My sister and I had such a pleasant experience from the moment we walked in. Convenient central location to get to and having the option of scheduling an apppointment or simply walking in like I did today is awesome. Very intelligent, professional, witty and polite lawyer greeted us as we entered the office and walked us through the entire process in a timely fashion with a genuine smile on her face. I expected visiting a notary to be more of a dreadful experience but this was beyond excellent customer service I had to leave a review. Thanks again! Will definitely be back if need be.

I had an awful experience here. I will never recommend this Notary Service to anyone. From the moment I walked into the office, the notary on duty was rude and dismissive. She also threw documents across the desk at me. It got to the point where I cried when I left because I was so overwhelmed by her tone, the way she spoke down to me and the lack of information I was able to obtain (in addition to the stressful situation I was originally there to obtain a notary for). In addition, she also informed my elderly father and I that she didn't provide an American Consulate notarizing service, where your document is stamped at the US embassy - which I needed for a real estate transaction. When I went to the embassy today (after weeks of waiting for an appointment), I was told she was there all the time doing this herself on behalf of clients. What?! It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had and when you're dealing with something legal and stressful, this is the absolute last thing that you need. It was truly awful. Also, don't bother calling the 'call centre' they're just as bad. Something rotten is going on here.

The lawyer at the office 130 Albert street was not professional and very impolite. Although she claims to have 12 years experience, she couldn’t file a simple school board guardianship forms. All the concerned parties were present and had their ID’s. Worst part is that she waisted 30 minutes of our time doing nothing but looking at the firm. Lol! Worst service ever to get.

The list for disliking this place and don’t ever recommending its services to anyone is endless. Extremely rude staff; poor communication between head office, staff and client; complete lack of care about the client’s business; no empathy or respect; no hand sanitizer provided (even after having to touch the finger print machine); and it goes on. My visit was a complete caos, the lady treated my as if she was doing me a favour (and probably a very dirty one) as nothing explains being rude to a client who did nothing to you other than, in a polite and normal tone, questioned about the service costs... I ended up being asked to remove myself from the room, while the lady stepped towards me in a very threatening manner.

Bad customer service all around Had to go twice because the staff did not want to process my fingerprinting the first time even though it was 15 minutes before closing. Both times felt like my business was not welcomed and I was a burden... $60 for 5-10 minutes of her time doesn’t seem so bad? Honestly if you like to be dismissed and spoken to like a child who’s bothering an annoyed parent, by all means this is the place for you. Otherwise, your patience, time, and money is better spent elsewhere.

I called twice and was told I would receive a call or email shortly. At the end of the day ( I submitted my request at 8:30am) still no communication from them. I just called Red Seal Notary to enquirer about having documents sent from Toronto to the Ottawa location to be singed and witnessed by a notary. The gentlemen who answered the phone at the Toronto location, which had a terrible static connection, informed me that they did not offer that service. Isn’t the definition of a notary, as defined on their website … “A notary public is a person who can serve as an official witness to the execution (signing) of contracts, agreements, and an almost limitless array of legal documents.” Red Seal Notary really needs to educate their staff about what services they are offering. This does not inspire trust. I will not be using their services now or in the future.

If you are getting a document notarized for Korean government, this Notary republic is not accepted by Korean Embassy, so you will have to go to Global affairs to get the document authenticated again before bringing it to embassy. This was a little troublesome, because if I got it notarized by registered lawyer, it could have been much simpler. So recommend going to lawyers who does notarization service if you need to bring the doc to Korean Embassy to get it apostilled. Overall service was quick and relatively cheaper than other places.

Notary agent threw the documents back instead of handing them back to us. Very unpleasant. When I scanned the document of 2 pages, the seal stamp used on the first page and 2nd do not show up even using high-quality configuration. I would not come back.

I went there a few months ago to have a Power of Attorney letter notarized. Love that it’s a walk-in location, the notary on duty was quick and friendly. I recommend it. (Nothing to do with the notary, just a note of advice for people in the same situation as me: In case you have a Power of Attorney letter coming from the USA, after having it notarized - and before going to the US Embassy to have it apostilled - you need to go to Global Affairs Canada to have your letter authenticated.
