(Covid-19 Year Review) The Sherwood Park location has a nice safe set up and it's very well-paced if you get there in the morning or noon, M-F. At rush hour between 1600-1800, it does get a lot busier. The layout is a circle and you would like to stop at the reception for covid questions before proceeding counterclockwise (follow markers to the line up).

Awesome service! I just purchased a vehicle and I was from B.C. and had to get a transit slip and insurance. Though they close at 5PM the two ladies helping stayed until 5:30PM to help me out. I'm extremely grateful and would recommend anyone I know in the Red Deer area to go to.
I haven't experienced customer service this bad in a long time. Sherry in Registries is as friendly as a rock. She rudely summoned me to the counter and informed me that she'd be unable to print off a receipt with the information I requested. After a testy exchange, she realized that she could, in fact, do so. Staff are incompetent -- go somewhere else like Vital Registry Services.

Some of the people working here do everything they can to help you out. Some of the ladies here would much rather be out working on their tans or literally anywhere else, but they'll permit you to inconvenience them long enough to do the bare minimum of what you need.
It is my own fault, I blindly trusted AMA when getting insurance. I just finished talking to Royal Bank Insurance and they lowered my insurance by 35% on two vehicles.174 instead of 267.18. So over 2 years AMA over charged me $2232 intentionally. ... RBC offered me the same plan within minutes of talking to them. Look around before choosing, and AMA will no be the choice you go for.

Ama the store in Red Deer is great the covid reps. Working the door with brilliancy i was wrangled towards registrys My agent was 100 percent helpful and efficiently processed my renewal. Thank You. Now the recording on the 1800 is less than appealing i cant imagine some of the confusion that its causing.
It's a decent AMA! The staff all seem very nice and professional and the one lady that helped me was great! She was able to help me and do it all in a timely manner! I did have to wait for 15 minutes in line because it was so busy. This AMA is smaller than a lot of the other ones I've been to as well but does have a lot of free parking spaces available which is nice!

I wish I could give 0 stars!!!! I have had a clean driving record for 20 years. After moving to nicer neighbourhood, changing job titles, being is a rock slide and having an at fault claim AMA decided to more that TRIPLE the cost of my insurance!! I am trying to switch to another company but AMA will not allow me to cancel my insurance. They dance around the questions and refuse to send me a letter stating that my claim is closed so that I can use another Insurance agency. Thus forcing me to renew with them because oddly enough I CANNOT go without insurance with my job. I cancelled my insurance a week ago and today they STILL took their outrageous fee's out of my account and said that in a week that will request to put it back but are still refusing to send me a letter stating that my claim is closed so that I can use another Insurance Agency. Amanda keeps saying that they can cancel my insurance but will not give me the letter that I need to get insurance elsewhere. So I can cancel, but can't use another agency because they are purposely preventing it?? They wont give me my money back until later.. and they wont give me a letter to change agencies ... and repeat on and on in circles!!!
COVID safety precautions are in place and enforced by a cheerful and helpful team. If you are high risk, I highly recommend using AMA for your registration renewals and insurance.
Absolute nightmare booking an appointment online. If appointments have to be booked strictly online, then hire a competent IT person. The process, as it is now, is deplorable! Fix this!

The front desk staff had no clue about the services offered by AMA to begin with. She turns me away, directing me to go to another Registry and I showed her their OWN website declaring that they do offer the service I am looking for, then I hear a lame ' oh I didn't know, you can go line up if you want', waiting in the line up to be greeted by another staff saying ' oh there is a special agent for this service' shows me another staff member, then it took only 10 minutes. I tried to give my feedback about educating staff about their own services but nobody wanted to listen, so here goes my feedback!

The service is courteous and staff are friendly and helpful with basic needs (licensing, etc). I traveled about an hour to the AMA office for a meeting to get insurance on my home. I was denied home insurance with AMA because of my type of work. What the heck does my chosen career have to do with putting insurance on a house? It's ridiculous. Then again, I wouldn't have accepted it anyway, since it was $1,500 more than the Cooperators. Certainly, though, you should post a huge notice on your website that you discriminate availability of services depending on your client's job. It would have saved me 3 hours I could have better spent doing something productive.

Been with ama for a long time but first time dealing with a non fault claim and they don't want to stand up for me and want me to do all the foot work. Will be pulling my vehicles from their poor service and taking them elsewhere as they do not deserve another cent. What's the point of having insurance if you get hit by someone else and your the one that has to do all the work. Very disappointed with how I was treated. Very unprofessional. Just goes to show that not all customers are treated fair and we are just disposable.
Excellent service
Just recently took my advanced driving test here. The process from the check-in to the road test and license upgrade/renewal was very smooth sailing. The driver examiner was very clear with her instructions and answered all my questions prior to the test, and was kind enough to acknowledge my nervousness and made me feel comfortable for the duration of the test. She was very compassionate and fair. Instructions were provided clearly during the test and same with the overall assessment. I did passed the road test and had to do a license change and renewal. The lady that assisted me was very helpful and has an excellent customer service. Big thanks to the whole AMA-St. Albert team ????

Had to deal with the most racist customer rep ever. Treated me like a criminal. I had to call over the Manager because she would just not answer a simple question. Why is auto renewal so hard? Isn’t it supposed to make our life easier??? The Manager of the Branch called me today, Briann, and assured me this is a one off and definitely not acceptable at AMA. We all express bias in every profession that deals with people. In a Country like Canada, one must realize that we are all DIFFERENT and that’s OKAY. We all have to respect each other. I’ve been with AMA for over 8 years now and have always received excellent service. However the service I received from the receptionist wasn’t so great as she told me that they weren’t offering a driving license service that I walked in for...which is not true. The staff member that actually helped was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and walked me through the entire service. Edit...AMA staff got back to me after posting the review and as result, my previous 3 star rating wasn’t fair in my opinion so I’m issuing 5 stars. Thanks for the great service AMA!

