(Translated) I was on the Wildlife Fotografy Tour at 6:30 in the morning and loved it. Super nice, very dedicated guide who answered all questions. The tour was really interesting because of the additional information in between. We saw a lot of animals (mosses, bald eagles, big horn sheeps - unfortunately no bears). The only negative point was that we were picked up later than estimated, but the tour took longer than planned. Einziger Minuspunkt war, dass wir später als veranschlagt abgeholt wurden, dafür hat die Tour dann aber auch länger als geplant gedauert.

Went there for the first time with that family and just want to say the lovely lady, Pat, who drive us on our wildlife tour was amazing, she has incredible driving skills cause we'd see animals after we'd pass and she'd manœuvre ever so neatly around the bends and traffic. (Translated) We used a shuttle bus to travel from Jasper to Banff in the winter season. This bus was not for sightseeing and was often used by locals. Therefore, I did not expect that I could not see the tourist spots, but I had a stop at the famous tourist spots of the Canadian Rockies for a rest break, and I was able to enjoy the wonderful scenery. We booked the 3.45 tour and our tickets for the skytram were for the 4 30 ride. We were told our return bus was 5 30. The views are amazing but we were very squashed in. The line at the top was huge so when we got there we had to line up for an hour to insure we would get down in time to get the bus which we didn't catch and 12 of us were left stranded. People told us the bus was full. We complained at the kiosk and they phoned up and finally a taxi and bus came. It was a shame that a later bus couldn't have been part of the schedule as this time of the year the skytram runs late into the evening.

Super unimpressed with their service. Their tours are nothing special - crammed into noisy busses with poor drivers. There was a bear on the side of the road and our driver didn't even slow down - he drove right in the middle of the road - directly at oncoming traffic, without slowing down at all. They take you to spots where you "should" see wildlife, but don't, and then drive right on past wildlife because they're just trying to get you off the bus so they can do their next tour.

We did the wildlife tour aswel as the Maligne canyon hike. Both times our Guide was Jeff. We could not be happier that he was our guide. What spirit and energy this guy carries. Fantastic, besides his personality and childlike enthousiasme he took us to great places during the wildlife tour where got to see elk up close ( 20-45 meters ) and Mule deer aswel. Even spotted a young bald eagle. Great tour would recommend 10/10 great job Jeff

Great tour, comfortable and warm bus and excellent guide. I went in the October off season and the roads were icey and impossible to make it up lake Maligne Road due to a crashed tour coach. The tour guide noticed the situation and changed our hike that complemented the group to lake pyramid, we saw a Bald Eagle elk, pine Martin and a grizzly bear! Majorly due to the keen eye of the tour guide being able to spot them whilst driving. Brilliant.

Dave was our tour guide and he did a great job. We went down as fas as we could and hit a little water but he took us through and we loved the tour. You could do this on your own but I would not recommend it. The tour is so much better.

I used SunDoug 3 times while staying in Alberta. On all three occasions, the driver was professional, on time and the bus itself was comfortable and safe. The first time I used SunDog was to get from Banff to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway. If you have already been on this parkway, then I don't need to explain how unbelievably beautiful it is... yet somewhat scary at times, as it literally takes you in loops in and around the mountains. I felt safe and comfortable with SunDog. The second time I used SunDog was on my last day in Jasper when I had the instinct decision to go on a wildlife tour, as it had snowed and I didn't feel comfortable renting a car to drive around the icy mountain roads but didn't want to miss out on driving through Maligne Valley. I again felt very safe and Lutz (our tour guide) was SO knowledgeable about the area and its history, along with where to find wildlife and their changing habitat. We saw Moose, Elk, Eagles and Mountain Sheep. It was a reminder that we really are visitors in the animals' home. The third time I used SunDog was this morning to get from Jasper to the Edmonton airport. I didn't feel worried at all because I knew the bus would show up on time and take me where I needed to go. Driver was also lovely and it was a good ride in to Edmonton, although... I'm not super excited about leaving. Alberta has captured my heart and SunDog Tours helped to facilitate the process! Thank you to everyone at SunDog, and to Sue for taking the time to speak with me over the phone before I ventured out to AB. You really put my mind at ease knowing that I had reliable and safe transportation, as well as interesting tours to choose from, especially during COVID. We wanted to book a whitewater rafting tour and the staff were very unhelpful at providing information about the tours. The person that took care of us barely talked to us and only pointed fingers at brochures. We booked anyway and had to do it twice because the person only booked for one person without asking us beforehand for how many person the booking was. Our names where also butchered. When we asked where we should meet and at what time, both information where incorrect and we fortunately rechecked before with the company organizing the tour.

