Looked nice from the outside. I sat in a chair outside while my wife went in. She said it was just a chocolate place and said she didn't notice anything special. There was a neat mural on the outside wall. I saw that several people from our cruise ship bought something here, so it is apparently okay. I appreciated the little tables and chairs just outside the entrance. Sorry I didn't check it out more.

Friendly staff will help you navigate through the varieties the offer here. Samples are offered freely or when asked. Variety boxes are a great way to bring home a piece of Newfoundland. Free gift wrap is available if asked.

I am unable to rate this business higher than 3 stars. The quality of their chocolates easily warrants a 5 star rating, but their prices exceed even their high quality. Perhaps they are only interested in the tourist market and are not concerned about selling to locals.

Absolutely delicious chocolate! I love the funny Newfoundland sayings chocolate bars, and how much flavour variety they have in their regular chocolate bars. I bought about $60 worth of chocolate to bring back to New Brunswick with me because it is just that good!! I wanted to buy the whole store! The staff was also very friendly and down to earth; they were even giving us recommendations for other stores and restaurants in town that we should visit. I will come here every time I am in Nfld from now on.

CHOCOLATE! What more is there to say? Actually they have an incredible variety of chocolate here. All of it is excellent quality and it is made right here. The staff were friendly, helpful, and even funny. This stuff is right up there with the best chocolate you can find! Love it.

Walked in to the smell of fresh baked waffle cones, was greeted promptly and happily whilst offered a chocolate sample. Very nice atmosphere and quickly helped and checked out with no problems.

Their chocolate is to die for, an absolutely a must for any gift you are giving! (Or a treat) They have really good gelato too in the summer time, stop in and get a cup! I do miss when you could watch the chocolate being made through a window though, that was a unique draw to the downtown location

a chocolate shop is a chocolate shop but dear god, this is probably the best hot chocolate I have ever had in my life. They're happy to customize your order and for me that was dark chocolate and salty caramel. I would give 6 stars if they had coffee to make mochas but they said they're getting it soon! Also they give out samples!!

The BEST chocolate around. Have been buying people gifts from here for years and they are always top quality and well recieved. Lots of unusual flavours and a lot of cute newfoundland flair too - the jellybean row bars are a particular favourite with relatives abroad!

Google to find out what souvenior I can buy for my colleagues and this chocolate place shows up. It's easily walkable as it's located in the downtown of St. John's. Outside of the store is so nice, especially the window display. Walked into the store, it's nice and warm. There a variety of chocolate from box of 30 pcs to 15 pcs to a single bar, some hot chocolate items and apparels. If you want to buy every piece, there is a section for that. If you want to buy a hot chocolate or coffee, you can buy hot beverages there. Prices are on the steeper side, but I guess it's a mama papa store, and it's not high production, it is what it is. I gave it to my colleague and they enjoyed them. I bought them assorted and the other was nut & caramel. I do wish the staff were a little bit attentative, but I came in at around 8:00 pm so I guess it's winding down and they were tired, so I was ok and being understanding. I wonder if they sell ice cream in the summer time? If you are looking to buy items to bring home, this is the place.

Have a large variety of chocolates, many made with local ingredients that are delicious! They might be a little more expensive than the standard crap you would get at the drugstore, but it is worth it. They taste far better. This is good stuff.

Everything I've tried from here has called for a large glass of milk right after, it is all so wonderfully rich and full of chocolatey flavours. Their hot chocolate is to die for.

Lovely looking chocolate merchandise in the Water St. store but I almost had to take a mortgage out on my home to buy a treat for my daughter. I paid a whopping $6.80 for one "gelato ice cream" cone with absolutely no bells and whistles (unless you count the waffle cone, which is a nice foundation but certainly not worth such an exorbitant premium). Neither price nor sizing details were displayed near the counter so I had to inquire and was told there is only one size for the ice cream, and I almost collapsed from the sticker shock when the cashier told me I had to cough up $6.80 for ONE CONE of ice cream. The cashier also incapable of providing a receipt for some reason, even though I asked for one and one of the staff members said it was possible (the ice cream cashier disagreed with her). My daughter reported that the ice cream was tasty, but I won't be returning based on this service experience and exorbitant price with no size selection or price listing.

We stopped in here while traveling through the St. John's area. As a Chocolate Store it was as expected. This store did not fail to please. Everything you would expect was here, we went with a multitude of truffles and a NB Quiet Cove. When in the area, stop in and see for yourself.

Top quality chocolate made with skill and care. Welcoming, no rush kind of a place although there can be lines at busier times because its very popular. Excellent hot chocolate too. Along with a regular line of bite sized chocolates, they make bars, specialty, and one of kind special occasion chocolates.

Newfoundland Chocolate Company offers unique chocolates but also excellent ice cream. Staff is very friendly. The shop looks clean and cozy. There are only two seats outside where you can enjoy your ice cream. Only the prices are quite elevated.

Best ice-cream I had in Newfoundland. The texture was creamy like nothing I have seen on the island. This definitely was a nice find and I would recommend. As a plus the staff was very frienfly (though I experienced this a lot in Newfoundland ????)

Well I just had to compliment your company. I love chocolate and I was just given a gift of the chocolate bar 54% Dark and I must say it is delicious. I am very particular about good chocolate, especially dark and this is very, very good. So happy it is available in our city of Moncton and I will be certainly checking this out. Just wanted to share what great chocolate and I will certainly be trying more of it.

Must say was very disappointed in quality of chocolate..bought the "Quiet Cove" milk chocolate box..found the chocolate sweet and granular..not at all nice to taste. Would not buy this product again.

Love the chocolate bars. We gave a gift pack to friends and they thought the saying were hilarious. Unfortunately I couldn't remember what all of them meant. Putting a sticker on the bottom of the gift package with a translation of each, would have been helpful and fun. The store had run out of the flyers that had the explanations.
