Here you will see the information of real people who consumed the services of BC Ferries Vacations (Travel Agency) near British Columbia (Canada).
Now the business has a score of 3.9 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is very positive, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is quite credible. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are pleased with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place feddbacks when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Travel Agency belongs to the category of Travel agency.
I showed up 15 minutes before sailing. It is noted on their website that sales close 5 minutes before sailing for vechile. The ticket booths were closed however because of a sailing wait. Since I was travelling on a motorcycle, on pass sailings, employees have found somewhere to fit a motorcycle. The ticket booth told me I need to arrive 25 minutes before a sailing. The reason for the 1 star review is that your employees and website need to be transparent.
It's awesome

I travel pretty extensively on BC Ferries have ALWAYS had good to excellent service from BC Ferries staff both at the office and onboard. I am especially impressed by the quick response to anything that goes wrong. Every year I have a huge Experience Card order that has to be linked to one account for our Scout group and the time and patience the office staff gives me is outstanding! I just don't understand people who say the service is bad, what do you expect when you are dealing with this many people. if you want to be treated as the one and only passenger then a public form of transportation shouldn't be your choice!!
Beautiful experience and memorable ???????????????? thanks
Booked an affordable vacation package for my boyfriend and myself today here! Caitlin was very friendly and super knowledge about the hotel and the room we wanted. She even gave me good tips on where to eat in Tofino! It was very easy to book a trip in person and a great experience. I will definitely book a trip this way again!
Crappy company with horrible customer service, extreme prices.
What vacation? It's public transport and nothing more. Stop kidding yourselves.
A fair and good deal, phone hotel after booking to upgrade if available
Simon was so extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the place I was booking. He had great insight on the location which is extremely helpful for my adventures I am looking forward to doing. Thanks again Simon.
We used bc yesterday on a saturday! There was 6 adults total. After reading the other reviews I was kind of sceptical but I will say that as far as me and my family are concerned it is a very well run ship! Everything was clean! We did eat on board and the food was good! It was on time and organized! All of the announcements are done properly to provide plenty of time for getting on and off! And yes it is a little pricey buy it's done very well and organized and requires alot of staff so in this day and age everything is a little pricey that requires good service! Thank you for your service and if we return to Vancouver Island or any of the other trips you provide I will not hesitate again to use your services!
Good website to find a short term vacation in BC
Good deals for couples
Pretty cool experience, the site in the morning is really nice. My concerns is the prices of travelling with a car is quite high, and the wifi doesn’t work on smartphones for some reason.
I loved it because of the amazing service. I went there before the quarantine. Can someone delete this version of 2020 and reinstall it this version has viruses
Damn
Very good package, includes ferry fare,parking,wifi,3rd nighylt free at Prestige sooke
Vincent at BC Ferries Vacations was able to help us book our vacation in September. Knowledgeable, patient & kind. Thanks ????
Oh yes .... It's very fashionable to knock BC Ferries. In my experience I think they generally do an excellent job. They are professionally run, often in very difficult circumstances and I feel completely safe travelling on BC Ferry. I speak from many years spent working 'at sea' in one form or another. No company is perfect. The fares often do seem expensive but that is a reflection of the very high costs in Canada of running a fleet of that size. I feel that many of the problems and delays are caused by ..... the passengers. Basil Fawlty was right!
Have to do this experience!
Way overpriced. Crappy service from the car deck to the kitchen. The food is ok though, must people complain about it but I like it... There's not much food I don't like though. Also the tourism is clearly the priority for mid-north coast routes, while First Nation groups needs along the mid-north coast are clearly not being met. (Sad face)
Great ride between Duke point & Tsawwassen.
Nice experience great views of downtown. Took ferry to Bremerton 30min ride. Free ride back to Seattle.
Wonderful! When traveling to the island this is the way to go. Top notch! Accommodations were beautiful. Stress free check in and boarding the ferry was fast and easy. Just print itinerary before you leave:)
The "current conditions" information online is inaccurate and caused me to waste a lot of time trying to rush and make it on a ferry 1hr 45 mins before. (It said it was 90% full by the time I got there.) However, there were still about 20 cars on front of me that didn't make it on the 3:10 ferry and we ended up having to wait 2 hours for the next one at 5:20 (a total of 4 hours of waiting!). It's also so expensive! When I tried to make a reservation for the ferry, there were no more spots available. Just be prepared to schedule a lot of buffer room into your plans-- sometimes 3-4 hours!