This is my very last choice for AMA or to go too. St. Albert, Alberta is my last choice to go too. I been here before. But the last time, I was helped by a older female lady that was not knowledgeable in her work. She didn't give me good avice. Instead, the white older female lady gave me the wrong advice I end up paying more for the AMA Cineplex Gift Card when I originally came in for Cineplex Ticket to saved money too. I drove over 45 minutes and wanted to buy and save money on Cineplex Odeon Movie Passes and end up not saving money because the older white female lady told me to buy Cineplex Odeon Gift card. I couldn't get the refund back on the gift card. The older white didn't tell me ahead of time the Cineplex Card was non-refundable. I got scammed and lost money. I was not told to do the right thing and bought the wrong items too.
AMA and all the other insurance companies. Legal rip off. I have bean a professional driver (class1) for close then 20 years with a near perfect driving record. When I first move to Alberta, my insurance was around $1400 a year. Move to BC for 2 years and recently came back. Now because of a 3 tickets, they wanna charge me over $3300. Who the hell got this kinda money. MONEY GRABE. THATS ALL IT IS.
I like their service, it was so quick, I went there and I had issue regarding my license and all so chelsey works there she helps me very nicely and she helped me very well and she solved my issue, I went couple of time registry on wyeroad and really they are useless,
not even a star. I try to call about information around 1:10 pm I keep getting the old connection sound no one answers. you guys are open a lot longer than 1. appreciated. Specially when I need information on something crucial

Myself and many of my friends and family have been happy AMA members for years, but in the last year they have changed too many of their policies for far lesser service and removed many of the conveniences of the memership (even the RV Plus). You're better off saving the price of the membership for a tow if/when you need it because they will only tow your vehicle to a shop, no longer your own residence even if you work on your own vehicles. If you drive a newer vehicle under warranty built to regularly fail then AMA is great for towing it to the stealership 5 times a year. But if you are an able-bodied person with enough brain cells to turn a wrench on your own vehicles, AMA is no longer for you. Just another step closer to 2030.

I went here to renew my AMA membership and also register my new vehicle, I came in with a copy of the bill of sale but it needed to be the original which I did not have. I asked a few questions about what I needed EXACTLY so I did not come back and have to leave again and the girl at the desk was very rude and dismissive. She was also making fun of a boy to her co workers who was trying to do a test there which I found particularly gross. I decided not to come back and get my registration elsewhere and not renew my membership.

The phone number provided on google maps is a nightmare. I listened to a robot for 10 minutes list off all the possible departments you can talk to as well as tips for booking an appointment.

Despite being a customer that pays AMA nearly 4k annually for home and auto insurance, I was rudely informed they would not serve me since I wasn’t a member. I would have gladly renewed but the woman was so putrid and vile to us that I chose to leave. I will be finding a new insurance company.

Not transgender friendly business. We decided to get a membership and try here as we heard it was quiet for learners liscence test. This was true. Our issue was they refused to issue my son his learners permit. They are not a transgender friendly business. We had all the paperwork to have gender x placed on the learners permit. They refused as that did not match the birth certificate. We went to A-1 and they issued it. We had all paperwork signed as per the Alberta government. Then we used the winter tire service in our home. The person had no tools to tighten properly and was not trained. So dissatisfied.n

Friendly people, fair examiners willing to spend time answering your quests. (Took my advanced drivers, passed my test.) Did not rush the test or act pushy. I should have come here first, big regret. Telling ya go here first! Ask question before the test, come with some because after you read school/playground zones no signs or on ramps you should. Good luck.
Came and waited in line for over 20 minutes ... only to be turned away for not having something with my name on it for renewing my license? I even brought my passport and my old license, and still yet this wasn’t enough. All I get in the end is a “sorry.” Sorry is useless and will not get back my time wasted for nothing. Go elsewhere for renewing you license as this service was pointless.
AMA costs a bit but on a dark and stormy night it's nice to know help is on its way. My daughter went in for her driver's and we were greeted at the door by a pleasant young lady who guided daughter to the right place and found me a cuppa while dad waited nervous. Great service, nice store.

their road side assistance program is very affordable and worth it, but I went in for an truck insurance qoute and they wanted way more than prairie villa insurance,like way more
There's a guy on this place. He told me what to do on the road and not what to do. He give me courage from driving on the highway even doe I'm scared at driving on the highway. Thanks to him I can go camping by myself.
The most unprofessional and rude service I have ever had. I waited 45 minutes, saw an employee leave a half hour early(5:30), only be told by reception to come back another time, because the one remaining employee was on the phone and wouldn't be able to help before they closed at 6. I was only there to pay for the destination wedding my friend stupidly booked through AMA, the whole process would have taken 5 minutes. Go elsewhere and save yourself the headache.
We used this office to have passport photos taken. Sent them in to have them be rejected due to a shadow!!! AMA wouldnt refund us, and we had to go elsewhere to pay again. If they are going to offer the service, atleast ensure the photos will be acceptable at the passport office!
Met the receptionist as soon as I walked in. She took all my information and told me to have a seat. A few minutes later another lady called my name. We completed everything in less than 5 minutes. Great service.

