Fresh food and wonderful patio parking can be a little difficult
The captain was very friendly and gave us a lot of historical and interesting information regarding bay, while on the boat. me and my wife enjoyed a lot and eould definitely recommend it to my friends.
Our annual summer team party was aboard the Hamilton Harbour Queen. We had a beautiful evening for a cruise of the harbour with some lovely scenery. For those not familiar with the area it was not narrated. The setup of 4 people per table is not conducive for mingling if it is a large group, especially since the tables are around the perimeter and the self serve table is in the middle . After supper there is an opportunity to wander the boat, mingle and take in the scenery. The food was mediocre at best and tepid to cold. I ordered the chicken which they brought out to the table on a plate by itself and then I needed to wait about 10 min for my table to be told I could go for the vegetables. I live in Hamilton and always wanted to do this but probably won't go again.
Hamilton Harbour not the prettiest but you can't beat being out on the water!
We boarded the HHQ for our anniversary and to be honest the mixed reviews worried me a bit. However the food, service and experience was fantastic. Even when it rained a bit the company was great and the staff were all sweethearts. Would do it again in a heartbeat. This is a not an inexpensive excursion but it was well worth it for the atmosphere and the jazz band was fantastic.
Great Cruise
(Translated) I was very disappointed. It was a buffet will remain. They were afraid of running out of food. The members look stupid. They showed us around the industries and that's it. The only thing they want is your money ... Not recommended ...
Had a great time. DJ Danny had the party jumping. Can't wait to go back!
The Hamilton Harbour Queen performs sightseeing cruises, dinner cruises, dance party cruises and private charters. The staff on the boat are top notch and really care about your experience on the boat. If you live in Hamilton and have never been on board I highly recommend it.
Attended the Country Cruise last night. Will not attend again. Paid 48$ for a ticket that was not worthy of this. Told there would be munchies... we were portioned to 2 small squares of Pizza Pizza, 5 fries and 1 boneless chicken wing. All bought from Pizza Pizza and was cold. Not what I had in mind... DJ was not very good and did not play the fun country songs to get up dancing... I mean who plays cotton eyed Joe at the end of the night?! Also didnt help his girlfriend was all over him all night... perhaps he would have been more engaged with the crowd had he been paying more attention. I will not go again... not worth the money.
Enjoyable tour with a nice captain!
Was a bit skeptical about coming on the cruise but I had a date with my fiance during their dinner cruise, and the food was delicious! The beef tenderloin was really good. The performer was great too; it was an acoustic performance. Would def come again, the views were gorgeous when the sun set!
Always fun to take a ride on the harbour queen!
My wife and I enjoyed our time! Great food, cruise and company! Staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend it!
Amazing atmosphere! They do dancing and the view is great while you're at it.
Had a great time doing the lunch cruise on the Harbour Queen. Food was great and the service was awesome. Definitely recommend.
A great way to see the city. A very fun time
Aug 20, 2017 - we are at the Hamilton harbour and the boat is at the harbour but no crew – so no sightseeing cruise! Very poor show. Don't expect anything from this outfit!
Unfortunately my experience in this boat wasn't the best. I paid for a dinner and boat ride. It was a buffet. When it was me and my girlfriends turn to get our food, they ran out. There was a few other customers who didn't eat. I spoke to a few staff member until I spoke to the owner named Albert. I explained to Albert that you didn't deliver what I bought. His explanation was he accidentally undersold me a ticket and it was not dinner but "finger food". I said to him I don't care what food but me and a few others didn't get any food. He then said he would give me a beer on the house, which I declined because we were docking in 10 minutes. He then told me that I should call him on the weekend and he would give me a fair refund. He texted me sat to say he will refund me 50 percent. And to call him Monday. Monday comes and he is ignoring me. I'm currently disputing this with MasterCard. I'm not happy and will be taking things even further until the owners refunds me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE The owner did refund me after some time. I changed the review to accommodate that.
Enjoyed the community cruise with my mom and 3 out of 4 of my kids, maybe next time it is offered my other don will feel better and get to go too, really enjoyed it, would love to get to more cruises out on the queen, friendly staff, nice tour, had some nice goodies, just need to stock up on Apple juice. It was relaxing. Highly recommend to enjoy this Hamilton treasure.
Very nice
We had a lovely afternoon sailing. Our grandchildren were thrilled. We enjoyed learning the historical facts of the area and seeing the wildlife and views . The children definitely enjoyed seeing the war ship HMS Haida from the water as well. Highly recommend the sightseeing cruise. It is for all ages. Thumbs up ????.
Lovely place to visit
Check it out and see for yourself
Really cool experience here! Didn't know Hamilton had anything like this. Great service, music and a great cruise altogether
Dear Capt. Mark, I really loved your tour that you gave us. I really had fun steering the wheel. It was fun learning the history about the Bay. I especially liked looking at the boats that were parked. In my opinion, they should have given you the statue. Thank you. Elliot. ( as dictated to Nana)
Garbage food...always same...last year was same..tasteless ..hate their food
I still haven't been but I already know it will be fantastic. I live out West so next time my visit to Hamilton will include the Harbour trip. There cannot be one thing negative about a harbour boat trip.
