I had the best experience here out of any insurance broker I've ever been to, and it was all thanks to Tammi Proulx. I had previously taken my paperwork to Westland Insurance to register and insure an out of province vehicle, where they told me my supporting documents weren't good enough. Tammi made it happen for me the following morning at BCAA with those same documents. She went above and beyond, no questions asked and with a smile on her face the whole time. *** would be nice to call and get a human ***** when you get one Update 2016-10-31: I reduced this one more star. I've called and once again left a message. Maybe a human will one day call me back. Maybe not. Tomorrow I reduce to one star. You revamped the layout to make the location cold and impersonal. There is a woman standing attention at the front that only has something to do when a person walks in the door. Why can she not answer the calls and the machine be utilized as a backup?

Don't be surprised if you drop in and want to complete a quick transaction and find that there are 5 people ahead of you - they're popular in the insurance business. Brutal, Staff should be ashamed... I needed to renew my trailer insurance, I was met at the door with a cold "Do you have an appointment" not welcomed in. Sorry we go by appointments only. We are booked 2 weeks out! WOW... I drove down to walmart and it took longer to drive there than sussex took to renew my insurance! I wont be back

Terrible communication. No way to speak to anyone locally and the 1-800 phone system had me on hold for 25 minutes before I hung up and went to Sussex Insurance where I had little wait time and friendly helpful face to face service. I will not be going back to BCAA for my future Insurance needs.

I called BCAA to get my car battery boosted. Nate showed up shortly after and helped me boost my car. I mentioned to him an ongoing issue I’ve had with my car since I purchased it used. Very disappointed. I have been a customer for over 20 years. I went in this week to finish the last part of importing a trailer from the US. All of the required paperwork had been provided and the trailer seen during a previous visit so it was a matter of showing the last form and getting a plate. I was met by the greeter that I would need to come back later in the day or on another day as it would hold up the line. I could understand if there was a line up of people in the waiting area but I was the ONLY customer in the place, and there were two agents sitting at their desks with no one in front of them. I was told that I could not be served because it would take at least an hour. (I had tried to call earlier that morning but no one ever answers the phone.) This trailer is required for business use so I went to another Insurance company. The entire process which included me getting a temporary plate, driving home, hooking up the trailer and going back to have it seen, registered and plated took less than 45 minutes and they started all of the paperwork from scratch. I will be moving all of my insurance policies (6 ICBC, Home, and travel)to the other broker so that your waiting area can remain empty.

Our Car broke down outside of Osoyoos B.C yesterday Lucky we had Our BCAA Membership a really awesome man named Rodger towed us to town got my car to the mechanic of our choosing and even drove us to our Hotel !!! and when i forgot my laptop at my Car even drove me back To get it and then Back to the hotel again ! To say our experience was horrible is an understatement. Not only were we told it would be 18 days before our clutch could be replaced (on what was supposed to be 1 night in Penticton), they continously said they would call us with updates, and never did; didn't record our payment for the part; were rude, unprofessional and extremely expensive. ($2,400 for clutch and 'grommet'). We were charged a $125 to tell us the clutch needed replacement (which we already knew); and this $125 diagnostic missed the 'grommet' problem, further extending our stay. I’m not sure if we are more offended and disturbed about the lack of professionalism or the dismal customer service. We were repeatedly told the delay was due mostly to lack of staff. The planning of staff vacation and/or vacancies should never impact the service a customer receives. We will continue using BCAA for what it does best – a call centre to arrange a tow service from another company and will continue to share our negative experience. Karen and David Jensen

With hours being reduced and their policy of only allowing one person per bubble into the premises at a time, I am afraid I took my business to another insurance broker. My wife made an appointment only to be told that either she or I would be admitted at a time. Since we are a 'bubble' and we observe COVID provincial health regulations, the one person policy for a family doesn't make any sense -- especially, in an office the size of this one. Sorry, BCAA, you blew it.

BCAA is a great example of a business that is making things more difficult in these trying times. I hope the public will recognize this and find other places to do the business they would normally do with BCAA. I got an email from them a few days ago reminding me my car insurance was up for renewal and best to do it by phone with them. If I had to by appointment in person was an alternative and they were open 10-4. So spend an hour and 10 minutes on hold to finally get a person but at that point my lunch break is over and I can't renew my insurance while I'm working..... I work 9 to 5. Even if I did manage to get it done over the phone I would still have to wait for the sticker to get mailed to me. Long story short I went somewhere else that had better hours where I could renew after 5pm and walkin in person get the business done and have my sticker in 1/2 hour. I've been a BCAA gold member for well over a decade now but I think all of my business with BCAA will come to and end this year. Support businesses that support you in these challenging times and the ones that don't will hopefully just fade away.

Me and my fiancée are new to Prince George and went to get auto insurance for her car. Not only was Bruce, the associate we were directed toward unable to explain his own policies and process properly, he was incredibly rude and tried to talk down to us because we had questions. I was also planning on getting my auto insurance with them but after this experience me and my fiancée will be taking our business elsewhere, and I will be telling anyone who is thinking about getting insurance with them to take their business elsewhere. This is a shame as CAA has a decent reputation, and the entire experience has left a sour taste in our mouths, all because of one incredibly inconsiderate and unhelpful associate named Bruce.

Rating of “0” for no service provided despite Premier membership. Called at 2pm for a tow due to vehicle mechanical failure. Was told 5pm for a tow. Then was called back and tow was cancelled and no new time offered. Was told it was “too cold” and no more tows available today. It’s -22C and this is Prince George (expected January temp). About the worst service excuse ever. I have paid thousands of dollars for membership over the years and the one time I need service I’m told I’m totally out of luck. Extreme waste of time and money. DON’T BOTHER PAYING FOR A MEMBERSHIP THAT ISN’TWORTH ANYTHING.

I had a very positive experience all around here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the repairs were done well and the price was as quoted even though it took them longer than anticipated to get it all done through no fault of theirs. I never felt pressured into any unnecessary repairs and was kept in the loop directly from the mechanic servicing my car. I was told 30 minutes butwaited 1.5hours. Apparently the truck got directed to another call. The rep was great and the tow truck driver was great but not happy about the wait time. I live in Penticton and there is no reason for 1.5 hour wait. The truck should not have been directed elsewhere. The website was down as well. That maybe because the original truck was directed elsewhere. Not sure no one could answer why it was directed somewhere else.they should have called me. Thank you

This office seems to be permanently closed now. There were No replies to 3 messages to schedule appointment to pick up some maps. Others had the same issue. Although there was one person working in the office, they didn’t answer the door for a line of people. I am sorry to see they have shut down. I am questioning renewing my membership-they seem to be shutting down. what happens if I have a roadside emergency?

I have been a BCAA member for over 40 years and have always been very pleased with the services and treatment by personnel. NOT NOW!!! Recently, planning on purchasing a new car, I called the BCAA office 3 times trying to get hold of someone who could help me change the insurance over from my old vehicle that I was trading in. With NO appropriate prerecorded response and no way to contact a live operator, I finally left 2 messages with my return phone number (as requested by the prerecorded response), BUT received no response in 3 days!!. Finally, after picking up my new vehicle, I went directly to the BCAA office. The greeting I received was one of my rudest I have ever received--- even after presenting my premier BCAA card that indicated that I had been a major since 1977. When I finally got to the counter (they were not very busy), I again was treated very rudely --- it was like no one liked their jobs and wished that they were somewhere else!! I would strongly recommend that, if at all possible, you find a different agency from which to purchase your auto insurance. PS There did not appear to be a manager working. Perhaps if they did the employees would be more interested in their jobs and more courteous to friendly to their customers.
