at. Very friendly staff as well.
Make sure you visit rhe whole place, at first we thought it was a lot smaller then it is. The shows are nice because the kids can touch the animals. Wear shorts and a tshirt!!
Had a sloth encounter yesterday at Little Rays. What a fantastic experience! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to interact with an animal I never thought I would get so close to. They do a fantastic job of educating and teaching kids to respect wildlife. I even did something I never thought I would ever do. I held a tarantula in my hand. Thanks again Little Rays.
Hidden gem. My 3 year old loves it!!! Staff was very educational and reptiles and animals very cool!
Had a good half day here with kids. Would definitely recommend
Really cool place, the staff was incredibly helpful with my elderly client. Overall it's an awesome place that anyone would love!
Dont let the shady neighborhood fool you. When you get inside it's a great time.just park under a light.
A little pricey for the size of the place but the kid loved it. Nice variety of reptiles. You really have to stay for the live feeding and hands on show.
Much bigger on the inside than you think. Lots to see and every 15 min or so there is an interactive session that allows you to touch various creatures. You will see snakes, spiders, komotos, monkeys and many other lizards.
Very fun and educational place! Affordable and grey fun for the family.
Great experience! Staff were friendly, considerate, knowledgeable and great with the various animals. We particularly enjoyed our Sloth encounter. We love Olive!
Massive surprise, the cleanest zoo ever what a gem of a place. Staff are great and the shows very informative. Our Grandson loved it.
My girlfriend and I had an excellent experience at Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the variety of animals was out of this world. We thoroughly enjoyed learning and interacting with their well-looked-after scaley and furry creatures (especially our extra special sloth hang time) and can’t wait to return in future! Thanks gang!
Great staff! Amazing experience! As a zoo keeper myself I instantly noticed the care and compassion for their residents! Anyone that comments negatively on the animals looks and aesthetics should research as to why they’re here! Amazing care! I’ve been working with ring tailed lemurs since I was 12 and I’m humbled that they’re so well cared for! I even went into the lemur enclosure and I’m so gratified by their care!!
Amazing place, shows were great, really interesting & informative. Staff were super friendly, spoke really clearly when doing the shows. Lots of exhibits, amazing animals. Much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Highly recommend & will definitely bring going back. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful few hours. My wife & 9 year old son loved it. ????
My nephew's loved this place. Friendly staff and lots of cool animals to see. It's also much larger than we expected. I'd go back again!
I had a great time! :)
Great staff. Helped me figure my spouse phobia with information and holding off tarantula.
This is a fantastic place. It looks small, but don’t let that stop you. The guides are top, with lots of knowledge, super friendly and honest. We had Browning ( I hope I am getting her name right ) and my kids were super engaged with her, as her love and passion transpired. With got to pet many animals including a super friendly and scary Tarantula. Don’t miss this place. The crocodiles will give you shivers.
I went there back in March 2015 with my 2 brothers and uncles to see the crocs, bugs and spikes and it was a lot of fun.
Definitely worth a visit even for the non-reptile enthusiasts like myself. Well maintained indoor zoo and the employees definitely care about the animals and love what they do.
Don't expect anything crazy. But it was fun.
I had such an amazing experience here! All the staff were so friendly, answered all our questions. You could genuinely see they care for these animals! We did the sloth visit and the girl presenting (sorry forgot her name) was knowledgeable and made the experience amazing! After the visit we walked around the zoo part and seeing all the different animals, made for an unforgettable experience. Worth visiting !!!!!!
What an amazing experience we had yesterday!! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about every animal we encountered. We had the sloth experience with private tour. We were very pleased considering Covid is on going they have everything in place for the safety of staff and guest. The location was very clean and organized animals were all out ready to visit. I will for sure be making another visit with the sloth early next year. Thank you Little Rays for the amazing memories
We had an amazing guided tour today. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and so patient with the kids. We got to interact with so many different reptiles and furry friends. Would definitely recommend this place!
Very small, but lots of creatures! We even got to pet some of them! The kids loved it.
Very cool place. I don't like reptiles generally speaking but I did have a good time visiting Little Ray's. I cuddled a sloth, which was kind of a dream come true. We do hope to go back and/or visit other locations.
We had a private tour for my son's birthday and he loved it! So many awesome snakes, lizards, turtles, crocodiles, etc. Our friendly and knowledgeable your guide was great with the kids and the animals. Seeing, touching, and learning about the animals was a truly unique experience that my family will never forget.
Really fun, and one of the best deals around for a kids birthday party.
We had an excellent time here. We were really impressed by how big, and clean, it is here. A really nice zoo. Most of the animals were rescued. Amazing. The shows were great. Kids loved it here. We will definitely be back!!!!
Not bad for quick visit but a little small. Kids did have a great time though.
Just had a home birthday party with Rays. Must say we were pleasantly surprised! The knowledge kindness and demeanor of our "guide" was incredible. She was GREAT with the kids and adults! The animals and information were awesome! Highly recommend these home parties! Thanks RRZ!
I had an extremely good experience here and it was probably because we were the only people in the building. We went on a regular week day and the place was empty. There are a few things that really made Little Rays stand out that did not have to do with how busy they were. One of the biggest things was that all the animals were visible. I don't know if it was just luck but there are times you go to a zoo and a lot of the animals are hiding. Rays is setup such that most of the animals are visible all the time. The second reason Little Rays stands out is the assortment of wildlife. They have a lot of stuff I have never seen at a zoo before, like a porcupine. The benefit of coming here when nobody else was is that they have "shows" they put on at intervals where one of the zoo keepers will come out with a creature and show it around and let people hold/touch it. This was great for us because we were the only ones there so they brought out a ton of different animals and we got a private show. The zoo keeper was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. This is a great place for kids to check out and I highly recommend coming during a regular week day for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
I love all the 3 legged exotic animals I find here all the time! My collection of taxidermied pets now sits at a whoping 24! Good deal on Sundays too, if you buy one three legged animal you get a free euthanization pill incase times get tough! 5 stars I love these guys! Oh and the best part is I don't have to wear my mask during lockdown in there since it's so muggy and hot inside that non air-conditioned place definitely recommend if going on a road trip with your kids! Would give 10 stars if I could !!