The hour sightseeing cruise is easy for first-time goers--like me ;) Quite enjoyable. Nice views. Good for all ages.
Pleasant ride
Nice place
Fantastic trip to see the industrial revolution move forward. Good waterfront tour of Hamilton. Great staff and service! Kudos!
It's beautiful
Great perspective of the Harbor.
I wouldn't reccomend this tour. Coming from a person that lives outside of Hamilton, I had no idea as to where we were touring around or the significance of what we were seeing. There was no interactions between the boat works or the people on the tour. A pamphlet of what we were viewing, if not a speaker and some type of historical information would of been nice. There could of been information shared about the sites, Hamilton itself, the boat we were on etc. But there was nothing. I also felt like the food was at best, medicore wedding venue food. Nothing special. The wine was served in small glasses and I was disappointed to see that some of the names on the wine lists were spelled wrong. As a supplier, I would be incredibly embarrassed and upset to see this. I was also disappointed because we wanted to sit outside near the end. However, no time frame was given that we were docking and we weren't permitted to sit outside while this was happening. I would save yourself the $80.00 and spend it elsewhere.
Go it's a wonderful cruise!!!
A must when in the area to take a harbour or dinner cruise
What a wonderful evening our group had. We certainly recommend an evening on the Hamilton Harbor Queen to those of you that enjoys a good party atmosphere with a theme. Motown night was excellent. Thanks to all the friendly and helpful staff for their kindness too.
Great day on the water and in the sun. You get to see elements of Hamilton from a new and different perspective. The tour guide would do well to know the words of his harbour descriptions, and moderate the volume. Everyone friendly on board our trip, so a good and inexpensive tour.
Absolutely disappointing. Not worth the $80 price! Before booking the $80 per person dinner cruise I had read multiple great reviews and also spoke with someone from the office so I was pretty excited to sail last week Friday. Unfortunately it was a massive let down. The tour/cruise itself was past disappointing with the majority of it spent sailing close to the shoreline and looking at abandoned rusted ships and some quite unattractive areas. Very very underwhelming. While the "crew" was nice enough, it was apparent that they were summer hires and not at all a crew to serve an $80 dinner meal or help to present an experience (not their fault). Not to mention drinks were served in plastic cups, tables were called up individually and by the time we got to the food, it was all but scraps left over. Additionally, those who opted for the chicken were presented a plate with chicken at the table and then had to wait to be called up to get the rest of their food. Needless to say, the chicken was cold by the time we went up. While there was live music, it started quite late and the song selections felt a bit out of place for during dinner. After dinner was fine. Some of the not so great reviews I read shared positives (such as the lower price for lunch cruises) but, unlike those I cannot. The description of the cruise painted an amazing picture that it did not live up to. As a suggestion, perhaps the cruise operator(s) could consider adjusting their cruise route and also taking in a Toronto a dinner cruise themselves to get some inspiration that could help to better deliver on what their dinner cruise description promises.
Awesome staff. Great DJ.
I had an opportunity to take this bout tour with my wife and daughter. Captain Mark made this trip really interesting and enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Thank you Captain Mark to make our trip so enjoyable. Highly recommended. The price is also very reasonable.
I had such a great experience on one of Hamilton harbour queen's party cruises! Latin heat night was really cool and fun. They served tacos by The Mule, which were AMAZING! Staff was really friendly and helpful, and the dj was great too! Everyone was dancing and the energy was great! Would definitely recommend.
I didn't enjoy the scenery but the food was great
Had a great time on this cruise! Our experience was only enhanced by the crew, which was accommodating and welcoming!
Service was great and the dinner was delicious!
Awesome
It was great having a narrator on board to explain what we were seeing as we toured the Bay. Enjoyed music inbetween while sipping on a bevie from the bar.
Nice visit
We had a great evening and both my partner and I enjoyed the experience thoroughly! Overall: - the food was excellent and more than we could eat and the gin-tonics cold and crisp - the ship was clean and maintained and there were many vantage points from which to look at the views - staff were plentiful and friendly - we loved the close up views of the usually hidden industrial shores and commercial harbours of Hamilton, impossible to see any other way than by water — a particular rough, gritty beauty of its own that really epitomizes the heart of Hamilton - the ticket price was more than worth it and extra drinks were very reasonable - had a great sunset too Of note: we were running late, literally, and the owner went out of her way to call us to check that we were going to make it, and we did, sprinting up the gangway! We’ll be back with my partner’s mother when she visits from overseas later this summer. Many thanks!
4 of us attended the Latin cruise last night. It was unclear whether or not food would be provided so we were excited when we were handed a ticket and told to save it for the "dinner buffet". Needless to say I would hardly call a chicken strip, a small empanada and 2 taquitos a buffet. The music cut out 3 times for at least 30 mins each time. The poor dj was scrambling to get the music back up and running. All in all not worth $48 per person, we will not be returning.
