While I've always loved the pool, I prefer the rink, most of the time when I come in now it's at the request of my friends, and I have to book over a week in advance with them to even have a chance of getting in at the time I want.

A inexpensive place to go for a swim ,hot tub and or sauna ,as well as get in a workout . There is also access to skating as well as many community programs as well as various different special events held here .There is a better than your average condition stand which offers up more than your average fare for this type of place ! Also I there is a skateboard park and mountain bike park and access to many trails ,including one to the beach !

I grew up in PR and have many fond memories of the complex. 15 years later, it still has its charm. You get access to skating, swimming, and the fitness room for the price of admission.

Great access for swimming pool and hockey arena. Children outdoors skate park excellent. Trails around centre excellent outdoors walking experience with elevation changes gives a deep woods experience.

I love this place. Awesome gym, amazing pool, huge hot tub where you don't have to squish in with a bunch of strangers and the new sauna smells so good. The only downside is the pool ceiling (thus the 4), but everything else more than makes up for it. Super kind and helpful staff too!

The gym is too crowded with people who aren't there to even work out, just use their phones. lots of thievery too. the arena is the brunt end jokes around the BCHL but no tax base for a new arena.

Powell River Recreation Center is very well maintained and their employees are very respectful. They are caring and go an extra mile to help. Their pools are safely guarded by the life guards.

Family Day was wonderful at the complex. Skating, working out in the gym and swimming all afternoon was free. I enjoyed lunch of burgers or hot dogs by donation while listening to great music. Then I joined friends and family to watch a free hockey game of the Kings vs the Bulldogs. Thank you

I'm here working for the day, wish I had the family with me, this place seems excellent. Not only the usual pool and gym, but a theater and outdoor bike and skate park. Also very friendly staff.

My Expectations were really high, and maybe that was my problem. There was more coating then chicken, once peeled the coating off, I just had one little piece. Maybe if they cut it differently to leave more of the breast meat... Or less coating I am sure it could be great. I am a huge fan of Poutine, and this would have been the best....however the gravy was coagulated, and the curds were ice cold. Once again these are things that can be fixed and would go a long way. There are more different things in the menu, I cannot speak for them.

They are doing the covid vaccinations here. My experience was awesome. Didn't hurt a bit, staff and volunteers were very kind and courteous. Went in, registered at the front desk, where they found me in the list. Went to the next desk where my paperwork was filled out. I was immediately directed into the area where they were giving shots, had to wait 10-15 seconds and then I was sat down and given my shot. Went to the waiting room and waited the 15 minutes and left. Super easy. Thank you.

Make sure you have all pieces of ID before going, even if you aren’t the one needing a wallet, otherwise you are turned away. Mediocre centre, need better upgrades in order to actually better suit the community’s needs. Some of the staff are amazing, others definitely should not be working in a customer based setting.

Powell River Rex Complex is well utilized with a busy pool scheduled with lots of different activities and lessons, lane swims and public access. The swirl pool hot tubs, sauna and showers are all in working order and appreciated. Weight training & aerobics rooms make this a great venue to work out at. The rest of the complex is home to arenas, many multi purpose rooms available for rent and the Evergreen theatre. A much appreciated addition to our community.