Our tour guide was amazing, so knowledgeable and great with the kids. She has a unique name and very short dark hair. We all had a great time and learned so much. Thanks for all you do for the animals! Keep up the great work!
We loved our morning at Little Rays. There is a huge selection of reptiles and some furry creatures to admire and learn about. The Zoo rehabilitates reptiles injured or abandoned around the area so the zoo serves a purpose more than just entertainment. There was a hands on presentation every 15mins. We bought a family ticket as it is great value for money. Plus the parking is free and plenty with spaces.
Kids enjoyed themselves, it's the other guests at the shows that are the annoying part, feel bad for the staff.
Amazing staff, and amazing animals!! Will definitely be going again!!
Our guide was amazing and so accommodating for our 18 month old. He had a blast - highly recommend!
Awesome cool reptiles
Amazing place, extremely friendly staff and incredible experience to celebrate my kid's birthday .my son loves it. and I ALREADY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO ALL MY FRIENDS.
My niece loved it here. And she want's to come back. I loved it too. Great place.
Had my 7 year olds birthday party there. The place is much bigger inside with more animals than I would have thought. Demonstrations were fantastic, animals all looked well cared for. My only complaint is the actual birthday / gathering room. It looks depressing to say the least and to not have a hand wash or at the very least sanitizer station in there when it's such an important thing after handling animals seems like a major oversight. Other than that and one miserable staff member it was fantastic. Would highly recommend.
We had amazing tour provided by Paul. My son is a huge snake enthusiast, so Paul provided an amazing hands on experience with all the reptiles. What I liked most as a parent with this private tour, was that he was able to specifically cater to my kids inquiries (which would be a lot more challenging with a larger group). Overall fantastic experience, and my son is already asking when we can go back to little Ray’s a day later lol.
Did the sloth encounter and it was an amazing experience. Small zoo but worth the trip. Can't wait to come back again.
Visited here while I was on vacation. Truely an amazing place to visit if you love reptiles! All the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Will be coming back if I'm ever in Hamilton again.
This is a great place to visit! The people there really care about the animals here and it shows so much. We spoke to Victoria and she showed us all sorts of animals that they had here; we learned a lot! A hidden gem for sure
Lots of animals. Great live shows.
Great, friendly staff. Shows and feedings are cool. Everyone seems genuinely interested and happy to share their knowledge and expertise.
The Sloth encounter with sweet Olive the sloth was wonderful. As was our guide Paul.
Little Rays is a good visit if you are in to reptiles. They short shows or demonstrations are well done and the staff are knowledgeable. The building is clean, as are the habits for all the animals. It was a nice visit.
big & small reptiles zoo with great show.
Nice little place to take your kids for a quick adventure with some reptiles.
Wonderful staff and shows, the enclosures were very clean, and you can tell the animals were well cared for. Would definitely visit again, and will recommend!
The new expansion is amazing loved seeing the Lemurs & Seeing the animals during the show they had very friendly staff with my girl's. Was a perfect day trip for us.
At first I felt it is small, but when I saw how much my 5 year old excited he was, I realized it is a great educational place to take your kids to, especially if they are fascinated with reptiles!! The best part is the live educational session!
This was an amazing experience for our family. Sam was an amazing guide and was extremely patient and informative. I highly recommend visiting when you can
Was an amazing sloth encounter. The guide women was amazing.
We had an amazing time at Little Rays Zoo. It was just me and my wife. We had booked for the Private Zoo tour + Sloth Encounter. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Especially our tour guide bronwyn (hope we got the name right ????) She was extremely knowledgeable and gave us an amazing tour around the place and she also made sure we were comfortable while interacting with different reptiles and sloth. I would definitely recommend this place not only for the little ones but for us grown ups too.
Paul was amazing, great tour learning about all their reptiles.
I would recommend Little Ray's to anyone looking for an informative and entertaining place to learns about reptiles and animals. Our family went there for a private tour, as it was my youngest son's birthday. Known as The Reptile Man, Paul was funny, engaging and gave us some unique hands on experiences that the kids would never have had elsewhere. It was a memorable night for the family. Highly recommended to all.
Lots of different specimen's, and the terrariums were constructed so it was pretty easy to each each animal. The open theater provided an up close experience to a snake feeding, armadillo presentation, gecko viewing and tortoise event. Great stuff and is a must revisit.
This place is awesome!!! We learned so much about reptiles, turtles, armadillos, skunks, etc. Getting to see them up close and personal was a fantastic experience for the entire family. Highly recommend it to all ages.
Very good please check them out as they have to close some of it due covid and need all the help they can get
Great shows. Nice place. Had a blast
Great place for the kids. Very friendly staff, interactive shows. Fun for the whole family.
It's the most amazing place you'll ever visit. I've been going there for camp for a bit more than 5 years. The staff are super nice. I highly recommend it. I wish I could rate it 100000 stars
Very cool staff is amazing with the customers and the animals. My niece and nephew had a great time and want to go back. Love the live show they have
Great animals and zoo but this place is in a bad location! Inside smells like cigarettes and families looks like drug users. When we got there we saw cop cars outside near a old building, looks like they were taking out drug users. It’s a nice place but again very bad community.
Ok and not a pure dissapointment. But smell and atmosphere isnt the best. Good time for Young kids. About 30 to 45 min visit is enough.