What a wonderful way to spend a day. They guide was wonderful and safe and he left us with a plethora of knowledge. The ice canyon us amazing. One of a kind and if you are from Australia like us, it's unlike anything you have ever seen. Only thing I would say, is go on a cold day. Was pretty mushy when we went!

Took the bus with sundog from Edmonton to Jasper after my train was 17 hours late. The trip was just as good as the train, but actually on time. Leather seats, plugs at every seat, and even a couple tables. Why bother with the train when the bus is this good!

We stayed in jasper for a week in November 2020. The sun dog tours were one of the few open during this time of the year . We had Pultz today for our wildlife tours and he was such a great story teller. He was kind , patient and showed us around . He shared with some very interesting/fascinating facts about the flora and fauna of jasper . Why are some trees brown in colour .- is this due to fire or was it due to the these trees being infected by the pine tree beetles. we could spend a whole day listening to Pultz. Great value for the money spent . I would highly recommend them for local tours etc thank you We also got to see coyote, elks and bighorn sheep.

Our car broke down one day before our Dog Sleeding Tour and we called Sun Dog Tours to ask if we could use the "Cold Fire Creek" (the actual organiser) shuttle service that is driving from Jasper to the Dog Sledding Trail (90 minutes drive). They told us that the Shuttle is full (they didn't even check with the organiser to verify that) They told us to to call Cold Fire Creek to check with them. We did but they didnt call us back for hours because they were doing the Tours at that time (i don't blame them for that). We called Sun Dog Tours again and they suggested to rent a car. We had to call two companies and only one of them had a car available. We had to get there really fast because they close at 5pm. We rented a car, went through the whole renting and returning process only to find out that they had 3 available seats in the Shuttle (not from a cancallation). My suggestion: Book your Tour with "Cold Fire Creek Dog Sledding". Why would you book at Sun Dog Tours? They get a comission but the customer service is practically non-exsistent. No Thanks!

My boyfriend and I bought a package for Maligne Ice Walk and wild life watching tour on the same day. It was amazing !! The guides for both tours told amazing stories. They are really great at what they do. Bus and safety gears are in great conditions. Highly recommend !

We bought a Groupon for the Wildlife Discovery Tour. From the description on the website, we expected to go for an evening walk in a wildlife area. However, the tour was on a bus the whole time. We just ended up driving around Jasper looking for animals from the vehicle, which is something that can easily be done on your own. The tour also started at a weird time, because the animals don't really come out until dusk, and the tour left in late afternoon. We boarded the bus at 5:30pm and didn't get dropped off until almost 10pm (while the website had told us the tour would finish between 8:30 and 9pm). The tour felt especially long because there were no food or bathroom stops. The tour guide's presentation lacked polish. There were long stretches when she was just driving and there was no information or entertainment provided. While we did see a few different types of animals, we left the tour feeling tired and hungry. Would have preferred a tour that covered less ground but included more waking.

Also when I called the agency for some questions the lady and the guy who picked up the phone was helpful and friendly. I hope I will return to Jasper and book tours with them again. Took a Sundog tour of Maligne Canyon in Jasper and this was one of the highlights of our trip to Banff/Jasper. This tour is very well set up. We were picked up right from our hotel in Jasper and then taken to get boots and "icers". Our guide, Wes, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the geography and the planetary science behind everything we saw on the tour. This is a great opportunity to see a beautiful area with a professional guide.

I did a “wildlife and sunrise” tour. I just wasted my time and my money. The guide picked me up 25 min late, and I’ve seen much more wildlife driving by myself than during this tour. We stopped for too long at each spot, we could have done much more in 3 hours. It might be better than nothing for someone who doesn’t have any car, but that’s all.

