REVIEWS OF Yukon Visitor Information Centre IN Whitehorse

Verry good source for regional information

Doug Corrin

Staff were friendly and helpful

Stu Ellis

Got to watch a great and informative film about the Yukon.

Eduardo Chávez

(Translated) The history of the region is not known nor does it support absorbing the culture. Actually talking to people is the most helpful as the visitor center doesn't really help much. The video they show you in the amphitheater is old and looks like it came out of the eighties. They don't even show what the Yukon is like in the winter or how they are organized politically. It would be interesting to know why the Yukon is a territory and not a province like the lower states of Canada. It helps to get leaflets and leaflets about really good activities to do in the Yukon but you can really see that in the hotel you are staying at.

PIANOS WHOLESALE

See my review on the carcross desert or Skagway regarding my trip to the Yukon in a rental car when my cruise ship docked at Skagway. If you want to experience the Alaska you have in your mind you will not get another chance if you're taking a cruise through the inner passage. Driving all the way through the Yukon and back from Skagway was easily the best day that we ever had on the entire kind of boring screws we took.

Javier Efrén García Lares

Nice place to know the history and culture's Whitehorse

Anna Swope

Helpful & friendly, with ample information on all attractions in Yukon as well as several brochures about BC. They also give out free parking permits for visitors to you in Downtown Whitehorse, so this is a good first stop when getting into town.

James Janzen

Tobias Staley

One of the best tourist information centres I have visited. The building is very modern, and had some good displays, especially the wall map. The staff member was friendly and very helpful in providing a good list of restaurants and local attractions with prices. Bathrooms were lovely clean and modern. Well recommended.

Very helpful staff, even despite my vague request of "things to do" while in town. I walked out with a great handful of pamphlets with specifics given to me on what events/entertainment to check out. I hadn't checked out the rest of the building, but it looked very organized and clean with plenty of signage to check out and read. It would be worth checking out a second time as a pseudo-museum.

(Translated) The tourist information center is tidy. The smell of the toilet is terrible. There was not much that could be obtained from the information desk. It's just a symbolic place I do not recommend a trip to Whitehorse. Aurora is better to go somewhere else. Wildlife is also more in the US National Parks. There are no advantages here, it is inconvenient, expensive to air, expensive to rent a car and unfriendly.

Nice large centre with a new feel to it. Good rock exhibit in the entrance and free wifi. Great parking options especially for RV and larger rigs. Overall the staff we friendly if a little peculiar. Not sure on 'knowledgeable' as they (2 staff members) were unaware they had an off-leash dog park in town even though it was listed on their town map. They informed me that everywhere in town (Whitehorse) except the Government Campground was off-leash even though I later came across a town bylaw stating all dogs must be on-leash. No obvious organisation to the written information in the centre. Just rummage and grab anything of interest. Disappointing for a town this size with so many cool things to do and see.

Lorenzo Franco Santin

Clean - check Heated - check Toilets - check Printed Information - check Friendly & Helpful staff -check We came here while it's still dark (yes, short daytime) for some information and to use the restroom before walking around the downtown. Marie was super helpful and provided us with all the information we needed and even offered to show us at 15 minutes video on Yukon. Though the video was made many years ago, it really did highlight the beauty of Yukon and how the people are really friendly (which we experienced as well). The Visitor Information Centre is really clean and the toilets are very very well maintained. There are many pamphlets which you can take along with you to plan your trip there. The place is cold at -20 degrees celsius but the people in there warm your hearts up with great hospitality and information.

A decent visitor information center very clean nice open seem to have literature from any local business that would put it in there. Do not waste your time on the movie as it is pure fluff and offers no information or tips on the area. Probably the least worthwhile movie I've ever seen an information center. Definitely worth a stop in this area though to pick up all the literature the notes the Yukon passport book if you're into that kind of thing.

Spacious and relatively new visitors center. Has the expected selection of fliers and area information. WiFi is available, but no water fill station. Disappointed that when we asked about camping spots between Whitehorse and Dawson we got a list but no notice that Moose Creek was closed due to the fires. Whether they weren't aware or just forgot, it made for a frustrating evening after a long day in the car.