Great place on a rainy day! We went during March Break and spent about 3hours, as we took in 2 shows. During the shows you could touch a few different snakes, tarantula, lizards and the special guest was a 4yr pld Kangaroo. Small gift shop, they sell water for $1 (you could bring your own bottle of water)Not ideal for wheelchairs, no lockers for jackets (as it is warm inside) lots of free parking (as it's located in a Plaza) and cost about $17 for adults.
This was a great experience for my two year old. There were lots of different reptiles and animals to see. There is a show every half hour where the kids get to ask questions and touch animals. We will keep going as the kids get older. There is lots to see for all ages
Really cool experience my kids loved it. The area where it's located is not the nicest, but we had a good experience
I was left so impressed with this little gem! First of all, the animals are mostly rescued. The enclosures are very well suited and humane for each animal. There were more than just reptiles here, a few mammals as well. They have these EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE HANDS-ON SHOWS and all the staff are knowledgable and friendly. They also do shows for schools and birthdays.
We visited Little Rays at the Western Fair District in London. Quite disappointed as only one of the advertised animals was there. We saw the baby sloth. However, the alligator, bobcat, groundhog, opossum, armadillo, owl and skunk were all absent. There were around 10-20 other creatures in small glass tanks around the area, not much that you wouldn't see in a pet store. The entrance fee was quite high, which if we were able to witness the animals advertised, would have possibly been worth it. One point I have to commend them on is that they asked people to email them if they couldn't afford the steep prices, and they would receive a discount. I also have to commend them after finding out they cater to people with autism and sensory issues, and have special quiet hours specifically for them, I believe they also get in for free. This is the third year we've been and it seems like every year the quality and experience diminishes.
I would not come back here. Waste of money. I had high hopes for this place but I am really surprised at just how terrible it is. The frogs and snakes were the only ones with nice enclosures. Not sure when or how often they get fed, but all of the animals seemed very hungry. (Hungry animals make for better entertainment as they are more active and come up to the glass.) Even one of the small tortoises kept pushing his nose into the glass, trying to get out. Everything but the reptiles just had plywood walls and woodchip covering the floors. Bright lights. For travelling animals you would expect their "permanent" enclosures to be a lot more safe and relaxing for them. The (I assume) main guy didn't even handle or talk about the animals like he cared, once referring to the bored, lonely porcupine as always having a "dumb look on his face". As someone who has studied Zoology in university and has seen many of these species in their natural habitats, I am very surprised. This is NOT the way I want my child to learn about different animals.
My daughter loved it. She loved interacting with the animals. A bit pricey, but seeing my daughter happy was worth every penny :)
This was an amazing experience, Victoria was an excellent guide and brought out some very cool animals for us to interact with. I would highly recommend this nature centre.
Such an amazing place to take the family. Will be coming again with the family again forsure. I loved the kangaroo
It's located in a sketchy part of town, but the kids loved the experience. Great/friendly/knowledgeable staff, lots of cool things for the kids to see. We'll be back for sure.
Pretty cool place and very friendly staff. You get a chance to pet different animals and have the opportunity for one on one with some of them. We picked the sloth, soo worth it.
The place is much bigger then the last time we visited with many more interesting animals. We loved our visit. The staff is proffesional and curtious as always. It's a wonderful way to introduce children to animals and to raise awareness to the environment
Was great alot smaller tgen I thought we really couldn't stay more then 2 hours nothing left to do. Show was good kids loved it. For warning it is HOT in here lol
Neat little place with free parking. The staff are amazing and they have good collection of animals. They have show every 15-20 minutes and you cannot miss them. The crocodile feeding session between 1pm-2pm is must watch!
It wasn't bad. Enough cool reptiles for it to be worth the drive.
Too my 3 and 5 year old. Loved it. Very nice staff and a lot of fun! Got to pet and meet new animals every 15 - 30 minutes. Great time.
Lots of different animals. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not at all busy. They have shows where you can touch/hold the animals (snakes, geckos etc). Most of these are rescue animals so that's a major plus. They also let us watch a snake feeding - pretty cool. My 4 year old did not want to go home.
This place is awesome and so unassuming when you see it from outside. Amazing selection of rainforest reptiles and some cute animals
I liked the chameleon the best. An hour well spent, but admission is a bit high.
Omg!! This place is amazing!!! Victoria was so great! We came in later in the day yesterday for my birthday and understandably, thenshows were over for the day. Despite that, Victoria engaged in some awesome conversation with us about the snakes and some of the other little (and big) reptiles! She even went out of her way to let us interact with some of the snakes and legless lizards. It was such a cool and fun experience and it's amazing to have a place which helps rescue and care for reptiles which are in need. As someone that hates snakes.... I can say that I actually like them now because of Little Rays providing the opportunity to educate myself on these little critters and passionate people like Victoria going above and beyond to inform, educate and assist people in overcome fears or misconceptions about these slippery lil friends. I will 100% be back in the near future
Small place but we had tons of fun. The talks were funny and we managed to see more animals in the theatre and pet them
Amazing. Don't go anywhere else. This guy loves the work he does with animals and is a very good artist.
It's a fun little zoo right in town. The staff really know their animals and happily answer any questions you have. Love the new expansion! A must visit :)
Great assortment of animals to view and also touch in some cases. I will be coming here again.
Excellent place for kids and adults alike!! Don't let the outside deceive you the space is quite large. The hands on experience is like no other zoo in the GTA. Well worth the admission fee, better value than any other zoo we've taken our 2 year old to.
Great little spot to take your kids. If I hadn't been referred by a friend, I wouldn't have known it was even there. In a small plaza (in not the greatest neighborhood). My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and the show that is put on was a lot of fun. They really involve the audience.
