Fantastic guides and priceless experiences. I'll be back

How lucky am I to have found 'The Powder Highway' with Fresh Adventures! Best skiing holiday I've ever had. Fabulous challenging tree skiing in fluffy powder. Not what this Aussie is used to. Following Alex like a 'duckling' with her mum (dad)! Alex definitely made the trip. He's so enthusiastic, fun and had us completely organised. This trip is a must!

Incredible week in the Rockies with Fresh Adventures. We had very knowledgeable and well-equipped guides and fantastic self-made food (each of which were unique every meal); there was something exciting and different to do every day, but never felt overwhelming at any point. Highly recommend Fresh Adventures to anybody who is considering!

Our recently completed Fresh Adventures “Vancouver Island Adventure” was simply put, an incredible experience all around that we will treasure as one of our lifelong most memorable trips. Alex, the owner, delivered a unique connectivity with the awesome natural beauty and diversity of Vancouver Island for everyone irrespective of camping/hiking/paddling skills. Each day was jam packed with adventure and quality of food one might expect to get at a fine restaurant. From the first growth forests of Cathedral Grove to riding a pack freighter through Barkley Sound to sea kayaking out of protected islands near Tofino and the expansive splendor and ruggedness of Strathcona Park as experienced by hiking to high mountain lakes, our 8 days flew by however our memories are indelibly etched in our souls. Were it possible, we’d give Alex and Fresh Adventures a 6 on a 1-5 scale. We enthusiastically recommend doing this trip !

Booked 8 day guided tour of the Vancouver island with Alex. Never did any camping before and this trip made me love camping! I was very gently pushed outside of my comfort zone by Alex which made the trip very memorable. I love all the sights, the bear watching tour, swimming in lakes, cooking delicious food and meeting new people on the tour. Thank you, Alex, for the best experience.

We did the 9 day powder tour from Alberta to BC with this company. From the very first interaction we had nothing but a pleasurable and easy experience. Alex was very responsive via e-mail and was able to-do everything we asked, including booking a private bus to Whistler at the end of the tour. He was very relaxed and informative during the booking process. Then we began the tour in Banff and met our tour guides, Darren and Chris. We honestly had the best time with these guys. Chris and Darren made our trip so easy and enjoyable. Nothing was ever too much trouble (even when I forgot my boarding boots at the hotel and they had to take me back to grab them). They went above and beyond to ensure we were having the best time at all times. They knew the mountains and terrain they were taking us on well and encouraged us todo tracks (and hikes) that we would never had done on our own. They found fresh powder even when it hadn't snowed in days and were always conscientious of our boarding abilities. They were incredibly knowledgeable, they were respectful, they were professional and they were fun. They just fit right in and we felt like they were apart of our group, it was actually sad to say goodbye to them. This was a fantastic 9 days and I would recommend this tour and this company to anyone considering travelling to Canada to ski and snowboard. Thank-you to Alex, Darren and Chris.

Everything you could ask for...and then some! This was my second year travelling from Scotland for the 11 Day BC Ski Tour - which says something for Fresh Adventures and the stunning Powder Highway. Right from the start, Alex was very helpful answering any questions I had and setting up bookings to suit. Including accommodation before and after the tour. In the mountains, Margot and Sam were fantastic guides. Expertly catering to the level of the group and riding people wanted to do. Having guides like this allowed us to make the most of some incredible resorts. Hikes to hidden stashes, powdery tree runs and steep chutes. I felt confident and safe where I wouldn't have ventured otherwise. It's also hard not to catch on to Margot's seemingly endless enthusiasm. This combined with an atmosphere of encouragement and it felt like everyone progressed during the tour. When not on the slopes, there's little to stress about. As there was always a plan for the best après and dinner spots. With plenty of local knowledge thrown in. Now back home and I wish I was still chasing the sound of excited shouts through the trees. Thanks for everything Margot, Sam and Alex!

