My husband and I went on a guided kayak tour with Erica. She was knowledgeable, very attentive and truly fun! She provided concise, easy to follow directions and made sure we were comfortable once we were out in the ocean in our kayak. All the equipment provided was in excellent condition. We had an awesome time. Thanks!!
I just came back from a Kayak tour with my friends and what a blast! Aaron is a super funny guy and the tour of the harbor was great with all the airplanes taking off and all the little wee tug boats. I really enjoyed my day, thanks Arron!
A great time kayaking and tour to get to see and know the area better.
Excellent experience today. Our guide Kipp was amazing, we saw seals with pups, blue sky and sunshine. Great time had by all. Small group of 6 so had a personal feel with the guide. Will definitely go back there on our next trip back.
Popular tourist site
Very nice people.and a nice tour around the bay.
Rented a double kayak for 2 hours. Got speedy, helpful and friendly service. Very accommodating even though I didn't make a reservation. We had a great time. Even saw an otter playing nearby. Now I want to go for longer!
Hi Everyone, I booked a kayak rental for my mom and I this past weekend and everything could not have gone smoother! It was very simple and easy to make the reservation and when we arrived everything was there ready to go. The staff were friendly and very informative, we had the nicest lady help us and answer any and all questions we had. All in all it was an amazing time with my mom and the two hours was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the Gorge and all of the beautiful scenery around. Saw lots of seals and a couple of blue herons, so cool! Over all I would say it was pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis experience and I'd give it two big thumbs up <3
Super friendly and very capable staff; awesome kayaking experience and great pricing for rental. I've rented from other locations, and this one, for its location, ease of in and out, paperwork, cost and friendliness of staff, is by far the best.
This is a great little kayaking company. Nice staff and guides with plenty of knowledge of the area and kayaking. The kayaks are in really good condition and are actually comfortable. Would highly recommend a tour if you're in the area, worth the low price for sure.
This Mom and Pop little company is great. I was visiting Victoria with my wife and we decided on the spur of the moment to take a tour of the harbor. It was great getting out on the water and Aaron and his wife were super nice to us. Probably one of the better days we had in Victoria and good exercise too!
It was our first time kayaking today. My friend and I joined the sunrise kayak tour with our 4 young children (6 years old - 9 years old). Joanna is a very nice person and an amazing guide. It was the most memorable experience for us in Victoria. We will definitely go back and join the full day tour next time! Thanks Joanna!!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommend taking a tour with Victoria Kayak. Kip took us out to Seal Island and it was an experience of a lifetime - even better than whale watching! The baby seals were in the water and surrounded our kayaks playing peek-a-boo with us. So cute! Two of them followed us almost all the way back to the dock. Kip was very knowledgeable of the area and the local wildlife which resulted in a delightful tour. Would definitely do again - 6 out of 5 stars!
Nice experience with Gareth. Went along gorge waterway
Don't rent from here during the summer! Any other time of the year, but not summer! Upon leaving we waited for four Harbour planes to leave, had to contend with a number of harbor ferries and private marine traffic. Upon return we had the same story and I almost got run over by an idiot in a yacht that didn't realize I was trying to move for an incoming plane. Any other time, but in the summer this habour is nuts!
Right downtown next to Red Fish Blue Fish on the dock at the inner harbor. Rent the kayak and consider renting a bike for the surf and turf. We did not do a tour, just the rental. Most folks are capable of doing it. Try it out!
I loved it!
Great fun. Saw lots of wildlife including seals. Josh was a great tour guide with lots of information about the area. The equipment and kayak was good quality. They provide a bottle of water and snacks.
We were not sure what to expect when we brought our two young kids down to the dock, but knew we were in great hands as we arrived at Victoria Kayak. The owner and staff were super great with kids and immediately created a fun and safe environment! I highly recommend doing a tour. Our guide, Sophie, was so great and I learned so many things about Victoria even though I live here! Sophie was prepared, professional, patient and fun and she answered ALL my kids' questions!! Thank you so much for such a lovely day and memory!
Nice afternoon after work. Knowledgeable guide and not only about kayaks - good conversation. It was first time with the kayak on the sea, a bit windy but reassuring words from the guide.
Exspensive but fun!
Amazing!!! You aren't having the best time in Victoria unless you kayak with them.
The harbour is a very interesting place! To paddle next to the ships, planes and animals was just great! Staff was very friendly, prices are ok.
An amazing experience at an amazing price! Paddling up the gorge was a great way to see Victoria, and it was easy to learn how kayak (our first time). Thanks for the fun (and Carolyn was so friendly!!!)