Great place. We unfortunately didnt get to see the kangaroo as there were too many people (she doesnt do well with really big crowds). So ill definitely be going back but sometime during the week so we can see her. The reptiles are really cool too.
Really enjoyed this place. It is small but they do put on interactive shows, depends on time of day you go. I'm sure could call ahead to see timing. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to answer your questions. Was pleased to be informed the one crocodile was a rescue and they are looking to rehome due to small space for the animal. It seems they take great care of the animals and know a lot about each one. Looks like it would be great for kids bday parties. Would recomend going for the price (16.00). Worth checking out the animals and supporting the animals.
Awesome reptile zoo, not big, not small) The reptiles show is very interesting!
Great place for the kids
Great fun for the kids. Beside the reptiles, they have some mammals: kangaroo, sloth, ferret and some other cute ones.
We had an amazing show at our house for a 6 year old birthday party and highly recommended. Bronwyn did an amazing job teaching and showing the kids about all the reptiles
Very knowledgeable and great efforts on taking care of rescued animals n endangered species
Our whole family loved this experience. The staff were very friendly and educational. As we were finishing our self-guided tour they came out and offered to open some of the terrariums so that our children could touch the animals! Then they let us come watch as they fed some of the snakes; it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
Had a great time last week. Great place to bring young kids as well, shows were very informative & fun for everyone!
Amazing variety of animals, fantastic shows and great for families of all ages! Will definitely come back.
Really fun experience! Wide variety of reptiles to see. Love all the rescue work they are doing. Kevin did great shows. Very interactive and great with kids!
I took my 3 grandkids there. We all had a great time. 90 minute one on one with all the reptiles. Excellent presentation, well worth the cost
Cool place. But all can be seen in 20 min or so. 3 people cost $50. Shows are about 10 min.
We took the private tour with sloth encounter for our daughter's 5th birthday. Ms B was an amazing guide! She was very informative about the animals and patient with our girls and all their questions. We loved meeting the animals, especially Olive the sloth who we got to pet and feed. Great experience!
What a fantastic experience, we went for the private tour and the sloth encounter and it was amazing. Our tour guide Bronwyn was very knowledgeable and really made the experience interesting and extra special. Then to top it all off we got to hold and feed a sloth! Would highly recommend, was absolutely worth it.
Surprisingly in depth exhibit with lots of curious animals. Come early when they are lively (and hungry)!
We had Little Rays come for our sons 10th birthday. It was AWESOME! For our animal loving kids, this up close and personal presentation was so fun and they were able to interact with so many different and exciting animals. We have enjoyed a number of Little Rays bigger shows at Bingemans over the years but having them come out to do this private party was truly a special experience. Highly recommend, and they do great work for the rescue animals they take care of.
Great place to see rescued exotic animals. Fun for all ages. Knowledgeable entertaining staff especially Paul Kennedy the Reptile Man he is amazing
I spent about 2 hours there on a Monday afternoon. Very quiet- there were only 2 or 3 other groups of people in attendance. As someone in their early 20's I wasn't sure if I would be too old to enjoy myself, but I had a lovely time! They did two presentations while I was there. During the first one they fed a rat to a giant snake, and the second presentation they let us touch an animal of our choice. The 4 of us in attendance decided on a snake, a skink, a tarantula, and a very tiny opossum. The instructor was very knowledgeable and excited to be there. The layout of the zoo is also great because you can view most tanks from multiple sides, so there's more opportunity to get a good look. I would definitely recommend this place to any animal lovers with a couple hours to kill. Worth the $15!
We did the VIP Sloth Encounter with private zoo tour and it was AWESOME!! Definitely worth the price, staff was wonderful and knowledge! Awesome experience, highly recommend!!
Good Times would definitely recommend this place for friends too go check out.????
No stars if i could do not bring your kids here very dangerous asked to see one of the animals and was told that we are not aloud due to the fact the animal was carrying the TB virus (tuberculosis) we left right away and will not be returning what kind of place has animals carrying diseases and not to mention the place smells very strong of urine like pneumonia STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE
We booked a reptile show for my son's 3rd birthday party last weekend. It was so convenient having the handler bring the animals right to us. Paul was amazing and brought an assortment of lizards, turtles, spiders and snakes. Pricing is very reasonable for what you get. The kids loved it and so did the adults. I'd recommend to anyone looking for something a little different.
Had them come to the home for my daughter's birthday party. Absolutely fantastic job! Zander was an awesome presenter. Kept all kiddies attention for the whole hour.
Great place to bring the kids for an hour or so. Shows we fun and interactive. Would go back.
Great experience for adults or kids, you're going to have a great time and learn a lot at the same time! They treat animals well and you can feel good about supporting their cause since they are an animal rescue and not a normal for-profit zoo. Staff is educated, professional and very approachable. It might look small from outside but, don't be fooled! Place is spacious and has lots of room for their animals.
Amazing!!! Had Little Ray's Reptile zoo for my daughters birthday. Can't say enough good things. The gentleman that brought the critters for the party was extremely knowledgeable and funny. Kept the kids and parents entertained and involved. Learned so much today. Thanks Little Ray's Reptile Zoo!!!
Staff were friendly, shows were great but it was a lil too hot in there
Very good with small kids. They really enjoyed the time they were able to learn more about the animals
Not bad for an indoors zoo. Although what made the experience better was the face to face interaction with some of their animals
I took my son here for the first time for his birthday. We had an awesome time, all the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals. They were very inviting and made my little guy feel so special! His favorite animals were Gypsy, Sugar and Flapjack. We definitely will be returning.
Paul was the best tour guide. Id recommend everyone go. We had a blast. Good for all ages and very interesting and engaging.
