Thanks for the great memories!
Amazing service highly recommend
Always a great experience with Banff Adventures! The staff are friendly and super helpful, the prices are very reasonable, and if you're looking to enjoy your visit to Banff, they've got plenty of tours and suggestions for you. Highly recommend!
You wana have beginner ski lessons (5star), tubing(5star), they got it all. Beginner ski lessons start @ $99 per person for 2hrs, which is great value for your money. We even booked horse sleigh with them, which was nice (3star) . Overall great experience with 3 activities.
If you want to go on an Adventure in Banff, this is the best place to go! The staff are friendly and helpful and can help you find what you're looking for or suggest the best tours for you. They offer a variety of activities including ones that are located outside of Banff such as dogsledding, snowmobiling, and rafting (These activities are not typically permitted within the National Park).
This location is a little misleading on Google maps. It's directly behind the cabin building call "Engel And Volkers" other than that. We had very friendly staff member and a little bit of paper work. Thanks so much xoox! We will be back.
Had a great experience today at Johnston Canyon! Mark, our tour guide and driver was Wonderful. Despite the cold weather, he gave us an amazing experience and provided us with lots of facts and information! Thank you again mark!!
Unfortunately, we Booked a white water tour with this company for our family. The googlemaps gave me location of their office which was not the location unfortunately. Received extremely rude response from the company and basically told to get lost. They refused to help our family and refused to even give us a chance to speak with actual tour provider. Apl we wanted was to reschedule or at least get partial credit.. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE RUDE HEARTLESS PEOPLE!!!! THEY TOOk PLEASURE IN RUINING OUR VACATION.
Staff was really rude and did not know how to treat customers well. Instead of resolving customer’s questions they started to argue with them.
Rented a pair of ice cleats from here. Easy pickup, helpful staff to explain all the details and instructions, and easy return. All for a reasonable daily price of $15.
Had a great experience today at Johnston Canyon! Mark, our tour guide and driver was Wonderful. Despite the cold weather, he gave us an amazing experience and provided us with lots of facts and information! Thank you again mark!!
Did the Johnston Canyon walk with guide Andrew! It was super fun and Andrew was a great guide - it was snowing almost the entire time and his driving were great and safety instructions was super nice and really appriaciated. He had so many fun stories about the canyon and we learnt a lot of fun facts! Would never had been able to do this hike without the tour due to the snow/access and we're very glad to have gone! Props to Andrew for being awesome!
TOTAL SCAM! Very poor communication, and then tried to change our trip and charge us more despite having already booked a cheaper option and having an email confirmation. Avoid at all costs.
Friendly knowledgeable staff lovely tour
Great place to hire outdoor activities and adventures in the region.
Lovely place to do plenty of outdoor activities, canoeing on the lake was really a memorable experience
Wow nice
I rented a full suspension bike which was nice. Banff Adventures really needs to have a bike tech or trained staff on duty to help with set-up. The staff did not know anything about bikes or setup and barely had the correct tools for me to use to set it up correctly otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
So happy I have been going through these guys! Amazing staff who are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Prices are also very accommodating. Highly recommend anyone to go here!

Ladies were so helpful, took there time explaining adventures we could do, asp helped with local walks and what equipment we would need at this time of year
So I traveled with a group of friend, I brought my own bike and half of my group rented e-bikes here and the other half rented more expensive one at Banff Cycle, near the train station. Since we rented around 2pm and could possibly not make it back from Johnston Canyon to return the bike, so we asked the lady if we could return them a bit later than closing hour, she replied you could but give them a call beforehand. We could not make it back on time so we called on our way back, 30 minutes before closing and they rushed us. When we returned they charged for one extra day and threaten us if the bike was damaged (it was not) we could get charged thousands. They were at our face the entire time with a hassle attitude and a raised voice, they did not let us explain. Then they charged my friend extra fee for being late, when they already charged for one extra day???? I could just hold the bike for another day and returned it. Were friendly when we rented but very bad attitude when we returned. The other half of my group was late to return as well but they were so kind and friendly, handled everything professionally. They did not charge extra and in the end we paid more here than in Banff Cycle. The customer service here is extremely poor and lacking. I highly not recommended and will not return here ever again.
Banff Adventures messed up our lunch order when booking our hike with Discover Banff Tours. Book directly with Discover Banff Tours.
Just the last phone call I received was very unpleasant.
Friendly staff and they have lots of good deals to offer!
