Very best way to go around Halifax Downtown via street and water. Mike (Driver/ Navy guy) and Bettany (Tour guid) were really funny, warm and supportive. I strongly recommend it, doesn't matter if your stay at Halifax is short or long.
Good tour but more on the kids friendly side
Do this experience when you first get to Halifax . Gives you the layout and your bearings. Touches on some of the history and is an enjoyable ride through town. Must when on vacay in beautiful Halifax.
We had amazing experience. Learn a lot about Halifax and had fun at the same time.
Great tour! We were in a bus with a very few people but it was fun. Best way to get a quick tour of Halifax. Enjoyed the harbour cruise part as well. I would recommend this.
Stopped in Halifax briefly and took advantage of this tour provider. We had Maya as our guide and she was very passionate about the city and knew a lot of info. Certainly would recommend it.
Very good staffing. Good fun loving people. Made the tour enjoyable!
Lived here my whole life and have never been on, so took my 5yo and it was great. The staff was very polite and friendly when purchasing the tickets to the tour guide Carrie Anne. Super personable , would definitely recommend
Good
A great way to see Halifax on land and on the water
Fun, that is the main premise of this one. Last year we came to Halifax for our summer vacation. We visited a lot of different places, but when we saw the harbour hopper, we researched it and thought it was to expensive. Boys did we regret that decision. This year we went for it. Reasonably priced. It brings you all around the downtown core. It then brings you down to the water. We enjoyed it very much, and will be recommending it to everyone visiting from Moncton.
Had a great tour! Beth (I think her name was?) did a great job of explaining the city's history in an engaging way. Highly recommend the 11:45am tour, so you can be near the noon cannon on the citadel!
The Harbour Hopper tour is a good way to get a different perspective on Halifax, NS. The tour lasts an hour and covers Halifax from the Citidal to the harbour. You get a history of Halifax but be warned the engine is loud. The tour is well done. COVID protocals are followed but don't get in the way. All in all a fun time.
Fun ride, wish it was longer. Lots of interesting facts.
(Translated) Super city tour. Very entertaining comment. Everything very nice! Unfortunately the tour was changed because there was a US warship in the harbor. If you had known that the port would not be approached, we might have rethought the (expensive) tour ... (Original) Super Stadtrundfahrt. Sehr kurzweilige Kommentierung.
Insightful. Tour guides are interactive and know their city
It was a fun trip learned a lot too bad it was foggy!
Our family reunion ended with a memorable trip around Halifax with Harbour Hopper Tours. Brittany, our tour guide, shared historical information about Halifax and famous Haligonians (not Halifaxians,????), in an easy and entertaining style. I didn't get the name of our captain, but he was also of great humor. I highly recommend the experience, especially if you sit up front and get sprayed as the vehicle enters the harbor. We got soaked and we loved it. It was great!
We had a wonderful tour guide and it was nice to get to see the city from the harbour. Learned a lot about Halifax's history
Very informative tour , the tour guide she definitely knew her stuff 3 thumbs up to Maia ,
Amber was great
I work with intellectually challenged adults, she absolutely loved it, me too. Learned things about my own backyard I didn't know before.
Recommended for everyone! Even if you're from the city. It's an awesome way to learn about the history of Halifax and to see the waterfront while you learn.
Very interesting to learn the history of Halifax and drive around on the water. I am a PCW and I take my clients on this ride every year. They love it! No two tours are the same as each tour guide brings their own expertise and knowledge about Halifax.
Great way to get a quick tour of the city as well as a fun ride in the harbour.

A fun and informative experience...a bit pricey
The tour was great, the guide was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained at all times. Especial thanks to the Capitan that let me "hop" at the last minute!!!
My family and I went yesterday and had a blast. It was so much fun, and the tour guide Julia was excellent. Easy to understand and a nice mix of variety of history and talking points. I highly recommend it
Tour guides were awesome. Very informative and fun too.
Had an excellent trip with Abigail and Captain Mark. Very knowledgable and personable guides, smooth driving and even smoother sailing. The front seat can get pretty wet, but that just made it more fun for the kids!
So great! Can't possibly say enough great things about this tour! If you're lucky enough to get Beth as your tour guide you are in for a real treat! Such a great person and so funny!
Great tour!
Great tour. Very fun!!
If you are a person with a disabiliy I dont tbink its accessible to get on to.
Nice time
It's so loud that you can't hear the tour guide, the price on the site does not match the price that you pay, they charge tourists an extra $10 in fees.

Julia, our tour guide was excellent. Really enjoyed the tour and all the information. Would reccomend to anyone.
Great tour for friends and family this summer. A nice way to learn more about Halifax, tour guides and staff were very nice and helpful! Definitely recommend.
Saw it drive by and thought the tour would be kitschy and lame, but it was kitschy and awesome.
I’ve been to Halifax twice and taken the Harbour Hopper both times. It’s the best way to see the sights up the hill and along the water. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable with facts about Halifax. Riding in an amphibious vehicle was fun too! Highly recommend!
The tour was a great overview of Halifax with the added twist of being on and off shore. We and our kids had a great time.
It was fun its about an hour ride the guide give you the history as it goes through the city and water.
