This was my favorite experience out of Skydiving and a Helicopter tour. It's much more involved and scenic. The water was super cold and refreshing, and you could even drink it (I did). Our guide Dave was awesome and so was our group. I think I've found something I will take up from this experience!

Well organised and enjoyable day out. Once you've signed a waiver that absolves them of any responsibility if you get hurt or killed, you get burgers and a drink to set you up for the rapids. Dave O was a perfect guide, and took us through all the safety dos and don'ts with regulation guide humour thrown in for good measure. All equipment and clothing is supplied, apart from bathing suit and towels, though they can be bought on location. The rapids were fun, wet and thrilling. Dave was always ready to offer information about the local environment. Great fun.

Our guide was Jaro and we went during the beginning of the rafting season this year. Hydra river guides is the only rafting company i've been with who actually let you jump into the water at a calm part of the rides, to feel how cold the river actually is and for the other people on the boat experience lifting you back in! Don't forget the AMAZING barbecue, although we ate before hand we couldn't keep our hands off! It was such a fun experience and I'll definitely be coming back again!

This was awesome! I hosted a couple from Toronto who wanted to try white water rafting for the first time. We went in early June when the water was very high. Checking in was very easy and they have a well serviced property on the river including a large round wood building to warm up in on the cold days. The adventure starts off with an included burger lunch, which we opted not to have (Although it looked delish!). They went over a very detailed and thorough safety talk and then suited us up for rafting and we were on a raft with 4 other people. We had a nice easy float down the river and the guide engaged us all in friendly chatter. We got into different sections of the river that had exciting rapids and waves and it was great to see the mountains from a new perspective. Thanks to our guide Dave for making it such a great day! This would be an excellent activity for a group in Banff, bachelorette party, or girls weekend (Rafting guides are way hotter than strippers, just saying).

You can not beat the scenery, thrill and company. The guides are safety conscious and make sure you have a great time. Our guide, Dave E, kept us laughing and ensured we all knew exactly what to do in any situation that could arise. The camp itself has all the facilities one needs. I'd recommend anyone to go with Hydra River Guides!

Great experience end to end. Easy booking in town and then we drove ourselves out to their remote location. Guide was super friendly and knowledgeable local Dave. Justin gave an entertaining safety talk. Sweet. Pretty good rapids. Lots of fun.

Great experience on the river today. Very organized and comfortable setting start to finish. Everyone on raft got to know each other a bit and share some laughs. Our guide Kristin was engaging and knowledgable and made trip enjoyable. Well worth drive from Banff and would recommend!

We loved our tour! The river was extremely high but the guides made us feel comfortable and did an excellent job explaining safety and what to do in a variety of scenarios. It was a cooler day but we kept warm with all the gear they provided us with. Will absolutely be recommending to friends and family looking for a thrilling afternoon!

What an amazing place to go! All staff are super friendly, well organized and funny! Great for anyone who has never been rafting! Hydra River Guides provide a safe and fun white water rafting experience for everyone to enjoy. They have proper procedures in place for physical safety and have safe practices regarding covid. Dave was a fantastic guide who was engaging and created a very friendly environment for our group.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Horrible customer service...they don’t care about their customers. Half of the reviews are put up by local guides not even customers. They can’t get real people to say good things. We booked this through Travelocity 3 months in advance for August 1, 2019. We booked 6 adults and 1 child (13) celebrating my in-laws 46 year anniversary of their honeymoon in Banff National park. The voucher that was provided from Travelocity mentioned nothing of their 90 lbs policy, only their over age 11 policy. After we had lunch (a pre-cooked, re heated hamburger on their “BBQ” grill, some pasta salad, potatoes salad and a “two bite” brownie and drinks (lemonade in a 5 gallon jug) - definitely not worth it) the guide said my daughter wasn’t over 90 lbs. Where it was important that we would have an entire family adventure I asked for a refund. Hydra (the guide in charge) said they would allow a 1 hour float trip for my daughter and 1 adult and they could wait around for the rest that went on the 3 hour rafting trip. He would not refund our money. I showed him my voucher from Travelocity and it said nothing about a weight restriction. He said, “well it says it right here on our brochure and on our website.” I said I didn’t even know it was Hydra Rafting until we showed up there as it said Kicking Horse Rafting & lunch included on the voucher. He said, “you’ll have to take it up with Travelocity”. They refused to refund once Travelocity contacted them even though we didn’t use any of their rafting services, or resources. Bottom line , go somewhere else. These guys are a sham with their false advertising, poor customer services, and bad food. Probably why they only have 23 reviews

You must do your white water rafting with this company. The instructors are experienced, humorous and put you at ease. I was a bit nervous listening to the safety talk but once your on the river is incredible. Lunch was included and my partner loved the cheeseburger, salads and brownies. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. Shannon our bus driver was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of useful hints on the drive to the river. Our instructor River Santa was the best rafting guide, he was fabulous. Can't recommend enough

Very enjoyable morning out. A little bit put off initially by the large numbers going out together, but once in the boat had a great time. Our guide (Justin) clearly had our safety as a priority, and clearly knew the river. All of the team had good banter, very funny!

We had a blast on our Rafting Trip! Great for everyone of all abilities. All of the guides seem to enjoy what they do and have a good time interacting with everyone. Lunch was yummy and perfect since we drove that morning from Canmore. We did the Ultimate Tour and it was perfect. We had two different guides and it felt like two different trips entirely. Check them out! Highly recommend them. You'll have a great time.

We booked the Kickinghorse River Tour at chinook than (without telling) we got the hydra company. It was a family River driving... Not really a White Water Rafting! They say it is 2-2,5 Hours on the River... it is 1 hour on the river. BBQ? Yeah,.... one burger (nothing special) and the „dessert“ is a mini-muffin... So you get a different company, a wrong Tour, just a Bit on the River and not really nice Food Spend your money for other things!!

Tried our first time white water rafting with Hydra and we had such a blast! Our tour guide Sam definitely made a difference as we had other tour guides that sucked, he seemed like a genuine guy who really likes what he does. They also provided free lunch which was awesome, my partner and I are definitely trying the longest version with Hydra the next time we go to Banff again!

Great experience-had a little bit of everything in levels of difficulty but felt safe the entire time. The guides are professional but still allowed for a lot of fun. Our guide Erik was excellent. It was our first time and based on this experience we would go rafting again.

We're a group of 10,and we're divided into 2 groups.( 2 boats) All i can say was that WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! It was an awesome experienced .The rapids are crazy, our guide is LUKE, he's awesome well experienced.The lunch was yummy, and hydra staff are all very accomodating.I'm reccomending HYDRA RIVER GUIDES for those who wanted to experience the awesome, fun white water rafting experience just like we had.????????