I love Banff, and I love Lake Louise. I’ve lived in both places in my early twenties and never felt the need to leave a one star review for any local business because I know the importance to leave excellent feedback to support our locals! However, I am unfortunately not impressed with Banff Adventures at this time. We rented cross country skis for my partners birthday. With covid-19 still looming over all of us we thought getting out for the first time in awhile would be nice, especially in the mountains. We asked the customer service rep Cara for trail recommendations. She was lovely, very full of energy. She suggested Spray River, and she also suggested the free parking.. which was wonderful! The skis we rented were new. We declined the waiver because we honestly felt an hour and a half wasn’t long and nothing terrible would happen. The trail that was recommended was sh*t. It was extremely rocky, icy and not completely covered in a few spots. We didn’t do the entire trail because it wasn’t a good idea. We ended up taking our skis off and walking around the area instead. After returning the rentals we received a phone call regarding the skis being in treacherous conditions. One pair had a small hole in it. It didn’t puncture fully thru the ski. We take full responsibility for that as mistakes happen and sometimes you miss where you poke the ground.. we weren’t upset to pay that repair fee..which by the way only needs to be filled with a resin ...but what I don’t fancy is that they said both skis were unsellable due to severe scratches on the bottom and sides. Cara’s verbiage was a bit dramatic in my opinion. She made it sound like we completely destroyed the skis into pieces. We had no idea they were that “severely” damaged when we returned them. The point is please don’t have front of house staff recommending trails to customers if they truly and honestly have no clue what type of condition the trails are in. We took Cara’s word and headed out there because she said it was great and double tracked. You need to have knowledgable staff working in these tour company’s who get out regularly on these trails so they can provide positive and true feedback, otherwise it will fall back onto the business for providing false information which always leads to bad reviews as well as bad word of mouth reviews. It’s not fair and it is not professional. My partner and I are now having to owe Banff Adventures $300.00. This feels wrong and like a robbery. I would not recommend this business for the simple fact that we were given information about a recommended trail that wasn’t good that ended up costing us $300.00 plus tax. Update: We later found out that even if we had of purchased the insurance we would have still had to pay money for what they said they would consider “wear and tear” on the bottom of the skis. I am huge on reviews and reviewing companies.. I am not looking to bash any business. I just want to provide my honesty and let others know they should tread carefully with this business.
With our family vacationing in Banff all the options can be overwhelming. Banff Adventures was the perfect choice - the staff are friendly & knowledgeable and handled all of our bookings with care! Don't work yourself up trying to figure out your stay in Banff - leave it to these guys, they're experts! Thanks so much!
4 day vacation in Banff this summer, first three days spent on spectacular hikes - plain of six glaciers, inkpots, bow lake. Was wondering if there is a different way of experiencing the alpine beauty, and got a recommendation on Via Ferrat at Mt Norquay, which was a short 20 min drive from our Banff resort. Went ahead and did the ridge walk route Via Ferrata. Based on available info, it appeared anyone could do it with basic mobility and skills, reality was something totally different. Fortunately, my younger daughter and myself were able to finish this hike up and down the mountain. I have to say, this was one of the best experiences in life for me, exhilarating, working yourself up along narrow (a foot at times) paths staring at hundreds of feet of vertical view right down and similarly mountain sides up above. We even saw a mountain goat! Definitely challenging physically requiring some endurance, but, absolutely worth it! The guide, Sara, was awesome and very patient and knowledgeable, striking good conversations all along. My thumb rule, if you can do a decent 5k run and can climb ladders easily, and have enough strength to pull yourself up using hands and legs, you can try this.
Highly recommend this company for activities in Banff, arrived at the centre for the white water rafting and must say the safety demo before going on the raft was informative but delivered in a fun way by the guide, the actual rafting experience itself was brilliant , the guide in our boat was brilliant, instructed us all to keep us safe and made the journey enjoyable by constantly engaging with us all and giving us an extra geography lesson about the surrounding area, would love to do it again when I eventually return to Canada
Johnston's Canyon. Bring your ice cleats in early winter, late winter it is usually a foot or so deep in snow so you won't need them. Beautiful must do hike in any season
X Country Ski Rental - We all rented skis from Banff Adventures, they were great quality, brand new, easy pick up/drop off process and lots of fun times! Thanks again!
They created confusion on our tour timing, messing up our day. We booked a cave adventure for 1215, and the agent even planned out the rest of the day with us. Luckily I looked at the tickets and the timing there was different so I called to check. I was told my booking was for 10, and there was no tour starting at 1215. Was it a scam to part us with our money? They did even apologise. We did not even have time to get some breakfast before the 6 hour long hike. Good experience turned bad.
(Translated) The quality of rental bikes is the best. I went to Vermilion Lakes while jumping elegantly and happily with the full suspension of a mountain bike. (Original) レンタルバイクの質が最高。 マウンテンバイクのフルサスペンションで優雅に楽しく跳ねながらバーミリオンレイクスに行きました。
I truly enjoyed myself
Uncomfortable skates. Super helpful and friendly staff though.
Great experience, scenic views
Excellent bike rental service! Bikes are high-quality and well maintained. It's a little bit pricey.