Fun activity for a decent price. Great for beginners!
This was our first time kayaking here in Victoria and couldn’t have imagined a better day out on the water! Jenn was our guide for a half day tour and she was knowledgeable, easy-going, and made us feel right at home on the water. We were even lucky enough to hang out with some Harbour seals (those adorable lazy sausages)! Super impressed with every aspect and will most certainly be doing another tour in the future, as well as logging some hours in the rental kayaks. Thank you Jenn and Victoria Kayak Tours for the fantastic day :)
We had the best time doing the full moon tour! It was so cool to be out on the water at night. My husband and I have kayaked a few times but never together and we had a blast! Our tour guide was super, she was so excited that you couldn't help but have a good time. We saw the end of a gorgeous sunset, the lights on the parliament building, the glowing full moon and we even saw the bridge go up! It was a great way to spend the night!
If you really want to experience victoria in an adventurous fashion, and if you want a kayak tour with accomodating and intelligent staff, this is the place to go. In fact, if you want to enjoy your holiday in victoria, you should definately check it out. I started my experience at the wrong kiosk. There are two locations: rentals near the Empress and tours near Chinatown. Booking online, it booked a place 24 hours later in advance. However, the tour guide was more than happy to incorporate me into her group. Once fitted with equipment, our group of six (two doubles and two single)we headedtoward the gorge. The guide flooded us with fascinating information about the local Native culture, as well as a few facts about Victoria. We got to see a seal bobbing its head as we set off as well as a few heron midway. In the end, it was time and money well spent and I would put Victoria Kayak as a definite spot to visit in Victoria.
My family and I had a great time on the water. Erica was a great guide and I would recommend her! We saw a couple seals, birds, and an otter. Erica explained so much about the animals, plants, and workings of the harbor. Great job!
Incredible experience kayaking and talking to Kit
I had so much fun at the Victoria Kayak Tour! The guide met everyone's needs, and created great conversation! We saw lots of harbor otters!
We enjoyed the double kiyak
Very Professional, lots of help, and tons of fun!
10 star experience.....highly recommend!!!
Had a great time with friendly flexible service.
Awesome
I decided to go for a kayak and without reservations or any planning was able to get setup and off on my adventure in a matter of minutes. Since it wasn't a guided tour I was limited to the bay, but kayaking there was relaxing and easy. You get a different perspective of the city. I would recommend them to friends and family.
(Translated) The person who applied for the Sunday sunrise tour. I would like to compliment Gareth on being kind, professional and knowledgeable about the city. As it was morning time, there were no applicants, so I could have fun kayaking with my guide. It was a meaningful time for beginners to ride well and to observe the animals on the beach in close proximity.
Amazing experience, super nice and interesting guides. Definitely recommend a tour for tourist and locals both.
Jen was a killer guide! I'll be back!
I had an absolutely amazing experience with Victoria kayak tours on April 28th 2017. The staff (Joanna) and guide (Josh) were both incredibly friendly and helpful. Joanna is very personable and someone who loves their job and it shows in the best of ways. I felt very comfortable and well prepared by both Joanna and guide Josh. Josh was exceptionally charismatic and knew a lot about the gorge waterway in addition to kayaking. I would highly recommend Victoria kayak tours and rentals to anyone from Victoria or just visiting looking for something unique. It really is a great way to see Victoria and it was a pleasure dealing with Joanna and Josh.
Very welcoming staff, super easy going which was nice.
Lots of fun, and a great tour guide.
The sunrise tour was awesome, our guide was very facilitating and shared a lot of knowledge about the area, especially it's aboriginal history. The entire experience was a wonderful way to start the day with, 10/10 would recommend to anyone. Also, incredibly, Victoria Kayak Tours accept Bitcoin over the Lightning Network! Take note other businesses!
Loved it! Super helpful and friendly staff. I was sore the next day from the workout.
(Translated) I liked the people who work there who are very friendly and caring. The equipment was also in excellent condition. We saw seals. :) On the other hand, the obligatory kayaking route was very boring, very industrial and not very nature except a little towards the end of the circuit. Indeed we could not deviate from a very precise path. I am aware it is not the fault of the trade just obeying the traffic rules in the harbor but it was not a great hike.
I rented a kayak here (no tour), and found the girl working in the evening to be very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. I first stopped by upon seeing the sign just to ask about pricing, how long the rental was for, and the last rental time of the day. I had just missed the last time for the day and I was advised that every boat was prebooked for the next day. When I returned in two days the same person was working and she got me set up quickly and explained the map of where I could go. Overall a great 1.5 hours (I paddled a bit faster that expected, the rental was for 2 hours) and $42+tax.
