Audio guide is available. Interesting to see a full submarine both inside and out.

A. George Adamson

An absolutely fascinating audio-guided tour that hugely increases my awe of the men who served on this type of boat.

Eric Taillefer

Really cool to visit an old submarine. The only place in Canada if I'm not mistaken

Cameron Docherty

Wonderful chance to explore inside a submarine and visualize life on board.

PolarBear00777

My wife and I got to stop and see this excellent Submarine Musuem on your way through Rimouski on the way to Gaspé. We happened to be there on the 1st Sunday of the month, which meant that access to the site was FREE!! The Submarine tour takes approximately 1 hour as you pass through the subamrine with an audio tour. Some of the bulkheads are hard to get through but it simply shows you how difficult the life of a submariner really was! This is a definite Must See!

Marie-Claude Brisson

Worth it.

Francois b

Great museum for the entire family.

Jonathan Lafleur

Was well explained, place is beautiful but really small space.

Erazem Dolžan

A great place, unique chance to see a submarine from inside. There's a nice audio guide in French or English as well. Must see if you're in the area, especially with kids.

Kamran Aslam

Beautiful spot and wonderful to see Canadian naval history

Justina Maynard

Honestly wasn't expecting much but the visit turned out to be very interesting and informative. We didn't have time to visit the museum next door. The submarine tour was short and sweet (app 45 min) with an audio guide. I realize that with COVID guided tours are not possible but it would have been cool to be able to ask questions to someone aboard the submarine.

Hooman B

Your chance to see a Canadian submarine inside and out.

Raj P

This is good museum. Informative displays. Audio tour was good. We felt bit rushed. There was no one bilingual to answer questions in English.

DaBoss Robert

Interesting place but it was closed when we were there. I did manage to get some nice photos.

Solecitosays

Wonderful visit! This place is full of history, you can't miss the opportunity to learn about the submarine and the way operators live and work there. The staff is very nice and helpful, you can make the tour in English or French and it has all the covid measures in place. Great photos inside and out.

Piranavan Vivekanandan

Great experience seeing the inside of a submarine.

Daniel Grozdanov

Super cool sub

Véronique Govart

(Translated) Exceptional! The staff are courteous and caring. The visit of the submarine is magical and gives a real idea of what life is like on board. The Empire of Ireland Shipwreck Museum is very well done. To do! (Original) Exceptionnel! A faire!

Desislav Stanchev (Des)

Amazing experience.

Lisa Elminowski

Long line but well managed. Doing the best they can for COVID measures considering the tiny space!

Andrea Recinos

Great! The tour is guided by a little small listening device that coordinates with the part of the submarine your in. The wait isnt to long about 30 minutes is what I waited. The tour lasts about 45 min to 1 hour ( depending on the other people taking the tour and using there listening device multiple little groups at a time) its a good experience even for those who arent enthusiasts. Very cool to look around and and learn a few things.

Nathalie Dubois

(Translated) Superb visit, I learned a lot about the job of submariner, very interesting. Not too expensive and well organized.

Beyond Deviation

Super nice experience but it's crowded. I mean its great for them but when we got in we didnt move at all for good 5 mins and then 2 meters haha but the whole thing is really cool. Worth it. Also i included pictures of the lighthouse next door and the museum.

Jonathan Martin

great experience

Marion

(Translated) Very beautiful and impressive visit! I had never had the opportunity to visit a submarine and found it super impressive. I'm pretty good so I felt really cramped in there. The audio guided tour is really great.

Guilherme D. Garcia

The audio guide is thorough. Overall a great visit.

Rita Ha

Friendly staff. The audio tour makes a mildly interesting tour of the submarine. Tight spaces. Forces you to go single file through the tour. Impressed that 7 and 9 yr old were able to follow the story with interest. Doing the whole audio tour takes about 45-60min

Wicky Wicky

Remarkable! It's a huge submarine that served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later the Canadian Forces. And, later was made into a museum. Once inside, you can see first hand what life is like inside a vessel the size of a football field that did it's best work undetected under water.

Nancy Renquinha

(Translated) Nice family place. Beautiful place also for the followers of the photography because there are several beautiful nooks and crannies of tt beauty. If you have a trailer or RV you have a parking lot just for you and it is possible to stay there for 24 hours. (Original) Belle endroit familiale.

Extremely cool exhibit if you're a history/war buff. You can walk through the whole submarine from stern to bow. The little speaker box they give you to explain certain things is a little dated. After the 8th or 9th thing we gave up using it. If you want an explanation of everything inside the sub I would use it.

Elina Garmider

Very interesting visit, will recommend to friends.

Suzie Lachance

Staff is very nice Lots of parking. Price is good.