Kids had a great time...staff was great..I definitely be visiting again
It was amazing! Staff are great, place is well kept, and shows were too notch! We will be back!
Super fun and interesting for children and parents of all ages! Wish there was more interaction with the animals but over all great experience with the family.
My grandaughter had her 6th birthday party there and the snake attacked the trainer and he was bleeding profusely. All this happened in front of 10 , 6 year olds. There was not even a discount for the event. Not recommended unless you want a horror show.
If u are a true reptile lover and are interested in learning, this place is for you. Took us 2 hours to really enjoy it.
Love the people that work here they're so good with the animals and my kids just adore coming here I think we're going to buy the year membership!
We had a great visit during March break. The staff are great and you can tell the animals are well cared for. It's clean and super kid friendly. We will be back!
Super interesting to see the animals! They have interactive shows that really makes the trip worth it! They let us pet some animals and showed us a snake feeding. Thanks for having us!
Awesome place for my son....he is 7 and has also been a volunteer too Did summer camp too last year.
My family and I (6 adults, 2 kids, and a baby) booked a COVID-friendly private tour of the zoo today. It was so incredible and fantastic value for money! Our guide, Bronwyn, was amazingly knowledgeable about all of the animals. We got to hold and interact with many of the reptiles and my kids loved it!
Amazing experience! Took our toddler there today and Paul (The Reptile Man) showed us around. Our toddler and ourselves had a blast! The reptiles and animals are really taken care of well. We will definitely book another tour!
I have visited this place twice. The first time, the animal was looking great, moving around and staying active. However, the second time most of the animals are sleeping or not being active. My friend and I got disappointed ????
They have a large number of reptiles, some mammals, and birds. I liked the fact that the animals are rescue animals that were given homes at the zoo when their previous owners no longer wanted them. The children especially enjoyed the show where the were able to hold and touch the animals. The staff were friendly and informative.
Went with my just under 2 yo daughter today Staff were awesome. We got to show her some guinea pigs/bunnies one on one/ pet them...Their was a learning and "hold the reptile" show going on while we were there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Thanks to the kind staff. And we got to even see two lemurs eat eggs. Only two places possible in Hamilton to see that, this is the only legal one lol. Animals: all sorts of snakes, lemurs, alligators/crocs, spiders/tarantula, etc...
Very limited space for animals. We paid for 4 tickets. I barely stayed there for 10-15 minutes. It's a pity that that large animals are caged in a really small space. There's no love or compassion for animals.. it's nothing but a money making business.Wbusiness.What a Shame!
“Avoid this place for the safety and health of your kids”. It’s full of sick animals and the risk of TB infection is high in such condition. The admission fee is so high and the place is smelly and so boring. Don’t trust the positive reviews as many of them are fake.
Had a great time with the kiddos here for a birthday party. It was very fun and educational for all of us. It was very affordable to have our sons party here. Just don't breathe too deep around the porcupines lol.
Booked a time slot for a sloth meeting and was an amazing experience! You can tell the staff really care about the animals and use it as a teaching experience for attendees. Paul was extremely kind and wonderful to chat with while we were there and really made the experience fantastic! Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
This place is a hidden gem. This is my second time here. They have renovated the place and they have impressed me both times. My son age 5 absolutely loves this place. This time we had the pleasure of meeting Mercedes. Shes great with the kids, informative and polite. To be honest all the staff are great. The reptiles they have at little rays are amazing! They also do live feedings. Best reptile zoo i have been to in Ontario. I highly recommend them!
Very informative presentations ..clean clean!! It does not smell like most reptile stores. Great friendly staff!!
Great time waster if your in that area of Hamilton. Nice variety of animals. And enclosures were very clean and tidy.
Awesome! Very personable informative and fun! Great showa through out the day!! Highly recommend it! Great for all ages!!
I threw a birthday party for my daughter through Little Ray's. Our host, Zander, was amazing. He provided a thoroughly entertaining and educational show for the kids (and adults). Zander was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. I would recommend Little Ray's to anyone ok interested in having an animal themed birthday party. I'm sure the other staff is great too, but I highly recommend Zander. He was great.
2.5 year old had a great time. Loved the snakes, spiders, and kangaroos! He lasted about 2 hours before he was ready to go. Will come back!
We just visited the Hamilton location and were not disappoited in the least! Both my husband and I and our 2 kids had a great time at Little Rays! We were able to see 2 shows and also see a snake feeding, seriously so cool! The staff were so knowledgeable and so kind. Will definitely be going back.
Just an amazing experience, we enjoyed our day with our little one and the sloth encounter. The staff were so kind and patient. We are so greatful for this one and a lifetime memory we shared.
Nothing special about it. Might be intersting to the kids only not for adults.
First time visit to this location and truly happy with everything! I came here for a sloth encounter and fell in love with the baby sloth! Friendly staff, animals are awesome and I’m very happy to have visited. The staff there are so kind and love making you smile. They definitely made my experience a one of a kind moment that I will never forget! Thank you to the staff. Recommend this place for an unforgettable experience meeting a sloth ????
Little Ray's is so much fun! Every 20 minutes or so they take out reptiles for you to see/hold/touch. If you go during the week it's very quiet.
The visit was amazing!! Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. It was my son's birthday and they showed him snakes and lizards. He says this was his "best day ever". I highly recommend taking your family, everyone will love it. Lots to see and learn!!
We did the sloth encounter for my birthday and it was incredible! Olive is the most amazing, sweet creature and the staff were fantastic. Meeting and feeding a sloth is an unbelievably rare experience and we all fell in love with her. Worth every cent. Don't hesitate, you'll love it. Bring a good camera. Olive is very photogenic????????????
Great family place. Time your visit right and you can catch 2 demonstrations and a feeding.
Had a great time! Fun and educational for all ages!