I could not have had a better time! After almost a year of research into guided tours along the Powder Highway, I opted to reach out to Fresh Adventures, and I couldn't be more glad that I did! The owner, Alex, was friendly and helpful, getting me the information I needed for the tour and coordinating travel arrangements. Upon arrival in Canada, it was immediately apparent that this was a great group of people. Our guides, Claire and Bev, had a great rapport with each other and the tour group. Kind, caring, hilarious, and knowledgable only begin to describe them. Once we were all in the mountains, the real fun began! The guides knew every resort as if they were locals. They were also able to assess everyone's skiing abilities in the group quickly and tailored the terrain and riding to get the most out of everyone. All of the riders in our group were already strong, yet every group member leveled up throughout our trip. Claire and Bev (along with Alex, who was with us for the first half of our journey) found ways to push our comfort zones with hikes to some of the most unique terrain I have ever skied. The group's excitement was palpable, with non-stop hoots and hollers through trees, cliffs, bowls, etc. While the skiing was the centerpiece of the trip, it was not the only highlight. The entire trip was incredibly well planned out, but flexible when needed, and never felt overwhelming. We never felt rushed, but always got everywhere we wanted to be when we needed to be there. We enjoyed stops at multiple hot springs along the way to ease our aching muscles, which were especially welcome! Every single meal was chosen at incredible cafes and restaurants. All of the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and had hot tubs available. I feel very fortunate also to have had such a great group of riders along on tour. We had great times together, with lots of laughs, and shared some incredible times and memories. Alex, Claire, Bev, and everyone at Fresh Adventures have created a fantastic set of experiences and deserve your patronage. I am already planning on coming back for another tour!

Wonderful scenery, enjoy it alot. It was what I expected. Really fun got to enjoy the outdoor and learned about what it felt like to camp outdoors in different areas.

I did the 11 day tour BC ski tour. It was the best snowboard vacation I've had. Alex, and the tour guides (Bev and Claire) were fantastic. It was white glove service from the moment I landed for the next 11 days. The tour mates, mountains were all great. They housed us in top notch accommodations, and shuttled us to amazing restaurants. I can't think of anything that could be improved. Makes you want to go back.

From the moment Alex and Dennis picked us up to the moment they dropped us off this trip was perfectly executed. Alex and Dennis arranged our transportation, accommodation, skiing (including professional coaching) and great eating and drinking recommendations. They're both top guys and became good friends by the end of our trip. We very much look forward to returning to Canada with them or seeing them in New Zealand! Book with Fresh adventures now, you'll absolutely love it.

(Translated) We spent 4 wonderful days with our guide Margot. The organization was top notch, it was really the perfect way to explore Victoria Island as a family. Margot knows the good corners and cooks very well. To do absolutely. (Original) Nous avons passé 4 jours magnifiques avec notre guide Margot. L'organisation était au top, c'était vraiment la solution idéale pour découvrir Victoria Island en famille. Margot connait les bons coins et cuisine très bien. A faire absolument.

Don't look any further for a Vancouver hiking adventure! Alex is a superb guide with extensive knowledge of the area. Our hike up Mount Seymour with a gourmet lunch prepared at the summit with panoramic views of downtown Vancouver was second to none !

Alex is an awesome guide ! Super patient and fun ! Ski safari was everything and more .. If you're looking for a trip that packs non stop action and exploring a lot of BC , this is for you !

Seven of us engaged Fresh Adventures for a 7-day trip around the Powder Highway before being dropped off at a cat skiing lodge. Owner and lead guide Alex was great to deal with right from the start, with succinct and on-point answers to our questions. It was very easy to work out a custom itinerary that saw us hit Revelstoke, Whitewater and Red Mountain for two days each before a travel day to the cat lodge at Keefer Lake. Alex met us at Kelowna airport with second guide and driver Dennis, who turned out to be an absolute gem. Our two guides took us to all the best spots on each mountain, showing us the best stashes, offering advice and running clinics on technique for anyone keen. They also arranged all our transport in their own van, our accommodation arrangements and dining options. They were great company from dawn to dusk. There is no way we could have had such a good trip had we organised it ourselves. If you want to experience the best of the Powder Highway, book with Fresh Adventures.

Came from New Zealand to see BC and with Fresh Adventures they gave me a trip I could never forget!! Skiing the Powder Highway caught some seriously incredible gems that I wouldn’t have done if I did this alone. The tour was flexible and relaxed, allowing us to really have the trip we wanted. Margot and Jeff were fantastic and really made us feel as though we were apart of the Fresh family. Margot knew all the best places to eat and ski and having the local knowledge meant we had an unreal time from start to finish. Incredible 12 days and have nothing but great things to say about the tour and team.