My sister and I, took the Bus/Boat Tour of Maligne Valley/Lake, around the middle of July this year (2021). I must say, that we have been to Jasper before, yet have NEVER experienced it like THIS!. From the VERY FRIENDLY/KNOWLEDGEABLE driver (JEFF), who picked us up from West-Ed-Mall, to the very comfortable bus, we felt pampered by the high level of customer service along the way. I very much appreciated/valued his relaxing yet professional manner, while highlighting interesting facts of the upcoming beauty/vistas/flora/fauna awaiting us!. You could definitely tell, he was VERY PASSIONATE about Jasper and his dedicated work with the bus line. The walk within sections of the Valley, were a visual/audio spectacle of BREATHTAKING BEAUTY . . . You DIRECTLY EXPERIENCED and were IMMERSED into it all ???? Then the Boat Cruise on Maligne Lake and onward (22 km) was nothing short of SPEECHLESS WONDER . . . The AWE INSPIRING visuals combined with our Interpreter MEG (and the boat captain SAM), was THE PERFECT FIT for what we were experiencing with ALL our senses. You quickly noticed, that MEG possessed this EXTRAORDINARY PASSION about EVERYTHING around us, her work in sharing that with us and that she REALLY LOVED IT ALL!. THIS IS HOW EVERYONE should EXPERIENCE JASPER . . . Within the convergence of four different mountain ranges, you are directly brought to a place of MAJESTIC AWE . . . My partner and I did the ice walk tour with sundog tours in feb 2021, our guide was Garrett, he was great! Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! The canyon was amazing! Such an incredible experience that we will treasure forever! It was great that waterproof footwear, cleats and a helmet were provided because we definitely need them. The sun dog tour shuttle picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel as well, which was very convenient. the maligne canyon kitchen was closed due to a plumbing issue, which was a bit disappointing but other than that I would definitely recommend this tour, well worth the money.

Had a trip planned from Calgary to Jasper: So we got on a Brewster bus from Calgary to Banff, and the driver from Calgary to Banff never informed us that we had to get off and transfer so we missed the stop and the Sundog bus driver had already left. So Sundog called us and we told them we were never told to get off at the original stop. Fast forward, the Brewster driver takes us to the location we were supposed to get off and when the Sundog driver arrives, we get yelled at and the driver said "sorry doesn't cut it" when it wasn't our fault from the beginning. First experience too...

Maligne Ice Walk. Small group tour, picked up at our hotel. I think the 3 guides mindfully split the groups so there was one of youth, one of adults, and one of families? Really excellent tour with Alicia! She was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Really great with all the kids on our tour. The safety gear and bus was in excellent condition. I highly recommend this tour. It is great value for the money and an exciting way to spend a morning in Jasper.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! WE DO NOT RECOMMEND SUNDOG TOURS!! FIND AN ALTERNATE TOUR COMPANY!! THE SUNDOG TOUR MANAGEMENT in Jasper ARE AWFUL!! We booked the Maligne Canyon Ice Walk for March 28/18 and the Planetarium Experience for March 27/18 both were booked on January 10, 2018 via the concierge at the Jasper Park Lodge - we received confirmation of our booking on January 10, 2018. We live in Alberta and had family visiting from New Brunswick and this was their first time to the mountains and the only activity they really wanted to do was the Maligne Canyon Ice Walk and we never got to go on the tour as SunDog overbooked the tour and would not allow us to go on the tour. Even though you book the SunDog tours months in advance to ensure that you have the booking you want, it does not guarantee that SunDog will allow you to participate in the tour. We also booked the Planetarium Experience for 8pm and we had to take a later booking, but we were only notified that SunDog could not accommodate our 8pm booking at 7:45pm when we arrived in person for the 8pm show (we did have a 5pm message on our home phone saying that SunDog could not accommodate us for the 8pm show but were were in Jasper at 5pm and did not get the message.) The Planetarium Experience is not worth the funds paid - two of us took the later showing at 9pm and we sat in lawn chairs inside a blowup dome tent for a 45minutes slide show - definitely not worth the money. We could have forgiven the Planetarium mixup and hokey show, had we not been treated so poorly the next morning when we showed up for our 10am Maligne Canyon IceWalk to be refused passage on the tour as it was overbooked. SunDog made excuses saying they called our names and we were not there, but we sat in the Jasper Park Lodge lobby (which is where we were told to meet our tour guide and no one called our names) for over 45 minutes and spoke to a SunDoug tour operator twice and we were told that another bus and tour guide would be there to take us on our tour, and we still did not get the tour we booked and paid for in January 2018. SunDog Tours were very unprofessional and not helpful even thought we had a 4 person booking for both events. On the other side, The Jasper Park Lodge Concierge were very helpful and tried to find us an alternate tour, however we had to be in Lake Louse at 6pm on the same day so we were out of luck. DO NOT BOOK WITH SUNDOG TOUR CO. - their office in Jasper is very unprofessional!! SUNDOG Management in the Jasper office lied to the Jasper Park Lodge Concierge about not having our booking and us not being present for our 10am booking - SUNDOG did have confirmation of our booking and we were present for our 10am tour - SUNDOG was just making excuses because they overbooked the tour and did not have room for us!!

