I am thoroughly disappointed and upset at the CAA service, a family member needed assistance in a different Province, they called at 11.00 p.m. last night. The first time they have ever used your service too. They were told somebody would be out in an hour .......... 2 hours later nothing, no phone call, nothing moved on the App to show where the breakdown truck was either, just showing that the call was received.
They telephoned again and hour later to be told that province of Nova Scotia closes at midnight, and all calls get directed to Ontario. However Phil at the Ontario branch told me that as they were closed in Nova Scotia there is no communication available to them in Ontario as to the development of breakdown calls, and to call the police if he was in danger, no danger, but getting quite cold now.
Another hour and a half later we called CAA again (to be recognized by the polite receptionist) and she told us that we should have been helped by Ontario branch, she forwarded our call to a lady called Sarah who took my relatives phone number (a member too), called him and arranged a tow truck, which arrived in just under an hour.
Fortunately the weather was zero and just under, the road conditions were good and there was not a storm happening.
Why on earth did this happen ? Its unacceptable to wait 5 1/2 hours on the roadside in the middle of the night, I had important meetings today and feel exhausted having to continually chase up CAA throughout the night.