Geoff Harris

Just returned from the 11 day Powder Highway tour and can only say that my expectations were easily exceeded. 3 years in the making with Alex to get there so excitement level was high when leaving for the "adventure". Myself and my 2 adult children teamed with 5 others to form a tight group that jelled together for a fantastic trip that was lead by 2 incredible guides (now friends) Darren and Claire. Nothing was too much trouble. We skied with smiles and achieved things i wouldn't have thought possible. i certainly won't be waiting 3 years to do it again. if you are thinking about it, just do it!! Thanks for everything Alex, Darren and Claire

We just returned from the 8 day camping trip on Vancouver Island. Great food, scenery, camp sites, wild life and travel mates. We visited wonderful places and did some great hikes. Alex is a super guide and so passionate and knowledgeable about the Island.

Tristan

We’ve recently returned from the 9-day Powder Highway tour in Spring with Alex. Had an absolutely amazing time! I was a non-skier before the trip, and my partner an experienced skier, so we found the tour a great mix where Alex would sort out lessons and show me the best beginner runs whilst my partner and the majority of the group went and hiked mountains and chased the powder. I also found the order of resorts perfect for beginners as Revel Stoke has multiple beginner runs with magic carpets, Kicking Horse has a huge range of perfect beginner/intermediate runs, and then Whitewater allowed me to step up to more advanced runs. Alex organized everything down to a tee with good accommodation and great food spots everyday. Highly recommend and would do it again in a heart beat!

Jon Wozniak

Have done two Powder Highway tours with Alex and Fresh Adventures. He's the best. Works his butt off to keep all members of the group happy (which can be hard when some in the group are intermediate skiers and others want to jump off cliffs). He picks great restaurants, great mountains, and great lines. Can't wait to try out one of his summer tours!

Ann Lamanes

I just finished the 8-day Vancouver Island camping tour and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Every day brought new surprises and wonderful places to discover and it really felt like our tour guide Alex was passionate about showing off some hidden gems of the area. He was so friendly and accommodating, and did an amazing job ensuring everyone was having a good time. The food was an extra bonus - no hamburgs and hotdogs on this tour! I left on the last day sad to end the tour and can't wait to return again for another adventure.

Aisling Brady

I had an amazing time on the 9 day Rocky Mountains trip. The leaders, Alex and Claire really knew the area and showed us some fabulous places. They made delicious meals everyday and made sure that everyone was comfortable. I couldn’t recommend this trip enough.

Dean Van Es

Such an awesome trip, Alex took us to the best places on the best mountains! Everything was taken care of and all I worried about was doing sweet turns through the knee deep powder. I want to come back and do it all again!!

Jill Barton

We recently did a 9 day tour of The Rockies with Alex and a wonderful group of people from 3 different continents. The experience of walking and camping was fantastic, made better by the personal experiences shared by Alex. It should be noted that Alex is hardened to the colder weather conditions and you should make your own decision on what to wear ... his wearing of shorts and t-shirts made me feel cold to look at him!! If he says bring a jacket - wear a jumper and still bring the jacket :) Don't hesitate - book your Adventure Tour, you won't be disappointed!

Dr. Jen Faber

If you are an avid hiker, the 12-day tour is completely made for you. Alex was a phenomenal guide who took us off the beaten path. Most days were on trails with only a handful people and getting views that no other tour company can offer. Get your legs ready for awesome terrain and your bellies ready for incredible camping food!

Stephen Langmuir

No experience I've ever had has measured up to the time spent with Fresh Adventures. I'm not the usual guy to pay for a trip but these guys are worth every penny. You will truely get to see a side of Canada and of yourself that you haven't before. I've never gone anywhere twice but I'll be booking my next trip with these guys 100%. Thanks for the great memories.

Sarah

Awesome holiday, had lots of adventurous fun on the 9 day powder highway tour. Alex did a great job balancing different ski levels and making sure everyone was kept happy. We explored some great terrain, got to do some hiking and jumping off big mountains, definitely pushed me to ski happily outside my comfort zone.. My boyfriend was new to skiing and Alex did a great job setting him up with great instructors and lots of tips when we skied together. Getting to find untracked powder, amazing food each night and the natural hot springs make this tour one of a kind. Highly recommend to all, good mix of ages on the tour make this a great option to see the best of BC.