Every single member of our family has enjoyed it including the kids. That is by far the best way to get a quick overview of Halifax. Very informative and enjoyable hour that has been!
Fun!
(Translated) Top tour. Good description by the local guide. The combination between city and water is the highlight of the tour. From the water you have a very nice view of Halifax. The only disadvantage is that the tour is only commented on by the guide in English. Headphones and translation into multiple languages would be helpful. The ride in an amphibious vehicle is unique and fun. Highly recommended, especially for children. (Original) Top Tour.
Our group of 11 took this tour this morning and were all extremely pleased! Both our tour guide, Julia and Captain Rachel were extremely friendly, accommodating as well as knowledgeable! Would definitely recommend.
Fun hour of touring Halifax by land and water! Our tour guide was lovely, but it felt as though he had a script overloaded with facts that he was determined to get through, he spoke that quickly. We brought along my 92 year old mother whose own mother (our grandmother) was crossing on the ferry between Halifax and Dartmouth and witnessed first hand the Halifax explosion when she was a young teenager. We mentioned this to the guide who said "Really?" and went on with his rehearsed script. This personal and very relevant Halifax story would likely have been of interest to others on the tour and worth mentioning, but disappointingly the guide was not able or willing to do so.
We were just recently visiting Nova Scotia from Ontario on a east coast RV family vacation and this was a great way to see the core of Halifax and learn about it's history. Kids loved it.
A unique and interesting way to see the city by land and sea, while learning about the history! We went on this tour last year shortly after re-locating to Halifax. Our tour guide was super knowledgable and we learned a lot. Our visiting family who has gone on the tour as well has loved the experience!
Interesting to be able to see the city both by land and water. The info from both Captain Marc and tour guide-Abigail was very insightful. Abigail had a great sense of humor. It was overall a chill experience. Loved it.
Was an excellent way to get to see the city of Halifax and learn the history of the city. Highly recommended.
So much information and fun
Good
If you're in Halifax you HAVE to do this tour! Its a great way to see all the historic sites, buildings and tourist attractions that Halifax has to offer without all the walking. The tour vehicles are amphibious, meaning they drive around all the great tourist attractions on land and then go into the harbour and drive in the water to show the harbour area. Prices are reasonable, tours are about an hour and leave every 15 minutes and our guide was great, funny, knowledgeable and informative. Don't remember his name but he is a teacher.
The tour guide was funny and entertaining. We enjoyed the experience more than we expected.
Alex was our tour guide. Self proclaimed Canadian History high school teacher from Dartmouth. His charisma and love for his craft were evident. Engaging and hilarious. Our tour bus bus witnessed an accident and Alex remained calm and professional - the leadership and direction people needed after witnessing what seemed like real tragedy was very welcome and distracting. I would recommend this 55 mine tour to anyone visiting Halifax.
Good ride. Good hostess. Some fact checking required (specifically when discussing about being "pressed" into naval service, it was not a gold coin but rather a shilling that was found at the bottom of their beer mug. Second was the breakdown of the Canadian Naval fleet. The brief indicated that we had Tribal class destroyers ... untrue and haven't for a really long time. Our last destroyer class ship, HMCS IROQUOIS was decommissioned in May 2015. There were no comments about the new AOPS (arctic offshore patrol ship) ships that will be entering service soon and are located on and next to the Irving shipbuilding jet, as well as, the plan to build the Type 26 to replace our frigates in the future. There were a few other minor fact discrepancies not mentioned here. As for making the experience better, an awning for those waiting would be appreciated. A sign at the end of the lineup indicating which boarding time the line is for ... there were a number of people in the wrong line ups. A little more balanced time in/out water.
Worth it if it were $20, maybe less.
The special boat and ship shape cars ( as I call them ????) are interesting . They start from Halifax Harbor and they will continue their way to the city as a car , but with all of it I think 45.95 CAD$ for one hour is too much.
Really fun tour of downtown halifaix and the harbour. Hard to hear the guide on the bus
Great experience, guide did a good job.
I've never done a bus tour before and didn't really think it would be my thing but I had a lot of fun! It was a great way to see some attractions and get ideas of what I wanted to do next. It was also really fun transitioning to the water and seeing some of the waterfront and downtown from there. I do wish the part being on the water was a bit longer but overall we had a great time and I think it was worth the cost. It also helped that we had really nice weather. It was a super hot day but when you're on the bus it was actually quite breezy and nice.
Enjoyable and informative. Kids (4 & 7) enjoyed it. Guides were very knowledgeable about the area.
Honestly it was such a great time I just wish we would've had a better experience. My only real complaint is that the P.A. system wasnt working on the harbor hopper that day and the lady was using a horn to talk to the customers. I heard absolutely nothing over the sound of the motor (we were sitting almost in the back) ???? and was really looking forward to hearing about the history. So to spend over $100 in tickets was kind of painful when it was all said and done. The staff were great and apologetic about the issues that happened that day.
Was worthwhile. We had a great time! Was a tour around the city and then we went i to the ocean
Great tour on land and the harbour.
