It should be noted that this review is not for the physical branch in Brantford, but for CAA in general. As this is my local branch, I'm putting the review here. I also want to note that I am well aware that this is a large organization with many moving parts, but CAA has been in business for a long time so its assumed that they will fulfill their basic services. Now I don't normally give out 1 star reviews, if ever. But the service I received was at best 1 star.
So on Saturday afternoon at around 1pm I start having engine issues with my car while driving on the highway. I take the nearest exit, where upon the issues increase and my car stalls. No problem, Ill call CAA. I call them, and they tell me due to cold weather, there is a high amount of calls and they can only get to me between my current time (around 1:15pm) and 9:15 pm. So that's about an 8 hour window for them to pick up my car. They tell me to put my keys under the doormat and assure me they will be there soon. No problem! I get a friend to pick me up and wait on the confirmation that they picked up my car, which would come through text updates and as well as a service tracker on their app.
I wait all day and nothing happens. I think, well they must just be really busy. Then 9:15pm rolls around, and I have received no update texts, and my service call has simply disapeared out of the app. I thought it was strange but figured whoever picked up the car must have forgotten to update it.
Monday morning at 9:30am I call my dealership to ask if the car has been delivered there. They assure me that my vehicle has not entered the dealership lot, and so I call CAA to see what they have to say. After sitting on hold for 15 mins I hang up and leave work and drive to where I left my car. It's still sitting there, unlocked with the key in it. So I call CAA to ask them whats going on and when I could expect my car to be picked up. They say they will have someone there in 45 mins. I wait an hour, nobody is there. So I try calling them again, trying to get through to the existing service calls department. Nobody picks up my call and after 20 mins I hang up. I re-call CAA, this time dialing through as a new service call. Someone picks up immediately. I explain the situation to them, they say oh how strange, yes well have someone to you in an hour.
So I ask if I should stay on site or if I can leave, and if I leave will it bump my call down in priority. The representative confirms that, yes, if I leave then my call will be less prioritized than if I stay there, so I decide to stay. Finally, 2 days after my original call, a truck shows up at 1:20pm on Monday afternoon to pick up my car.
So now, what can I say. This is probably the worst service I have ever received from any company. I hope you can learn how to fix your business methods to prevent issues like this and wish you well with your future endevours.