Thinks it's a tourism company, forgets the point is to move people and vehicles from A to B
I have been using the ferries from Twassawsen to Fulford Harbour for 5 years now every week. They need to get their connections/thru fares better organized. Missed so many sailings (with a reservation) because of the ridiculous turnaround, traffic, line-ups...bit of a joke. With kids, animals even more painful. Some ticket ladies are extremely rude and others are beyond nice. Most staff are great.
The value behind this is great. It offers a nice getaway to the island. We've booked a few vacation packages to date and our favourite is Black Rock Resort. My one pet peeve about booking is that you need to print out your reservation. We once did not and it was a nightmare to get onto the ferry and then to check in. @BCFerries You should look into giving people the option to show their confirmation on their phone as it's more environmentally friendly. But other than that, the packages are great.
Great Website.
terrible company. not worth your dollar. terrible customer services...
Good travel ideas close to home!
I took a trip for new year thru BC Ferries Vacations, great service, great price, we are planning another trip.
(Translated) Super service, the delicious buffet ???????????????????? (Original) Súper servicio, el buffet delicioso ????????????????????
Very helpful and well informed person on the othrr end of my connection
Fantastic service with great deals. I always book with them when I am heading to the island
Good experience
I like to see all of the stairways on the new ferries, but I just saw them for the first time.
Extremely misleading website. Listed four possible hotel plus ferry packages from $508 to $618 for 4 days. The $508 hotel didn't actually have availability on the requested dates; the others came back with quotes for double the listed price.
I wich back ! we love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Translated) Great crossing between Vancouver and Victoria (Original) Superbe traversée entre Vancouver et victoria
The best
Fine. Very convinient
Always a pleasant experience and staff are always excellent.
Unorganized and rude. Treated like a criminal for attempting to register a complaint to customer service for the way I've seen disabled persons being treated .I've been a customer for years and the prices keep going up whilst the service is in continuous decline. If this was not enough I asked for my balance on my experience card and was told it was 0 when there was 15 still remaining. Glad I double checked later! Boo boo boo shame on this company for exploiting a nessasary public service!
Smooth sailing to the Island with great staff and services. A must for a first time visitor to the Island. Great views, all year round
What is there not to love. It's a boat... A big boat and its in the water. I wish their food prices were a bit more reasonable but I know not to dream in BC.
(Translated) Very good organization. We embark quickly and the crossing is magnificent. There is everything on board the ferries. Bar, restaurant, rest station, laptop and a view of Vancouver not to be missed (Original) Très bonne organisation. On embarque rapidement et la traversé est magnifique. Il y a tout à bord du ferries. Bar, restaurant, station de repos, de laptop et une vue de vancouver à ne pas manquer
Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about things to do and so on, it's Vancouver so I think the prices average
There is zero cost difference when getting these 'vacation packages'. I booked a hotel for 2 nights , and then investigated these packages. I saw the hotel I booked for the same price, plus the cost of the ferry fare. Don't bother!
Good times
Good site experience
Boat was on time got to destination on the time it said. The Staff are amazing. Great place hard to give a bad review when you love the boat life. Lots to do while you wait and when on the boat. Must say it was a great time.
Actually BC Ferry food won’t disappoint. If you are real hungry go to the buffet.
So much more expensive than on the commercial ????
Excellent
very bad experience
Outstanding customer service! Very friendly environment. Traveling just for work or vacations is always a nice experience!!
Minimal wait time on the call. Quick response from the agent
If traveling to Vancouver Island, Sunshine coast, the Gulf islands or the mainland always check in at BC Ferries Vacation. There's plenty of deals that may work for you. We got 2 nights at Ti Na Mara and our ferries included for a great price. Pretty much the ferry was free. I don't work for BC Ferries but with the amount that we go over it's always worth checking out the deals and packages they provide.
I catch the ferry EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. I've bought tickets 55 after so many times. And all of a sudden they stop selling tickets at 50 after????? Like seriously i have to wait 2 hours for the 9pm ferry.
Beautiful ride
Awesome
Always helpful and great deals. I highly recommend using BC vacations.
Fantastic Ferry ride from Tsassawwen Ferry Terminal to Vancouver Island. A great way to get away from the hustle of downtown Vancouver and slow it down to take nature & culture in. The ferry system is on a strict timeline so pay attention to details. Wait on the parking lot before boarding. It’s ok to grab a coffee from Starbucks while you wait. But be in your vehicle ready to board when its time to drive into Deck 5. Once inside, park your vehicle and take the stairs or elevator up to Deck 2. Lots of seating and plenty of food options to choose from. They even have a QUIET ZONE where you pay an extra $12 per person to either read a newspaper or magazine. It helps minimize the roaring sound the boat gives out periodically that really hurts the ears. Included with this $12 Cover Amount is all the coffee, tea, fruit, bread, cheese and yogurt that you want. Not bad. All you can eat. But please Whisper if you need to talk. The seats are more comfortable too. While riding, you’ll enjoy a very scenic ride passing by many beautiful islands on the peaceful waters. Finally listen for the call to get back to your vehicle Get back early to the stairs or elevator to beat the crowd flowing back down to Deck 5.
