Lots to do. Family focused. Great park
Visited July 26 and had a good time swimming here, water was clear, lots of visitors. Door is a little expensive for such a tiny lake. We went to Kelso’s as well and the water this year isn’t as clean as Gulliver’s.
Nice clean water fresh spring feed lake .
(Translated) A good place to camp and enjoy the tranquility (Original) Un buen lugar para acampar y disfrutar de la tranquilidad
Went for open water dive, got a discount. The water was decent, a bit murky.
Great and beautiful place to go with friends and family for BBQ and swimming!
Great place
What a beautiful spot just minutes from the city! We went for a tour hoping to get a seasonal site and understandably they are full. We were given a great tour by Cassandra and offers to help as we start our full time camping adventure! Looking forward to hopefully getting a spot for next spring.
Nice place for an old fashioned swim
It's ok water cloudy and its cash only to get in but it's ok I'll definitely be going back again oh almost forgot very very clean just the out houses are a very long ways away from the divers
Great for a day out in the sun. Swimming, kayaking, scuba lessons. BBQ and volley ball. Great for family and also great for a day of moderate drinking and socializing.
Staff are rude. It ruins the experience. I wouldn't go here.
Be weary of swimmers itch going around at Gullivers, worst experience I’ve had there in years with family.
Great spot for triathlon training
It's a beautiful park.
So. I was out today to visit a friend on his birthday who is an owner of a mobile home. We were waiting for him to come up to the front and let us in and this rude obnoxious lady come outs and questions very rudely “what do you want, what are you doing here” not very welcoming when I was just waiting for a friend, and I said my friend has a pass available to me (me not knowing the resort I didn’t know the rules about passes) she brings out the sheet and asks what my name was and I said my name and she demanded 20$ for me and my partner since I wasn’t on the list. She rudely asked for it. Basically treating us like a criminal. I am not a criminal I was a friend trying to come out and see a friend on his birthday. I didn’t know any procedures or anything and she was snippy at me (blonde hair with glasses) we finally decided screw it and we left because she was looking like she was going to call the cops on us (like criminals which we aren’t) we were at the local lion safari enjoying a great day until this lady ruined it because she is so money hungry. We only were able to visit for 15 min at most and still 20$. As we were leaving my friend drove up and she reamed him out right in front of us and being very rude to him on his birthday. Sorry I’m just so furious with this woman. The ground are beautiful and gorgeous it’s a shame these clowns are running it. Please DO NOT GO HERE FOR A VACATION YOU WILL BE TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL AND THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY! Thanks and I hope this steers you away from this bad customer service.
Pulled up to our site to find 2 used mattresses !?! The clean washrooms were a nice treat
Looks like a great family place.
Great
always fun but a outhouse near beach wood be better then walking that far to parking lot.. also more garbage bins
PARASITIC! Noticed after I got out of the water after a day swim that I was itchy, as was others I was with. Didn't think much of it. Turns out there's a parasite in the lake that causes what's called "swimmers itch". Looks like the chicken pox or hundreds of mosquito bites all over my body. It's itchy and burning everywhere even after 3 days. Apparently waterproof sunblock is an effective repellant of the parasites. Wish I had of known this before I went swimming. THANKS FOR THE NOTICE GULLIVERS LAKE MANAGEMENT!! Or rather lack thereof.
Basic RV Park. Came for the day for some scuba diving training. No underwater sites, and water is very cloudy
Great artificial lake. No motorized water vehicles allowed which is nice. The water is very deep so don't bring "dive for" toys. The area with picnic benches and the playground gets VERY busy on a nice day so bring your own lawn chairs and shade and then you get some virtually private space. We find the water warm in early July. Looks like lots of scuba diving schools come from Toronto. $10 for an adult $5 for kids is totally worth it if you'll be spending minimum 3 hours here.
Beautiful park and lake. You can come here and enjoy a full day without issues you run into free parks lol
This place used to be fantastic until ownership changed a few years ago. The new manager has made it very easy to turn myself and everyone i know away from this place in the future. We have come probably 5 times since ownership changed as we kept wanting to give it a chance, however the new manager always found a way to make me not want to come back.
Answer to Justin, There is no tent camping at Gulliver's, There is no fishing at Gulliver's And finally, the showers are fully temperature controlled Have you ever actually visited our Park?