Anniek van der Werf

I never thought I could improve so fast in off piste and tree skiing!! Great trip, perfect locations and a lot of fun!

I had a great time on my weeklong camping tour. Alex is a phenomenal guide. I left BC and Alberta feeling accomplished with how much natural beauty i got to see. Alex is very knowledgeable, experienced and fun to be around. Makes an effort to get you to know you and is genuinely a solid dude. Action packed days, no wasted time, time to rest while driving from place to place. From start to finish, awesome tour. Awesome guide. Had a blast. Highly recommend to anyone interested in nature, camping and hiking. Great food too. Was very impressed with the food and im a picky eater. 10/10.

Awesome experience. Fantastic routes, outstanding food and super comfortable trip! 100% recommended.

Fantastic week of snowboarding/skiing and eating beautiful food with Fresh Adventures!! All thanks to Alex, our local, brilliant and fearless guide. We had some epic snow and ate at great cafes and restaurants all week. B.C. is stunningly beautiful. A very well organised and thought out tour. Plenty of laughs were shared from our eclectic and very international group. Throw in some natural hot springs that Alex took us to and we had a brilliant time!! Thanks again Alex and Fresh Adventures. I highly recommend the experience.

Matt Moreira

Amazing tour amazing group and great snow! Alex took great care of us and was really friendly the whole time. We skied much better terrain than I expected and the hotels were quite spacious. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

My wife and I recently completed the 8 day Vancouver Island tour with our wonderful guides Margot and Stephen. It was an amazing experience! We are not campers but decided to give this a try and it did not disappoint. The sights we saw on the Island were spectacular and the itinerary provided a good mix of different activities - hiking, kayaking, boating, sightseeing, beach walks, etc. The tents and sleeping bags/pads met our needs and the quality/quantity of the food blew us away. It was definitely far beyond normal camping food! Our guides were a delight, so accommodating and knowledgeable about the different areas we travelled as well as experienced in how to live in the wild. We couldn’t have asked for anything better and highly recommend this tour!

Chin Li

Excellent experience! I toured with them on a 12 day camping tour of the Canadian Rockies and enjoyed every minute of it. Having someone else take care of the meals, transportation, and itinerary made it easy to focus on enjoying the hikes. They provide the camping equipment, so not needing to bring these things was a huge plus as well. Overall, I enjoyed traveling with them and would recommend others to go with this company, especially if they're new to camping like I was.

Scott Ro

Great trip! Alex picked us up in Victoria and took us to explore Vancouver Island. What a great way to see the island and all its beauty. He was very accommodating to everyone needs and worked very hard to make sure everyone had a good time. Thanks Alex. Hoping to make it back to Canada and take a ski tour.

Laura Windatt

Some of the best times of my life. Fresh Adventures exceeded my expectations in delivering a truly unique itinerary that I would never have been able to do on my own.

Sue Mallory

Trip of a lifetime! A huge thanks to Alex for taking us off the beaten path so we felt like we had the beautiful locations all to ourselves :) Alex took note of everyone's interests and made them happen...hiking, waterfalls, glacial lakes, ice fields, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hot springs...not to mention amazing food, campfires and company. We had the best time and will be back for another tour.

K Lanny

We did the 6 day Vancouver Island tour with Alex. He is a terrific tour guide, taking us on scenic hikes with breathtaking views of remote beaches and mountains. Our campsites were in great locations and Alex cooked awesome meals. His knowledge of western Canada and general outdoor life is amazing. We were 1st time campers and this trip exceeded our expectations. Hoping to do his Rockies tour next year! Highly recommend!

Robert Collington

Just returned from a fantastic trip to the Rockies with Fresh Adventures. Alex made the whole planning process really easy, with lots of help and useful tips. The actual tour more than lived up to our expectations - a great guide, a really fun group of people, and the best camp food we've ever had. The trip was pretty active for our group - Alex took a lot of care to match the activities to the capabilities of each group member. The scenery was amazing, especially on the guided hikes across snowy terrain and up to look at the glaciers. The optional activities, horseriding and white-water rafting, were a great addition. Overall, one of the best trips we've ever taken. Thanks Alex.

