I cannot say enough in praise about this amazing experience and the dedicated team that run it. I wish I could go there every day. In the top 3 best days in this dinosaur - lovers life. Take your friends, grandparents, kids and just experience. I have never met a more devoted, sweet, thoughtful, compassionate, fossil obsessed team of people. My husband and I went there for our 3rd wedding anniversary a month ago (we're in Vancouver) and went back the day after. They also sell gorgeous fossils, along with letting you excavate your own. Omg.. Omg... OMG!! Today we had a guided tour of the lab. The SECCOND I looked inside the door I was speachless! Confronted by the world's second most complete tyrannosaurus rex (Victoria), the allosaurus, the... No.. I wont say anymore... Just go experience this!! These guys know their stuff! The guide will tell you things you never thought possible. Show you things you never thought you would be holding in your own hands!! Have you ever held a t-rex tooth, stegasaurus spikes from the tail, touched a sabertooth tiger skull? I have... I can hardly believe I'm saying that!! How on earth?!? Only here can this magic happen! We even got to sit in the lab and work on bones ourselves! I could go on forever but its just to much to write!!! Thankyou dinolabs for an experience we will hold in our hearts for the rest of our lives! Oh, and we will be back! Oh yes, we will be back!

A working dino laboratory, not a museum. You get to see and touch actual finds as the excavate it from it's encasement. They also have some lovely specimens to share and lots of knowledge. You then get to try your hand at using the tools of the trade to excavate a fossil. The gift store has some neat things and top notch collector items for sale!

So awesome! Spent the better part of our morning seeing fossils and bones in different states. All between completed to being freshly started. It felt like walking in a "behind the scenes" of a museum, but better as it was really hands on. Some really cool and unique pieces to check out. My husband and I really enjoyed our tour with our little one. We're definitely going to bring some friends and come back again. And again.

Just wrapped up my first tour with Dino Lab. What an unbelievable experience, exceeded my expectations in every way. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, fun to engage with, and the exhibits themselves were incredibly impressive. I have been to other dinosaur museums before and nothing compares to the hands on nature of the experience at Dino Lab. I cannot recommend this enough. And if you are visiting Victoria, or simply looking for something new to do, this is a must see attraction!

Went for my first time today and was blown away! They have incredible fossils and their knowledge is amazing! They follow amazing covid protocols so you feel safe but it doesn't take away from the experience at all and our tour guide was fantastic. I was able to work on fossils which was an incredible experience that I never thought possible. Will definitely be back and can't wait to see what else they bring in. This was the perfect addition to Victoria.

My friends came here today and absolutely loved it! They were even offered a private tour after a customer complained about them having Alberta license plates (even though we recently moved to BC). Kat offered them a private tour and they got to work on the fossils! I cant wait to come to this place and check it out myself!

Absolutely amazing...an experience you will have LITERALLY no where else in the world...forget the "Don't touch" signs...Terry and the staff encourage you to touch and experience dinosaurs like you never have before!!! Book a tour for yourself or your group, see the amazing museum and ACTUALLY unearth dinosaur bones from clay taken from dig sites. You are the 1st person EVER to see and touch these amazing treasures....honestly an amazing experience whether you like dinosaurs or not....BUCKET LIST STUFF!!!!

I love dinos so I dragged my two friends along with me to share the love, and we had so much fun and learned a lot! Our tour guide, K, was so passionate and professional. We had degrees in biology, so it was really cool being able to talk about things like speculating about dino behaviours, cause of death for certain dinos based on their fossils, and the function of certain body parts that are similar to parts we see in creatures today. She loved our questions and gave such thorough answers! They had so many real fossils, I'm surprised they aren't more known.