I was given the pleasure of driving lessons from Nawaz at this location. My experience was well above par i felt he truly cared about me and how i was feeling during the 10 hours of lessons . And i cant even begin to explain how much I learned from him and the ama online together. Thank you so much Nawaz i wish the very best for you and your family. If your looking for lessons this is the location to learn or send your kids to learn to drive safely and efficiently.
Generally good experience most times I visit. Covid didnt slow down in person business, but there was a overly strict mask policy.
As most placed we have used for a Alberta registry that staff were not friendly and short with us. They got the job done though
No complaints with the desk workers, they were very nice. I took my advanced road test here. The woman was calm, until the end of the test. I asked her which sections she marked me down for, and she began to raise her voice with me. I'm not sure why, because I only wanted to know what happened, and what I could improve on. I never raised my voice at her, or was rude. AMA St. Albert-- I wasn't impressed with this instructor's attitude.
Horrible! Cancelled my membership. 12 hours to tow a car off the hiway and because they didn’t pick it up on time it was broken into and vandalized but the big guy Rory Anderson from AMA head office says they don’t care about it and he didn’t want to get anyone above him cause he thinks he owns AMA

I called to book flights to Iceland two days no call back. Did it on line with AMA received excellent costumer service, when i made a mistake. Five stars for inline.
Disappointed. Registered me as an AMA member and enrolled in the driving lesson to freshen up as I only move to Canada this year. There’s no message on the website or email to mention that the in-car lessons need to wait until October which is 4 months later! They would only inform this until I paid thousand dollars for it. Requested a refund because I can’t wait for another 4.5 months for the in-car training and the AMA customer service officer said they have to deduct $52 for the administrative fee. That’s unreasonable as well. I’m very disappointed

I have been with AMA for almost 20 years and in the last four I have seen my house insurance raise to double what I signed on for (received the letter yesterday stating the increase). I have been disappointed by the actual level of service this company doesn't provide. A few years ago I went in and tried to put sitting insurance on a truck that didn't hit the road for almost 2 years before selling it and I was told that they didn't believe me, that it would be sitting even thought I was and still am driving a company pickup truck. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! I will be cancelling my house coverage with them this month.

I have a membership with ama. I called them 2 weeks ago because I spun off Hwy 1. They sent a tow truck from a company called Logans Towing. He caused over 5000 dollars damage to my vehicle, he said that he would pay me back however he isnt paying me back.

The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. Sherry, the staffer that assisted me was great and filled me in on all of the benefits of AMA membership. I will definitely stay with them in the future. They were also following all covid rules and very helpful in that aspect also.
Cheapest content insurer in GP so far. Auto insurance sky high now. Sonnet way cheaper and no yearly dues. The yearly dues don't equate to much at alberta motor assoc.
I have used this location for years. I have always found them to be professional and polite. I went to ask a question about my insurance. I left saving even more. My agent looked for every discount she could find for me. Yes at times there is a line up, I equate that to the nature of the business, most registries have line ups at times.
Never had another company quote me less for insurance of any kind, been with them for almost 13 years now. I appreciate that I can make changes to my policies without an appointment and without a long wait. I suspect they do not deserve all of the 1-star reviews they have garnered, which seem to be mainly people mad at things outside of AMAs control. Also the foreign currency ATM is super neat.
1. Very high prices for insurance of property or auto, like at least twice higher than compatible at intact, one stop, etc. 2. I had very bad experience with ama service, I am ama member, so I needed a roadside assistance, I received it but I payed it on my own at that time, and when I asked to refund me the cost, they refused, and then passed time and they said they would like to help and do what they supposed to do in the first place - but they just can't... Treat me very bad, not recommend to anyone if you don't like to be treated like garbage in stressful situation..
It's so nice to go to a registry that doesn't treat you like a burden. I always have a pleasant experience with the staff when I come here. FYI if you need a notary for your paper work, the "regular" staff can do that. You can also sign up to have your licence plate automatically renewed through your membership.
AMA recently doubled my the cost of my insurance by adding several fees. I'll be switching to a new insurance company immediately. I was quoted between 4500-5000 yearly for my plan at other insurance companies, and $8400 yearly from AMA. Do not get AMA insurance unless you like paying hundreds or thousands more than you have to.
The Medicine Hat AMA is great. Helpful staff, tidy shop. Sadly, this business (like many others) reminds me of the Kyiv, Ukraine registry office of 20 years ago. There were two bored cops, one clerk and 150 waiting. I offered a $50 US bribe you expedite and was told "We're too busy to take bribes today". Covid-19 has really slowed everything down. Not blaming AMA; they're terrific.

Nicolle O'Connor was *Fantastic* to deal with. An absolutely delightful person! She was able to add on another vehicle to my policy and gave me tips and suggestions to help reduce the premium. Honestly, it was like I was talking to an old friend - that's how easy and friendly she was to talk to. She also stayed after the branch was closed to finish up all the details (super appreciative). Probably one of the best customer support experiences I've ever had.

I had a really good experience here today. Hubby and I had to change addresses on vehicle registration, driver's licenses, AMA membership, and health care cards as well as renew the vehicle registration. The agent was very efficient and was able to renew my driver's license early wasn't due until next year) as well as update my donor information and get hubby on the donor list. In and out with all that in under a half hour.

I find the extra talking about the things necessary to be repeated after you have made a decision to select a menu is silly and time wasting. That said in just about every interaction I have had with an actual representative we have had a courteous, pleasant, educational & often fun discussion eventually leading to where I have purchased all of my family's AMA cards. A great example is Jen the absolute sweetheart young lady who I talked with today at about 5.30 Friday 20th in Edmonton . I have found the assistance & peace of mind AMA provides in times of an emergency to be life welcoming especially in winter or harsh driving conditions. The discounts and insurance policies are well with reason for their coverage. Plus the fact you can add to the coverage at anytime if you are pulling a trailer or RV. Just do not try to deceive them. I think to drive in Alberta and NOT be covered is a dumb move!
The least helpful AMA I’ve ever been to. I had my license stolen right before I had to drive home to Calgary and the woman I spoke to at this location wouldn’t even try to help me solve the problem. I didn’t have my passport or birth certificate on hand and she refused to attempt to verify my identity using any other methods. The only suggestion I was given was to file a police report and wait, which I couldn’t do because I needed to drive home. I would recommend going literally anywhere else in Grande Prairie for your registry services.

If I could give a Zero to AMA ROADSIDE assistance ...I would! I have been an CAA member since the 80s. I HAD THE PREMIUM RV SERVICE SPECIFICALLY FOR MY TRIPS. I had my car stolen while visiting my son in another city. AMA just blew me off after trying to get answers for days. They said I was not qualified because of their "fine print" ....OMG! any little excuse not to help. They are pathetic ripoff artists like all insurance! DO NOT BUY ALBERTA AMA!
I went in with the intention of getting a membership and help to switch my vehicle and liscence from out of province. The woman was rude and short with me sending me away with a confusing list of tasks that none of the other insurance companies required of me. She also failed to mention I would need a form that I could have picked up while I was there despite my having asked her to reiterate the steps I needed to follow.