I just came back from a winter tour led by Alex and I can confidently say that he made it the trip of a lifetime. Alex knew all the best runs to ski/board where we would find amazing powder to go through. Alex was even kind enough to give me a few quick snowboarding tips which really helped me out. Alex took us to some amazing restaurants that served some amazing food and knew the best cafes to go to for top quality coffee. It was really nice to go on a trip and not have to worry about what time we needed to get up or what time we needed to leave location X to arrive at location Y as Alex had everything perfectly planned out. Going on this tour, I didn't feel like just another customer at all, I felt like family and couldn't help feel a little sad when it was time for the tour to come to an end. I'll definitely be returning next year.

Tyler Barthule

The entire 8 day/ 7 night camping adventure was amazing! You eat good food with every meal. There was never a shortage of things to do, and all the activities we're a lot of fun! I highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants a good get away! Sightseeing was fun too! We saw a lot of Eagles, a grey wale, and a bear. I took the Victoria Clipper back to Seattle and we saw a Humpback Wale. Great trip!

Per Lidefelt

Did the backcountry tour with my son and had a fantastic experience. Felt like every run was the best skiing of my life. Everything was well organized and Margot from Fresh Adventures did a fantastic job. Judson from Kootenay Backcountry Guides is the best guide I have encountered.

Suzie Darling

Great Powder tour....wonderful skiing!!! Alex offers a down to earth natural experience. He took care of everyone to ensure all our needs were met. Alex was very familiar with all the resorts which ensured we got to ski in the best areas of the mountain. His deep understanding of the environment made us feel safe. Our accommodation was very comfortable and clean. Each night we dined at great local restaurants which were all fantastic offering an array of delicious Canadian cuisine and cozy atmosphere. No maccas here (other than the odd Tim Hortons when we were on the run! GREAT HISTORIAN AND HOST. Thanks for a fab holiday and fond memories. Suzie and Paul

The best and only way to see the Rockies !

Nicola MacLachlan

We have just returned from the 11 day Powder Highway tour which was fabulous and definitely the best way to explore the Powder Highway. Alex is highly organized, the tour runs like clockwork, great hotels, and Alex has gone to considerable effort finding the best places to eat. Also really great going to a mountain you haven't skied at before and being shown the best runs. Highly recommended for those who enjoy being part of a small group and who are strong intermediates through to advanced skiers or boarders.

My wife and I were on the 8 day Vancouver Island trip in early September. Although a bit apprehensive about going back into a tent after a couple of decades, the whole experience was wonderful. We covered a lot of territory in those 8 days and saw a wide variety of what Vancouver Island has to offer. We were guided by Margot and Stephen who were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, hard working (first ones up in the morning and last ones to bed at night) and were great cooks! The provided camping equipment was top notch and the food was excellent. A great time!

(Translated) After a week in the woods with Alex, you'll be able to participate in the Island or Koh Lantah but you'll be less afraid to pee when you know there are bears, wolves and cougars running around in the corner, (because this gentleman accompanies you if you ask him). I lived 7 days on Vancouver Island exploring the most beautiful wild spots this island has to offer, 7 days off the beaten track, to forget the notion of day and night, 7 days to admire what nature has to more raw in a more glamping version than rustic, and I wanted to stay more ... Alex is the man who falls right, the Mac Gyver woods, Marc Darcy wild version, the Canadian version of Bear Grills , who jumps from rock to rock, makes you go through paths that are not paths, takes you on a walk to the front and pushes you out of your comfort zone but with calm, softness and subtlety. 1m85 of pure kindness, you discover the flora, fauna, who takes the time to tell you Indian legends by the fire, listening to your every need, just to please you and who you cook good food worthy of a 3 stars. So ready for the adventure! Go! We were not impressed when this truck drove through a stop sign almost hitting us and flipped us offed when we hooked. Very inconsiderate

Took the 11 day powder highway tour Recommend to all Very professionally run and organised Nothing was too much trouble Margot was exceptional and the group of people from 21 to 68 years old had a great time together Would do again in a heard beat

Alex was a great guide. He arrived to pick us up on time, the trip was well organized, and the mountain top lunch was excellent. He spent time picking up fresh local food for the picnic that gave it a personal touch. He was encouraging throughout the whole hike, and I would definitely take another trip with him in the future. We did the one day trip with him to Mount Seymour.

