If you are looking to buy Green Gables memorabilia, the gift shop here has the cheapest price. We checked and ended buying on our way back to NB. Also, make sure you have your pictures taken dressed as Anne in one of the shops. The gentleman there was super funny.

Borden-Carleton Visitor Information Centre offers clean restrooms, a few tourist shops and convenience stores and a small information centre. There is a small park outside with a strange monument and a playground for children. Opening hours should be 24/7 for those arriving in the province of Prince-Edward-Island for the first time.

Excellent intro to PEI as you come off the Confederation bridge with a video terminal that answers every question you may have thought of while crossing. On Victoria day, both the sweet store (nice fudge selection) and gift store were open. Info center clerks gave us a map and highlighted the best spots to visit based on where we were staying.

The gateway into PEI is on the first exit right after you cross the 12.9 km span of the Confederation bridge. It has gift shops, an information center, and washrooms. Also explains a bit about the bridge. Looks like they've turned this former ferry town of Borden into it's own tourist area with interesting shops and food places.

The center itself is a nice cool place to relax. But it will be packed lots of tourists stop here after driving across the long confederation bridge. Its a very pretty rustic town great place to stretch the legs. But look out for traffic and like wise pedestrians its always packed in the summer and parking is very sparse. There is also lots of tour buses that stop here so it can get crowded quick. Its a nice stop but there are better centers speckled around pei and better gift shops. But its worth at least one stop.

It's a fun little tourist trap. I wish it was better laid-out to force you through it on the way out instead of on the way in. When entering, we had to go through but weren't ready to buy anything. On the way out we had to go in backwards and u-turn to get back onto the bridge. Seems designed wrong.

Thought the building was very nice however the woman working this evening driving the white vehicle was inconsiderate and down right rude. I was having stomach issues and needed to use the rest room not 3-5 minutes after having gone in the bathroom she came in and stated I needed to hurry up as the building was closed and she was leaving... She then waited outside the stall. She then stayed in the bathroom and watched me wash my hands. Never been so uncomfortable or so humiliated to have someone accompany me while in the bathroom

Not what I remember. It use to have an interpretation center that showed off PEIs well known cultural icons. Now it is strictly an info center with pamphlets and a gift shop. The inside looks run down and the bathrooms are not being cared for at all.

It's a good first stop when you enter or exit PEI. Plenty of washrooms (although not the cleanest), and plenty of space to stretch your legs and park for a bit. There's a small gift shop and a tourist information centre here as well in the same building. Do be careful though, it closes at 6pm some days and isn't open between January and May!
