REVIEWS OF Uncle Sam Boat Tours IN Gananoque

Gentle John

It was more laid back to some of the fancier dinner cruise I've been on. But the high points were.. The prime rib was very good though the veggies were not. Salad and dessert was good also. Staff was friendly and the view for the 4th of July was amazing with the Full moon and all the fireworks were a fabulous backdrop. Entertainment was fun and he did a great job on the choice of songs.

Kim Jones

The ride was nice and smooth. It was quite scenic and the tour guide was great. He was descriptive and detailed without being overbearing.

JOSE RODRIGUEZ

Excellent service, very fun and informative. Definitely will be back.

Debasis Kar

Wonderful ride on my Birthday. Thank you to my wonderful husband. Just wish the girl who was narrating the tour would not have been picking her head during the whole tour. It was gross and I could not watch her. We went about 3:30 on 07/12/2021

Justin Seippel

The tour was informational. The wine slushy was great. The speaker was new and talked alot about his rich family so that was not great. VERY pretty views though.

Michelle Jante

Our captain and tour guide were friendly and knowledgeable. The boat had its own concession stand with food and drinks, and the tour itself was beautiful. I highly recommend the 2 nations tour, it takes about 2 hours and you can see highlights from both the American and Canadian side of the majestic St. Lawrence River.

Eileen Fitzpatrick

We took American Narrows Tour which is 2 hours and were totally satisfied with it. The stories were fun and informative. You can also ask whatever you are interested about. Arrive earlier so you can find comfortable seating since it’s on a first-come, first-serve basis. At the end of the tour you have an option to go to the Boldt Castle but you would have to buy tickets separately.

Marc Araujo

Clean boats, attentive staff, relaxing tours!

Thomas Marino

Nice experience, we went to Boldt castle and Singer Castle. The ride to Singer castle was long but it was a nice ride. Tour guide gave us a lot of facts about the islands which was neat.

Chamodhi Ravihansi

Nice tour of the St. Lawrence river system. Staff is amazing and knowledgeable; You will learn alot on this tour, everything from a man made island to Heart island and the history of Boldt castle. Boat is spacious (at least the 2 and 3 hour tour boats) with a wide variety of beverages and snacks available at very reasonable prices.

theatus chapman

Love it. It is great. Amazing views. And the tour and history even better

George Duane

Informative and entertaining. Enjoyed it very much.

Mary Harper

Quick and safe way to the Castle.

Dave Handley

We did the Narrows tour and it was such a good experience. Guide was very informative. Learned a lot about 1000 islands. They have bathrooms at the premises and enough parking. Top deck is the best place to get all the views, so make sure to go early to have a good spot. In the tour and final stop is Boldt Castle. You can roam around the island as you please and then hop into any of Uncle Sam boats to get to Alexandria Bay.

Rishabh Neb

Did the Singer tour 10am, it was great. The crew was organized, well communicated, good Covid19 precautions. Good value for money, good experienced guides on the cruise and at Singer Castle.

Jawad Siddiqui

We took a 2-hour tour of the river and then back down to Boldt Castle. The tour guide was awesome for it being only his sixth tour that he narrated for. The views were spectacular and I would highly recommend the tour .

GoGo Guide

Great millionaires row tour. Go an hour early to get in line for your boat and get a a good choice of sears. Boat has a bathroom and snack bar.

Maureen Lunetta

Excellent service… I went on a Sunday and it wasn’t too crowded. Their 1-hour long Millionaire row was a great experience!! Would recommend.

Silkia Solis

Good commentary! Excellent landscapes .

Olena Haviuk-Sheremet

Very pleasant and interesting boat tour. We took the one hour millionaires row tour. Heard all about the wealthy families and beautiful homes along our tour of the St. Lawrence River. All the views from the boat were good and you can go on the upper deck if you want to be outside. We took the option to be dropped off at Boldt Castle (additional fee to view the castle but well worth it) and then were shuttled back by Uncle Sam to our original location (included in tour price).