I liked it. Fun atmosphere. Have to pay to get in. Not too expensive
Best swimming in Southern Ontario.
Warning -- awful swimmers itch here!! Not sure if they are doing anything about it as it gets worse every year. This place used to be managed fairly well but the new owners are... ridiculous to say the least. My family owns a trailer here but if you have the choice, I'd recommend to steer clear!
The lake is beautiful with really nice water but this year I have been shocked at how rude the new management staff are. It’s like they hate their job and they treat guests like a nuisance rather than valued customers. If you have to interact with the staff they ruin the experience.
Great dive park
Itchy worter but you can walk around and drink!
Our family love's visiting Gulliver's everytime ❤️
Very relaxing and pleasant. We recommend Gulliver's Lake to everyone who wants to spend time in nature near water. Very kid friendly place.
We have been there several times and sadly, I have to agree with the previous review of Dave Peter, Max Robertson and other, the staff working there is extremely rude. Doesn’t that mean the owner simply doesn’t care about his business?? The last Sunday we just arrived and wanted to look around and decided whether to stay (it was crowded) or to find a different place. Of course, we parked our car on designated parking area. This 5 min delay raised such a big frustration from the cashier that we received many threats. The more we were trying to be polite the more furious she was. She screamed and yelled at us and called the manager. She came with a cigarette in her mouth, didn’t inquire the whole situation, didn’t talk with us and just called the police. Needless to say, we were very upset and our day was ruined. The police officer was very polite, asked us several questions and advised two other parks nearby, where we finally went. Talking about the park itself, I would like to add that it was much better before owners changed. There were a lot of tables, barbeques, garbage bins, toilets and a clean changing room. Now the other side of the pond, which is secluded, you can’t have a barbeque even if you bring one. Week ago we were there and had to leave earlier ( 7:30p.m.) because of same “lady with butt in her mouth” even though we asked them the closing hours and they answered 9pm. But the worst thing is the inappropriate attitude and behavior, clients and guests received from people working there!!! BY THE WAY, it will be great idea to change staff for more friendly and polite team.
july 9th 2019. The lake was beautiful and warm, my husband and i came home with an itch all over , I think there might be a paricite, but saying this we hff ave been going for 4 years and never had this...I think they call it swimnmer itch.
The lake has very low visibility for scuba but a good place to go with kids to swim for the day.
Nice for swimming or to scuba dive.
Great beautiful place
The lake is the best part. Most of the staff are pleasant but not all...
Diving conditions were very murky.
Super fun for the kids to play at
Started coming here for the day use. It's so nice and relaxing. Great place to take the kids. The parking lot is close to the water and the washrooms actually flush ???? everyone seems to enjoy themselves and the campers were friendly.
I have been taking my kids here for the past 4 years just for day us. The grounds are very clean, the washrooms are clean and they are always monitoring and keeping the place clean. The staff are so friendly. I definitely recommend this place!!!
Great place for triathletes to train. Clean water all summer long. 1k course around the edge. Good roads for cycling nearby.
I have gone to this lake about a dozen times over the past 8 years or so. The lake itself is nice, water temperature is always warm and refreshing. The floating docks are a fun touch. But it has always been noisy and over crowded. With the price continuing to rise it is now far too expensive. In the past I may have given a rating of 3 stars or more but with my most recent, very short visit, I am inclined to go with 1. The staff was incredibly rude, which lead to leaving 5 minutes after entering the park and demanding a refund. Due to these reasons, I will not be returning nor will I suggest visiting this park to anyone.
Clear lake clean
Love to go swimming ... But sometimes it's over crowded
Love it
Super friendly staff Brenda and her son John are very nice . Campground has a really nice lake . Only seasonal sites are available for camping . Nice day use area by lake
Not a long drive from Mississauga, clean, love the surroundings, peaceful.
It's a trailer park ... the lake is ok in the spring but gets really green. It's great for beginners to work in the scuba basics but don't expect to see anything amazing. It would be cool if they where to sink a boat or something. it's 6$ for divers that are part of a club to visit and dive. Lots of swimmers working on there tri's show up on Tuesday night. Now about the staff at the park (gate) - complete let down is all I can say. Very rude. If you can tolerate the attitude than its an ok place to use.