I'd always seen the HH driving about town and wondered why people would do something so touristy... But I did get a free ticket from a friend to go so thought I would give it a whirl. It was actually very educational, even for a Haligonian and I learnt a lot of things about the city I didn't know before (ie Brunswick street used to be called "knock 'em down alley", who knew? It was nice that it was both a water and land tour since it gives you perspective of the city from every angle. The tour guide was super enthusiastic and good at her job. She clearly knows a lot about the noisy and was wager to share, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone whether you're from Halifax or just visiting.
Very informative tour, and lots of fun!
Fun activity, I learned a lot about Halifax.
Went out today and had an excellent time. Abigail was a great guide and kept us laughing the entire time! Very informative and enjoyable, we'll be back again some day!
This was a great way to learn about Halifax and enjoy the scenery as you learn
Everyone visiting Halifax needs to go on this.they use an old Vietnam war amphibious vehicle for the tour and take you into the water with it. Great deal of fun
Great time with our grandkids and learned great deal about Halifax that I really should have known living in the city for as long as I have. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Captain Geoff made the experience for my two grandsons a memory they will probably have for many years to come. Living in HRM for many years always wanted to try the hopper and did so couple weeks ago. Highly recommended for a fun filled outing and learning of our wonderful city. KUDOS to the staff and thank you on behalf of our family.
Harbour Hopper Tours almost ruined our Maritimes vacation. We wasted an entire Sunday afternoon because of "mechanical issues" compounded by poor service and NO adequate contingency plan to help stranded customers. Pray they don't lie to you about having only 1 of their 3 bus/boats in service and ask you to wait another two hours for a tour, even if that's too late for you and your young family, and all other attractions are now closed. Their attitude is, take your money back, take our lousy alternative, or tough luck!!! Don't waste your money--you will learn a lot more by just walking around this great city and visiting the sights--the Maritime Museum, Pier 21, the Citadel, or by going into one of the great restaurants and speaking to locals, without this tour!!!!
Good
Great experience with Harbour Hopper! Easy to book online. The tour guides were very friendly, welcoming and entertaining. Would recommend to anyone travelling to Halifax for the first time to check it out!
Awesome!!!
This tour was on a vehicle that went on roads and into the water. It was exhilarating
Great commentary, quick overview of Halifax!
My kids (8 and 10) loved this experience. More for riding in the Harbour Hopper than for the tour! Our tour guide was wonderful. Very funny and gave great information about Halifax. We visited a few of the historic sites based on her recommendation. I would have liked even more stories of the city's history and the places that we went by. I think that for the experience there is good value for money and we would check out a similar experience in another location if available.
As fun as I’d always hoped I’m often in Halifax on business and have always wanted to ride this bus - finally got to do it. It’s really worth the price, full hour tour is full of education ( we did it on our first day in town then visited all the spots we saw after ) but not too long that kids get bored. Then there is the water part, it’s so cool, the kids loved it and it’s a totally different perspective on Halifax! Tour guides are great, easy to book online (paperless option!) and on a busy summer day I appreciated that they were prompt, strict with line enforcement and very professional.
I would recommend this tour! It is worth the cost of admission. Our tour guide Abigail was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour, making the tour of the city very fun!
Did this tour a few years ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope to do it again this summer.
Great quicktourof Halifax both on and off the water. Highly recommended if you want the quick low down to see some places you want to spend more time at later. Part of the Halifax experience.
I worked for the Harbour Hopper for one season. This was an amazing opportunity and I would highly suggest the tour for you and your family. Of course there are some obvious safety concerns but the staff is always very descriptive on the safety procedures for everybody’s benefit. Price is high, but the novelty of riding around in a LARC5 makes it entirely worth it. The tour is just under an hour which is a perfect time to see the entire city. Staff is always friendly and great. Make sure to get to the tour 30 mins early so you can get your seat of choice. Get Hoppin’!
Very disappointed in this company. My friends and I booked our harbour hopper for 1:00pm and arrived 15 minutes early prior to departure. When we arrived there wasn’t any seats left and we were redirected to the booth which only offered us a different time. The people working in the booth didn’t offer us to call their manager to fix the problem and only said they could offer us a different time. Not only did we spend the morning waiting to go on the tour we now have to change our schedule for the day in order to go on a different tour, not to mention this is our last day here in Halifax. Poor customer service.
It was great everyone should try it.
Awesome experience, very educated tour guide. Great driver.
I really enjoyed the tour, my favorite part was entering the water we went in fast which was actually thrilling, no one on the tour expected that. But it brought alot of smiles and laughter.
Hubby and I really enjoyed ourselves. Very informative and a really neat experience. I loved that it was a land and water tour.
Very fun, for all ages. Boat and land tour guide. Both captain and assistant very welcoming and nice, gave a history lesson going through halifax down town, it was roughly an hour tour. I would recommend to locals and tourists
We had such a fun experience!
4th time on this past year took our 80 year old nan with us awesome wonderful staff very welcoming thanks again
I love the Harbour Hopper. Best tour in HRM.
I'm a professional interpreter for a heritage site in Halifax. I had heard for years that the harbour hopper was a horribly inaccurate tourist trap. Wasn't I proven wrong! Myself and my party (all locals) had a blast. Abigail, our tour guide, was knowledgable, hilarious and an excellent presenter. She definately does not get paid enough. I hope her mom reads this review and shares it with Grandma. She's great! Ride was a little rocky, but what can you expect from a vehcile with no suspension?Could also use an awning for over top of their line. Gets pretty toasty waiting out in the summer sun.