I have never been to this office before but my husband said the customer service was excellent when he renewed his driver's license recently. I went in after work today and the service was exceptional. So kind and helpful and caring and it was sincere. No fake smiles. Also they were very diligent about sanitizing continuously and I really watch for that.

I haven't even made it to the store yet, and I'm already finished with these guys. 2 minutes listening to repeated messages... push 1 to talk to... press 2 to... and more same messages until I reach some guy who does not work at that agency, but answers the phone for all the agencies. He says I SHOULD be able to just go in and get what I need, but didn't actually ask what I wanted which was to speak DIRECTLY to an agent about a specific issue. Then I get transferred to the store phone and am on hold there until I'm told to leave a msg in the general mailbox. Total time spent on the phone for NOTHING? 10 minutes.
My first time at AMA Red Deer! So I’ve been a member with AMA for just under a year, (newbie here in Alberta ????), and I’ve used their service once, to boost my car’s battery ( and eventually had it replaced with a CAA-certified one. And I’ve always been happy with their service, their call centre agents are nice, very professional and courteous. The road assistance guys are awesome too, gave me tips on my car’s battery (shout-out to Rob!!!) And so, December twenty nine , I received an email from them about various discounts on their travel centre office in Red Deer City. And from Samsonite luggages to fanny packs and colored masks, I saw that they’re offeing a discounted battery charger! Exactly just what I need when the super cold Alberta winter settles in this 2021. I went to their outlet to get one. When I got there, first thing I noticed are the numerous Covid19 precautionary signs and notices places all over their centre’s facade. I liked it! It means they are really concerned about the safety and well-being of theorvstaff and clients. When I got in, I was greeted warmly by a kind and smiling lady, who guided me where to proceed. I noticed as well that a lot of areas are cordoned so passengers will be limited to just a certain area to do their transactions. And I waited in line, which wasn’t very long. The counters were amply staffed. I proceeded to the next open counter and was greeted by Ms. Cathy, a kindly and lovable lady who finished my transactions in very nice manner, sanitizing first the desk, mask worn and greeted/wished me a good day. I am extremely happy and satisfied with the service provided here, and will be constantly renewing my membership with AMA. Great job you’re doing guys!

Giving a negative review should be an option!! After 6 years of being a loyal customer to this Insurance company, and for the past 3 years paying an exorbitant amount, always on-time .. they suddenly said that they would no longer provide comprehensive coverage for me because SOMEONE HIT ME. So even though AMA did not have to pay a cent for this most recent claim, and I was not even driving, they state that I have too many claims regardless of who is at fault. One claim being in a rock slide (not at fault) another being hit by a truck passing on the highway (not at fault). Obviously this would not work as my vehicle is financed still. I frantically found a new insurance provider and cancelled with AMA they stated I was owed a refund, at the same time they took out another payment. AMA owes me $600 and will not cut a check they sait will come... when it comes, it is a "process" meanwhile if any of us were to not make our payment it is punishable by death!!The only perk has been that I was forced to find another insurance provider and guess what.. I SAVED money by doing so... with a company who I have no rapport. AMA could care less about you as a person, as a valued customer or anything else. PICK any other insurance company and you will be doing yourself a favour.

Used their vehicle registry services countless times and recently used their Travel Advisory services to create a vacation on a budget, very happy with results. No issues and I always left with what I needed.
AMA Sherwood Park requires more staffing. Usually only 2-3 staff on at a time. Today, Saturday afternoon only 2 staff on, we waited 80 minutes in line and there were only 7 people ahead of us when we got there.

Got a membership in June, never used CAA or AMA before but found the service at grande prairie to very helpful. Fast forward 4 months and home insurance is coming up. Called and over the phone got customer service like you used too. Helpful polite, Ana very painless experience. Best of all took less then 15 minute

I used AMA to book a vacation after my partner passed away. The travel agent picked my Mexico location based on her experience and swore it was amazing AND would be ideal for my situation. Well, my vacation was a nightmare. I cried the 1st whole day. The hotel was a disaster and a half. Everything I was told I was getting, I did not get (including the room view). I also found out I paid double the price for a 3 star when I could have went 5, for wayyyyyy less with tons of amenities and views. The resort I was at was terrible and absolutely NOT ideal for a young,widowed female. My agent didn't even check in afterwards as promised. She also gave me the wrong package info 2 days before my departure as well (wrong name) that I luckily noticed. I will NEVER book a vacation with AMA travel ever again. Such a dissapointment. .

I have been using them for 3 years and I have had nothing but great customer support from them. I speak with a stutter which takes long to say the most mundane thing; and yet they are very patient and friendly. I haven't had to claim an accident yet but until now i have nothing but good things to say about them.
Very very dissatisfied... booked a family vacation to Disneyland for 14 days using all AMA services including cancellation ins. And health insurance just to find out 2 days before flying out they drop our health insurance cause of the wild fires in California and canada had posted NO UNNECESSARY TRAVEL we phoned to our hotel in California and they said thr fires are far away and they are either out or under control but still AMA would not insure us.. it was a friday and we were leaving on a sunday... we called RBC and the rep said they couldnt believe they dropped our insurance and RBC made sure we had insurance and it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper.. anyways was a good thing we called around and found them cause AMA was not helping us at all and we thought we were going on this trip with no life insurance.. was very stressful and am very disappointed with AMA... but RBC save us thk goodness for them.

