Very fun experience and you get to see a separate side of Canada, other than Victoria. We took the ferry which is about a 90 minute ride and you see beautiful mountains and water during the trip. Once you get to Victoria there is a lot of history and plenty of things to see and do with numerous restaurants.

Our visit to this tourism centre was unhelpful to say the least. Monosyllabic answers to my queries from a disinterested young woman whose expressions told me that she thought me an idiot and that she was not interested in helping me or interested in her job. She also told me she knew nothing about ferry passages nor local bus information. The local people in the city had been more helpful than this young person who appeared to be more interested in the computer in front of her. As seasoned travellers on one of our first visits (out of three) to Victoria, shame on this young woman who should not be a doing a job she is profoundly disinterested in. I recently read that Mr Nursey had endorsed a 20 floor hotel on fort and blanshard. Terrible Idea! By no means does it fit that corner, take a look around. Another nail in the coffin for our quaint city! We dont want to be a mini Vancouver! Why he would endorse it is beyond me. People dont come to see that. The come to look at our quaint city . Just look at the main page of this website. I suggest DGV put this new hotel tower on this web page if he thinks it is so beautiful! I am sure it will attract one and all form all over!

We got discounted tickets here! Which is a great place because most of the time you can skip the lines and it's always nice to get all your tickets in one place to save money! It is just right around the corner from the fairies! And if you need to parking is just $0.25 for five minutes which is plenty of time for you to run in and get your tickets! And they also have a map to show up where to go and ideas of what to do!

The representative who helped us seemed board and uninterested. He didn't tell us about a festival that was going on in town. He made some circles on the map but didn't say much about any of the places. We left the tourist information not knowing much more than we knew when we entered. All we learned about the city and things to do here was through the guide of the Hippo tours.

Very professional center with the ability to make reservations for hotels, tours, walks, etc. Free maps of the city, lots of good advice of what to see, very patient, and a room full of brochures. The "ghostly walks tour" leaves from here. Great way to spend 90 min. More of a tour and description of the life, and death, back in the early days of the city with no attempt to scare anyone.

We like to stop at Visitor Information Centres to find out information about the area we're exploring. This centre has a nice layout and is large enough to have many racks and slots with plenty of local info. We found the exact info we were looking for because we like self-serve. There was a help desk with 3 or 4 staff helping travelers, but we already had the info we needed. Thanks for this great location .....

They are good, knowledgeable people here. You can not only find things to do, ask questions and get directions. You can also book tickets for things, buy tickets and get personal recommendations. This is is also the spot where Ghostly Walks begin and we always appreciate the added bonus of being able to point people towards the toilets. Underneath the building you will find a gift shop, a full service restaurant and you can book a whale watching tour as well. The great part is the location. From the viewing area you can take stunning pictures of the Empress Hotel, the Parliament buildings, the inner harbour itself or the historic steamship terminal. This really is a fantastic business in a fantastic location and all they really want to do is help you out and make sure your trip to Victoria is the best trip it can be. Don't' wander around aimlessly, get some help and enjoy everything Victoria has to offer, you won't regret it!

Geared to sending people on tours rather than passing out helpful information. Asked about going to Butchart Gardens and told of only two ways - tours. Our hotel told us of the city bus. Second time I asked question about ferry and was told I needed to walk over there and ask. I ended up finding a pamphlet with the information. Locals in Victoria were wonderful and much more helpful.