Great little tour around the city, including a short dip in the Halifax Harbor. Wheelchair access available.
Great tour! Went in September it was chilly, take a blanket
(Translated) “City and harbor tour with amphibious vehicle” This tour offers a special experience - a city tour on land and water. So far so good. However, it is the case that the best places are right on the edge and the view from the places inside is significantly reduced. So my tip: get up early so that you can be one of the first to get on the vehicle and choose the right place. I would recommend a place in the middle of the vehicle or in the rear area, but it is particularly important to sit on the vehicle wall. You will then be driven through the city and a guide will make more or less funny comments and explanations of what you see. It is particularly exciting when you switch from land to water or back again. Our little son (3 years) really liked it. I was a little less excited. We would do it again to love our son. (Original) “Stadt- und Hafenrundfahrt mit Amphibienfahrzeug” Diese Tour bietet ein spezielles Erlebnis - eine Stadtbesichtigung zu Lande und zu Wasser. So weit so gut.
Very good
This was awesome! For adults and children
Thought it was far too expensive for a family.
Great was to get a quick tour of downtown and some awesome photos of the waterfront from the harbour.
Perhaps we are just not part of their target sales segment. Diving into the water is the only exciting moment of the entire tour. The official length of the tour is stated 55 mins yet end to end took 45 mins only. The whole thing is pretty gimmicky for me and my family.
The tour is only 55 minutes but you get to see both downtown and the harbour. This is a good way to enjoy Halifax. The tour provides basic but useful information about the city. If you want a detailed historic tour, maybe this one is not for you. But I really enjoyed it and ended my trip at the museum to learn more :)
Highly recommended! The tour was a perfect length, and highly entertaining (and informative). Our tour guide (Abigail) was hilarious, and we received excellent support getting on/off the vehicle (my wife uses a wheelchair, and I am unable to climb stairs) from staff (all of whom were incredibly friendly). In terms of accessibility, one of the tour vehicles (which we were on) can accommodate a single mobility device (and they have appropriate tie downs), and there is a manual lift.
Amazing tour to understand the historic downtown of Halifax
Ribbit, ribbit! Love this tour, and I am a local. I've taken it a few times and enjoy it every time. Love the point when the bus splashes into the water and becomes a boat. Made me think about how skilled the driver is. He must have his large passenger vehicle license as well as his commercial captain's license. I wanted to ask him at the end of the tour but he disappeared fast. I have since found out the Harbour Hopper captains have their Under 60 Ton Captain's License as well as a Class 2 Bus License. Impressive. Enjoyed the ramble of the extroverted actor/host but could have used a bit more quiet time to enjoy the views. They talk loudly and animatedly so if that isn't your thing, you could choose another tour, but I love this one. It is such a uniquely fun experience in Halifax.
We went as a family of 6 for my daughters birthday and enjoyed every minute of the tour. The tour guide was hilarious, the captin was witty with intense driving skills. Definitely recommend the Harbour Hopper.
Popular with tourists, this is a fun attraction. Great tour of the city and harbour together. A bit expensive, but it is aimed at tourists.
The tour was awesome!!
Nice tour of the city. Its worth it at least because of the history of Halifax... Nice to see the city from the water
Family of 6 with children ranging from 2-8. Had a lovely time. The staff were funny and friendly. We enjoyed the commentary. The your felt shorter then an hour (that's a good thing as we were enjoying the entire trip)
Great fun!
Very fun trip , if the weather had been better it would have been amazing, we all had fun.
We had a blast, well worth the money. Abigail was our awesome tour guide and we learned and laughed a lot :) We departed just after 7pm so got to see the sunset and nightlife just beginning in downtown Halifax. The lights over the harbour was breathtaking and unforgettable. Loved it.
Fun idea for even Halifax locals.
(Translated) Interesting tours of the port. There is a lot to learn about the history and port of Halifax. However, I recommend taking plenty of water with you, especially on warmer days, as the sun can sometimes burn down quite a bit.
Absolutely terrific experience
Awesome tour. The best one amongst the many I have done in my life. Abigail was an amazing tour guide and had a great sense of humor. She gave us many laughs and we learned about Halifax history. Truly recommend this tour.
Fun for the whole family! We learned about the history of Halifax and the city's ties to Harry Houdini, Boston, and enjoyed some great dad jokes from our tour guide!
Great way to tour the harbour and surrounding area!
Such a great experience with my husband and two young kids! Our tour guide and driver were fantastic as well. They were the "girl team" - female tour guide and captain. Wonderful sense of humour and a very smooth ride. Highly recommend!
Lots of fun and interesting Halifax facts!
Loved the tour and the tour guide was super knowledgeable and hilarious! I took the tour about 4 years and remember next to nothing but we plan on going again this summer!