My son was in an accident witch he was not in the wrong due to the other person crossing a solid line. These guys told him it was a 50/50. They also would use the statement of the only witness cause it happened to be his younger brother. Then they took his other car off his insurance as it's his I feel like driving it today car. He did not tell them too now want to charge him for their screw up???? Now Jack his insurance to over 6k a year cause of the accident that was clearly not his fault since the other person hit his drivers door???? What kinda of cookie cutter insurance company is this????? I would never recommend AMA to anyone except for road side assistance
What a disaster. My daughters car needed a tow. Called and was advised it would be 45 minutes. Called them back an hour and half later and was advised they lost our ticket number and we would have to start process again. From there was advised that I would be in contact with someone immediately. Well 45 minutes later and nothing. Going to be honest it’s the first time we’ve ever used it. Seems like a waste. Rather save our money and the odd time I would need a tow call an independent contractor. Also the day was warm ,no snow or freezing temperatures.
Alberta train your employees better. Make it so registries and insurance will have at least the slightest clue about each other so that people don’t have to spend whole days inside trying to make something road legal. This whole “i don’t know how registries works/that’s something you have to ask insurance” line is very frustrating when your having to go back and forth through both companies. It takes all day, every time...

Called for Tow truck. First time in 5 years. Never called me back, put in 2 requests for them to call me back (est. 30min. wait). No call backs. Cain they left a message- nope, obviously dialled a wrong number and did not notice. Finally gave up and spent 2 hours digging myself out. When I called as a courtesy to cancel my request i get " I understand your frustration". Funny. Not renewing, don't see the benefit. Service a registries is ignorant and rude. Go to any other registry they have better staff
We went in to get a house insurance quote on a Saturday afternoon we were the only ones waiting to see an agent and were told it would only be a few minutes, we waited a bit longer and were once again told it wouldn't be long after waiting for 45 minutes we ended up leaving and its doubtful we will ever go back as well as this when my membership is due I don't think I will be renewing it, horrible customer service!

The receptionist was very quick to direct us to where we needed to go for a marriage license application. The lady helping us quickly explained how to fill out the form and how to go about changing your name if needed for newly married couples. All in all, it was a quick trip with nice people :)

Even though I've brought everything I had in regards to information and they seemed to have a problem with every little detail. Fair enough, I understand that these have to be exact and precise in the eyes of the government, but.....This time(3rd) something else wasn't good enough even though the same papers and documents have been shown each time I've been in there!! Do not get battery replaced from AMA, i replaced my battery 2 year ago and it died now, i called for warranty, they asked $75 to come and check battery because i am not AMA member, so i asked if i can take my battery somewhere to check it out if its dead, they said i can go to lube city for warranty but if i remove battery from my car warranty is void( it is not rocket science to remove battery from car, nothing you will damage on battery by removing it), so my car is not starting up because of battery so how i am gonna take to lube city ?, so answer was by towing it, or they send service guy so they can charge me $75, i think they wanted $75 anyhow, never seen warranty like this, i am gonna replace with Canadian tire now, they have far better warranty policy than AMA.

My husband and I have been loyal customers for over 20 years and the last few have been terrible! I wish I could blame the pandemic were going through for most of the problems going on, but can’t because the terrible customer service, the lack of knowledge most employees have regarding AMA’s policies and procedures and most frustrating the phone tag/push a multitude of numbers to speak to ANYONE and then get the deer in the headlight response of Uh!! Long pause “I don’t know or I’m not sure” The one girl in Drivers Ed I spoke to made me wonder how she gets out of bed and dresses herself everyday!? How and why are you so incompetent that you can’t answer simple questions IN YOUR DEPARTMENT! My daughter is dying for a job and AMA you should consider hiring her even though she young with no experience because she honestly couldn’t do any worse! Needless to say we will be going elsewhere and not renewing our membership. Oh and FYI your fees and price for everything is over the top! If you don’t want to be known as cash cows I suggest you do something about that along with your multitude of problems

We were looking to re register our vehicles. To our disbelief we are not welcome at AMA as we are not members. I would think as they are doing a service for the Province of Alberta they would accommodate Albertians trying to uphold the LAW. However we did learn where not to take our business.

The wait in line was a bit long , but what registry isn't. A lady named Liz helped me. She was so helpful. Took the time to make me feel welcome and answered all of my questions very politely. Your organization needs more people like Liz on your counter. I personally witnessed a member bully and berate one of the reps. The lady's who work there should not have to deal with bad behaviour just because the person is a member. AMA needs to start standing up for their employees and place a sign at the entrance to the building. "FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY, WE CANNOT TOLERATE INAPPROPRIATE OR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR, HARASSMENT, OR COARSE LANGUAGE. PEOPLE WHO ENGAGE IN THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE".

Great customer service! I was charged for 3 road test because the website errored out. I went in the next day and the supervisor took all my info and gave me her card and told me she would update me. She called me 4 times in total and kept me updated the whole way which was awesome and after about 2 weeks i got my money back.
Waited 5 hours and still haven’t changed the tire. They said they keep bumping us off, unless we want a tow truck then its faster!! Terrible service, its all about the money. Thought it would be good in case my kid got stranded and guess what i had to go pick her up anyways. I will not waist my money next time!!

After a very negative experience with the other registry in St. Albert wherein I felt I was intentionally failed by the examiner many times, I decided to go to AMA to take my road test. I was impressed by the quick service and very friendly and accommodating staff at AMA. I know that road tests can be a money grab; however, at AMA St. Albert, it is NOT the case. My examiner, Tyler, was very helpful, informative, funny, and with great people skills. He genuinely wanted the students to pass and he explained his expectations to me in great detail. During the road test, he also reminded me of the major points of safe driving; thus, the road test became a good learning experience as well. Tyler is also very skilled at putting the test-takers at ease. He is very fair so if you are a capable and safe driver, you would surely pass.