Jim McTague

Galina Gelke

Beautiful sights on this tour. Guide was knowledgeable of the area and full of fun facts. Boldt Csstle is a must see and tour does stop for guests to explore the island and home that is being restored magnificently!

BINU THOMAS

Singer castle and Boldt castle. I videoed for a guy who proposed to his girlfriend at Boldt.

Melissa Ladd

Took the 2-hour 2 Nation Tour on the Alexandria Belle on a fall Saturday at 10:00 am. The tour was a great experience, and the guide was wonderful in pointing to the right place along the tour and gave us the stories with the islands or the architects there.

Leslie Jones

The boat tour itself was nice but the 2.5 hour tour is really 1.75 hours and they try to count the time at Boldt Castle which is an additional cost (understandable). The main issue is they overbooked. People wait to board 30 minutes and a bus tour pulls up and they give them the entire 1st and part of floor 2 leaving the line of people waiting to board wrapped around the parking lot. People didn't have space to sit and many had to stand. It was still a nice tour but for the cost they have zero business overbooking and I'm sure if the Coast Guard boarded they would find a violation with the ratio of lifejackets and number of passengers.

Debbie Fackey

1 hour cruise very professionally done. I had bought tickets for the wrong date that was in the past but they still let me and my family on the cruise. They didn't have to. Just for that they get a full 5 star.

Chad Eldred

Uncle Sam Boat Tours is amazing! They were very informative and professional. I loved hearing about the history behind all of the places we got to see. It was also affordable and entertaining. Very family friendly and your safety is their top priority. Every single staff member had a smile on their face and they really seemed to love their jobs. I would recommend them to anyone!

Kathryn FoxGroves

Great boat tour. Knowledge tour guide.

Keith Sanders

Great American Narrows tour. Very good notes on things you see. 2.5 hrs with a stop if you like at Boldt Castle as an option. Goes to Rock Island SP and then back.

Wayne Geiser

My family and I booked two tours through this company. The first was to Boldt castle. This was a great tour, no complaints. This tour would get 5 stars. The second tour was for Tuesday to Singer castle. My tickets were for 11:00. Departing at 10:45. My husband thought this was incorrect and had me call. It was WRONG! The boat was leaving at 10. They changed the time to accommodate a bus. We had no email, no call. Nothing. When I complained, they said oh sorry. Ahhhh. there were no other tours and we drove 1100 miles to tour the castles. Again, no email, no call...we would have been out the tour. I sent an email to the manager..no response. If you book. Call and make sure they do not change the time to accommodate buses, and forget to inform the people with paid tickets. Unprofessional and bad business.

Nicole Melissa Rivera Sanchez

A great way to enjoy the ride over the Boldt Castle!

Andrea Mclaughlin

Boat ride for two hour was fantastic. Drink & snack needs to improve. Crew was friendly and drunk people on board with no shoes!

Judith Jones

First time visitor after COVID This company definitely taken care of there passengers ,the place was clean and organized The tour itself didn’t impress me so much, you can’t absorb the beauty of the islands from the boat ,but We really enjoy stopping at the Castles

Carol Palmer

I love USBT! I have been on the 2 nation tour 3 times and today went out to singer castle. Staff is ALWAYS super friendly and helpful. If you are looking for something to do definitely check into their many options for boat tours.

Muzzy Teke

We held our Wedding Reception on board the Island Duchess. Cruising the St. Lawrence was the perfect way to spend the evening with our guests. It was a night none of us will forget. We also had a private Boldt Castle Shuttle for our guests which made the whole day stress free. Jenny was spectacular helping us make sure not a detail was missed. John, GM and Captain for the night, went out of his way to provide a great experience for everyone.

Cami Iacob

An absolutely delightful staff with great narration of the natural beauty they go through!

Elisa Encinosa

My family had a wonderful time on the guided tour boat around thousand islands.

Mary Chapman

The crew were friendly and knowledgeable about the St. Lawrence river and the surrounding history. The boat was clean too.

Mike Bond

This is my 4th time to visit 1000 islands and I still enjoy it very much, Boldt Castle is still need lots of work to do. Highly recommended.