Great swimming... Friendly Staff... Beautiful surroundings
What a time! I mean everytime the fun in the park never ends. THE POT HOLES NEED TO BE FIXED IN THE SEASONAL PART.(the only negative thing)
Al and his team where so great and helpful, made our event run so smoothly. What a great day for our team, couldn’t have done it without the support from the great staff at the resort. I would recommended this for your next summer event.
The staff and especially that blonde older woman are horrible, she’s extremely rude and made everyone I was going to the lake with and myself very upset. We do not plan to come here again.
A great place for a swim and a picnic by a lake in nature! The water is clean and clear and warm (spring fed)! It's an old quarry, and features a roped beach area, safe for kids of all ages! I like that they accept non-motorized sports equipment and floaties! If you're concerned about swimmers itch, speak with the office because they have good info and ways to prevent it. Not everyone gets swimmers itch. I'm a 2nd year RV resident and love the RV park! It's friendly, calming and sociable! Good sized lots and fair priced fees! Keeping our RV here for many more years! Thanks!
Great place for triathletes to swim and train from. Friendly owners.
Great spot to complete a Scuba Diving open water course. The grounds are also great for BBQ and picnics. The fee is $10 to enter and park on the grounds. Did the diving on May 5.
Great place to spend with family and friends! Super clean and close to home!
My family and I have enjoyed Gulliver's lake for the past 20 years. This season, the water is filthy along the edge of the lake, it's not getting skimmed along the side shoreline. We've visited 3 times this year, disappointed each time. It does not appear the new management is taking care of this problem and they are not friendly. One more note to add, the duck itch is terrible this year!!! My kids are covered from head to toe in bites. I guess it's time for us to find a new family spot!
Great area for parties or picnics. The lake is pretty clean and nice.
Surprisingly awesomeness!!
Nice quiet family place
Very well kept. Not as many options for kids at other places I've been to, but talking to the new owners (who were very nice) it seems that they have plans for new attractions, some of which are already in motion. Is quite relaxing, and what I would consider to be pretty laid back and quiet. Lot sizes are big, and plentiful. A good choice of you're looking to relax and appreciate the outdoors
Very nice place, looks like a fun spot for seasonal camping
First time visit here, just for the day for their yearly fair. Had an amazing time, great value for the money. Very friendly and courteous staff, excellent activities for the kids, and the lake is unbelievably clean and clear, obviously well maintained. Only Note: No glass allowed in park. This should be posted to their public website and not just their Facebook page. Drinking and smoking is allowed in this park, though we didn't find it to be an issue.
Fantastic place
No dogs allowed
It is a pretty basic trailer park. Not too much to say about it. If you want to stay there with a tent you can just pitch a tent in a field of grass. This sounds like a negative but it isn't. The washrooms are decent. No cost for showers though they were very hot with no temperature control and are close to burning temperature. The lake is not too bad. If you enjoy swimming or scuba diving then this is not a bad place to go. You can also do fishing. There are many options for where you can setup your tents.
Nice lake for family & friends
I was here for scuba training (seems like a bunch of Toronto dive shops frequent here), nice spot for that but seems the people in the RV park don't take kindly to others being there. Decent lake but it does cost per car and per person to get in.
I scuba dive here. A great place to practice your skills. Great for beginners because the water is shallow.
My family and I had a great time
We love the lake but the water is infested! We were at the Gulliver's lake yesterday, enjoying 4 hours of swimming and sunbathing. As we were leaving my husband started itching and large red dots appeared on his torso and hands. He mentioned that as he was swimming (4x the length of the lake) he observed lots of geese droppings.Today he has more dots on his chest, underarms and legs. The doctor prescribed him some cortisone cream.
We have been using this lake for years and enjoyed it. Yesrerday we went again for the first time since last July. Unfortunately the reviews are right and the lake is infested. Adults felt nothing but both kids are itching badly and have mosquito like red dots all over their bodies!!! Two more kids on the beach had the same! Management- you have to notify the visitors at the gate, if you want to keep any clients!!!
Scuba diving is always good at Gulliver's. Today the visibility was around 20 feet.