Booked a snowmobile tour in Golden BC, and had the best time. The staff at banff adventures took care of us very well. The tour arrived on time treated us great. We had the best time on the tour through White n Wild tours in Golden. Tour includes a BBQ Lunch and marshmallows / Smores over and open fire too.We got dropped back off at our hotel in Banff. Excellent value for the dollar you pay.fantastic and would do this again! Thanks Banff Adventures, awesome experience!
I spoke with Cara on the phone she was really helpful. Gave great suggestions and recommendations.
Booked xcountry skis with Banff Adventures. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. They really took the time to ensure the boots were the right fit, and gave lots of advice on trails to try out. I had booked with Banff Adventures in the past for a snowmobiling trip for my husband and his friends, and had also received service that I felt was over and above. They asked lots of questions to make sure the trip I was booking was suitable to what my husband and friends were looking for. I highly recommend them, as they take time to listen, and help you create a true adventure, instead of just selling you a package.
The experience was fantastic, there was no queue to get setup with some skates, Kara was so lovely, even showed us the web cam of Lake Louise so we knew it how busy it was! 10/10 would book through Banff Adventures again when I return!
Was a great bang for my buck
So I traveled with a group of friend, I brought my own bike and half of my group rented e-bikes here and the other half rented more expensive one at Banff Cycle, near the train station. …
The best
Scam. Was sold zipline package and had to drive 2 hours from Banff to BC to get there. I could have bought it cheaper from the zipline company.
5 stars for our amazing guide Katsu who took us through the Via Ferrata experience! We had such a great time, the views were beautiful on our path, and Katsu did an excellent job explaining everything, engaging with us, and making sure everyone was having fun. Thank you Banff Adventures & Katsu for an unforgettable experience.
Great equipment and customer service
Friendly approach really helpful staff.
My partner and I rented equipment from Banff Adventures two weeks ago and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Cara, one of the women working the front desk, enthusiastically provided assistance to us over the phone and in person. The whole rental process was seamless and we had a great time using our ice cleats on Grotto Canyon. When my partner unfortunately sprained his ankle on our first day, Banff Adventures issued us a full refund for the equipment we had rented for the subsequent days despite the short notice cancellation. I highly recommend this location for your rental needs. Knowledgable friendly staff who are determined to help you enjoy your stay in Banff! Thanks Cara and Becky for your help in making our Valentine's weekend in the mountains memorable. Jasmine
Booked a horseback ridingtrip and company didnt tell us there was a weight limit and would not give us a refund even though the employee didn t tell us. *** STAY AWAY****
Best Tour Company! Can book anything you can do!
Very helpful staff.
The real challenge here is finding parking at Lake Minnewanka. BA offers a bunch of great options for getting out on the water, staff is friendly and helpful but it can get really busy, so I recommend getting there early! No experience required, just some common sense - nice wide open waters to paddle around in with amazing scenery!
My family of 3 (2 middle-aged adults and a 20 year old) rented bikes from here for 2 1-hour time slots. I’m only 5 ft tall and they had a bike that fit me perfectly. The prices here are UNBEATABLE: $9 American Dollars per hour for a cruising bike! We took them down a shared road (both cars and bikes allowed) past a few lakes and saw the first black bear we’ve seen so far after spending 9 days all over National Parks and lakes. It was in between the 1st 2 lake stops on the right hand side before a hill. It was about 20 ft away from us in a forest eating berries. Would definitely rent here again!!! Very nice employees too.
(Translated) We rented some bikes and everything is right (Original) Alquilamos unas bicis y todo correcto
(Translated) Very good tours and professionals, I loved the attention. Punctuality all excellent (Original) Muy buenos tours y profesionales, me encantó la atención. Puntualidad todo excelente
We had injury in the group and they were very considerate and flexible to get us rescheduled on the wildlife safari and horseback riding adventures.
This place offers great packages. They even worked with us to get us exactly what we wanted. They're heights and sights package didn't have the option of the gondola but they gave it to us instead of the chairlift. So worth the extra $25.
Knowledgeable, friendly staff! They offer some amazing adventures! I highly recommend canoeing, rafting the Kicking Horse, glacier tour, and gondala up Mount Norquay. Although we can't control Mother Nature and didn't see a ton of animals on the wildlife safari it was very informative and scenic! Banff Adventures helped make our trip easier and more memorable!
Stunning views + Friendly & helpful staff!
Very odd sales techniques. We went just to hire cleats and from the start the sales assistant made us feel like their gear was prone to breaking and that if it did we would be liable. When questioned on why I would hire something that is not reliable he didn't provide a convincing explanation. His example of a break is if a customer steps on a flexible bar when putting them on which breaks, that is covered. But yet the insurance bought doesn't cover incorrect use which this example sounds like. The whole insurance for breakages was confusing and unnecessary if they just included the $3 automatically. I was happy to hire cleats but I wasn't expecting to be told that their gear often breaks and that I should buy insurance in case their gear breaks. Fyi they will take a physical imprint of your credit card which is archaic and concerning as it's not like a hotel who will not keep a record after any hold is released.
