Had a wonderful day out on the river fishing! Our guide, Dave, was incredibly knowledgeable and was great at instructing us and being patient with us as we may have tried to hook a fish to soon. Almost everyone on the boat caught something and we were even able to tag two Sturgeon so they can be tracked to aid in Sturgeon conservation. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Early Sunday morning fishing with Landon. In the lead up, the office made sure we had all of our permits. We grabbed some sandwiches for lunch before hitting the river. Once in the boat, he quickly covered safety and then the day started. We caught almost 100' of fish including a 6'5" and a 6'7" Sturgeon by 2pm. The boat has chest-waders for those epic photos. Don't expect to do anything the next day because your arms will be sore from reeling and you'll be useless. Excellent activity for corporate team building.

I went on a charter with my father and uncle a few weeks back, and I can undoubtedly say that this experience was one of the greatest I've ever had. The knowledge shown by our guide, Dean, was inspiring. His passion for his company and the sturgeon in the Fraser River was palpable. He took time to show us certain safety precautions before heading out, and followed that with a discussion of certain historical aspects, including First Nations history, that defined the river's traditions. During the trip itself, we brought in two 4.5', two 8', and a 9' sturgeon. Dean let us fight the fish, but provided plenty of guidance to help us successfully land them. His excitement added to the fun, and he took time to tag and document each fish for coservation purposes. Ultimately, the trip was great. This was one of the best father's day weekends I can remember, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Thanks guys!

Great experience! Couldn't have ever asked for more. Guide (Landon) was knowledgeable hands on and attentive. Just his skills driving the boat while we landed a very large sturgeon was worth the price of admission. The company offered a lunch and I would recommend anyone going to partake in it. It was a cooler filled to the brim with things you would actually enjoy eating and enough of it that you would never go hungry relying only on it. I will not only recommend this company and trip to my friends but I will also be a reoccurring customer. Thanks for the great trip!

We had a fantastic experience this weekend with Great River Fishing Adventures on the Fraser River, near Mission, BC. Our guide Istvan was exceptional and has an extensive knowledge of everything fish – conditions, locations, bait, care and handling – the whole deal. This is a guy who is fishing 200 days of the year and when not guiding for work is (you guessed it) out fishing! What set this guided trip apart from others is the expertise that our guide was willing to share, the deep respect he holds for the fish and the local waters, and his genuine enthusiasm for ensuring that we had a GREAT time on the river. My partner and I were his only charges and while the day started out relatively slow, by noon the hits were coming. We landed 3 sturgeon, one being a 71” beauty. Istvan guided us and the fish into shallow water for photos that will help us remember our trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend the trip and our guide.

Purchased a Living Social deal to go "salmon fishing" which was one of the offers but when I went to make the reservation, I was told they cannot take me salmon fishing because the salmon are not running at that time yet their website says that is "peak season".

Had an amazing first time fishing Sturgeon with the Big Man him self “Deano” at Great River Fishing. He’s a true entertainer and excellent guide. Never a boring moment even when we wait (for a short bit) for the dinosaurs to bid. His guidence with a Fish on the hook helped up land our boats crew all the largest fish we have all caught. The detailed and tailored guiding Dean showed made for a very Personal experience. Nothing wrong with catching 15+ sturgeon and 4 over 6 feet long. Wow - where to begin!!! Yesterday I was part of a group of 4 fishing for Sturgeon on the Fraser River guided by Dean and what an experience of a life time. Dean's knowledge, professional demeanor and hospitality was absolutely TOP CLASS!!! Both Dean and Alyssa kept our interest and fishing experience lively the entire day. Dean guided our group to successfully catching and landing 9 Sturgeon, including one over 10 feet long weighing approximately 650 lbs!!! Great time on the Frasier Guide did his best to put us on fish. Caught one pretty early in the half day (4ft) and one right at the buzzer (5'9") so we both got to fight the biggest fish we've ever caught. Saw a bunch jump around us throughout the day but from the others we were in contact on the radio sounded like a slower day for most. Will be back again as I want to land a true monster! Only reason to knock off a star is the booking process was slow to respond but almost got back up to 5 stars the moment I set the hook!

Spent an amazing day out on the water with Dean, it was our first fresh water fishing experience and boy was it a good one! Deans knowledge of the river, the fish and the process of tagging and documenting each catch was very impressive, really adding to the whole experience. Reeling in the big one was made more manageable with expert advice on how to do it safely and without causing harm to the fish. It certainly wasn't easy though! We couldn't have asked for a cleaner, friendlier and more professional outfit, or for more spectacular scenery. Can't recommend Great River fishing Adventures highly enough. Just remember to leave the bananas on shore...

Wonderful company with excellent guide. We had Istvan as our guide, he was very efficient and quick on the fishing, he waste no time on setting the hook and the rods. We had 4 people on the boat, everyone had their chances fighting the sturgeon to bring it in. In 4 hours we hooked up 8 sturgeons with various of sizes, most of them are between 4 to 6 feet. Awesome day and awesome guide.

Called and emailed many times with no response. Had to get on groupon to get them to get in touch with me. Once in contact they were extremely slow to respond. Had to get groupon to contact them again only to get sparatic contact. Very unprofessional. Luckily groupon refunded my money, would not recommend great river fishing to anyone.

