Don’t expect to find your way in to the rest area if coming through at night. Tried to stop this year at midnight but did not see entrance. Stopped two years ago, but it was closed at night and all washrooms were closed. Stopped previous years at various times and at night the washrooms were open and available, In daytime the staff were pleasant and information office very good,

When travelling through or to Alexandria Bay wheel of stopping at this conservation.. It's kind of a bit breathtakingly because of the scenery and the well-kept grounds. When we going to the building's the staff are very friendly very courteous and very knowledgeable as they help you too identify your needs and take care of them. If you've never stop by this area you must put it on your list next time travelling through

(Translated) This was a stop for our bus on our Eastern Canada group tour and from there we went on a 'pleasure boat'. We then made a very nice trip on the Stankt-Lorenz stream for about 1.5 hours and were able to admire a number of different-sized built-up and undeveloped islands. (Original) Das war auf unser Ost-Kanada-Gruppenrundreise ein Haltepunkt für unseren Bus und von dort aus gings auf ein 'Ausflugsschiff'. Wir haben dann für ca. 1,5 h eine sehr schöne Fahrt auf dem Stankt-Lorenz-Strom gemacht und haben währenddessen etliche verschiedengrosse bebaute und unbebaute Islands bewundern dürfen.

I visited the old site, before construction began for the new welcome center. The grounds are beautiful, the ponds also, despite the algae. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

The property is well maintained. Regional tourist information available here. There are also picnic tables and a very pleasant shaded area with mature trees for the weary driver to take a break.

There weren't any brochures and the stuff featured "from New York" was expensive a d not practical.

Can you contact and get your ChargePoint EV station working? Right now its just a parking spot for EVs.

I was disappointed there wasn't a water fountain (furthermore, the tap water was labeled "do not drink" and the vending machine was empty.) It was, however a beautiful place to stop and stretch.

They have constructed a new building to replace the old historic structure, and in the process changed the entrance from directly off of I 81 to a round about route that is signed but isn't as convenient. Once there, there are a few parking spots for larger vehicles, as well as several car sized spots. The new building was closed when in was there, so washroom access was not available like it formerly was. Wheelchair accessible, disabled parking. Grounds are very pretty with a playground on site. Good spot to stop after crossing the border. Or there is a Rest Area about 2 miles further south right on I 81.