Friendly, yet helpful booking operator!
The Playroom is not cleaned on a regular basis and because of that me and my daughter both have the stomach flu..
The most unprofessional customer service I have ever dealtw Called twice, 2 different staff and both were so mean! Never finish the deal til the end! They way that lady- her name was Katie I guess- was talking to me, raised my anxiety bar to 100! She was so frustrated and almost yelling at me when I asked her to move the date of our vacation one day forward! She almost hang up the phone in my face! OMG she was so rude! I mean that's her job being a customer service representative! And all she cared about was the number of calls! No the quality! Definitely sth wrong with the company's policy!
Nice service
Great way of booking your holidays. Seamless reservations.
Great!!! Your employee - Josh - must be commended for always doing an exceptional job - above and beyond. His Manager should know this.
Always enjoyable
Not as advertised!!! It was our first time booking through the BC Ferries Vacation. Things like booking fees for your ferry, should not be an additional cost. And it shouldn't be hidden. There was a hyperlink in print that was easily missable asking about booking our ferries, when we expected it to be an additional page after we confirmed our dates. Not until we paid for the vacation, did we realize we had no option to book the ferry without calling the phone number and making an additional payment. Then, when we arrived at our hotel, we were informed that we were "upgraded as part of the bc ferries package" to another room. The "upgrade" was not an upgrade...it was a big downgrade to what we paid for. We were supposed to stay in a quaint little bungalow, and ended up in a room like any other, smaller, surrounded by rooms above, below and on both sides with very thin walls and clearly audible conversations at talking levels. When we returned to the front desk to be reassigned to what we booked, they were unable to help us. Even though we booked well before our vacation, we got bumped and not in a good way. This is a third party provider and it is not a good option - and they disguise clauses to protect themselves by stating "upgrades" can be made instead of calling it what it is - when you book with BC Ferries - what you are actually booking is NOT PROTECTED. You are best to book direct with a hotel and just book your ferry separate. You're not saving money and it is NOT worth the hassle.
Sat on hold for 40 minutes. They closed 25 minutes in. Told me they could have someone call me back the next day. Transferred 3 times. Very disappointed. Seems like government can’t compete with free enterprise
Great chilly, garlic bread and Caesar salad.
Excellent
almost impossible to reserve online at short notice - anything but up to date - grumpy staff, ship and service otherwise ok
Always amazing experience being on the water
Great value and friendly customer service from people who know coastal BC well. Go here for a deal.
Very pleasant smooth sailing.
Couldnt find what was offering
The sights were really nice, even with the covid measures, the staff were nice, one downside is if you are on the top deck they ask that you say in your car
Friendly and efficient staff.
BC ferries staff at Departure Terminal told me my mother-in-law could not use a BC ferry wheel chair reason being I did nt pre arrange it,and that the did not have any available My mother-in-law has mobility issues, she was heading back to Vancouver. When we walked past the ticket both after paying for her ticket we saw several wheel chairs in a corner. So I took a wheel chair ,without she would not have made the Ferry in time. When leaving the Terminal I stopped to file a complaint at coustomer service .The two women greeted me very nice, but as soon as they realized I was there to file a complaint they said we have to go and shut the office ,and left.I found the service at Nanaimo Terminal deplorable towards elderly, with mobility issues
Very nice
Have the ferries got that cheap they've gotta use toilet seats that don't fit the toilet? Raised rates, who's pocket does that go in? Cuz it's sure not going into the ships! It's retarded ! A tiny seat on a full size toilet. Whoever's responsible for stuff like that is an idiot!! The seat is way smaller than the toilet.
Very glitchy website, at least when using a mobile device. Was unable to select dates to see availably for trips.
Friendly service!
Clean,well planned with covid protocols
We have gone on two BC Ferries Vacations and loved, loved, loved both of them. We are planning another one for the Spring. Try it, it's a great deal
I am using Bc ferries almost weekly. Slow service almost never on time. Unfortunately no other way to travel to our destination. It is time for government to take over, so there is some accountability!