Rented some mountain bikes and rode around banff and local trails. Easy rental process, great bikes!
I would recommend booking with Banff Adventures! Booking process was so easy and the staff very helpful! We had a fantastic time at the Hockey! (Calgary Flames won! Woooo!) Thank you for providing us with such a unique Canadian experience for New Years Eve.
Loved the brand new waxless cross country skis I rented! Really enjoyed them and chatting with the team. Cara is fantastic and had great trail suggestions. Highly recommend, team knows Banff and Kananaskis area really well :)
Such an easy online booking process.
Rented some gear for a day adventure on our own. Rates were great and we noted that the equipment we rented was of higher quality than some other shops for the same price. If you need some gear, give them a try.
Staff was so cool. I had a blast!
Banff Adventures was the perfect choice! They were wonderful to work with. The companies they selected for our excursions were the best! Becky our contact was so accommodating. She educated us on different options, how to prepare, and kept us updated along the way. We snowmobiled for a full day in Golden, toured Johnson Canyon, and did the sleigh ride in the town of Banff. We’re a family of 4 - our kids are 24 and 19 years old. All of our tour guides were fantastic. Curtis and Lars were incredible on our snowmobile tour. Their personalities were a perfect fit for our family. So much fun. Mark was wonderful on our Johnson Canyon tour. He had so much knowledge and was a joy to spend several hours with. Don’t forget to say hello to Doc at Warner Stables where we did the sleigh ride. He’s a 21 year old horse that greets everyone coming into the stables. What a cuddle bug! Thank you Banff Adventures for a lifetime of memories from this trip!
very friendly and helpful staff
Wow!!! First class customer service. I booked my trip at the last moment and the front desk was extremely helpful. They even helped me reschedule my Brewster bus for a later time. The actual tour through Johnston Canyon was breathtaking. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the park and gave us a trip to remember!
Excellent customer service! I have booked two tours with Banff Adventures and booking my tours was easy and the staff were very helpful! The information that comes via email is very helpful and the reminder the day before the tour is great!! Thanks for helping me to have some excellent adventures in the Rockies.
Although we loved our rafting trip with Hydra Rafting that Banff Adventurers booked for us, customer service was POOR in the office. Under direction of the Banff Adventures staff, we parked in a spot behind the Mount Royal Hotel before our rafting trip. When we returned to our car, we had a $50 parking ticket. While we understand now that the lot was designated to the hotel only, the Banff Adventures company lead us to be believe that there was an understanding between the company and hotel. Unfortunately, this incident is not isolated to our own misunderstandings as 3 other groups were issued tickets after receiving and following the same instruction. When we went back to the store front with the ticket, the company told us they were not liable since the parking signs said 3 hour parking. However, the company mislead us and several other customers and is not taking responsibility.
They have quite few good packages options, reasonably priced. The snow tubing was great ????????
I did a atv/zipline in 2016 and I was wondering if this is your business . I would love to do it again
Great company!
Great Experience. We did the Snow Shoe trip to Fortress Mountain via Snow Cat. It was quite strenuous for my older parents (67, & 65) , but they did great and the views made it all worthwhile. Thanks to the guide Alex who pushed everyone along and was easy going. Will use them in the future for any mountain adventures, summer or winter!
It all starts of with my dad planing this trip, he spent lots and lots of time making it happen, but when it was time to go, unfortunately we arrived to their office which was not the meet up location. My dad tried to explain what happened and asked if they can do anything for him like rebook or even give small credit for new booking. Sadly they didn’t care about us and where very rude. My dad was left devastated. Conclusion now I know that Banff Adventures is only after your money.
My cousin booked a Canmore heli-tour at Alpine Heilcoptors as an end of summer present for the two of us. The first day we were scheduled, the company called to cancel two hours before the flight due to high winds. We rebooked for the next day. Unfortunately traffic in Calgary was going to make us late so we called an hour ahead to let them know we couldn't be there in time. So the flight was rescheduled for today. I left work early to beat the traffic and we arrived ten minutes early. When we checked in, the lady at the front desk let us know that ALL flights had been cancelled due to smoke in the area. Noone from Banff Adventures bothered to call and blamed Alpine for not notifying them of further flight cancellations. Long story short, my cousin will get a full refund, but nothing was offered to compensate us for the three hour round trip drive and the lack of anyone calling was summed up as a miscommunication. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your fun in the Rockies if this company doesn't care enough about your time to warn you of cancellations.