Allison Reinert

Beautiful ride and they are very courtesy

Jeff and Tami Unger

The tour is great and beautiful! Tour guides are always well-prepared. Unfortunately, the speaker at our end of the room was not working, so we missed the vast majority of the commentary. That's the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars. Surprisingly, food on board is very cheap. The tour itself is also very affordable. Always enjoy the tour.

Chasing Lemons

Very enjoyable boat tour! Many expensive homes on millionaires row! Heart island was worth the time to stroll through George Bolt's castle!

Brad Golden

A nice pleasant boat ride up the St. Lawrence. What a beautiful place!

Hong Lin

Beautiful day☀️☀️???????? Enjoyed the luch cruise and then Boldt Castle. Amazing site with all the restoration. Lots of walking!???? Went in the gift shop within the Castle. I was able to get some thrifty souvenirs such as magnets and tote bag. There's also many other souvenirs available. Also there are little shops that line the street as you arrive and you can grab some great souvenirs there as well.

Deepthi Mohan

We did the Singer Castle Tour cruise. The weather was not so great, but there is indoor seating as well as upper deck outdoor seating. The upper desk has a small area with a roof overhang. We found that if we wanted to hear the commentary we needed to be on the upper deck, so we braved the weather the whole time. The overhang made it fine. The staff was good, light refreshments were available for purchase, (the Coyote sunglasses are a good price), bathrooms on board. With the 2 pm departure of the cruise, you only have about an hour and a half once they drop you at Boldt Castle. The operation is smooth and enjoyable. When planning, you won't have time to do the yacht house and Boldt Castle if you are getting dropped off from the 2 pm Singer Castle cruise.

James Merrill

Good . on Time..clean restrooms.

M. Klein

Took the American Narrows tour and loved it. Wheelchair accessible boats was a big plus. Good tour for the ticket price and good narration for the tour. Highly recommend.

Stell P

We had a great time on the "Two Nation Tour." Our motorcycle group was staying at Capt. Thomson's for the weekend and we were given a discount rate for the tour. It was very interesting and informative. The boat stopped at the Boldt Castle just before returning to Alexandria Bay. We took the opportunity to get off and tour the castle. You can board any Uncle Sam boat to return to the AB dock.

George Torres

They always do such a great job. So many cool stories of the islands and the houses. Great meal for the lunch cruise and a great crew.

Jessica Stafford

We had a great time cruising with Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours. We had a great lunch on the lower level and enjoyed great views on the upper level. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining as well. This tour was along the Saint Lawrence River. Alexandria Bay is beautiful and the Thousand Islands tour proved to be a hi-light of my vacation.

Hawaiiantrixie

Loved the Millionaires Row tour. They provide a lot of information about the islands. The tour takes you around the area, including the Canadian border and stops at the castle. You get to see all the sites. Quick tip: our tour started on the left, so seat on the left side for photography.

Steve Jackson

The ride up and down the St. Lawrence River was awesome.!

Ambarish Sundararajan

When we went to the parking area it was completely full, with half of it roped off and inaccessible. We found a spot on the street at a meter. When we went to check in and asked about the other half of the lot, they sent someone over there to open it. We did the Two Nation Tour with the lunch add on. It was my understanding that first on board chose their seats. So we arrived 1.5 hours before departure. When we boarded we were told we had to sit in the bottom of the boat and could go upstairs after we ate, not to worry there would be plenty of room. After we ate, we went upstairs and both upper levels were completely full. We had to sit in the dining area for the whole trip. The food service was also disappointing. The entire group went through the line before anyone came to refill the food. There was still about 1/2 the group to go when we went through and there were several empty trays. The food was mediocre at best. Cold cut sandwiches, pasta salad, chicken nuggets, and mac and cheese. The dining area was not clean. There are spider webs all over and the windows were disgustingly dirty. The narration portion of the tour was well done and informative. My suggestion to others is skip the mediocre lunch service and get the good seats for the tour.

