My wife bought me the badlands tour for my birthday and it was awesome! Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable with lots of great tidbits and information about the history of Drumheller.

We took the afternoon tour in August. Excellent service! Don drove to central Drumheller to pick us up even as we were running late! Friendliest driver ever, and great tour experience. Our favourites were the Bleriot ferry, awesome scenery, the hoodoos, and the town of Wayne. During the trip, there was one segment where we decided to stay in the vehicle and rest. As it was the hottest day of late August, we later wanted to get out of the vehicle, and so we called Val at the office, and she helpfully told us how to exit the vehicle. Don also gave us some helpful tips about the city of Drumheller itself, as well as a lot of local history. Great experience!

Amazing! Don and Val are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Drumheller. They were patient with guests during the tour stops (we actually went over the time by 30 mins), and provided sufficient snacks and waterbottles for us. They are AMAZING! If going to Drumheller, they are a must!

We were fortunate to have Don and his wife as our host. Did the tour in September and it was exceptional. We were the only ones on the tour so we got extra special treatment. Don is extremely knowledgeable about the area. Very friendly and made is feel relaxed and comfortable. He comes highly recommended by me. I could not have learnt everything I did about the area had I gone on my own. If you ate looking for excellent service, look no further.

WARNING! BEWARE! We booked our tour a month in advance but Donald Johnston cancelled it the last minute. We asked for an immediate refund but won't give us our money back. It's been a week that we're trying to contact him but he won't answer our texts, calls & emails. AVOID this person!

The owners of this business are unprofessional and not trustworthy. We booked a tour in July 2021 for four for a late August 2021 departure, putting down a deposit for the full tour amount via eTransfer, as they required (they state that eTransfer is more 'secure' than credit cards, which should have been a red flag for me). Because of COVID and the impact of the wild fires, we cancelled our tour more than 3 weeks from the scheduled tour date, giving notice through email. Wild West Badlands Tours' cancellation policy is 50% of your money will be refunded if you cancel more than 2 weeks from scheduled departure. I followed up on our refund through email and voicemails (good luck getting them to answer their phone) and eventually received text messages from them acknowledging we are owed a refund, but asking for a couple of weeks' time because they 'process their refunds at the end of each month'. I gave them that time but have not heard from them since. I have left numerous voicemails, texts, and emails expecting them to follow through on their word and policies but have received no response in over 3 weeks. If a company is not willing to follow it's own policies, I wouldn't trust them with my money, and I don't think you should either.

Middle of September and we were the only ones booked . Since it was just the 2 of us Don took us in the car. Awesome tour, Don is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We learned a lot of area history and really enjoyed it. It was nice for my husband to enjoy the scenery and let someone else do the driving.

Don is the most awesome person! We absolutely loved our tour! We spent a glorious afternoon touring all over Drumheller and the surrounding area. I don't want to say too much about the areas he took us to and spoil the experience for others but these tours were incredible! There is no way we would have found or learned so much if we were on our own! I highly recommend taking both tours that are offered. Highlights are the hoodos, visiting the bison and learning of the third floor ghosts! My daughter's particularly loved feeding the ground squirrels while enjoying the badlands! Thank you very much Don!!

We came to Drumheller in late October & were really pleased to see that we could take a tour at this late date. For 3 hours we ENJOYED our tour ! I highly recommend this tour if visiting in Drumheller !!

Don was fantastic!! My father and I were there just recently, and we really enjoyed our trip. He was really kind and extremely educated about Drumheller, so you can definitely trust him with everything. Don is a complete Gentleman. You will be hard pressed not to book this Tour with him. The Tour was lovely as Don drove us to all spots in Drumheller and had deep extensive knowledge of not just the sites but the entire Town in General. An excellent tour! Full of information that you wouldnt know travelling on your own. This is also fantastic for solo travellers as you can be added to a group and meet people from all over the world.

Take the opportunity to experience this informative and fun tour. So many stops were made we otherwise wouldn't have seen and learning about the history of the area was awesome ! Great for teenagers too !