All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Our guide, Bronwyn, was wonderful - you can really tell she cares about the animals and she is able to impart so much excellent information in a really fun, enthusiastic, and engaging way. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!
Took my 3 kids a 12, 10 and 7 yr old and the loved it. Shows where very educational and fun.
Awesome experience! Paul was amazing, super friendly and personable and really made it worth it. The whole experience felt really personal and it was great. 10/10 I'd do it again
Great place to get an annual pass. Lots of new things go to see each visit.
Thought this place was gonna suck given the area it was it and the outside of the building, but it was a really cool place! Sooooo many animals there and they do presentations of the animals frequently.
Kids enjoyed learning about many different types of animals through the hands on demonstrations. Great place to visit for a few hours
I had a good time, and I learned some things from the signs. The shows were interesting and interactive, including the opportunity to touch or hold several things including a tarantula, snake, rabbit, armadillo, lizard, and bearded dragon. Sooth feeding at noon was very cute.
So awesome. My family of 5 did a tour and sloth encounter. So worth it. We all had an amazing time. So fun, great for grown up and kids. We got to meet a tortoise and snakes. The sloth was amazing once in a lifetime. Especially during covid we needed something to look forward to, and the staff at little rays were dedicated to our safety with cleaning practices, social distancing, masks and lots of hand washing. Will definitely be back!
We had a blast here. Lots of cool animals to check out. We even got to say hello to a sloth.
We visited Little Rays in Hamilton. Bronwen guided us through the Sloth Encounter. She was knowledgeable, friendly and made the experience memorable. The centre was clean, inviting and filled with the most beautiful animals. It is evident that this zoo takes excellent care of the animals they have rescued. Our sloth encounter was an experience we definitely won't forget. We each got to hold Olive, feed her and pet her. Throughout the experience we learned so much about sloths, and in particular Olive's preferences. We were grateful for the warm welcome and the glimpse into the daily life of this beautiful creature. I would definitely recommend the experience to any animal lovers.
Cool place for kids. The staff are great.
Have been going for years....it should get 10stars ...they are wonderful people and the owner donates alot of free passes to underprivileged children...we go as often as possible
We had an amazing experience with zookeeper Bronwyn a few weeks ago. We did the vip tour and sloth experience for my son’s 10th birthday. We learned a lot during our tour, got to meet snakes, lizards, turtles, guinea pigs and of course Olive the baby sloth. My son was in heaven - truly a dream come true for him to even see a real one, let alone hold and feed one! I highly recommend this experience and my son is already planning a return trip next year to see how much Olive has grown.
Lots of different specimen's, and the terrariums were constructed so it was pretty easy to each each animal. The open theater provided an up close experience to a snake feeding, armadillo presentation, gecko viewing and tortoise event. Great stuff and is a must revisit.
Great place. Very friendly staff and lots of interaction with the animals.
Great experience! Very clean with lots to see and super personable staff. Constant interaction with animals. Highly recommend for families.
It wasnt great. My ticket was supposed to include a show and I expected reptiles but all they showed us was a skunk, a ferret, and a skunk. Kinda lame.
This place was amazing! There were 4 of us on a private tour which was definatly worth it. The tour was about 2 hours in length, we had one of the staff accompany our group and go through the exhibits as we walked through the place. She was so good! She was very nice and approachable. We had many great conversations with her about the animals that the have housed and she knew so much about the animals in their care. We even got to meet and touch/hold some of their amazing creatures that they have! It is also amazing that they operate as a rescue as well and that's where the majority of their animals have come from. Overall I would highly recommend this place for anyone who has a love or interest in reptiles. Our 10 year old nephew said it was the best birthday experience ever!
Great experience and price! Staff were very nice and had lots of information to share!
So much fun and very interactive. The kids even get to request the animal they want to pet.
Great place to get up close and personal. Lots of learning
Brought our grandson 1st time there we all enjoyed it very much
Absolutely love bringing my toddler here. Very educational and a lot of fun. We especially enjoy the animal one on one sessions where they bring animals out for people to meet.
Fantastic experience! Amazing value for the money, given we got to pet a snake, a turtle, a gecko, an armadillo, a skunk, a tarantula and more. Great shows! Including the live snake feeding, where you get to see a snake constrict its prey. The lemurs and the marmosets are so fun to watch! My 12 year old did not want to go home. Taking my nephews next, and hope to see the sloth awake.
Amazing presentations and animals. My kids loved it!
Great time and very informative..Recommend the private tour ????????
Great fun for younger kids... would be z frest school trip for kids to learn and write about
Amazing experience. We took our daughter and her cousins for her 4th birthday party. Kids ages 4-9. All the animals reptiles, snakes, crocodiles, sloths, chinchillas, ect were great! It was very fun and educational. Little Rays is a great animal rescue doing good work. Our tour guide Katie was exceptional. Patient with the young kids, very friendly, knowledgeable and made sure the kids were always comfortable with the animals. Highly recommended for animal lovers young and old. We will be back again. Thank you.
Great place to see. Some animals. The staff are friendly and very informative. My kids had the chance to feed Gemma the Kangaroo and watch one staff member feed another mammal.... It's not too big so don't expect anything grand! It's fairly new. Id love to come back and stay for the little show they have.
