Beautiful spot And fantastic beach.
Awesome beach, great views with mount Baker on the horizon. Tea house for the basics.
SERENE. Nature at its best. The washroom/changeroom facility could use attention but it was a lovely beach. Enjoyed sun sand surf. About a quick 20 min cab from downtown. Theres a park. Plsyground near by so you could spend an entire day just unwinding i this beautiful lil area.
Beautiful white sand beach, awesome play area for little ones, and a Tea House Cafe, this place has it all!
Favourite beach in Victoria. Lots of sandy beaches but still adequate coverage from sun in many areas. Lots of open grass area to run around as well as playgrounds and food options in the summer.
A local fun spot. Youhave a field to play sports or have a picnic on a blanket. You can enjoy the view while you walk along the beach with a coffee or treat that the tea house offers up.
Very nice beach, accessible for everyone and in Victoria, has clean washrooms and a restaurant, as well as a green space park right behind it with a walking path, it is however very busy.
There's a sandy beach, a grassy field if you'd rather watch and an ice cream/tea house shop right nearby. You can't really ask for more. The only reason this is 4 stars is because this beach get's super busy on hot days in the summer, so it'll be a little tricky finding parking and a spot on the beach.
I LOVE this beach, gorgeous views and Believe it or not, CLEAN PUBLIC BATHROOMS!
A nice sandy beach, great for swimming and sunbathing. This is a very popular spot when the weather is giid. There is also a well maintained lawn which is perfect for throwing a frisbee or a ball with friends.
Super family beach. Sand is a little gravelly but it's a huge beach. Plenty of shade in nearby park area. Tea rooms, reasonably priced. Tidal, shoreline has a gentle slope .
Willows beach is one of our favorites ♥️ we go there often with the kids. There is amazing good, park and beach ♥️ plus love the tea party parade and festival the first weekend of June ????
Nice sandy beach, beautiful walk but lots of people. Drive down Estevan Avenue and park right in front of the water for lunch!
One of the favorite places for this former prairie boy to visit early Saturday with a coffee and contemplate life
Good place to go Winter swimming!!!! Although I wish there was some sort of covered public area included in the amenities. …
Great (SANDY) beach, you can see Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainer, play beach volley ball, and tons of walking trails close by. Nice and long walk. free parking stalls all along Esplanade.
Beautiful beach! .... Really NIMBY area - plastered with signs of "Don't do this! No doing that! This is prohibited." Oak Bay is a no fun city for sure.
Beautiful beach near the oak bay area. Great place to have a walk
I love Willows! Remember to come to the Teaparty carnival in the summer! Beautiful white sand beaches are separated from the nearby street by tall grasses and huge piles of beach wood. Great place to build sand castles, nap in the sun, play beach games and even swim on hot days!
Lovely beach. Good spot for social distancing.
It’s definitely the best beaches in Greater Victoria. Has lot of plenty activities during the day time like beach volleyball, boating, kayaking, etc. Lot of space for everyone and a garden nearby hosting some musical festivals during summers. Lively place all time of the year!
Lovely beach with paved walkways and a playground. Public washrooms, seasonal tearoom that serves hotdogs and French fries etc. No dogs allowed during the summer. Wheelchair accessible parking.
A long beach to relax. Sand are clean and fine.
Mislabelled, it's actually GYRO PARK. Willows is in Metchosin. This is the most wonderfully family friendly park/beach. The updates to the playground are really fun, safe, and inclusive. Clean washrooms. Wide open, beautiful space.
Cool beach area, not super busy with change room and bathroom next to the beach. One of the only beaches around with sand on it around Victoria
Sometimes, the shadow of the Mt. Baker sleeps on the silky blue pacific mirror.
I would rather go to Gonzales Beach but this is a nice alternative with the park for kids as well as a nice boardwalk for a walk. It can get way to busy in summer which is one reason I like Gonzo better, but this would come in second place. Also, if it happens to be a windy day, you'll feel the wind more on this beach then you would Gonzo because you're more sheltered there with the elevation change, but willows is a good second choice if its closer to you.