Currently left stranded at my second pickup location. Was told to make it here by 8:30am to be picked up. Waited outside at 8:28am while bus left without me. Awful communication. No refund for the 178AUD spent on booking. The second pickup was arranged after I had missed the bus at my hostel. Pickup was at 8:10am and I was outside by at least 8:11am. I’m told Banff Adventure’s bus driver didn’t even go onto the hostel before he left. Moose Travel Network was kind enough to help get me to the second pickup location contrary to the ridiculous expectations. I’m devastated. It feels like my heart’s been ripped out. **Update edit** The agent on my case had been responsive and diligent to pursue this issue over the course of a few days. I wasn’t 15 minutes early for departure and that’s why the bus driver could leave. Arriving at 8:10 when departure is at 8:10 means you’re technically late. I wouldn’t want to be late returning for the bus at a destination stop in case the same logic is applied. Sad to say, from what I’ve experienced with Banff Adventures I can’t really recommend them since I’m prone to human error and rely on small graces to get through life.
Great place to rent bikes!
We did the Via Ferrata through Banff Adventures, and OMG such a good experience. Definitely once in a lifetime!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for something fun and challenging
Stoked happy with our decision to go to the cave tour in Canmore in mid November. Not a lot else is available, but if you are looking for a fantastic way to see something different, do this tour. Well worth the money, and Brent, our tour guide, was an absolute encyclopaedia, and a friendly one at that! Brent absolutely helped enhance the experience tenfold. Would do again!
I rented some cross country skis over the weekend and both the product and customer service was incredible! The equipment was ready on my arrival and staff were so friendly & knowledgeable. The cross country skis and boots appeared to be brand new and made the experience SO much better...as I hadn't skied in years! Thank you Banff Adventures; look forward to renting winter equipment from you again ~
We booked our rafting trip through Banff Adventures this summer and had a great experience! Booking was fast and easy and the staff were knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. Not to mention our river guide was so much fun! The team there took care of everything. I would highly recommend!
Rented cross country gear for the day and the service was so fast and friendly, excellent quality equipment that looked brand new. I booked a rafting trip with these guys last summer as well and that was also fantastic. Thanks Banff Adventures!
Great tour. Picked up right at the hotel, and the small group of us then travelled to Lake Louise spending time on the trails there before heading to Lake Moraine - which was the highlight of the trip. Nice climb to the lookout point and the lake is spectacular! Keith our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining with his info on the history of the area.
Quick service! Very friendly and accommodating.
The wildlife tour is waste of money
Staff are extremely helpful getting us booked in for Dog Sledding when it seems everyone else is sold out! Thank you for all your help and providing amazing suggestions of other activities while we were here!
Amazing quick service !! Very friendly and helpful
Very odd sales techniques. We went just to hire cleats and from the start the sales assistant made us feel like their gear was prone to breaking and that if it did we would be liable. Evening wildlife safari isn't worth the money. We had a nicest enough guide, but we could tell he wasn't seasoned. We learned a lot from a previous outing with the same company on a day trip. The driver we had either exaggerated the information or seemed to make it up.
The company has a good variety of travel tours as a 3rd party booking site. There was an issue with transport on the first trip but the key thing is the company dealt with the issue in a manner that left me completely satisfied. A key marker is how your handle the customer and I felt very fairly treated. I would use this company the next time i come out to banff. thanks
Great customer service. Trendy building interior. Decent prices. Would return for future business.
I highly recommend Banff Adventures. A visit to Banff Adventures is a necessity when vacationing in the area. I rented equipment (ice clamps and ice skates) while visiting. The store was well equipped with many sizes available to ensure that everyone in our group was taken care of. The equipment was high quality, comfortable and cared for. In addition, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The Banff Adventures team even advised us on booking a tour which went smoothly and was very enjoyable! If you’re looking for adventure in Banff, coupled with top notch customer service – this is the place!
Had a great experience!
We popped in to discover if there were any tours available. The staff was nice and helpful, picked up the phone to confirm spots etc. We ended up not booking anything but that was because we had only limited time for our desired activity.
Great, friendly and fast service! Would highly recommend.
Cara at Banff Adventures was amazing! We aren’t big skiers so only planned one day skiing but had 6 days to fill. Cara helped us plan the rest of our time in Banff making sure we saw the highlights, from the Gondola, dog sledding, Johnston Canyon and snowshoeing as well as recommending great places to eat and relax. Very knowledgeable and we had the best vacation! We will be back in summer!