We booked and prepaid for three spots 2 days ago for the 12:45 tour today , we paid for parking and arrived early at 12:15 we lined up for the hopper at that time told there was a problem and our tour was canceled ,"they have no back up plan ,poorly organized" and told they knew about the problem the day before and contacted everyone affected...."well I did not receive a phone call or text". There were other people there in the same boat "all of us not contacted " really waisted our day .... now the hopper is booked up for the next two days and we fly out Tuesday not impressed at all ! .. I was given a refund well told the money was put back on my card ...guess I have to wait and see . ...very poor customer service ...
FUNtastic tour!!! The tour was so much fun and informative that we didn’t even realize how fast the hour passed. Our driver and our tour guide kept us entertained by lively conversation and the information about the history of Halifax and so many historical buildings in centre of downtown.
Very interesting love the Tour
This ride has definitely made a remarkable one hour of my life. The amphibious vehicle was amazing. It have me the taste of mountains, heart of the city, and the ocean. The price of the tour seemed was above my expectations. Some of my teammates denied to take the ride due to high price.
Funny "boat" crew made the experience so much more enjoyable...the tour of the city and the harbour was very informative!
(Translated) Stars in summer hafa street (Original) 夏日哈法街头的明星
A great experience on the harbor hopper. First toured around the city then went to the water to get the water view.
Good value, a good summary for a tourist. Guide was funny and we enjoyed our time on the trip.
Amazing experience!!!????
Enjoyed the history of Halifax during the tour
(Translated) Tour itself okay. However, the "guide" spoke so quickly and muttered that it was extremely difficult to understand. Had booked for $ 10 extra charge the hop-on-hop-off tour for this day. Unfortunately, we were not informed that if no cruise ship is in the harbor, the tours are held every 10 minutes only once an hour. ???? Disappointing. Most of all, we waited 45 minutes for a bus to finally arrive.
Disappointed because when I google whale watch there name appears but unfortunately no whale watch tour provided by them
Very interesting tour, definitely worth it to go.
Such an amazing journey and adventure around the city ! Definitely worth the money to hop on into the city and water !
I don't care what you think. This tour was the most fun I've ever had in an amphibious vehicle, I saw a lot in an hour, and the guide was funny in a very genuine way. Halifax had already been fascinating, but this ride made my day while simultaneously making me look silly. So I guess both Halifax and I are the better for it...
Very enjoyable ride through Halifax and then converting to a boat was fantastic! It was great fun!
The best-looking Waterfront
Fun tourist-y activity to do in Halifax. The tour guide was super friendly and knowledgeable, she genuinely seemed to enjoy giving the tour. The water portion of the tour was the highlight for me!
Beautiful place
Had a blast great knowledgeable staff
It's nice to Harbour with your kids
Colin was best guide ever!
Really good to start off in halifax. It is not so cheap but it‘s not an everyday thinf. Crew was nice but they try to tell you really much in small time.
Safe and entertaining experi3nce. Host was engaging.
This was fun! A tour through the city center and the last 20-25 minutes on the water. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeble and I think he spoke the whole hour. We've learned some interesting facts about Halifax and it's history (citadel, great explosion, Titanic, Public gardens, clock tower). Too bad it was just an hour...
Not cheap but worth it! Great tour. It goes in the water at the end! Good way to get an overview of Halifax!
Good tour. I booked it 3 weeks ahead. Dismayed when I realised it was full of school kids. Luckily time was on my side, so I rebooked for a later departure. Thanks to some good advice from a member of staff, I went for the 11:45 one. This makes it to the citadel to coincide with the canon firing at 12:00. Sit on the left hand side to get the action. But not at the back.
So much fun! A great snippet of Halifax and its history. Julia was great and so was Garrett!
AMAZING!! So much fun and informative
Was very great to trip. Its worth it and my guide Kristina did her best!
We had a blast. The tour is pretty informative and fun
Super cool people, really enjoyed their story telling.
Very good
Such a great tour! Really enjoyed the tour guide and learning about the beautiful city! It gets busy so book your tickets in advance!
Went there when I was 3 and then when I was 13 still the best tour of the city compared to other options for the price along with the history of the equipment and the sights along with all of the information provided for the price
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and it was a great way to experience Halifax both on land and on the water!
This one hour your is a perfect balance of a land and sea your covering all the important current and historical information together with a bit of humor. Well worth it.
Amazing experience in Halifax. Absolutely enjoyed. Highly recommend!!
So much fun on this tour! A land and sea tour all in one! Tour guide was very witty and funny.
Excellent visit
The tour guide Katherine is AMAZING personally probably the best tour guide I 10/10 recommend her. She is so funny and gives amazing tours :)
Our tour guide was a young college student who was amazing and funny and totally made our trip worth while
Best part is when it goes down .. kids enjoy the trip and it is nice extra summer activity.
Captain Rachel and Tour Guide Dan made the tour awesome(and humorous)! I've lived here almost my whole life and still learned quite a few new facts! Great job guys!
This was fun. But!! Parking was a hassle, as it only takes credit cards, not debit/credit and when you pay for the full day eate (supposed to be 24hrs), you only get until 7:30pm. We purchased the hop'on, hop-off with our ticket, but found out when we got there that that finishrs at 4pm. Our hopper experience ended at 3:30, so watvh yhat when you are booking. The toyr itself was fun! Maiyia (spelling?) Was awesome. A lot of fun. I would do it again!