We went on a tour of Maligne canyon with Jeff today. He was knowledgeable, professional a nd funny he made the tour fun for everyone. Our kids are 10 and 16 both of them enjoyed the tour as Jeff made it special for both of them. My son said it was entertaining about a boring subject.

We had a great time with our tour guide, Sue! We hit some not so nice weather on our way up to Maligne Lake, however, we still saw several animals! Our biggest wish was to see a moose and unfortunately we weren't so lucky. We decided to take the information Sue taught us and drive out ourselves later in the day...and we got lucky!!! Jeff was a great guide. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Maligne canyon icewalk is a must. Could be done without a guide but I would definitely recommend doing a guided tour as we went off the beaten track and saw/experienced more, I.e. the ice slide. Jeff was also a great photographer.

We went on a Jammer tour with “Jammer Jeff” 7 August he picked us up and tailored the interest points to our interests, schedule and needs having a 9 month old with us. What an experience, the bus is amazing and as this was a special surprise for my husband’s retirement celebration, he loved it was so excited and Jeff invited him to sit in the front seat!! Touring jasper is a given beautiful experience, but in this vehicle doubly so. Jeff’ personality, knowledge of the area, interest in us and sense of humour made this so enjoyable, very special and memorable. All family on board are still talking of this and telling family. We will be back as a family again in Jasper next year and hope to have some family from the UK with us and most definitely will book a Jammer tour again. Sincerely hope Jeff is our driver! My experiences with this company were fantastic! I took several tours with this company over the last week and the guides were all great! Fred, Eliot, and Harry were lovely and beyond knowledgeable, as well as nice to chat with. My first tour with them was rescheduled by Sundog as the time I'd booked had low attendance, which is totally understandable. Due to my train arriving late, I was worried I'd miss my tour, but they waited for me and one of the office staff was there to meet me and a couple and took us to meet up with the rest of our group. When I arrived I just looked for Sundog staff and everyone I talked to knew exactly who I was and where I needed to be. It was incredible how organized and caring they all were. This company, in large part, made my visit to Jasper the unforgettable time that it was!

BE AND SHAME ON YOU FOR TRYING TO SQUEEZE OUT 30 OR MORE DOLLARS BY NOT PROVIDING CLEAR INFORMATION. Sun dog tours: I called: I was confirming price and I said I am going skiing!! I also confirmed time of departure, what you could bring for luggage and i understand two bags each, best way to book and is there parking for your car at West Edmonton mall as it is a long ways away. I was able to get the information with acceptable ease. I called to book and clarified again about baggage and having ski's. I was told if I have skis I would have to pay 30 dollars extra!! -No clear indication of this on the web site. -There is a comment I understand 14 questions down under facts regarding this.... not transparent!!! -In my previous calls I was not informed of this extra cost to bring skis. I said I am going skiing each time I called, lots of opportunity to tell me -Sudog does not inform guests when they say they are "going skiing" is this an easy way to get cash to spring it on the person when they arrive at the bus too 'GO SKIING"? After clarifying 5 times (my son counted) with Kazana (this is what she identified her name as) -I was then told you can have one carry on and no specified dimensioned available! One under the bus baggage under 50 pounds. -a carry on that was good for a flight was acceptable. It was clear the Sundog representative had no idea and no the representative could not say where on the web site where baggage size is described!!! -on the 5th time I tried to clarify ski bag and baggage, I was informed that you can bring your skies, however that would count as you one under the bus baggage. I had said we would have one bag about thigh height and maybe a cooler if this was allowed!!!!! -I asked to speak to a manger as I did not want more surprises and was told Helen was a manger, however I was not put through?????? -This should be a simple, simple booking. One way to go skiing!!! SUNDOG GET IT TOGETHER, HAVE CLEAR INFORMATION ON YOUR WEB SITE. YOU CATER TO A SKIING POPULATION...