Amazing visit! My kids loved it, especially my 9 yr old aspiring scientist. Working on bones in lab coats with real tools was a highlight. Covid postponed our bday party for our 6 year old. Dino Lab went out of their way to make it special for him. They had a group show up in inflated Dino costumes and dance in front of our building. Immersive experience with a very personable staff . Katherine is incredibly knowledgeable and amplified the narrative and transported our group the prehistoric times. This place is at first sight closed quarters but comfortably close to REAL DINOSAURS & when you enter you will find the expanse of space and how open your mind will have you in a new world . This place amazingly curated for curiosity and absolutely a WORLD CLASS EXPERIENCE.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Dino Lab. It's amazing that we were able to go visit museum quality dinosaur bones without leaving town. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the specimens present with plenty of interesting facts. I highly recommend you check them out. Being able to touch some specimens was not expected, but very much appreciated. And getting a chance to practice extraction on some samples made my day!

What an awesome experience we had at Dino Lab! Matthew our guide was so dynamic and enthusiastic. He had a wealth of knowledge and kept us very interested, which is not always easy for a 5 year old. The covid restrictions in place were perfect and we felt safe the entire time with multiple sanitizer stations and physical distance the entire time! My son loved learning all the cool facts but was super amazed by being able to excavate some fossils. Fantastic experience all the way around! Thank you to the entire team!

Absolutely loved Dino Lab! We went for my niece's 7th birthday party and I was blown away by how interactive it was for the kids. They were holding and touching fossils that were millions of years old - and many of them quite rare. We went for the tour and got to touch real dinosaur skeletons! There was even a piece of very heavy real tusk(not petrified) from a mammoth that was preserved in northern permafrost which everyone was allowed to lift a little bit while our tour guide held it in his arms. Part of the tour includes doing some supervised work on real fossils! Our tour guide Jake was awesome!

After that, the employee called back and said that there is another group for a larger number of people, can we change the time, we replied that no problem, but only on this day, because the hotel was bucked, but on that day there was no other time for the tour. An hour later, they called back and said that they were making a refund, since we are from Vancouver and cannot travel due to the restrictions in Covid-19, although there was no talk of this before. This is definitely one of the coolest museum experiences I've ever gotten to do and you really only go into three rooms. The highly experienced and well versed staff show you a wide array of fossils stretching from several thousand to hundreds of millions of years old. I head a shark tooth in my hand that was 10+ million years old. I held a piece of a mammoth tusk that was several thousand years old and it weighed a ton! While I must imagine the stress level of letting people hold on to these fossils can get a bit high, it is amazing to be able to hold and inspect these fossils with your own two hands. They had a triceratops being exhumed in their main hangar and we got to touch a small section of it. Once all this is over, they take you into another room and they let you "excavate" a fossil piece with air brush tools. I was honestly very nervous doing it as I didn't want to ruin the actual fossil but some people were really enjoying it. It is definitely worth every penny and if you or your kids have any interest in this field, this is definitely the place to go!

Amazing experience!!! I am a secondary school biology teacher and have several students very keen on evolution and prehistoric life. I thought they needed exposure to a learning environment in addition to what I could give them, so I decided to take them to Dino Lab and it was so worth it! They were all blown away by the experience, even a few of them who have extensive knowledge on prehistoric animals as well as experience visiting other paleontology museums. A couple quotes: "This is better than the Tyrell Museum!" As they sat to the table to work on the fossils, "I think this is the best thing I have ever done." Our tour guide Owen was so great and clearly so engaged in the conversation with my students. He asked great guiding questions which the students were excited to hypothesize on. His interactions showed that he is, not only an awesome tour guide, but also a skilled teacher. Thank you so much Owen and everyone else at Dino Lab for such a great day!

Hidden gem. Took my 6 year old nephew and he loved it. Got to hold actual dinosaur bones. Never knew this place existed. It is on the pricey side but it was an amazing experience. Kay or “K” did a great job and keeping up with his 6 year old interests. My favourite was working in the lab at the end using a pen drill to drill out the bones. I would love to go back and just do that. It was so therapeutic and rewarding.

You can touch and feel these prehistoric bones...amazing At the end of the tour you get to go into the lab and actually work on fossils! The experience is fun, professional, and personal!