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. 10/10 would recommend
our large tour group was double booked and was postponed. while other smaller families were told they have to wait an extra 15 minutes. not cool when your on a tight timeline
It was a fun trip .
Relax ride with staff explaining history of the town and going into the water was exciting ~
The Harbour Hopper was a great tour! It was nice having a narrator on the tour. They talked about the big exposing etc... It would have been nice learning a bit before the trip so that we could enjoy it a little more. They were talking the whole time and it was quite loud. I enjoyed it still so I'm hitting 5 stars.
Impressive tour of Halifax and it's harbour, on land and on water. Knowledgeable staff.
A bit expensive for 55 minutes. Had trouble hearing our guide at some points due to the older sound system. Otherwise tour was enjoyable and informative. Nice way to see the city built on a hill.
Typical duck boat tour.
Very interesting tour. Definitely recommend.
Fun way to catch the main sights of Halifax. Would probably recommend starting with this as the tour gives you a good overview of the city and sights to see.
Fun and informative.
An interesting hour tour of Halifax history.
Oh my, so much fun. We went as a small group despite the rain, as we wanted to see an overview of the city and check out the harbor. They have an awesome team of staff; right from the booking staff to, the tour guide, to the driver - all were very friendly and helpful. Such a neat experience to be able to go from land to water in the same vehicle. Definitely a must do when visiting Halifax!
Very enjoyable tour.
Must experience this amphibious vehicle!
This was the most informative and fun hour I've had in a long time. The tour guide and driver were fun fun fun..... Thank you
Excellent tour. Great tour guide. It's a lot of fun, I recommend it.
We started our week stay with this tour which has been recommended by people we know, and online review sites. The tour guide seemed very knowledgeable, and this tour gave us insight into many things to do during our stay. The only downside is that the vehicle was quite loud, and it was difficult to hear sometimes. Otherwise, great tour, and awesome vehicle!
Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff! Great tour and fun!
Awesome tour we have done it twice 15 yrs apart and still my favourite. Tour guides were fantastic and were very informative. Our kids enjoyed the tour.
Amazing for all so informative
Excellent tour of the city. Learn about lots of history. Tour guide was amazing and so was the time on the water. Highly recommend if you are visiting Halifax.
Best port visit in the Americas so far.
Great way to learn a bit about the local shops and what's in Halifax.
Great Tour. And very informative for a tour that lasts less than an hour. Both the guide & our driver were very knowledgable & entertaining.
This was a great part of our trip. Abigail was fantastic. She was funny, entertaining and very knowledgeable. The captain was great too. Our daughter (8yrs old) also loved it. Especially when we went from land to water. Thank you for a great tour!
Wonderful experience. The guide and driver is what makes or breaks something like this. Abigail and Alex really hit it out of the park and made this an incredible experience. Well worth the price for me and a date. The price is iffy in some cases though. I'd caution anyone going with children. They'd probably enjoy it but they'd also enjoy cheaper options by the water front as much.
Took the tour on a whim and glad we did. The tour guide was super informative and gave lots of info about the points of interest in halifax. Don't let the cost stop you from doing this tour its totally worth it.
Great experience. Knowledgeable guide and good route.
Ready fun and definitely a great way to see the city and learn about it.
Everyone should do it once!
Lots of good information, the ride was interesting. Always nice to watch children's reaction when the craft splashes into the harbor. Bethany was very informative and professional.
Extremely fun experience!
It was so much fun to ride a hopper. The guide explained what we saw during the tour.
Every year when we head out east to visit my husbands family we make a point of taking time to take the Harbour Hopper. We love taking that time to see the sights and really enjoy the tour. It does get chilly in the earlier evening but it’s still so worth it. You really do learn so much of Halifax history. Definitely recommend it. The drivers and tour guides are always amazing!
So much fun. Amusing and educational. Good length of time for the $.
Unique way to explore Halifax!
Memories
(Translated) Excellent tour! (Original) Excellent tour!
I loved it
Fun family experience!
Driver decided to shorten trip when weather turned bad. Guide announced full refunds, but management refused to honor.
Good quick tour of the area that gives you a brief Coles notes of the areas highlights.
The 7-day Tour East Bus trip that I'm traveling on stopped here; we have 50 tourists in our group. The $222.50 attractions package includes access to the Whale Watching Boat Tour, Thousand Island Boat Tour, Hopewell Rocks, Maritime Museum, etc., of which this attraction is one of the experiences. The 1 hour Harbour Hopper Tour is the current attraction. Lots of Halifax history presented by the Captain and First Mate. It's a worthwhile land and waterfront experience on a "$1 Million amphibious vehicle". This company bought 5 of the 900 United States military vehicles built for the Vietnam War and retrofitted them as a tourist experience. Historical Canada ????????
Loved it
The tour went really well even though we had slight trouble at the end but they refunded us the full money back. The driver and the tour guide were awesome. Highly recommended it if you're not local.
Lots of Halifax history. Fun time.
Capt. Cyril and guide Jane made harbour-hopping one of the best activities we took part in during our visit to Halifax. The tour gave us lots of ideas for places to see around Halifax and acquainted us with little-known facts about donairs and the City's history! Well worth the time and price. Thank you.