Marshall

The boat was clean, the guide was friendly and informative, and the whole family had a great experience. We went on the 2 1/4 hour American Narrows tour. Logistics were a bit frustrating - online ordering system didn't have most updated information and when I called to get the available hours, the phone system only listed a date 3 months past and no one answered when I tried to get a person. We wound up just buying tickets in person and luckily there was a relatively close departure time available.

Ana Cabrera

Excellent shuttle service id you ended up parking at the overflow parking. Food is well it's junk good so I guess you can live off the alcohol but I don't drink so I brought my home cooked food and enjoyed my time at the boat. I never felt sea sick but this is first time on boat I felt that. Staff is excellent though.

Jessica M.

Great American Narrows Your. Spacious and clean boats. Friendly staff.

Joe Shen

We did The American Narrows cruise and the Singer Castle cruise. Both were excellent.

Neal Tubbs

A yearly event for us! It's both beautiful and interesting to hear the history of the area. The crew is a lot of fun and always have good jokes to tell! We love going to Boldt Castle and also Singer Castle. One of the biggest thrills is seeing the huge ships going by! Sometimes we go for the day and other times we stay for a weekend. Thousand Island Park has a great gazebo, benches, a playground and a small beach. Such a lovely place!

Xin Chen

Great way to learn the local history. I would suggest the 2.5 hour tour. Get off on Boldt castle and enjoy the grounds.

Rosemary

First time to visit on 9/04/2021 Boldt Castle.....Friendly staff and a fantastic day!

Ashley McHale

It was great and very efficient. Paid for tickets online with no issues. Took the 1 hour tour and loved it!! Would do it again. They have different tour opinion. Check out website.

Fred Hickman

I took my sweet family on a little tour. It was fun. Heart island is fantastic.

Hanif

I am disable and was able to bring my scooter on the boat. The trip was nice and the tour guide was informative.

Paul Brosch

The tour was beautiful but not great in terms of a "guided tour" the guide didn't talk that much or point out very much. Was a bit tacky how she talked about her upcoming wedding and asked for tips for her honeymoon... But the boat was great and the rest of the crew was awesome. We took some absolutely beautiful pictures. Was a great sightseeing experience.

Sachin Sujir

I loved it so much I came back for another tour. This time I brought my fiancé and he loved it too! We are planning on bringing our family for another trip to the Thousand Islands and most definitely the Uncle Sam Boat Tour again next year! The staff is Awesome, Knowledgeable and Fun! Definitely a great time for all ages and the prices are very reasonable. This trip we got to pass a Canadian Tanker which was just so cool! When you go to Alexandria Bay in the Thousand Islands... Don't miss out and take one of there St. Lawrence River Tours!

Pam Ramsey

We did the 2 nations tour and it was the perfect amount of time touring the Thousand Islands area. Nate was the mc and had some epic dad jokes along with great information. Stopped at the end to tour Boldt Castle. Would recommend this tour and company!

Rose LaFrance

This is a great way to see The 1000 Islands area from the water. The Millionaires Row tour was interesting, informative and relaxing. The time went by quick. We saw some cool houses and stopped at Boldt Castle. You have the option too stay on board and arrive back to the deck (apx 1 hour total for that trip) or get off and pay additionally for the castle tour (recommend). The boat is older but generally clean and the staff was great. The top deck offered a nice breeze and was quieter. This made it easier to hear the guide (who spoke from the top deck, speakers on both decks). No airconditioning on the double decker we were on. They do offer drinks and snacks for purchase. All reasonably priced. There were two small batrooms on the lower level rear (one each side). There is also one across the street from where you purchase tickets as well (pre-post boarding). Look for the red arrow. Botdt Castle tickets can be purchased on the dock prior to departure, or if you decide to get off at the castle they sell them there as well. Uncle Sams does have boats to shuttle you back to the starting point (dock) every half hour from the castle (quarter after & quarter to the hour).

Elizabeth AlFayad

The boat tour was a lot of fun. The narrator was very informed and entertaining. The website states that they load on a first come basis. So we get there early. However they loaded two large groups in front of us. Subsequently we were not able to get a seat on the top deck.