Fun staff and a great place to spend the day exploring Victoria harbour!!
Great way to see the inner harbour and get some exercise in. The equipment is well-maintained and good condition. Very simple to hire via their website. The staff (owners i think? ) are friendly, warm and very easy going. Plenty of recommendations and tips for newcomers to kayaking. I will be using them again!
They are a really lovely bunch at Victoria Kayak Tours. We booked late one evening and they ran the sunrise tour the next day just for us. We had a great guide and were blown away by the wildlife we saw - two seals swum right under our Kayak barely a meter beneath us. Neither of us had much experience in a kayak we were made to feel at home.
Easy place to rent and kayak. Kayak also has rudder, makes it more maneuverable
Staff are very friendly and informative. First part of trip was very industrial and not as peaceful as the second half. But the view down the gorge is beautiful
We had a wonderful experience! Our original booking had to be canceled due to wind - and they quickly helped to get us rescheduled. This was my first time kayaking - and I had a great time! The instructions were clear and the staff were great! We went out to “Seal Island” and got to see some amazing sights! I would highly recommend for locals and tourists alike!
Decided to take my wife here for a date during our BC road trip and it was spectacular. we saw tonnes of wildlife which was the best part! The staff is friendly and fun and you can tell they really like what they are doing.
Incredible experience doing a morning kayak around the harbour to Seal Island! Our guide was knowledgeable and cheery and kept us on time without feeling hurried. Saw seal, heron, a giant starfish and some amazing scenary. 100% recommend the early tour if you can!
Excellent trip with a fun guide! Service was friendly and super helpful. Thank you.
I loved the experience with Victoria Kayak Rentals specially Joanna who was very kind and friendly and gave us clear instructions.
My partner and I are locals. Rented a double kayak. Really friendly service.
Very friendly and accommodating. It’s best to book ahead for the time slot you want, but they were doing their best to keep a few open for walk ins. We had forgot hats and sunscreen, and they had some available for our use. What a fun experience! Good for a first time kayaker that wants calmer water in the gorge region.
Emily was such a lovely guide! She shared her passion for kayaking and was an excellent teacher to us newbs :). Our 2 hours flew past! Highly recommend this to anyone with or without kayaking experience.
Amazing kayak tour! I went with my family a little while ago and we had such an amazing experience with Tess! She was very knowledgeable and incredibly easy to get along with. None of my family had been in a kayak before, but Tess was able to explain it all and made us feel like experts at the end of the tour. Definitely one of our favourite things we have done in Victoria. I would recommend this to everyone!
Had a great time kayaking around Victoria and getting to know the city more. The tour guide (Garrith if I remember correctly) was very outgoing and knowledgeable about the area. He told us historic stories about bridges and landmarks. Very great experience overall. Absolutely recommend to anyone.
The girls were great. They kept things moving through a transparent process and were great at explaining any questions I had. My niece and nephew had a great time, as did I. Don’t think twice about using these folks.
Took my daughter and her friend for the Full Monty Kayak day trip . They picked us up at our hotel . Once we arrived at the destination starting point they were very good at explaining safety and our navigation points . Our guide was a very traveled younger gentleman. The owner is a local and she just made us feel good about this adventure . Our guide provided so much information on landmarks and also on his own life experiences. He is such a great person , he added so much to our day . Our lunch was all provided and was much more than I expected, nothing but the best . This company I surely hope you have a chance to try the Full Monty . I assure you this will be a very memorable experience . Thanks for everything .
Couldn't find the rates online...couldn't reach by phone. 40$ for a single for 2 hours, 60$ for a double.
My boyfriend & I did the tandem kayaking for 2 hours in September, for our anniversary. It was raining the whole time but we still had a blast as there was so much to explore! I always get a bit nervous while on the water but I felt safe as the two young staff members were helpful and friendly.
We ended up getting a private tour with Kip as our guide. Great to experience Victoria from the water. Tour was fun and informative and we saw lots of wildlife. Can highly recommend.
This was my first kayaking experience. Didn't even get my feet wet! Simply awesome! Erika is great with newbies and guided me to a the secluded Seal island where u can get really close up with the local seals.
Friendly staff offered clear instructions, great tips. excellent equipment. Safe, fun, beautiful way to see the harbour and beyond. Recommended
Emma was very knowledgeable and funny as our guide. We loved our outing in the Harbour. The kayaks were in great condition also. A must do in Victoria.