Beautiful sights accompanied by a great tour guide
Was a great tour till we hit the water..... ended up drifting into the casino and smashing part of the tarp off and bent/broke the aluminum frame above all our heads . Clearly couldn't get the thing in gear but gave no warning we were going to hit , once hitting he got it started and continued to try and ram his way out but we were stuck in between 2 columns , instead of stopping and assessing the damage continued to ram back and fourth in between 3 times smashing into the concrete bending and breaking the parts above our heads and only a couple feet away from passengers heads who were sitting up top luckily no one got hurt but to operate the vehical and smashing it back and forth without even looking back once is absolutely absurd, clearly not trained in situations like this and the company should make sure they train there employees in situations like this and should halt all operations till they do so because this could have been way worse then it was but after the smash show kept on with the tour without even stopping to access the damage or ask if people wanted to stop the tour but the guide did ask if everyone was ok but we wanted to stop the tour but it did not end.
Lots of fun; interesting way to see Halifax without worrying about traffic. Loved going in water!
A Halifax must do, really fun and informative tour of the city.
It was cold out and rainy but we had a blast. Great tour guides and drivers
What a great tour, we loved it!
Good, but so cold
Fantastic hour long tour with tons of history and a great cruise IN the harbour! Bethany , our guide did an amazing job !! Highly recommend A+++
Interesting and academically relevant historical tour of Halifax. The staff are friendly and accommodating . I tipped driver and tour guide each $20. Well deserved.
Fun tour to take when in Halifax. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny. I learnt a lot about the history of Halifax. My favourite part was when the vehicle goes into the water, saw a seal.
Great tour! We usually do our own thing but we're really glad we took this one. Our guide (a New Zealand fella) was great. Funny, informative, and he did a good job covering everything without being boring. Halifax has a lot of history and I can't think of a better way to learn about it. Bonus points for the amphibious bus being a really neat piece of history on it's own!
We had a good time at the Harbour Queen party boat last night! Staff were all accommodating and the music was good.
Loved the tour! Such a great way to see Halifax!!
Great 1 hour tour of the Halifax harbour and some of the highlights of downtown.
Took my wife and MIL on the tour. Good times to show them where I grew up
Cary Ann and mark were great.
We did the Harbour Hopper at 730pm and I honestly didnt think I would get my moneys worth as it starts to get dark. I was completely wrong!!! The tour guide Dave was amazing, funny, and knew his information! Would highly recommend if he is the tour guide
Very informative
Touristy of course but reasonably priced, and it's a well thought out tour. Hitting the harbour Ave cruising around was great but even the city driving section was entertaining. Glad we did this tour on our visit.
Not only did they cancel our trip at the last minute when we showed up, the girl that informed us said she would "send an email request for our refund". Well, that never happened. Thanks jerk. So not only do I have to pay extra international fees from my bank, I now also have to pay extra fees on my phone to call them and demand my refund that they never processed. I am extremely unhappy with the poor service received and having to pay for a trip I never got to take. Customer service was terrible.
First time in halifax and learned a lot from the tour and got to know the layout. Came back the next day to explore further.
Good ol' fashion family fun. Quality times and friendly staff.
Really enjoyed our experience will definitely suggest this to friends and family. Loved the energy of the young girl on the tour made learning about Halifax very enjoyable.
Very informative and great sightseeing of the city.
Very nice tour guides and lots of fun for the kids
It is an amphibious vehicle. It moves over the land and sea. It brought us to all of the stops we wanted to see in downtown Halifax as well as part of the harbor. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the city. Her commentary was very informative. She was so friendly. While having dinner at one of the outdoor restaurants within the harbor area, at the end of the tour, then someone came by and said hello. I looked up to see that it was our guide. I was very impressed.
Awesome way to tour Halifax by land and sea.
(Translated) It is worthwhile to participate in this tour group. Not only can you browse the important street spots of the city, but you can also experience the waterway dual-purpose car. It is even more rare to see the entire harbor scenery and important buildings from the sea point of view. In particular, you can view several famous buildings and observe how their bodies are constructed in the sea.
My Husband and I visited Nove Scotia for our honeymoon, and we thought the Harbour Hopper would be the best way to see the city, it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, and funny. For someone not really into history, the tour guide made it all very interesting. I would definitely go on it again, and reccomend it to anyone visiting Halifax.
AWESOME,highly recommend for everyone
Fun and silly way to get around the city of Halifax in about an hour and see a number of sites and get a good dose of history and laughs along the way. It reminded me of the duck boats in Boston but the water part of the tour was much better than Boston.
Looks like fun. We weren't able to book a ride, hopefully this summer.
Wife and I decided to take a tour with the Harbour Hopper one summer. I don't know why we didn't do it sooner. I live around here but, having a tour of the city and getting to see some stuff I ordinarily don't get to, it was awesome. Our guide was funny and kept everyone focused and engaged. It was kinda 'touristy', but it was worth it. Even more worth it was the look on peoples faces (in the hopper) as the hopper went into the harbour!
This was so much fun ! My son and I was here today and we could not believe how great it was ! Really loved our tour guide , she was awesome ! Will definitely return again ! Good value for the money.