Little Ray's was absolutely outstanding! We took our two daughters for the youngest's birthday. The staff truly made it special! The girls got to hold and pet animals they'd never seen before. Currently they are only doing private shows, limited to those in your household/circle. It was completely worth every penny!!!
amazing! they did brief shows where they would take out 5 animals and talk about them and let the kids pet a hold some of them. my 2 and 4 year old love it
What a great way to spend a couple of hours. The zoo keeper was amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. Staff was very nice and helpful. Hope you guys get bigger and better!!!! Lovely day
It was AWESOME. Great tour. The kids LOVE IT. Worth every dollar. Great activity for kids and the family. The guide we had was FANTASTIC (her name started with a B lol. I don't want to spell it incorrectly) and very knowledgeable and friendly. The kids love having the opportunity to even interact with some of the animals which even enhanced the experience. Even the big kids aka the parents had a great time too. I recommend as a must go to activity for kids Good activity for multiple families and grandparents. Thank you Little Rays for a AWESOME time =)
Great staff, cute little zoo to go to with small kids if you have an hour to kill. My daughter loved it!
Not very big but perfect for indoor outing with young children. They have a show fairly often where they bring out animals and have opertunity to see them up close and pet.
Had a fantastic time at the zoo and with Wicket (their resident baby sloth)
We had a tour today and it was even more than I had hoped for. My three year old is non-verbal, and Paul was amazing with him! Paul took his time, made sure my little guy was comfortable with the animals, and kept him engaged, which can be hard to do sometimes. My boy usually doesn't like new people, but thanks to Paul's amazing personality not only was my boy interested in what Paul was doing, he was holding his hand and completely involved in the whole experience. I find that some places don't really put on the full show when they realize my son is non-verbal, they just show him around and tend to leave out the informative talks. Paul explained everything we were seeing, and gave facts pertaining to the animals and their natural lives and habitats. I honestly learned so much from him today and really appreciate how much effort he put into our visit. The people working with him are so friendly and helpful, you can see how much they love what they do! The facility is very clean, the animals are obviously very well looked after, and they have all precautions in place to have a safe, social-distanced, interactive experience. I will definitely be going back; I highly recommend everyone visits at least once! Thank you to everyone there for providing such an amazing experience!
Such cool reptiles and animals. Super fun for kids and adults. But it smells pretty bad
Great little spot to spend some time with kids. You can get nice and close to the animals, which is great, and staff was excellent. We spent 1.5 hours there, including an animal show.
I had an awesome experience with the animals! Excellent Staff as well! I was able to pet a python, lizard and and an armadillo.Outside looks sketchy but inside is amazing!
Great Selection Of Reptiles. Went For A Sloth Encounter And Was Very Good. Although Prices Are A Little High.
Great experience! Very kid friendly and interactive..Definitely will be back.
Wonderful experience I highly recommend it. My 13 and 10 dear old daughters loved it and so did I. The stuff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful memorable family experience!!
Kaitlin came to our home in Mississauga for an animal show for my daughter's birthday. She was AMAZING! She did such a great job with the kids. She was super patient with all of them, even though some kept interrupting her. I was really impressed with her patience as well as her knowledge of the animals and her interactions and conversation with the children. She is absolutely superb and I wanted to let you know how happy I am with her and with your services. Thanks for helping us have an amazing birthday party!
I just want to say what a great show. We had little Rays come and do a show for our granddaughters 9th birthday and it was awesome.. We had children from the ages of 2 1/2 up to 11 and they all extremely enjoyed it.. Jessie(sorry if I spelt it wrong) was the handler and he was very informative and interacted very well with all the kids.. He spoke to them in words they all could understand and put the children's safety as well as all the animals safety first..I would definitely have them come again and highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you again, Dave and Bonnie Finch
I always seem to have a discount coupon offer for Little Ray's come up in my email. One Sunday I was in Hamilton with my Grandkids so I decided to use it. When I first saw that it was in a stripmall I was a little underwhelmed, but when we entered we really saw that our apprehensions were unwarranted. The animals in the zoo are rescue animals from other zoos or from irresponsible pet owners. My grandkids loved seeing the different animals close up, snakes, crocodiles, caymans, spiders and birds. There was a different show every fifteen minutes or so. We saw a snake being fed and we had opportunities to touch different animals. My little ones loved it and the adults really saw how much learning was going on in the zoo. The zoo was not too busy and we could see and ask questions. The staff was very informed, friendly and helpful. We must have spent the better part of three hours in this amazing place. A week later my grandkids are asking when we will return. Luckily I found out Little Ray's is doing an outreach program at my Mother's Retirement home, I am sure that the seniors will love it as much as the little ones.
Little Rays is a rip off. As a rescue he charges entrance fees into his store as if you are a customer and then also charges a drop off fee. Nothing but a money grab
My 8 and 5 year olds had a blast here! The staff is amazing and super friendly. Every 20-30 minutes there is an interactive show where kids can either pet or hold different reptiles and lizards! The did not want to leave! Will definitely be coming back!
Just took my son for a private tour for his birthday and it was AMAZING! Xander was our guide and was super knowledgeable and so friendly. We had such a great afternoon! Thank you!
friendly staff we loved the animal educational show my boy touched the animals and get to know them closely place is small and dark
This was Ana amazing experience. Once I a lifetime. So happy we did this!
Probably the best zoo experience of my life! The staff were amazing with my kids (ages 4 and 6) and even the adults were enamoured with the animals! Everyone had the best time! Highly recommend! We also signed up for the sloth experience and it was great. Very gentle creature!
Love this place ,so much fun for the family ,big thumbs up been twice so far and will be going back ,love there love show they talk about a few of there animals and let everyone pet them.. a for sure place to go to with the family, and cost ,is good too..
Avoid wasting your money and time here. This is not a zoo. Only a small place with some miserable and sick animals. I am really surprised about the positive reviews some people have wrote. I just visited there and it was horrible! The place has an awkward odor upon entrance which even my child was complaining about it. The cages are very small, dirty and many of them empty of animals. The entrance fee is very high compared to prestigious and well known zoos in the world. All in all, this is just a jail for some unlucky and ill animals.
This place is a sad, animals in co cages, stuck inside for their whole life. Real zoos are bad enough.