Bruce Smith

It was okay to spend 2hrs with friend. But not much interesting point after season.

Rajiv Deshpande

On a beautiful 75 degree day, this is MAGICAL!

alex chiu

What a GREAT group of people!! All of the workers are so friendly and helpful!! Prices are WELL affordable!!

Terry Yoo

The service that I have been shown from Uncle Sam’s boat trips was phenomenal! From the beginning when the previous passengers got off, we are able to see the crew sanitizing the ship. This is great because of the current pandemic going on. The ship was nice and comfortable in the inside. Our guide was a kind and funny person. He let us know everything about the different islands we saw. He said many funny jokes as well. The experience I had on this tour was great because of all the different islands I saw and the commentary our guide was giving us. I rate this a 5/5 because everything was going great from the beginning to the end.

Jay Coffman

Like any other boat tour...the more people on the boat the less fun it is for all onboard: Staff included. First tour was a sold out show on the Island Duchess. A decent sized 3 deck ferry and friendly staff but with 350 passengers it's pretty much a stockade experience. Look for times and dates that are low attendance and you'll enjoy it a lot more. Second tour was a low attendance sip and sail on the same ship...was wonderful...particularly the periods of just music through the PA system. Drink prices are very reasonable too.

Edward Lepenven

A lovely, relaxing way to cruise the St Lawrence River from Alex Bay NY. See the beautiful homes and hear some history about the area. You can stop to see Boldt Castle and you might even pass a ship!

Gail Geissler

I cannot wait to do this boat tour again. This time with my whole family. We also did the dinner tour and that was amazing as well. When we go back we will be checking out the lunch tour that ends at boldt castle and we will take a look around there. Honestly if you can do this trip I highly recommend it. It was so beautiful even at night. All the food was delicious. They had red velvet cake for dessert. I wanted to eat every piece. Even the band they had was very good and friendly.

Jennie B

Love the boats. The ride. I want go back again

Jon Murray

We did the dinner cruise it was a very fun trip. Captain and crew were excellent. Prime rib was decent. Would go again.

Nat Pmartinez

Excellent day to be on the River. The tour guide was a clever teen who knows the area well. All the staff was friendly and responsive. Food is available, reasonably priced, and of fair quality. Don't worry about being on the water. The boat is stable and you will barely feel any wave motion. Too bad for those of us who enjoy that...The tour is pleasant and informative and provides easy access to Boldt Castle. Plan to sail earlier in the day so that you have ample time to stroll around the beautiful grounds of the castle.

Kadi Barnes

Had used used Uncle Sam for their shuttle to Bolt Castle and decided to return for the Two Nation Tour. Took my parents who thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was a great time. The tour is several hours. The tour guide was informative and full of humorous anecdotes and clever jokes. Reasonably priced family fun.

Wanda Leight

The tour was great and we had a great time, The guide was very knowledgeable and the food and drinks were also very reasonable. The only suggestion is not to drive early like they said like they tell you as you just stand on the side of the boat waiting to get let on at the time that they open anyway.

Loveta Geesey

Mult 29, 2020. I took the boat tour with my daughter. We absolutely loved it.We had two guides fanny, knowledgeable . and professional .The Boldt Castle is amazing!!!!! All guide lines for the Covit 19 were followed. I will be back with my husband on Labor Day weekend, Would highly recommend

Scott Welch

The best thing about these tours are consistency. No matter when you come, nor the time of year, you can be sure you will get great views and fun facts.

Bruce Baker

A must see if your visiting Alexandria Bay, N.Y. The entrance fees are spent on the completion of the castle as planned a 100 years ago. Visitors 30 years ago saw an unfinished castle ravished by 73 years of abandonment. Hope to make it back in 10 years

Kevin Markowski

We did the American Narrows tour in Sept 2020 (covid times) and it was really great. The boat was full, but it was possible to social distance and masks were required except when seated at designated seats. The tour was about two hours long, but we did not go to the Canadian side due to restrictions. On the way back, the boat docked at Boldt Castle so, you can combine the boat ride with a castle visit as well. Charges were $ 24.50 per adult and ~15 per child. We were on the three-level boat, and it included restrooms and a concession stand (serves alcohol). Ticket does not include entry to the castle, which costs about ten dollars per person. Things to see on this tour: pretty houses and islands. Lots of birds. The tour guide tells you about the house owners and a gives a little history about the different places.