Mitch and the rest of the great river fishing team did an amazing job. Mitch was very knowledgeable, and you could tell he cared a lot for the river and the fish we were pulling out. Went sturgeon fishing on May 28 with Chad. What an adventure. We were a group of five on a very wet, cool day. Chad made sure we enjoyed ourselves. He moved the boat around regularly, made sure we were dry and comfortable and kept up a great conversation regarding the sturgeon fishery. I recommend this trip to anyone interested in spending quality time on the Fraser, a beautiful location, and learning about sturgeon. In addition, we caught fish!! I have been able to go fishing with great river on a few occasions. Salmon, steelhead and sturgeon. I don't like being around the big groups of weekend fisherman while hunting for salmon and steelhead. Steve "Murky water" from great river was able to hike me into some secluded spots, with perfect steelhead runs, getting me on fish right away. Which is pretty amazing seeing as though hardly any one was getting hooked up during the week I was there. During salmon season Steve managed to get me into many coho away from the big groups of people as well. He knows the area like the back of his hand. On another trip I had Steve again as a guide, but this time for sturgeon. He took me to a spot with no boats around and we started getting hooked up right away. Slowly all the boats started surrounding us, until there were 6 boats within 200m in all directions. Unfortunately for them Steve must of had the bait of choice. The others didn't hook up at all around us, but we managed to get 10, all between 3.5-6.5 ft. Steve was very knowledgeable on all species and displayed a true passion for the fisheries. Great river definitely has the best guiding service, the customer service, hospitality, knowledge, and the willingness to go the extra yard to make the customer have an experience of a lifetime on every trip, sets them apart from other services. So a big thank you to Steve And great river for the amazing memories. I'm looking forward to the next trip.

On a Thursday morning on April 13th I went out on a fishing trip with Dean Werk up into the Fraser Canyon. Was an absolutley beautiful and amazing day. Lots of fish caught.. Seen awesome histroic artifacts and spent the day with a guy who knows and reapects his fish and his local waters!. Couldnt of asked for a better day and wouldnt of spent it with anyone else. Our 15th fishing trip with Dean Werk and Great River Fishing Adventures at Chilliwack, British Columbia was outstanding. Then, again, EVERY trip with Great River Fishing is outstanding! This time, we fished July 26th, 27th and 28th to coincide with my husband, Dick’s, 70th birthday. Also on the trip was daughter, Moriah. It has been our goal over all these years that someone would catch a 10 foot White Sturgeon. And as it turned out, this WAS the trip! We managed to use Dean’s expert knowledge of the Fraser River and his love of the White Sturgeon to catch very large fish, after fish, after fish. Best fishing experience with Great river fishing adventures in my big game fishing trips around the world from Maldives ???????? to Mauritius ????????. Our guide Istvan was very experience we had our first fish hook up within 5minutes of fishing and best part was as we had 7 footer sturgeon set and hook,within seconds it was Swimming across and back around the boat ⚓️ and immediately he notice it before the line tangle up or worst snapping the line.Quickly he help me untangle the line around the anchor,so I could continue the fight. Also we had more than 10 fishes hook up from 2-7foot Long sturgeon within a day of fishing,Double thumb up ,would definitely be back for more fishing. Highly recommend to fish with them!

Awesome guided trip with Istvan! Very knowledgeable and top notch service throughout an 8hr day on the fraser fishing for sturgeon. My father, son and I caught 5 fish which was a slower day but well worth it. I couldn't have reeled in another one as my arms were too tired by the time 1 x 7 footer and 2 x 6 footers were caught. Throw in a couple of smaller ones for my 12yo and we were spent. Will be booking another trip soon for next year. Thank you Istvan!

This was a top notch excursion and experience!!! Right from the booking process, to answering all our questions before hand, covid safety and then you have STEVE!!!!! We've now been on two fishing excursions with Great River Fishing Adventures. Although we didn't catch as many fish as we'd like, it was an amazing experience. Our guide's, especially John, were very knowledgeable and overall amazing. I grew up in Minnesota (land of 10,000 land) and am an avid fisherman, and GRFA team are great at finding locations to slaughter the Salmon, as well as getting you set-up for a great experience. We have caught Coho, Chum and Sockeye Salmon in our trips, and would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a great fishing experience. No doubt I'll be back!

Here is the feedback I sent to Great River Fishing Adventures... no reply About 11:30 am, relentless heavy rain, very little fishing action and unhappy with our guide, I decided to call it a day (we were all in Gortex) Considering I paid close to $1000.00 for a guided day of fishing I expected... 1. Better preparation by the guide for your guests, like taking into account the forecasted weather conditions. Or at least given the option of a reschedule if there is a Weather Warning in Effect 2. Allow your guests to "fish", not simply hand over the rod to the guest and let them reel it in for the last 10 feet. If your guest fails to set the hook or looses the fish... so be it, that's fishing. 3. Greet your guests on time and with introductions. Explain where you are going and the type of fishing you'll be doing. 4. If the fish are not hitting in one location, try another. That is after all what the boat is for and why we hire a guide. The guide is supposed to be familiar with the hot spots so if one location isn't working you go to another. It's also why an 8 hr trip can be more productive than a 4 hr trip. Especially if there are nets being set just downstream from where you are set up. With respect but very disappointed and dissatisfied

Great river sucks. The guides suck and the fishing sucks. I went once and ill never go again. Now I only go with freds custom tackle and recommend tony as the guide. We were given this trip as an anniversary gift... and it was FABULOUS! Definitely the adventure of a lifetime. Alyssa is the best coordinator/planner ever. She got all the booking, accommodations and support worked out for us and was super-supportive when we had to postpone due to health issues the year prior. The guide, Michael, was very informative and helpful. He gave us excellent lessons on the sturgeon and their life and habitat. The accommodations were top of the line and the food was good. We can't recommend these folks enough... we'd love to go again!

We really didn't even fish. The guide, who was annoying and had signs of being an addict, drove the boat from one side of the Fraser to the other (1min) parked on the bank, set up the lines. cast the lines and the 3 of us watched. We were not allowed to touch anything...one fish caught and we were barley allowed to real it in.