I DO NOT recommend. I called to book canoeing on Lake Louise. The man on the phone said he would book it for me right then and there, and I ended up booking a package including horseback riding and the Banff Gondola. Everything was great on the phone and I couldn't wait for the experience. When I arrived in their office to collect the tickets, they said my canoeing was on the river behind town. I tried to explain that I had booked it on Lake Louise and had specifically asked for it on the phone, and that's what I had been sold. They said they didn't know how I had booked that package as it didn't exist and they didn't offer anything at Lake Louise and that I was wrong, with no other explanation on how this could have happened. When I asked to speak to the manager I was met with the brattiest woman who had nothing to say to me except that I was wrong and there was nothing she would do for us, it wasn't their fault, and that was that. I asked for a refund on the canoe rental since it wasn't what I had actually purchased. She offered me $10 back after I had spent $264 for the package. I tried to find a better solution than that but after having spent an hour in their store on my only day in Banff, I gave up and settled on her new "generous" offer of a $24 refund and went on to try and enjoy the rest of the day, but was still very let down by the absolute disappointment of Banff Adventures. The manager was extremely belittling and condescending, and had no idea how to treat someone. She continuously smirked her way through our conversation and had attitude filled responses to everything I said. I was shocked at the way things unfolded. Completely unwilling to even entertain the idea that something went wrong on their end. Unless you feel like getting scammed, having your time wasted, and being sneered by the worst manager in customer service history, don't come here. ** In response to your reply: Like I said, I didn't book it online, so it doesn't matter whether its advertised there or not. I booked it over the phone, what matters is that I was told by your employee that I was receiving canoeing on Lake Louise. The confirmation said canoeing, yes. However it didn't say canoeing on Bow River. I was unaware that the location of my canoe trip was going to magically change the moment I paid.
We had the most amazing holiday in Banff!!! We have been on a 5 week trip across Canada, U.S.A & U.K seeing some of the worlds most iconic landmarks and sights but it was our time in Banff the is the cherry on top, White water rafting the adrenaline rush was amazing, the tour guides knowledge and the staff made us comfortable and confident we was in for an amazing day out and it never failed, saftey brief was great and had a fun aspect to it, beautiful bbq laid on as well. Our guide on the raft Justin was just the best!!! 10/10 We done Via ferrata...... WOW!!!! it's a must, the views and the experience was off the scale we felt completely safe the whole time 10/10 !!! Mountain glacier and skywalk was such a great trip our guide Michael was so funny and so cool 10/10 ATV driving in the mountains was a blast getting in amongst the bush and dirt tracks was so much fun 10/10 Banff is one of the most amazing places to visit and i can't wait to book again, Scott and the whole team at Banff adventures we thank you so much.
I booked an activity, paid for the activity in full, only to receive an email that they are already fully booked. They allow you to book activities even though they don't have anymore availability. Unless you want to waste your time and money, don't book with Banff Adventures. They will just ruin your itinerary and take your money.
I went on the Rocky Mountain Riders snowmobile tour through Banff Adventures and it was a fantastic experience - one of the highlights of my time in Alberta. I also booked a Snowy Owl dog sledding tour, which was amazing. Banff Adventures were great to deal with and the booking process was smooth and easy - I received an email straight away with all the details for the tours. Would definitely recommend for activity planning in Banff!
This Regarding Head Office - Girls/Employees working On the tour where excellent. After investigation from my card company, I received credit card refund recently . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I called Banff Adventures tour location (BA) on Sept 10 2020. I talked to head young supervisor Cara. I explained my situation with my experience with Horseback Trail Tour I had purchased. And I expressed kindly on phone, I was not happy. and gave my reason which I will explain shortly. “Sure, she said, let me see what I can do and I’ll get back you.” Thinking she is discussing with the owner or manger, BA decision was NO they would not issue refund. After politely insisting on the this cant be final say and I wish to talk to owner or head office Manger directly. Cara would not give me this information and expressed this was unprofessional and deceptive business tactics. There is always final say of hierarchy, I expressed. They must have head office. After Few Minutes later I find out from her Cara, she was talking to Discovery Banff Tours (DT) young supervisor. I said what does DT have to do with this. Apparently , DT bills BA for these horseback tours. So together, they (young supervisors) made the decision. with no hierarchy aware of my experience. Later, I Google head office locations for both DT and BA in Banff or near and nothing available. That peaked my attention that, these 2 companies are not credible and there decision are always no. So now, I'm confused and feel like I'm getting the run around. .....who do I go to?.... so first I went to DT ....Stacey young supervisor at DT. I expressed my situation and yet she said NO to a refund. I expressed, I understand not everyone can get a refund for not liking and experience. But do not feel as human being I have valid reason. I was not taking in beautiful environment of Banff and all I was doing was pulling on up on the horse though out the ride. Do you really feel that is fair. Isn't part of the experience of seeing lies in front of you and not down next to you. I asked her honestly close your eyes and visualize this pulling up on a huge horse. I said let be reasonable and both compromise, I asked for 50% discount so I can be on my way and close this and she refused. Ok I said Please give your head office number and email. And she refused. I wont deny this aggravated me and my volume of voice went up few times, that she was being unprofessional and deceptive. I asked if there was hierarchy then her and she said, YES. So I said give me info, so I can leave. She would not. I really was dumfounded why she would not disclose head office number so I personally can express my experience and they get the full picture.. “NO” she said and she would call the police. I said I'm not doing nothing wrong “go ahead and call the police”. In the mean the old guy was hearing us and this and got in my face and I'm not kidding wanted to fight me. I could not believe this was happening and I said call to Stacey call the police. Finally police came, all was fine. I expressed to poilce, DT is being deceptive and I came to get refund and get important head office info which they would not give. So I can deal with this in Ontario. RCMP did there thing (report) and we all left are ways. So I went to Jasper few days. When I came Back to Banff, I went to BA and went to see Cara asked refund. And had heard of the incident at DT. I said I have not nothing wrong and both of tours and not wiling to disclose head office number or emails. Something is wrong with that. There should be final resolution I expressed. She claims she passed it on to the head office and they said NO. But I have no evidence and they may of gotten biased and distorted information. Later...my Card company did an investigation, I received a refund.