I've been with AMA for 15 years and almost cancelled/switched my car and home insurance policies because of the AWFUL customer service at this location, which is my home branch. I bought a new car on Sunday, and spent 2 ENTIRE days trying to get an insurance agent on the phone to no avail. Monday waited on hold for almost 2 hours before selecting the callback option.....call back never came. Tuesday morning I called again, waited on hold for 3 hours before hanging up and calling back. Explained to receptionist that I had been on hold over 5 hours without getting through over 2 days and that i urgently needed to speak to an agent directly (was on my way to pick up new car from the dealership). Receptionist was rude and unhelpful and just put me back on hold. Ended up having to visit another location in person to finally get looked after.....was in and out of the west end AMA location in 20 minutes. I will NEVER deal with this useless St. Albert location ever again........6 hours is NOT A REASONABLE amount of time to have to wait on hold to speak to an agent.....shame on you for non-existent customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would. If it wasn't for the excellent service at the west end location, I would have cut ties with AMA permanently.

I called yesterday around 1230pm and waited for help to boost the battery in my truck. I waited until evening and night and this morning. But no help until I got a missed call at 11:51am today. I called back and on hold for an hour and still on going... How long will I wait.... How long my patience can be measured....I'm a member since 2004 and with AMA plus membership.

Never again! Not this location. Staff need training to treat customers with friendliness and courtesy! Not like they were just another customer to collect money for service they cannot get anywhere else in the world! By golly! I thought as a member, I should support my organization. I come out of the way just to get here. The lady takes a picture of me for a driver renewal license and expects me to leave immediately. When I stated that I would like to look at the picture, she acted like I made an offensive request. Her manner was rude and totally unacceptable. This is not the first time I got treated this way at this location. In future I will go to the Registry on Wye. Their service is way better. They treat you with courtesy and respect. They will take two or more of your pictures and even allow you to choose which one you would like. Staff must be trained to understand that the customer pays their salary, and should do everything possible to show them respect, no matter how old they may look!
They don't follow there own hours of service also when you call to see why they are not open it's a run around with a automated person. Use others in town is my recommendation.
Everytime I drive to AMA I hope I get in a car crash so that I don't have to wait for 8 hours to see one of the 2 agents serving 15 people. Avoid if it all possible.

A special thanks to the Medicine Hat AMA for helping us out when we found out in Saskatchewan that our tags had expired and had to drive 2 hours back to Medicine Hat to find a registry. Even thought we had let our aMA membership lapse, they were gracious enough to help us out. We re-joined AMA within a few minutes of being back on the road.
Safe your time and do not go here. One of the staffs I met today does not even know how to do her job. I had to go to other registry to get my paperwork done after waited in line for more than half an hour because she did not know how to do it!!!! What a waste of time. Not worth the membership for this kind of service.

Got conflict info. The lady on phone said they can send me the digital file of passport photo so I went . However when I was there, another lady said they can't. The photo came out very bad and the lady wasn't will to re take it. Very frustrated.
A AMA tow truck towed my unit and $2000 damage, AMA will not help and of course tow truck will not either.

After standing in line for close to half hour, a lady from the front desk came to the lineup to ask if we have everything we need for prompt service, including an AMA membership.. at which time I stated I don’t have a membership and didn’t realize I needed one for car registry. I guess everyone in the world knows this because there was zero signage stating so. Please post better signage for dumb dumbs like me. And FYI, I sure wouldn’t pay to stand in line for that long!

We would give a negative review if we could. It's all a cash grab. My husband called to renew membership, $168.00 plus a $20 activation fee, then an additional $40 for first time use. Grand total $228.00!! We have in the past years been loyal AMA costumers and have actually never had to use them. They will never again get money from us. Will also advise any friends or family to stay away from AMA! He called a local and friendly tow truck company, grand total $78.54.

I’ve never had problems with AMA before today. This review does not reflect the quality service of the registration staff, who are always pleasant and very helpful, but of the front door greeter. Upon my arrival today the greeter asks me of my visit. He than proceeds to tell me I do not have all the required paperwork for the service I required. I politely let him know that I use this service a handful of times every single summer and that I have yet to have an issue with the information I have brought. He than rudely and arrogantly broadcasts across the entire store so all other members can hear continually that I am wrong, and many times repetitively let’s me know I’m wasting my time lining up but I’m more than welcome to do so. I than politely let him know I have the required paperwork a few more times as he continues to bash me in front of all other members alongside the employee of mine I had brought with me to the registries. After already feeling super disrespected and shocked with how I was being treated he than proceeds to yell across the room again that I am wrong, that he’s talked to the correct personal and yet again I’m incorrect. I proceed to ignore him and his absurd comments and glares. I make my way to the front and the very friendly girls whom I deal with regularly help me with the service and send me on my way. As he sees we are in fact correct he leaves and heads to the back until we leave the store. I had wanted to discuss with him that the way he had treated me was inappropriate and disrespectful but he stayed in the back until we had left. I honestly have never been so disrespected and attacked. As a customer regardless if I am right or wrong in no way should a situation like that be handled. It was super embarrassing to be talked to in that manor and have strangers stare and watch a scenario like that unfold. I’m truly beyond upset with my experience with this branch. My own employee could not believe what had happened and was shocked that a greeter could be so rude to a customer. I’ve been an AMA member for over 10 years and I still can’t believe how I was treated today.

I used the roadside assistance phone number today and found out after an hour that I had not been logged into the system so I had to repeat the entire process .. here's some suggestions specific to this incident AMA should: consistently ask if the vehicle is running and if there is a pet or child locked in the vehicle as this affects the customer's status on the service list provide the customer with a confirmation number to assure request has been logged into the system; furthermore this confirmation number can be used as a one-step process to access the status of their request

This was one of the worst unprofessional experiences I have ever had with a registry.....I was treated like a second rate citizen and the workers talked about me behind my back in front of other customers...my wife being one of them. After going to another registry they sorted everything out and explained to me that Ama overcharged me and caused me to get a hundred dollar medical that was unnecessary which i took time off work to get...they also downclassed my drivers from a class1 to a class 5...which is now reinstated thanks to another knowledgeable registry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE....after this i am cancelling all AMA memberships!....Does anyone see a common problem here.......Someone leaves a review and there is an apology.......NOTHING DONE TO FIX IT....for F#$%%^ sakes even are names are attached to the reviews...figure it out....If you want to make things right use you superpowers...obviously its the blind leading the blind!....by the way your MANAGER was the one involved.