The staff is very knowledgable and my 2 year old loved seeing all the creatures!
Great place to visit with the kids or even for adults and since its indoor Little Rays is a great destination during the winter. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.
We took our kids here for a private tour and a sloth interaction. I've gotta say Paul blew us away! That man was so friendly, funny, great with kids, knowledgable, overall he made the experience what it was, which was amazing. Our other kid already asked to go there for her birthday next. We will definitely be back. Thanks for an amazing time, Paul!
It really didn't look like much when we first walked in, but it goes back farther than it looks and they have a nice selection of animals. The employees are knowledgeable and they seem to give frequent shows with the various animals.
Such a fun place to book a private tour. Happy to support a local business during the pandemic and get the family out of the house. Also to see all the rescued animals. Ontario offers a staycation credit for 2022 tourism. This is a great way to apply it and reinvest in the area.
Love going to rays reptiles. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and many learning opportunities. Great for kids as well as adults!
Great place to spend 1-3 hours viewing, interacting with and learning about reptiles and other animals.
Friendly staff and a Big collection of animals... our 3 yr old son loved it.
Tip | Plan your time... | ...based on what you want to see. Events | Feeding times are fun. | They have timed shows | Talking for adults | Petting reptiles for kids. | The kids get a bot bored. Facilities | Separate Bathrooms available | Walk around and see the reptiles. Time | Thirty (30) minutes might be enough. Caution | Not a 'safe' area for nice cars | Car two down from us robbed... | ...window smashed, stolen items.
Great place, my 2 year old enjoyed looking around. Very clean, the presentation was well run and very interesting they are so patient. Great place for all animal lovers.
So much fun! Kids loved the experience and enjoyed watching the snake eat the rats!!
Our family had a great time at Little Rays Reptile Zoo! The staff is very knowledgeable and made the experience fun for my 1 year old! It has been a highlight during this pandemic to be able to feel safe while doing something "normal" with our family! I would recommend this zoo!
We come here every few months. My son absolutely loves seeing the wide variety of animals, and it's a really fun for myself and my fiancee being able to pet some of them at their shows. Excellent experience every time!
This is one of the best experiences with animals ive ever had. The staff knew what they were doing and were incredibly nice. I would absolutely recommend
Good place for kids. Lots to see and do. They have a threater were the bring out different types of reptiles so the kids can touch them.Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoy.
My son received a ticket for a private tour for his birthday and it couldn't have been a more perfect experience. Our tour guide, Bronwyn, was very knowledgeable and patient with my 2 little kids on the tour. She was great with the animals, and my kids thoroughly enjoyed getting to pet and hold plenty of the reptiles. The animals there were incredible! The whole family learned lots and can't stop talking about our time there!
Great little zoo. Fun staff, cool creatures.
Cool little spot. Good price. Good hour of fun. Please deal with the ant problem where you do the shows and get some working a/c or ventilation.
Thank u so much . Me and my family had a beautiful time and definitely and will be coming back . My kids loved it.
While the outside looked small, inside was huge/more collection arranged in that space. The team was very friendly and my kid loved. Will definitely visit again and strongly recommend for kids and reptile enthusiast
It was great to pop in here on a cold day. There are a lot more animals in here than it appears on the outside! Also, there are lots of descriptions of the animals so it becomes a good learning opportunity. The best was the reptile shows they hold regularly. Also, they often advertised on Groupon for an even better price. The Dutch in me likes that ????
Visited the place today with our kids. The place is very clean and well orgonized. Paul did the tour for us and we cold not ask for a better tour guide. He was very interactive with kids, lots of humor, knew pretty much everything about the animals. We got to pet the sloth, now my wife wants one :). We enjoyed it a lot.
It is very warm in there. Well of course it is because there are cold blooded animals in there right? But you don't think of that when it's dead winter and you are going there for a birthday party! I would recommend this place for a birthday for sure. Just bring a t shirt, and a fly swatter.
Lots of cool creatures. Got there in time for a live show where you see, learn about and touch a few of their creatures. We got to touch a legless lizard, ball python and a caiman. My 4 year old loved it!
I come here all the time with my nephew, and we always have a great time and we can tell how much everyone there cares for the animals and today proved it even more. We found an abandoned snake and we called them and they were here in less than 10 minutes, and discussed what his name should be with us. Anyone who has something bad to say about this place is obviously someone who just likes to complain.
Staff are friendly and we'll knowledgeable. Regular interaction and information sessions are provided with the animals making it a great place to visit for people of all ages.
We had an awesome time on our private tour of Little Rays.
Wow! This is an amazing place. The Zoo is clean, organized well, and they go way above and beyond to accommodate us humans. So, they obviously go even further caring for the animals. If you have never been here, I highly recommend.
Victoria, the staff person who did the live shows, was outstanding. Knowledgeable, interactive and attentive to the audience. Three thumbs up!????????????
Very fun place, kids had a blast. The animal show's are actually really interesting and interactive
It's ok. It's interesting but overpriced.
A little overpriced for what you are seeing. The only thing scarier than seeing reptiles is the employee Cleetus doing the live show and being blatantly racist with jokes targeted towards certain audience members present as well as ignoring certain people in the audience. Maybe this is normal in Hamilton, but I don't want my kids to think this behaviour is acceptable. I walked out and took my kids out while the show was still running. Luckily it only takes 5-10 minutes to see all the reptiles in the place. I would recommend saving your money to go to the zoo or Niagara Falls. First and last time I'll go here.
I was really disappointed I thought it would be alot more exciting. My grandkids found it very boring
BEST DAY EVER!! The staff was knowledgeable and kind. They were really good with the kids. Answered all their questions. We did the private tour with sloth encounter! Well worth drive and money! Thank you so much!!