Ron Mersinger

This place was highly recommended!! And it was definitely worth the price. We went to heart Island and it was a short nice ride. Everyone was so friendly

Lauren Hill

Had a great time. The guide was interesting, helpful, and amusing. The boat ride was great and we had a wonderful time.

Bonnie Morales

Its a remarkable place. A must visit. Its utterly beautiful and will certainly blow your mind away. People travelling to Niagara falls must take a detour to visit this place. Take uncle sams ferry tour and they are amazing. Will guide you through awesome billionaire mansion and explain the story behind it. The place is serene and has amazing vibes. It begins on the American side and then you travel to the Canadian villas, deboard at a couple of spots and witness the luxury villas. It a lifetime experience and people living there are some lucky angels. Uncle Sam tours are amazing, the staff is courteous and explains things very well.

Ruby M Lieberman

Beautiful boat ride. Bolt Castle was spectacular.

Bob Miller

Loved it. Had a little rain but it didn't ruin our fun. Tour guide was great.

Mandatory Google Profile

Great ride, really enjoyed it. The best part is to cross the US-CANADA water border. Must visit for Thousands Island trip.

J H

Two hours and fifteen minutes a trip, relaxed and enjoyable with lots of stories to hear.

Rich Johnson

This review is specifically for the dinner cruise. I have never written a poor review in my life, but this had to be the worst quality meal I’ve ever had presented to me. It was honestly unbelievable. We paid $60 per adult and $50 per child to barely eat one bite. The vegetables were from a frozen bag and drowning in water, absolute mush. The potatoes were raw. The ravioli was still cold and practically frozen on the inside and the prime rib was so rare and fatty that it could not be consumed. I’m pretty sure literal children were in charge of preparing the food... Not to mention the bathroom facilities were horrifying. They had clearly not been cleaned prior to docking, smelled terribly of urine and the soap dispensers were broken. It’s astonishing to think they expect people to follow a dress code and then present them with a meal like this and facilities like that. Do not waste your money, eat literally anywhere else.

Tracie Rentz

Wonderful boat tour of the Thousand Island region

Rodger Hicks

Excellent cruise on the waterway, great staff, family enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended it,if you're ever up in the area, great way of discovering 1000 islands.

Sharen Hitchon

Good way to understand the islands and the seaway.

Lauren Chandless

We planned a family day with uncle sam's boat tour and it was a beautiful day and the experience with the tour was amazing. They had a glitch with the microphone system at first but that was not a damper of the tour. We and an amazing day and ride. Will definitely do it again.

Chris Schanbacher

Went to boldts catsle and saw the island and got souvenirs on the way back on the boat had a lot of rain and I felt safe everyone is so welcoming in Alexandria town and in the bay area they complement me and it was the best 2 days that I stayed

Kulwinder Kaur

I was probably 6 years old when I went on my first USBT, it was a frequent summer activity since I grew up about 30 minutes away. I moved away in 84 and recently returned with friends. The tour is delightful and it was very nostalgic for me. I so missed the beautiful St Lawrence River. I enjoyed the area so much I've planned another long weekend over Labor Day weekend and this time I'm booked for the Dinner cruise. So looking forward to returning.

Taylor Skaggs

The tour was excellent. Our guide was a young girl that is born and raised in Alexandria Bay and she knew everything about the river. The captain was very pleasant and knowledgeable about any question I asked him. I bet highly recommend going on a tour with the Uncle Sam Boat tours. I've been many times before and they never disappoint.

Jen Rumphol

It was a lovely trip around the islands and the young man giving the tour was very informative. It is great to have both indoor and outdoor seating options. The boat needs some TLC (ie. the ceiling above the boat captain's seat).