My friend from England and this old Hamilton gal really enjoyed our boat tour with Captain Mark! Loved his comical touches to the history he shared. Would recommend this tour highly. Wish it was at least 30 minutes longer.l
we sent my friend and her cousin on the cruise today. the silverware came to the table dirty like it had not seen any water. the staff just brushed it off with a curt sorry. the food was hot some of it . she was very disappointed in the cruise and would not recommend it.
An excellent 45 min tour of hamiltons historic inner harbour with an incredible view to boot! The Captin has a vast amount of knowledge to share about the history of the inner harbour and the landmarks around it....historic war ships..times of prohibition and tragic train wrecks. You will not be dissapointed ....if youre lucky you may get to captin the boat!
Cool your of the harbour and a great place to walk around. Lots to do and see.
Food sucked. Hamilton bay is not really attractive.
Unfortunately pretty disappointed in this tour, from the excessively long boarding process to the excessively long exit. Very little of interest on the tour which stayed on the steel mill side of the bay, and didn’t even go the entire length, not attractive, and very boring. The only appealing part of this tour was the low price we paid.
Great time taken the cruise with my son for Farthers day.
It was a nice sightseeing cruise and I learned some things about the Hamilton area I didn't know before. Unfortunately, the Hamilton Harbor just isn't all that exciting to tour. To be fair this isn't a slight on the tour company. The experience was about what I would have expected. We got to see the HMCS Haida, a lot of industrial sites, and some of the nicer areas across the bay in Burlington and the harbour front trails. This is essentially Hamilton personified: sometimes dirty, rough and tough, but beneath it all there's a hidden beauty that's there to discover. Food and drink was priced about the same as a movie theatre.
Sunday afternoon, my friends and I (2 visitors from Toronto who had not visited Hamilton before) took a boat tour of Hamilton Harbour with Captain Mack! It was excellent! I had taken this tour about 5 years ago with visitors from England and, (although I enjoyed it at that time also), I found the speech about Hamilton area hard to hear above the motor's noise! This was not the case yesterday, and all the details MOST interesting! Cudos to Captain Mack! and Thanks- a great way to tell both residents and visitors about our great city! Gerry Benson; Marie Nuss, and Donna Rioux
Absolutely Awful the boat just kinda went in circles in the middle of the bay, not getting close enough to any scenery to actually see it so the boat ride itself is a complete waste of time and money, but the food was also mediocre and COLD, and to top it all off one of the engines died due to improper maintenance and we were stuck out in the bay over an hour longer than normal, and then they couldnt even get the anchor up after they got the engine going again and it took another 40 minutes to get THAT dealt with too Absolutely Incompetent from start to end, do NOT waste your money here
Avoid this company. Made reservations for brunch July 9 for the August 18 tour brunch. Nobody showed up! No body called! No one answered the phone during that brunch date. They took my Visa payment in full and didn't even show the courtesy of a cancellation call. The Hamilton Waterfront Trust is not responsible for this companies appalling behavior. However; they were very empathetic and stated that this company does not even return their calls. I called the Banking centre for credit charge dispute. We went to Madson's on Locke Street for lunch. That's a different review. I personally would not give this company the time of day. If you are thinking of a Wedding tour I would think again. This is not the first time this company has showed a total disregard for business ethics. You have been warned!
Very nice
Relaxing nice Sceanary
Friendly staff. Affordable and very informative trip.
Nice summer outing
Had a staff party there. Had a lot of fun!
Horrible experience. The food was dry and tasteless!
Good place to start when exploring Hamiltons bay area.
If I could give 0 stars for this cruise I would. After waiting an hour and a half for any type of food to be served, we were finally presented with COLD pizza pizza. After paying nearly $100 for this experience and expecting to be having a nice date night, this is extremely disappointing. I would not recommend going on a cruise like this to anyone. In all of the pictures on the website it shows a lovely setup and a nice dinner that is being served. Honestly astonished that something like this would happen for the price we paid. There was absolutely nothing throughout the booking period that said we would be served pizza pizza. Do not attend one of these cruises.
Attended a wedding on this boat, had the best time.. really neet experience n excellent food highly recommend
Awesome Halloween party
A neat tour if you like seeing the steel mill up close It passes close to HMCS Haida war ship
It is so beautiful and it's so nice to set and relax
Was amazing the trolley and the boat
Attended a few weeks back for an evening dance cruise. The Hamilton Harbour Queen has such potential, sadly it doesn't deliver. The D.J. obviously did not care to appeal to the musical tastes of the demographic. When he did oblige a few requests, the floor was filled with people dancing. He did not interact with the guests and played what he wanted to hear. The captain and staff were lovely and engaging. If better entertainment is hired, there is no stopping the heights of success they will achieve!
Went on a party cruise recently (Hammer on the harbour I think) and it was so much fun! I don't usually go out to these kinds of things (because I can't dance), but I'm happy I did. The staff was awesome and service was quick. Thanks for the great time!