Awesome tour.
Such a great time on the harbour today. Tour guide was amazing. So funny and made the "script" seem very unscripted. Took my mom and 5 year old nieces and they loved every minute. Also brought the Nikon for some awesome photos. If ya haven't done it because you weren't sure if it's worth the money, it's worth every penny! Take the family out today!!!
Loved the tour. So did my kids. Was a great way to see Halifax and learn some interesting history from the guides. 100% recommend.
Got over charged and had to deal with horrible customer service. Instead of being charged a family rate, we ended up.paying as 2 adults and 2 kids resulting in paying $25 more. The tour guide noticed it and suggested we talk to the store. As it was purchased through a 3rd party tour operator it was not straight forward, but they were rude and gave Manny different versions of the story on why it is more expensive. Their USD exchange rate isuch lower than the posted so it make sense we paid more; check our bank statements etc. Even when it is clear that none of it was correct. Then they passed on the buck and told us to go to the main gift shop to talk to the supervisor who then pass it onto the next person. They made no attempts to make the situation better and ended up wasting a lot of our time. In the amount of time they spent doing nothing they could have actually followed up to see what is going on. They have not gotten any information from me either. I am very displeased and it ruined impression of Halifax.
Despite the fact that it was raining when we did the tour, it was a great time. The tour guide was very amusing and informative.
a lil pricey but very good, get there early!
Great guide, learned lots about the history of downtown Halifax
Fun
Great tour! Great story telling! Worth every dollar!
fantastic!!!!@@ my children were very exciting and me
Great tour with Bethany and Captain Jeff! We got to even see a seal! Kids loved dropping in the water.
What a great experience. Or tire guide was awesome. She was required Canadian Navy. Very knowledgeable. There was so much to see. High recommend taking the time is your are not able to walk around the city.
Enjoyable and informative. Kids (4 & 7) enjoyed it. Guides were very knowledgeable about the area.
Fun and interesting way to sightsee Halifax. Our guide was fun and entertaining
We enjoyed a great tour on their amphibious craft. A little tour around the harbour area, up to the top of Citadel Hill, and out on the water in the harbour. The young man narrating the tour had a good grasp of local history and a good sense of humour.
while visiting family in Halifax last week we did this tour 8 of us,would recommend it to anyone,it was an awesome tour, and guess what the beautiful tour guide was from Newfoundland and so was the skipper/operator
Even if you are a halagonian please go on you will learn a lot about the city
Great ride highly informative
It was a fun time. First time on the hopper and I have lived in Halifax all my life. Julie was funny and the kids and wife enjoyed it. Great to brush up on my local history.
The two employees that were on the hopper with us were very pleasant and told us a lot of information about the city.
absolutely amazing
This is a must do! The Hopper is unique and lots of fun. The tour gives a great basic history tour in an entertaining way. This was my fourth or fifth time. Whenever we have company from away we do the Hopper.
Lots of fun. Very entertaining and educational
Maya, Captain Rachel, and Bethany were amazing. I took the tour with my client who is in a wheelchair and they were so welcoming and accommodating. The staff were courteous, considerate and incredibly kind . Words cannot express my gratitude for making his experience so wonderful. Thank you so much!
Great trip
It was the first time that we went on the Harbour Hopper and it was really fun and we learned some new things about Citadel Hill that we didn't know
(Translated) A must for every Halifax visitor (Original) Ein muss für jeden Halifax Besucher
I was on a tour a year ago and I found some of their history was a little off also I was disappointed the route that was taken for the price they charged.I don't recommend this sorry
Great entertainment
Great way to see the city.
(Translated) The guide was very dynamic and put a little sunshine during the rainy day ... There was a group of children at the same time as us, I appreciated that he let us in first to choose our seat. (Original) Le guide était très dynamique et a mis un peu de soleil durant la journée pluvieuse... Il y avait un groupe d'enfants en même temps que nous, j'ai apprécié qu'il nous laisse entrer en premier pour choisir notre siège.
Fun and interesting
Great and creative way to see a bit of Halifax! :) Kudos to our driver/captain Colin for getting us through those streets on such a big vehicle, and to Isaac for his fun and engaging guiding. Both were great and made everything absolutely fun and funny! The Hopper is for all ages. It's about an hour long, so if you have wee ones or can't sit for long, it's perfect - not too short, not too long. Be sure to reserve in advance - rides were always quickly booked up. It's best to book a day in advance if you want your choice of departure time.
Do this before you start your vacation, with every dollar!
Tour was great! Learned all the key facts of Halifax history in an hour long tour on land and water! Tour guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeble, easy to listen to with a good sense of humour to boot. Would recommend to anyone!
(Translated) Very interesting amphibious vehicles, land vehicles, surface boats, better sightseeing Halifax! (Original) 很有趣的水陆两用交通工具,陆地车、水面船,更好地观光哈里发克斯!
What a splash! We loved our tour! It was very informative and was a great way to see the city and the Tall Ships up close.
Great tours showing the sights around town as well as around the harbour.
Great views !
Really fun, enjoyable ride. Great way to see Halifax and harbour. Very informative.