I can’t recommend Banff Adventures highly enough. I booked an ATV tour, white water rafting and a Lake Louise & Lake Moraine tour with them during my recent trip to Banff. All three activities were absolutely amazing and great value for money. The customer service was excellent, the staff were extremely friendly, and they went over and above for us to make our trip special. I will definitely be back to Banff and will be booking all my activities with Banff Adventures!
Yesterday I did the Johnston Canyon Ice Walk with tour guide, Neil. He was prompt to pick us up, very friendly and highly knowledgeable. The walk was enjoyable and a beautiful sight to see. Only moderately challenging but gives you a good sweat. The price is excellent as it includes pickup, drop off, ice cleats and poles, a snack and hot chocolate as well as educational tidbits. I definitely recommend Neil and this tour. I will certainly be using Banff Adventures for my next excursion.
I recently rented some Cross Country Skis from Banff Adventures, and have rented equipment from them before. Awesome service and good price. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about finding the right fitting equipment for my group. We were recommended a beginner trail from the staff there, and it was perfect for our skill level. Had a great experience!
Nice place to window shop
I was originally booked for the winter wonderland lake Louise tour but due to low number I was switched to the “Discover Lake Louise (winter)” tour! The staff were super helpful when switching my tour and I had no problem with it because I really just wanted to see lake Louise :)! Our tour guide Anick was this amazing French-Canadian with a wicked sense of humour! She kept the tour light and fun but informative. Never a dull moment with Anick!!! I would love to come back and go on another tour with her. We had a great time in lake Louise thanks to Banff adventures but especially our lighthearted guide Anick❤️❤️
Amazing
We had such an amazing time rafting and Cara and Tanya were both so helpful in making our incredible day possible!
Booked a $2600 mountain cabin through Banff Adventures this week. The site said there was 5+ available accommodations and accepted payment in full without any issues. The next day they called and said there is no availability, so they would refund me (5 to 10 business days). They said that since they are a third party agency, they have no way to track vacancy on their website. This means that you must tie up thousands for up to two weeks just to find out that there are no spaces left.
Amazing and helpful staff. Lots of great options. Would definitely use them again!!
I wish I could give this place a zero star. We came in there well before close, and there was only 1 group ahead of us, and 4 staff walking around. I stood behind the group waiting to get helped, but no one there acknowledged me. I made eye contact with employees multiple times, and went up to the counter but I was ignored. After waiting around for half an hour I finally got served, the staff didn't apologize for the wait, or even acknowledge that I was waiting. At least I got my tour.
Sucks when you fly in to have a great weekend but they cant deliver. We booked the dog sledding and were notified a few days early that it would be cancelled due to weather. They convinced me to pay more and do the helicopter tour. We then schedule the helicopter on Saturday and plan our ski trip for Sunday. They then call us an hour before we are supposed to be in the Air and advise us that its cancelled. We came to Banff with high expectations and we are now leaving with a sour taste in our mouths and no longer want to do business with them.
Absolutely horrible customer service! Clearly not busy, and I wonder why. Poor instructions on where to meet up for our rafting trip. We showed up at the wrong location and was unfairly penalized. They booked us on the later trip but also charged us double the price. No sympathy nor grace was offered for first time customers that came from out of town. Will not be returning here, multiple other similar businesses around. And I wonder why they weren't busy.
I recently worked with Nicole who helped me put together some very special planes for a weekend. Her recommendations were perfect! She did the leg work and called around and gave me a concise bunch of great options. She recommended a few wonderful looking tours and hotels, among other things. She saved me a lot of time and obviously has an ear to the ground in Banff. THANK YOU!
We rented 2 bikes for 3 hours. One bike was hybrid (13$/hr) and the other one a ebike (electric) (15$/hr) the ladies were super kind and took there time to explain to us the different options, you add your info and give them your credit card and you get charged when you come back depending on duration. They told us that the bike and helmet (which is included) were sanitized so big plus!