This park has it all! Bathrooms that are open year round, a grassy field, a park in the shade (a nice reprieve to the sunny spots) a gorgeous beach, a walkway along the water and a tea house that has the best onion rings in Victoria! The Tea House sells snacks and food (that is opened seasonally, so check out their website for hours). There is a parking lot off of Beach Drive just past the park, and street parking on both sides of Beach Drive, as well as street parking off of Esplanade which is off Estevan, off of Beach Drive. We have SO many great memories at this park!
Love this beach coz it has a little park attached to it. It’s perfect if you want to hang out since it has volleyball nets, an outdoor gym and lots of space to play.
It's a beautiful beach
On an exceptionally clear day you can see Mt. Rainier. Not to be confused with Mt. Baker which you can see on a mostly clear day.
Beautiful beach to walk along. Amazing any time of year!
Beautiful local beach. Perfect place to picnic or bring the kids.
Really nice walkway, andthe cafe is open
One of the best beach in victoria....there is a playground for toddlers & bigger kids. This can be a very good picnic spot....definitely fun for all ages.
A beautiful beach with public washrooms, parking, children's play area and a small restaurant.
I love tjis place because of its nostalgia I've been going for 20+ years. But for people new to the area, expect sand beaches, calm waters, toilets, playgrounds, natural habitats protected by environmental law (which is awesome and great for the animals) walking in the opposite direction youll get to snoop all the neat little beach houses and fancy boats that the rich people like to toodle around in on sunny days. Lovely spot.
A fun beach to hang out with with friends, willows is one of the great sandy beaches on the peninsula. Often crowded on nice days, but not packed, if you need to soak in some rays or watch a boat sail across the seas, come down to willows to hang with some people in the shallows and throw a frisbee around.
We went there because my daughter's name is Willow. Beach is very average. Park is nice enough.
Awesome sandy beach for the kids. Further north there’s a bunch of tide pools with little critters.
Standing sunsets, quiet and spiritual place to sit and watch the ocean.
Best beach in Victoria
One of the nicest Sandy beaches we have around Victoria great place to bring the whole family there is the rotary club that serves some great snacks and also have ice cream to cool yourself down after a hot day along beach.
Beautiful white sandy beach but gravel at the waters edge. Unfortunately the water seemed to have some sort of algae bloom or nasty sludge today ???? Talked to some great locals who said it’s not normally like that. Super easy beach access and lots of parking which was convenient.
Nice beach to enjoy with the filter. Big trees provides shade mid afternoon. Can get a little crowded during events.
it's nice. The snacks are good and it's fun when they have the amusement park.
Sandy beach with all the natural amenities. Protected. Backed by a park with playground, picnic tables and lots of well tended green space. There is even a tea room in season. Very clean. Dogs banned in summer. No smoking. Fabulous views. On a clear day you can see three volcanoes.
Pretty nice beach along the ocean. Some nice views but can’t see much of the mountains, a playground for kids, public bathroom, some benches, some parking. Pretty busy on a weekend. The sand is pretty nice and soft. Nice trees bordering the area as well.
In my opinion, best park in Victoria with great sand beach and large grass area.
One of the most beautiful beaches in Victoria... my favourite. Absolutely gorgeous views, friendly people, wildlife, and good all year round.
Good clean beach. Great for kids. Nice view of the ocean and surrounding area.
Good but very windy
Happened upon this beach in the evening...not busy, flat view east, cold breeze, pleasant, lots of green seaweed lapping on the shore...it’s wonderful to see a piano towards the north end of beach (up by sidewalk, silly)
Chill and gorgeous little beach. Worth walking the sea shore, its a great relaxing spot
Best beach in Victoria, very busy in the summer, but lots of room. The no dogs rules is kind of nice since people were not picking up after them and lots of children come here. The park, restrooms and beach volleyball courts make this a great place to go.
The best beach that is close to vic. Hard not to have a great time there. Besides the sand beach there is a nice walkabout and a concession stand/public washrooms Lots of parking and easy access to nearby bus lines a block away
very pretty nice sunrise, however, ... THE water is very cold do not try swimming in here at any time of the year. period.