John Riley

Name says it all! I wanted to explore the Powder Highway for a week with friends and not burn time at the Resorts figuring out the terrain. I got more than I could ask for as Alex accommodated our large group by making a custom trip (Resort + Cat Days), showing those who wanted to huck themselves off rocks and ski chutes the right locations, and at same time getting our more moderate skiers to good groomers. Best daily routine ever: Make the lift openings, ski till close, Apres ski, Fantastic Dinner Reservations by Alex. Repeat.

Anna Kallio

The hiking & camping trip at the Rocky Mountains was definitely a trip of a lifetime. All expectations were exceeded from start to finish. The hikes were really variable and perfectly designed to meet the needs of different level of hikers. It was possible to do a bit shorter hikes if you didn’t feel the most energetic on the day or longer hikes to challenge yourself. Our guide Alex was easy going, supportive and encouraging and made sure everyone felt included in the group. In addition to hiking there were lots of other activities such as horseback riding, mountain biking, rafting, town sightseeing, waterfalls, hot springs etc. You will definitely leave with many new experiences richer! The food was incredible – healthy and hearty meals made of fresh organic ingredients for breakfast, lunch and dinner, not forgetting delicious desserts made by campfire like blueberry pie and chocolate chip cookies. Different dietary requirements were well catered. I could not believe I was on a camping trip and would suggest the trip to be named hiking, camping & gourmet tour of the Rockies. The trip is perfect for solo travellers, couples and groups and is suitable for all regardless of your level of experience with camping/hiking. Thank you Alex & Fresh Adventures for an amazing experience and lifelong memories!

Fantastic ski safari! Alex being an excellent driver, and tour guide, meant all we had to do was get up and go. Revy was the first mountain, runs go forever, all kinds of terrain, the brave and strong hit the north bowl, the less braves enjoyed the rest of the mountain! Kicking Horse, amazing snow, views like no where else. Whitewater, totally different, lots of families, lots of terrain. Red, unexpected clearing, great views, and hills. Alex chose great places to eat, hotsprings to visit, and generally made everything work well! Was a Bucket list trip, but will have to return to the Powder Highway!

Hannah Milton

We have just finished the 11 day ski safari on The Powder Highway and it was wonderful! Our guide, Alex knew the resorts really well and could always find us decent snow. We were luck enough to have a few powder days. He also helped us out with booking a few extra days of holiday that we had left at the end. The best ski trip I`ve ever been on!!!!

I joined two fresh adventure winter tours and enjoyed both immensely. The first was the powder highway tour and 2nd was the rockies. For the powder highway tour, Margot was our lead guide. Margot is bubbly, encouraging, easy going and caring. Everyone on the tour loved her. I cannot do her justice through my review but if you're lucky enough to get her as your guide, you'll see what i mean. Alex was our guide for the Rockies tour. I was happy to meet Alex since he's in all the reviews! Alex is passionate about guiding and wants to make everyone have a great experience. He is friendly, energetic and open. Even though he is the owner of the company, his down to earth nature makes him very relatable and I found his honesty about his life experiences endearing. I appreciated Alex's flexibility and to customize my 2nd tour to fit my schedule. I have been on overseas snow trips with friends and now with a tour group, so i can appreciate the pros and cons of both. If you want to travel but you're friends are unavailable, I definitely recommed trying Fresh Adventures if you want to check out Canada's snow resorts. You may be with a group of all different ages and experience levels, but because everyone loves skiing/boarding, that common interest does bring people together. The advantages for me doing a fresh adventures tour rather than organising it myself were (not in a particular order): Dinner reservations made every night ( people are free to also do their own thing). I loved that i didn't have to think of where to eat! And all the restaurants chosen were good picks. The guides packed up our snow gear in the van. No lugging around your gear to your accomodation after a long day at the snow. The guides drive the van all the way to the resort's entrance! I felt so spoiled that i didn't have to walk far with my board. Very nice especially after a tiring day. No waiting for a shuttle bus to take you back to your hotel or driving on unfamiliar icy roads. There may be opportunities to meet people that are a lot more advanced, and therefore they challenge you to improve (this was my experience as an intermediate boarder. Of course an advanced skiier/boarder will have a different experience). Having guides that know the mountain. This is not a ski school so you won't get coaching (however Alex still gave me some tips along the way). From my experience, the guide will be with the advanced skiers/boarders group because they can explore more terrain and this is where a guide is invaluable. Beginners and intermediate levels may not get to be with the guide because they do not require as much guidance around the mountain. However the guide will still point out what runs are appropriate. The small group size makes it easy to get to know everyone. And it's fun meeting new people on holidays. The cons are the cost. The cost of tours (in general, not just Fresh Adventures) may be a bit more expensive than doing it yourself or organising with friends. However, i found this tour a lot less stressful and more convenient than going solo or even as a pair. I think it's worth it- especially if you choose the powder highway tour. You'll go to mountains that are out of the way and therefore less crowded. I got the impression that the mountains on the powder highway tour are where locals go. Even the towns you stay in will be less touristy and therefore food is a lot cheaper! I know i wouldn't have gone to these resorts if i was with friends because they are more difficult to get to. Overall, I'm really happy to have experienced both tours. Personally i preferred the powder highway because I liked the runs more on those mountains. However, if you are a beginner/ early intermediate, then the Rockies tour may be more suitable because the runs aren't as steep. Of course, confirm with Alex (because he knows the mountains a lot better than me). If you prefer a more energetic night life, Banff (you'll stay here on the Rockies tour) is the place to be. So both tours can cater for different interests.