We booked with Banff Adventures and couldn’t be happier. Not only did they help plan all of our activities, they were so organised and professional! I was a little indecisive and they were so accommodating. We ended up doing a few recommended activities that we wouldn’t otherwise have done. An absolute pleasure, can’t wait to come back!
I went on two trips with a couple of friends during our stay in Banff. The Evening Ice Walk was great. Robin was an awesome guide and it was cool and inspiring to learn about his background. The morning snowshoe trip to Marble Canyon was also great! Nick was also an awesome guide and great conversationalist/was very knowledgeable about our surroundings. We had a great time overall and definitely recommend.
I did a number of activities with Banff Adventures and I was absolutely blown away by their customer service and the experience I had. I went to a Calgary Hockey game - not only was the game an iconic thing to do while I visited, but Banff Adventures provided round trip transportation to Calgary (from Banff) making the trip so seamless. I also did the Johnson Canyon Icewalk tour which was a definite must do! Highly recommend them and the activities they offer!
I recently booked a tour through Banff Adventures and their staff are super lovely and knowledgeable, any question I had they knew or found out for me. Would definitely use them again!
Very cool place for dog sledding ! Great service and fun time
Had a great experience booking all of my activities with Banff Adventures. It was great to book everything in one place to make it easier to plan my stay in Banff. Staff were super helpful on the phone and great when i went to pick up my tickets in store, giving me lots of recommendations of where to go in town. Highly recommend!
We did the Johnston Canyon ice walk and it was fantastic. Our guide Matt was a wealth of information about the canyon and the surrounding ecosystem. Very informative and a lot of fun.
Found the customer service to be quite poor.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout my visit to the store. The recommendations i received for various tours were really great and their local knowledge was also above what I expected. Cheap and quality rental prices for equipment too! very impressed!
I wished I could have left a good review, I VERY RARELY leave bad reviews. This place could have been so great. But what happened today was simply ridiculous. I rented a mountain bike from here and mid ride it started “clunking” while on nice smooth trail ride. Suddenly the chain SNAPPED. I was miles from the nearest road and even further from the office of Banff Adventures. I thought I was in luck when I looked down and had cell service. Maybe I can call the company and they can pick me up once I’m at the road..... nope! I was told I would have to figure out how to get the bike back to the shop. They told me I could pay for a shuttle but it would be departing soon. Unfortunately, due to having a broken chain..... I wasn’t able to make it there. A long walk later coupled with some good ole fashion hitchhiking, I arrived at the shop. Not only were there no apologies offered, I was told I might end up being financially liable from the damage to the bike..... I informed the lady who was decently friendly (I’ll give them that) that I did nothing wrong. I was simply riding on a trail recommended by THEM, and my chain snapped. Then I was told to get the bike back one way or another. No ride, no compensation, no apology, but I might be liable for the QUALITY bike I was given.... Absolutely ridiculous. This place is a joke.
Went on the Discover Grizzly Bears tour today to meet Boo (the orphaned bear). Super fortunate that we had the opportunity to see him in his refuge almost as soon as we got there. Also super fortunate we were lucky enough to have such a KNOWLEDGEABLE tour guide- Neil. Who managed to keep the whole trip interesting. Would definitely recommend!
We booked the following Package: Upper Hot Springs, Ice Walk and Gondola. We told the people in the shop that we will be in Banff for a few days only and that we would like to do the Gondola and Hotsprings on our last day (3rd of January). Unfortunately the Hotsprings were closed that day due to technical difficulties. We called Banff Adventures and they told us that she will give us a refund for the Hotsprings. We are staying in Canmore and drove 25 minutes to get the refund. When we arrived, they told us that it's not refundable because it was a package. I was going to give them 5 stars but we had to drive 25 minutes to Banff, 10 minutes if talking to them and 25 minutes back since we're heading to the opposite direction. No refund is one thing, but telling us to come to the store to tell us that we won't get one is not cool. No thanks!
No deal going direct you will save more
Amazing
Rented 2 bikes for half a day to ride around the city and along Vermillion Lakes. The had great rates compared to a few other options we looked at in Banff. The gentlemen helping us was patient and friendly. He made sure to perform a safety check on both bikes before we took off. Unfortunately if you're short like me (5 ft) they won't have any cruiser bike options so I instead had to rent a mountain bike which is a little heavier and the seat is less comfortable. Otherwise great experience and biking along the Vermillion trails at sunset was a wonderful way to get away from the big crowds for a low key evening.
Very friendly and accommodating
Had a great time rafting - the guides were great. The facilities offered at the site were brilliant. The team took great care of us. Great day out - thoroughly recommend to all.
Went out today on the Snowshoe taster experience & it was fantastic; Meg our guide was exceptional & the group bonded immediately due to her engagement & ice breaker chats! Thx for the wonderful experience!!
There shouldn't be a booking fee when we book online