Nice and clean water
Booked a tour of the park yesterday with my mom who is visually impaired. We had a specific trailer we were interested in. Cassandra drove us around the park in a golf cart as she pointed things out along the way. She was socially unaware and oblivious to the fact that my mom could not see all the things she was pointing out as she drove. After we viewed the trailer, she continued on her sales pitch and kept trying to take us to see trailers out of our budget even though we were pretty clear why we were there. Felt like she was reading a script. The kicker for me at the end was when I mentioned to my mom that I think the walk from the trailers to the water would be too much considering she is visually impaired - and Cassandra said oh don’t worry about it she can just drive her golf cart. Like Cassandra we told you multiple times she is blind. You really dropped the ball. Overall park looks like a great place to spend the summer.
Great lake for swim training, no boats and can be very peaceful in the morning. The staff are amazing. Highly recommend whether you are training for a triathlon or just want a quiet no boats lake
Not following covid-19 protocol the lady that greets you at the front when you first get there can learn how to treat people a little nicer I don't know if she just had a bad day or what but on the other hand it is a beautiful place just with some bad employees I hope if I choose to go there again that it would be nicer
Gulliver's Lake offers nothing but picnic tables and change/bathrooms. There are a few swim rafts but no lifeguards.
Swimmers ich was bad this year,no word of it from the office they just want the money.Head office should look into how the ladeys run the place, loudspeakers and rude
All was good
Under new management !
Home away from home
Be aware of swimmer's itch.
Mine ours- We have taken steps to hopefully prevent this in the future- After July we had no issues with this - some people are more apt to develop this rash than others due to the sensitivity of their skin-
My friend and I went there on Wednesday and the park was absolutely disgusting compared to a few years ago..The geese poop was all over the place..we could barely find a place to sit where it was clean...The people at the gate was rude also and never notified us about swimmer's itch..won't ...be going there anymore..unhappy visitors....
I grew up coming to gullivers and in the past year or so it has truly gone down hill. The grounds have not been kept up as well as usual but even more so the staff are so very RUDE! The front gate staff are never smiling, I always see them yelling at guests and it doesn’t seem like they ever try to keep good relations with the patrons in the park. Very upsetting.
Awesomeness
Kids love going there
Awesome! Great service!!!
Pros: -45 min drive from square one - regulated during covid. Once at capacity they will not let more people in so it doesn't get over crowded. - washrooms, change rooms, showers, food cart - warm water - lots of trees to keep shade - picnic tables - lots of parking - it basically has everything you need to enjoy a day in the sun. Cons: - swimmer itch. I personally have not experienced it , but my nephew did break out in a rush - leeches. Haven't experience them in the main beach area. But once we went to the opposite side of the main beach area by the furthest top left dock. Walking in the water from there felt very mushy and muddy and when we came out we were covered in tiny tiny leeches that if you don't look close you won't see them even. But as long as you stay in the main beach area its fine. Room for improvement: - please install hooks in the washrooms and put garbage cans in the washroom or just outside of them. - please clean the park every day or evening of the bird poo. Way too much bird poo everywhere . - please offer fries in the food truck. Over all I am happy with this park and recommend it.
Poor management. The woman at the parking lot/gate was very unwelcoming. No smiles or good mornings here. I was trying to go diving and was made to feel like I was a criminal going through TSA.
Well organized place, clean and cozy
Excellent camp grounds, clean friendly staff
Scuba diving was fun
A lot of Redneck people.... noisy
Be careful as there are deck mites. Don't lay on the deck.
Good place to spend afternoon by the pond and trailer park too
We have a trailer here first yea r and at first loved the place however the management made our experience horrible. The manager lady with blonde hair made my family and friends feel horrible. She yelled at my one friend who cane to visit my trailer for my birthday. All of my guests have paif gor their entrance and we pay for our seasonal spot and dont deserve to be treated this way. I hope the owner eill finally take action and not allow her management and stagf to be tude like this.
SWIMMERS ITCH. 3 young children in tears since noon today from the itching. No one slept from all the itching and crying. STAFF IS LYING AND HIDING IT, BUT NOT INFORMING ANYONE EVEN WHEN ASKED. I asked what could be causing my kids to cry from the itch and she kept brushing it off as sand fleas (which is also a problem there)Since i have to stay up all night comforting my crying kids, im using this time to warn others- MONEY HUNGRY AND HEARTLESS. after 18 years, i will never return.