My basement flooded like hundreds of others in the area and the sewerage came up . I contacted AMA my insurance company and they sent a contracted ajuster out to look. He dismissed the wet patch and left, A week later the smell was so bad I contacted an environmental office and they came out and said that there was water and raw sewerage under the sub basement floor. The whole basement had to be pulled out to the outer wall and the place disinfected . So if you have Insurance with AMA I strongly recommend you think twice about it and change to a more ethical one . AMA would NOT refused to hire a Renovation company someone to repair the damage, another fault of theirs. They just gave me the money and that way no accountability . I looked in Shepherds guide and hired Andy K to do the job. What a mess and it cost thousands to fix what he did. I had to have one foot in the shower to sit on the toilet, Dry wall to fill cracks on the basement floor,a pop can over a live wire in the wall . The Alberta government gave back flow valves for all those who were flooded. Andy did not put it in. One day he pleaded for the money and I gave it to him. I never saw him again , and it cost thousands to fix it all and I lost my home . Shepherds guide did nothing to fix it nor did AMA/CAA . The City sent out an inspector and he laughed at the mess, thought it was funny, Not for me. AMA simply washed their hands of the whole affair and I lost my home. They may promise this and that and be cheaper,but if you have a disaster like I did they did a very very very poor job and left me hanging for thousands of dollars. They failed me big time. Look out many will say Lord Lord and they are wolves in ships clothing. This man caused me the loss of my home and thousands of dollars in debt. I do not know if he is still in business,I hope not. He lived in Beaumont , Alberta . And keep away from AMA/CAA insurance is my advice
I have had a lot of faith in AMA for the past 14 years. Today the Red Deer office destroyed that faith. Don’t go in there expecting to get help. They charge a fee for everything, including their own screw ups and will not take ownership of it no matter how badly it screwed you over. They said it was a fee to add my mailing address because the last girl didn’t put it in. Ummm excuse me? Why the hell do I have to pay for that?! Not only that, but her negligence will now cost me another fee to have my license sent out. I was disgustingly angry when I walked out and am not happy about having to go back to deal with this as it went unresolved this go round.
It's sad to say that customer service in the Registry Department is non existent. Over the last couple of weeks I have had to make 2 separate trips in. I commented to my husband that nobody smiles or seems happy. Today was the epitome of cranky, she actually argued with me about an AMA email I received and when I showed it to her she commented "well aren't you special" rolled her head and her eyes at the employee sitting next to her who actually laughed. When my husband asked her what that was about she snorted at him. I asked what her name was and she pulled her sweater closed over her name tag and smiled. Her rudeness and contempt for job was amplified today, unfortunately this has become the norm at AMA Red Deer. It's to bad that management or a supervisor allows this rude behaviour to happen on a continuous basis.
Went to transfer plate from one vehicle to another. Current plate expiring in 9 days. Had another plate expiring in one year on a parked car. Tried to charge me $8 on top of the Alberta $28 transfer fee. Said I could come back after my registration expired to avoid the $8 fee. Also they mentioned I cant drive my vehicle after registration expires. That was as helpful as a mouthful of sand. I went to registry on Wye, paid $28 instead. Needed a tow from Edmonton to home in Sherwood Park. I have Premium RV membership for many many years. Was told "we dont tow from residence to residence". Not sure myself and family will renew memberships.
Renewing my registration every two years is a dreadful experience for the simple fact of having to wait in a line at AMA. Regardless of peak or non peak hours, there's only 2-3 kiosks ever open meanwhile 5 or more employees elsewhere are idle on their phones or talking to one another. I've tried coming at different times on different days and the lineup never takes less than 30 minutes just to speak to a registry agent. I'd like to see AMA either train their employees to do more tasks so that they can float between roles depending on the lineups or simply staff more employees. My experience with agents and otherwise has been good 4/5.

I have been a customer for at least 4 years and have never once found them to go above and beyond, at times I've felt they were inconvenienced to do the work. Will not go back.
My fiancee and I live out of town and need a marriage license. We phoned this location twice to ask if we would be able to come in seperate to fill out the paper work and sign the documents. Twice your staff assured us over the phone that is would not be an issue. We even clarified over the phone that this wasn't just for the info sheet but the actual signed document. When I drove in from out of town your staff were rude, very short with me and said that we had to come in together to sign. When I asked why I would have been told differently they ignored the question and walked away. I am extremely dissatisfied with the performance of the staff. Their lack of knowledge was a waste of my time and their attitudes were very unprofessional.
The staff is very professional.and today I played for my registration .theirs no more sticker to put on your licsence.

This location is significantly understaffed. I have come on various occasions to register vehicles and each time there has been a very long, slow moving line. Today the wait was over an hour to register a vehicle. I saw multiple members give up and leave the line as it was taking so long.

Awful service by Red Deer Fleet AMA Roadside. My car needed a boost but instead I was told to buy a new battery. The AMA serviceman never even tried to boost my car battery. I called Ford Roadside assistance and their team was at my place under 15 minutes, they boosted my car in seconds. AMA, you can do better than that.
The worst company..i call them for road assistant for towing at around 1023pm..and they came 1247am..im waited for almost 2 1/2 hours.
You have to wait extremely long times. They are always short staffed and agents continue to leave as the line gets longer.
Honestly unimpressed. Had multiple things to do. Took nearly two hours to get insurance added to an existing policy for wife's new car. Back and forth to the dealership for some other BS piece of paper no one told about in previous phone discussions to get plates. Did not bother with the 3 or for other things we really needed done. Simply put, we're done with and won't use this office again.
Worst registration provider possible. Do NOT go through ama. If youve been with them for years with insurance and registration, they wont lift a damn finger to help without a membership card active. Kind of pathetic considering how much i pay for insurance and everything.

