Prepaid for a rental 2 months in advance, only to be told on arrival day that there are no cars. Guy at the counter offered no help and no refund. Seems Avis is eager to take my money but not so eager to deliver what they promised. Even worse, they didn't communicate so I could make alternate plans. I thought a car reservation was supposed to reserve a car? Thanks for stranding us, avis. Never again!

Staff members are quite helpful. Cars are pretty good and affordable they operate in tough weather too so if they are open they can be relied upon completely.

So I rented a Tiguan a week before, I confirmed my booking same day morning and then when I reached there to pick up they say your vehicle is NO MORE AVAILABLE.. like are you serious? I wish google had 0 or negative ratings..!

In my vast experience renting cars, this was the worst I have been treated. I got the Volkswagen Golf and filled the tank the night before returning the car. I preferred to return the car at night but I forgot to ask about returning after hours. In the morning the gas tank had gone down by itself and by the time I returned the car the next morning (I live only 2 km away), somehow the gas tank went down ⅛, and Avis called saying "you forgot to fill up the car". This is horrible customer service, to call up your client and accuse them of something they didn't do. It is not my fault Volkswagen has such horrible service, and doesn't even have an accurate gas tank. avis simply charged me 12$ more without even giving me an explanation.

Staff members are quite nice but this car renting experience was still a disaster. I ordered a Full Size Sedan like Dodge Charger, but they gave me a Toyota Corolla which is totally UNACCEPTABLE (on their website, they said that they can even upgrade my car for free), and I had not receive any cautions that I could get a smaller vehicle due to availability issue before the reservation. I would cancel that order if I was not urgent to use a vehicle (and I don't think their policy allows me to cancel that reservation at that moment).

Dropped off after hours and charged a full extra day rental. I guess thats their policy - however I was not made aware of this at the time of rental even after I told them I'll have the car back in the evening of the following day and this was all fine! Miscommunication on the side of AVIS. I payed an extra $106!! Wish I would have kept the car then because I needed one the next day. They won't own their mistake.

I booked a car twice over here and both times my car was not ready to pickup. I had to wait 3 hours to get the car which is not at all fair or they should infrom ahead of time about this. Very bad experience not booking it again.

Picked up a car on Sunday for a car that was reserved Friday and gas tank was half full and even though car was washed front of car was still covered in bugs. Also driver side washer nozzle was plugged. Only passenger side worked. Called about half empty tank and they did make a note that I would only need to return it half full. I been using this Avis since 2015 and it seems to have gone downhill post 2018.

Ordered online thru Costco travel, great deal excellent 2016 Jetta, was perfect, no issues, good customer service, especially upon returning, was 5 mins past closing and he was still there w no angry words or extra charges! Would do business again!

Booked an intermediate SUV for a long weekend through Costco travel. We usually use a different vendor but AVIS was noticeably (maybe suspiciously?) less money. Check my credit card statement a month later and find we were billed $150 extra. This should NOT have happened - gas was full car was clean etc. Costco travel says that AVIS tried to bill us for an upgrade we didn't request? Had to start an inquiry to get our money back. Not impressed. Never rent AVIS again!