Wonderful day
Lady at the gate could have cared less. Had to get out of the van full of kids and a screaming baby and find her to pay and open the gate and she acted like i was a bother. For the price of this price and the crappy customer serivce think we will be going else were to swim.
I loved going to Gulliver's! It is so beautiful. However, the day after my fiancé and I went swimming there we were covered in bug bites and swollen. We went to the walk in clinic and they said we were covered in water bug bites. I have images of the bites we received. We have hundreds all over our body.
They overcharge cyclists/triathletes arriving by bicycle who are not tri club members. Ridiculous and unfair. A far cry from the days when the Gulliver family owned and ran the place. They respected longtime customers. This management group does not
Great place for a day trip with the kids
Management ruined the experience. Be weary of placing your trailer there.
This place is small and overcrowded with no sandy beach (not an owner's fault) and extremely filthy washrooms (something the owner can fix). The main clientele is russian speaking people who either do not care or do not know any better, I guess. There's not much to do other than swimming, but the water is clean and when it is not too crowded, the place is enjoyable. Valens Conservation Area is 10 mins away and, for less money, offers longer sandy beach plus canoeing and hiking opportunities.
Been going here for 24yrs..new owners still a great place to swim
I’ve been going to this lake for the past 4 weekends and although I like the lake and enjoy watching the scuba shops teach (I find it fascinating!), the management and staff here and INCREDIBLY rude. I think they have forgotten that people PAY to come here. The people who pay to enjoy this lake; they pay the staff/owners wages. There is one lady in particular who is so rude to everyone it’s unbelievable that no one has gone off on her or that she hasn’t lost her job. I have a suspicion she’s one of the owners which makes her behaviour that much worse. For all those visiting she’s an older lady with short-ish blonde/grey hair and glasses. Today she was extremely rude to my wife and we left very displeased. My wife and I come here to get away from the city and we have to deal with managment and staff that are more rude than people downtown Toronto. The last two times we have been, we have had the staff yell at us for no reason as we are slowly pulling in the drive way, speak to us like we are toddlers and be extremely rude to the dive shops and their students. I don’t recommend coming here just based on the fact that their customer service, nay, human decently is nowhere to be found. I highly suggest that whomever owns the place hire new staff. Grumpy old ladies being nasty to paying customers is honestly outrageous.
Your time will never be dull at the trusty ol' gull!
Love this place
Staff members are wonderful.
I had a great visit, wonderful place to go, so beautiful
T Dave VanClief - What you have posted is so untrue I heard everything and you were trying to get in with out paying and was mad because she said you had to pay the same as everyone else . I was there and heard it all
The staff here are very rude. I came to the park several times over the summer and I was always so disappointed in the way the staff spoke to and treated guests. The woman at the front gate was exceptionally rude! Its not worth the hassle to visit. I won’t be back.
Great property, the friendliest staff
We have a trailer there and the park is absolutely beautiful.
To many people saying rude staff for us to enen consider going here.
Nice place for camping or day use
I find it funny people still go here. Use to be great until the new ownership. No customer service, jacked pricing, poorer conditions. I have known for 3 years not to go here anymore. Quit wasting your time and money.
Love the place great people
Beautiful place to swim and have family picnics !!
What is going on!!! Red spots on body and itching !! Do not swim here
We went on Sunday, July 5, 2020. Lady at front was very friendly, but unfortunately my wife got the parasite and has over 100 boils on her body and has extreme itch/scratch syndrome. Have bought hydrocortisone cream and Benadryl to help alleviate, but she can’t go anywhere. We are on day 2 and not getting better. When we arrived my teenage son picked up all the geese poo around our picnic table as you couldn’t walk without stepping in it. We shouldn’t have to pay $40 to pick up poo. This is our last time going. We have gone previous years and have had a bit of rash, but nothing like this. My boys have it too this year. They should get rid of the geese as they are carriers of this parasite. Someone from the city should check it out as this is being negligent of the owner to allow this. I would post pictures of my wife’s boils and it would for sure make people think twice before going in the water.
I always loved going to Gulliver's. However, I was very disappointed that the swimmers itch wasn't caught sooner. I went last week with my family and we were all covered in bites from head to toe. Something like that should have be tested and maintained before allowing people to swim in the water.
Great place to camp.