So today it was my first time using the bc ferry from vancouver to Nanaimo everything was okay ,when i asked the guy at the ticket booth can i reserve a return ticket he says no you cant so there i was thinking well if i cant reserve ill try catching the one i want to be on the way back so at 4:00pm i was at the port the sign showed at full capacity on both boats well i have a 3month old son and livestock that i have to get across as i live 7hrs from Nanaimo well i called there customer service they say to me pretty much they dont care that i have to get home and that i have a child and livestock plus i cant say overnight so heres the thing the lady says hey reserve for the 10:45pm boat did i hear that right?? Re serve ? How come i couldnt reserve from.the first and that guy told me i cant what kinda service is this i feel lied to and very mistreated they spoke to me in horrible way if they would have told me hey you can reserve i would have but here i sit with the worst experience by far and all they say well what ever not my problem you have to get home safe and sound if i can rate them from 5 stars i rate them 0 honestly i know they could have done something to get a smaller car and a child and heat sensitive rabbits across earlier now im.in the line waiting im gonna get home at 6am to 7am home and my baby gets stressed under so many hours i was hoping to be on the island max 3hrs not 10hrs so my conclusion is ill never go with them ever again !!! Telling my family and friends this so they dont go thru it like i did !! Worst customer service and misguiding workers
Totally amazing trip. They helped me plan my trip and even some sightseeing. They even pointed out some points of interest between Nanaimo and Victoria. Even though it was mainly a bike trip I had the most amazing time doing the trip.
Very friendly staff to help you find a great vacation.
Abusive customer care service. They advertised one hotel on their website to attract customers and then they give some other cheap hotel when we buy the package. When we call them to change the hotel, they were blaming us and then they charged us a fee to make the changes. The customer care representative was very rude and she just hung up the phone which was very unprofessional. Please try to avoid this website at any cost.
Sadly the email they send is not good enough to board the ferries. In these covid times I need to be handing paper work back and forth? Dealing with the rude customer service on Vancouver side. Props to the manager on Swartz Bay terminal she did help us get home
We had the best trip ever and stayed at the Lund Resort in Lund. We were upgraded to their Ocean Front suite with the best ever amenities and view. We had been worried about both the windy and snowy forecasts and these did interrupt Island travellers but not us going to the Sunshine coast. We have been using BC Ferry vacations for a few years now and will definitely continue to do so.
Tried searching for packages to Vancouver downtown from any date after and including 21 November. Today is the 18th. Nothing, but nothing, available on any dates I put in. Advertised is a 3rd night free deal..nothing available. I've checked BC Ferries before, and have booked a deal with them...once. You can get a better hotel deal by calling the hotels direct, or looking at last minute deals online.
I went on ferry to go to Village Mayne (aka Mayne Island) on Saturday(May5th) with my besty and folks from hiking meetup. The ferry came from Holland recently and it was clean. This was about my third time taking ferry and the menu and interior is slightly different depending on ships. Ticket for one way was $17.15 (from Delta to Mayne) and I paid $7.80 coming back (Mayne to Delta). The trip took 1hr one way which was total of 2 hours as in roundtrip. Parking price is expensive. So this boat had breakfast and burger menu(for lunch) and it's kids friendly. As for menu they had vegan option as well. Food was not too bad in my personal opinion. I had Coastal Benny ($11.69) it was filling. The staff was new and she forgot to toast my English muffin. One guy asked staff to toast the bun for Benny. If you ever take Victoria ferry there's an AYCE buffet that I've already went last year. That ferry is always full of passengers. I'll go back to Mayne Ferry here. It had kids' area and some souvenir stores. If you want to buy beverages or chips you can also use credit/debit card to pay. If you feel thirsty you can get tab water with ice as a self-serve by the cafeteria. You can also get gorgeous ocean view by sitting near the windows. If Saturna Island is your destination you need 2 ferries and it will take you 1hr 40minutes to get there. To get to Tsawassen it's better to drive, or take 620 Tsawassen bus from Bridgeport Station.
I use the ferry between Victoria and Vancouver twice a week. I just bought a vitamin water from the Lands End Cafe at the terminal. Can some one explain why the same product is 49 cents more expensive when purchased from the BC Ferries run counter than it is when purchased from the machine just out side the door 12 paces away ?
Lovely ladies at ticket desk, an on time service & a clean comfortable ferry, can't fault it.
Nice people
Too expensive
Good deals to be had on the site.
Great deals for a staycation
I had excellent experiences with BC Ferries Vacations. It makes travelling off Island more affordable and when I had to cancel last minute the agent got me a full refund.