Isaque Nunes

This tour of the submarine was fantastic. Very good guide on the radios while we went through the submarine. Great experience for our kids. We were pressed for time so didn’t do the museum portion of the tour. Highly recommended though. Great place to stop. Beautiful views of the st.Laurence and light house.

Sofiane H.

Must visit when you are in Rimouski, best attraction !

Sylvain Vaillancourt

Kelly Beamsley

(Translated) It was a very nice activity, with the capes of rocks to allow us to park our trailer and have a picnic, it's splendid. In 2021, a walkway was laid out with posters explaining the different parts of the submarine. In 2021, it was possible to visit the submarine as well as the exhibition on the empress of Ireland museum at a cost of $8 and $5.20 (for children aged 8 and over), lasting approximately 45 min, all at intervals for distancing. There is a nice park for children and a nice rocky beach for walking. I recommend it, it is now a must for us. Nothing like smelling the smell of the sea ????

Igor Pivovar

Very interesting museum

Shelsea Saint-Fleur

(Translated) WOW !! I never expected that! It's a tour of the historic submarine with an audio device! Cery a visit of about 1 hour. It’s really simple and informative! We don't feel rushed by the people behind us. Each "part" of the submarine is exceptional and to be able to touch and see it all is impressive! I have no regrets about this visit and I recommend it to everyone. (Original) WOW!!

Great museum and the staff was so friendly. HMCS is an Oberon-class Sunbmarine that served in the Royal Canadian Navy and later the Canadian Forces. Built in the mid-1960s, Onondaga operated primarily with the Maritime Forces Atlantic until her decommissioning in 2000 as the last Canadian Oberon.

steven ringuette

Museum very nice place to go see

Onn Sight

A pieces of history and its not something we see often in Canada i enjoyed and plenty of outdoor activities in the area ????

Jeremy Hannaford

Never been a submarine before, and it's a pretty cool experience getting to walk through the whole thing and finding out how it works

Davcam

Naturally I was not able to take the tour because of covid19. However I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in quebec

Michael Tsoller

Had a blast learning about this vessel. 30-45 minutes of self guided trip outside and within the ship. Recommended!

Deep Pandya

Amazing place for submarine lovers

Monica M

Next to the submarine, there’s the 2nd tallest light house

Susheel Vigrahala

This place is pleasant

Jean-Yves xxd

What a place to visit! It was a very good experience. The visit last about an hour.

Linda Lim

It shows the different parts of the submarine & their fonction and how the crew works in it with the audio guide.

Sandie Bourgault

Belle experience

Dumitru Papanaga

It is interesting to see ....

Iris Chen

Waiting time is more than visiting time. The trip can tell serving in submarine is not a pleasant experience.

Colette Gagne

Loved this exhibit! Well done, through self guided audio - very interesting and a glimpse into the life of a submariner!

Noppadol Pringvanich

Excellent visit to actual submarine.

Matt

Our 3 kids (9, 14, 15) were reluctant and had to be forced to come with us. Once on board, they loved it and thanked me afterwards. I guess dad sometimes does know best. Very informative tour that lasts about 45 minutes. It wasn't much of a detour on our way to Métis sur mer and I'm glad we took the time to see this.

Scott Payette

My kids loved visiting this submarine. I wish we had more time for the tour. We will definitely check out its sister in Port Burwell once covid restrictions are removed.

Charles

This huge submarine is very well presented. The audio your guide is a bit corny but probably nice for kids. It certainly had some interesting trivia. Pretty impressive all in all and I recommend it to anyone passing in the area.

Pierre Facette

Lots of fun for young and old

Ken Coupland

Fantastic to see in Onondaga in Rimouski. Great museum for Empress of Ireland...lighthouse...and warning systems

Claudia Di Sanza

We adored our visit! A must do in Rimouski.

Marc-antoine Blanchet

Wow

Loren Pearson

Was pleased with the calibre of the presentation, but not so with the artistic license they took with the audio tour. $64.50 for two adults and a youth. Too much chit chat at some stations, and not others meant you were piling up waiting in some spots. The signs onboard were bi-lingual, but nothing else was. Worth doing once if you are in the area. Nothing at all about the CF, her missions, etc.

Yu Gangguo

Fun place. Lots to learn from the tour and audio guide hand held device. Glad I included this stop on the way to Perce rock trip.

Wladimir Jean-Pierre

(Translated) Very impressive visit! I learned that submarines aren't big! A lot of respect for the sailors. The visit is done with the help of an electronic device is pellets on the ground. It suffices to dial the number of the badge on the device to have the audio info of the sector in which we are located. The submarines will have no more secrets for you. Important, you cannot book so you have to wait outside and buy your ticket on the spot.

Joepy Brugman

The audio tour was useless for any hearing impaired and the written book was only offered in French, again useless. The sub itself on the other hand was nice to tour.