I recently returned from a BC powder highway tour with Fresh adventures. Led by Alex , whose meticulous preparation and attention to detail ensured we were treated to the very best on and off the slopes . The beauty of the 11 day tour is you get to experience 4 very different ski resort terrains , as well as taking in some of Canada's most breathtaking scenery. Add to that some amazing culinary delights , comfortable accommodation , natural hot springs visits , and a wonderful eclectic tour group , it's hard not be full of praise for Alex and his tour operation . If you are a skiing / boarding enthusiast , i wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for your next holiday Paul k

My husband and I went on the 8-day Vancouver Island trip early September and we had a fantastic time. Our two guides, Stephen and Margot, went over and above what one would normally expect from tour guides to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The trip includes visiting many popular spots, but they also took us to see some hidden gems as well. With a small group (11) there were some opportunities for flexibility in the schedule and activities, which was really nice. We are not regular campers, but setting up the tents was very easy. The sleeping pad that was provided was good quality and comfortable – just make sure you fully inflate it! We also rented the sleeping bags and they were warm and comfortable. For excursions, we did the boat cruise through Barkley Sound, the trip to the hot springs and kayaking. All of the excursions provided opportunities to see wildlife and beautiful scenery. For the hot springs, water shoes are highly recommended as the rocks are quite slippery. Last but not least, I was really impressed with the food, it was delicious. Lots of variety, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and we most definitely never went hungry. Overall it was a great trip that I would highly recommend.

This hiking week in the Rockies was so much fun !!! Got what I expected : beautiful views, lakes, waterfalls, etc. And also what I didn't necessarily expected: GREAT group and Alex's cooking skills ! Highly recommended !!

One of the best trips I've ever had! I wanted an experience that pushed me to be adventurous and one that was set within natural landscapes. Fresh Adventures fulfilled both. I not only was able to see some of the most breath taking landscapes I have ever seen, but also gained loads of information on places we went from our knowledgeable guide. The small size of the group allowed us to easily bond and be flexible which enriched the experience. Fresh Adventures is the ideal way to experience the Rocky Mountains and more!

We were on the eight day camping and hiking adventure on Vancouver Island with Alex. We chose the kayak and hot springs excursions. Alex knows exactly what he's doing, does it with passion and makes it SO MUCH FUN. It was the best trip led by the greatest guide; and a wonderful small group of campers. If I could give more stars I would do it in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic holiday. We met a great group of people and saw loads of stunning, and often undiscovered places. Alex's local knowledge was exceptional - and he went to great lengths to make sure he was meeting everyone's needs. As just one example, both my wife and I have awkward dietary requirements and he catered for us at every meal - producing amazingly good food considering we were camping. We'd recommend Fresh Adventures to anyone and everyone!