So many teller desks, yet they only have 1 or 2 people serving customers while everyone twiddles their thumbs. Hard to believe this is a member-only place, I get better service at the bottle depot.

Friendly staff. Usually very helpful but they need more staff. When you go here you must have at least 1 hour to spare because that's the guaranteed time you'll be here.
I have traveled many times with AMA but apparently their travel policy has changed. I am going on two trips this spring and summer, big trips for me. When I talked to an agent I explained I was a senior and not a technical experts so would like to have her do the bookings etc,. She was very rude to me, told me i could go on the AMA web site and do my own bookings and save the $100 I would have to pay her up front. With the money I was prepared to pay AMA I do not have to pay for rudeness or a do it your self web site. Very upset and disappointed.
The quotes are a joke. They quote you one thing and then increase the bill by about 600$ a year without even letting you know. And then you get to pay 100$ to get out of the policy that hasn’t even gone into effect.
Do no go here for travel photos, especially China visa photo. They take all photos in passport size even though the specifications for other visas are different. They do not guarantee the photos so you can't take them back once you realize they gave you the wrong size and dimensions. Poor service while paying for the wrong thing. Walmart on the south in Red Deer did a fantastic job of the Visa photos for China. reprinted when not quite right, no back light which gives a much better photo.
I was previously with AMA for a few years, but my rates kept going up and up with NO tickets, No accidents ect. I had no choice but to shop around and quickly realized AMA was the most expensive! I made the switch to TD insurance and have had no outrageous rate increases since I joined 3 years ago. SHOP AROUND!!

I was here this morning. The ladies were fantastic & very helpful. I've been with AMA since 2015 & have always been treated great.
Typically poor service and an expensive product for what it cost. No travel info for Huatulco, Mexico. The lady told me to use Google. Vehicle registration is painfully slow and costs the same as One Stop. My membership gives me the privilege of accessing the poor service.
Service is absolutely useless. They will not do anything to help you out. There was a problem with a wrong address for my registration. I gave them all the Information they need they know who Iam but I don't know the address on the old account or everyone attached to the account. I cant change and update the account because I don't know the old address but they won't give me that info to do change it. So as I was trying to explain to her that all i need is the address so I can update to he new she hang up on. All I needed was the old address to update the new one and they wouldn't allow me to do it.
I really like the team here. They are helpful and typically speedy with help.

I am physically disabled and legally blind. My ride from the airport got stuck late last night in the snow. My son, coming to get me in a SUV, also stuck. AMA prioritized my call as I couldn't walk home. Wonderful,empathetic, and professional staff. Both on the telephone and in the rescue vehicle they sent!!!
Impressed with quick service from AMA towing when I had car issues while passing through Red Deer. Very tough afternoon dealing with car problems however, seamless service from AMA made the day a bit easier.

Worst Insurance company I have ever dealt with. I cancelled all of my policies with AMA due to the terrible customer services. Unfortunately I was forced to deal with AMA insurance again when my father passed away and his insurance was through them. AMA immediately almost tripled the rates on the property due to it being vacant even though we had people inspecting the property daily. Not even 3 months later AMA notified me that they were removing the home owners policy and essentially covering nothing in the property or any damage that could potentially occur. I was informed they did not want to even cover us anymore due to the vacancy. They suggested I take this policy somewhere else. BEWARE - The service is terrible and if you pass away they will discard you and your family like a piece of trash.
I’ve been a member of AMA for many years and have had nothing but positive experiences with them on every level of service, from those contract service providers who have arrived to open my vehicle door after locking my keys inside, to needing a boost, to needing towing services, to receiving counter services for renewals, etc. It is an “Association”, therefore yes, if you are not a member then don’t expect the same level of service if any, not unlike any association anywhere! I have earned back my modest annual membership dues in spades and highly recommend AMA to all!
Good quick service today, even during a pandemic. I've been a customer here for over 10 years and am always happy dealing with them.

I went in to sign up for Alberta Healthcare and the guy who signed us up forgot to get signatures from my wife so we had to waste our time and go in again. Also their service over the phone is terrible I asked them to Email me claims experience letters and have still not received them despite two phone calls. Terrible service.

The Driver's licence renewal staff are rude and not well trained in customer service. We had to go back many times because they kept changing their mind on what documentation we needed to renew my driver's licence. Go elsewhere where they treat you with respect and show courtesy. The registry office resembles the bad rap in USA DMV offices - staff busy chit chatting, customers lining up, no respect for privacy etc I am cancelling my AMA card at the next renewal ** I am really not interested in reliving the horrible experience - SO NO I won't be calling or emailing anyone. I would suggest you get your act together - watch how your staff are dealing with people and complex situations - provide comprehensive training to all your front line staff and you will address most of what's lacking ! I just returned from getting my renewal and 2 annual returns completed at Sherwood Park Registries - what a difference ! great service and knowledgeable ladies - got all if it done in no time.

We needed to get our truck registered on New Year’s Eve in the afternoon 30 mins before closing. We don’t have an AMA membership, and I didn’t know I needed one until informed by the clerk. She could have made us pay for a membership before she let us use their services but she was nice enough to tell us this one time she would do it for us. I completely forget her name but 35-40 ish Filipino lady, give her some kudos AMA. We would have never bought an AMA membership but I have since went back and purchased one.

We used AMA for the advice however we quickly discovered AMA travel agents are not knowledgeable, never offer advice and appear just to be order takers. I would suggest people save their money and book the trips themselves. Absolutely no accountability.

Was greeted by a lovely woman who referred us to Colleen (bright red hair) to inquire about travel. We told her a few places where we wanted to go and a decent budget. She looked up two places we mentioned, told us the cost and asked if we wanted to book, without even showing us pictures or offering any information about ANYTHING. We felt like peasants who couldn't afford anything after she looked extremely bored with us. Least to say, I'm not impressed with the "service" or lack of respect we were not given. I booked online, and certainly not through AMA.