Always clean and has a nice little place for food as well. Great place for a walk on the beach, volleyball, or a time out with the dogs and especially the kids.
Green space & tables great for picnics. Play structure for kids, nice sandy beach. Concession stand with cheap food & treats. Change rooms were locked and there was no outdoor rinse station, so getting all the sand off was a little difficult.
My pick for best beach in Victoria hands down. Take the coastal route from the city centre, past the seawall and around the eclectically quaint neighbourhoods to this little gem of an inner city beach. If sand isn't your thing you'll find a big field and a great playground for the kids. The view of the US mainland is really something special too. Even if you pop over for a few minutes, this beach is a must for any visitor to Victoria, regardless of the time of year.
Beautiful scenery, lovely beach. The Oak Bay Tea party is a great fair.
Sandy. Usually alot of wildlife like seals and eagles around. One of my fav spots on the coast
One of the best beaches in Victoria. Has a public washroom and change room. You can easily access the beach through multiple stairwells and there is a large green space. Convenient concession stand with a large array of choices
One of my favorite Brach on the Island. Peaceful environment. Nice community around
Great place for friends n family picnic
One of the best beaches in the area! Very soft fine sand and there is washroom and ice cream shop at it. I would recommend!
Fantastic beach, with washrooms, changerooms, playground, parking, restaurant, ect. If you go swimming, it'll be in the cold ocean. It rarely heats up here. The beach is very sandy and good for large groups or parties.
This beach is only dog friendly in the late fall through early spring but during those times the people are super friendly and the beach is a wonderful walk at at mid to low tide. It has a sidewalk with lots of benches to rest on, along with a park complete with washrooms and a childrens' play area. In the summer months there is a Tea Room that serves hot burgers and sweets for charity. A must visit beach for animal lovers and sunbathers alike!
Beautiful beach. Walked along road looking at the beautiful houses. Great scenic area
The "flower cottage" at Willows beach is breathtaking! The beach and park grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Lots of nice families and other young people enjoying the Summer evenings with a picnic or game of soccer or volleyball. It's a great spot! A gem in the city.
Our dog is so happy to have this beach to swimming! Today saw small jumping fish close to shore and a happy seal nearby feeding. Beautiful ????
Well well well. Willows beach is an awesome, CLEAN, beach, with fairly clean ocean water. It is a wonderful place to lounge in the Sun and enjoy the crisp clean ocean water. Take the kids or not... beach days are the epitome of what summer is all about.
This is the nicest Sandy Beach in Victoria. There's a nice promenade and a tea room which is open from April to September providing light fare. There's also a kids playground, ample green space for activities and picnic tables & benches, also washrooms. It's a great place to hangout for families and solos of all ages.
Great beach, especially during the months when you can let your dog loose here.
Beautiful and quiet beach with lots of areas for sun and shade.
Always a beautiful place to stroll along the beach and enjoy the air and the view! See and here the little kidlets laugh and play. Don't forget all the dogs!
A wonderful place to gather and take in a beautiful walk along the beach
Lived it. The view is amazing and the beach is sandy. The park is a plus for families
This is a wee piece of paradise on a sunny day. The beach is sandy, the sea gentle and the breeze refreshing. One can view seals, eagles and Canadian geese doing their thing. If human life is more important to you, there are two beach volley ball courts and healthy folk using them. It is child friendly and there are washrooms. My only problem is that with its flat beach and boring horizon featuring only a few low-lying islands is devoid of inspiration and does not truly reflect what wild Vancouver Island has to offer. On a clear day, there are majestic views of the Olympic Mountain Range and far in the distance Mount Baker. It is one of the major volcanoes on the north west coast of continental United States of America. It sure looks like a volcano, ready to erupt pretty darnt' quick-like.
Nice beach, great for the family or crushing some tins with friends.
Nice beach, clean washrooms and great sand to have fun with the kids.
It’s a nice beach, with some grassy areas as well! The sand is also so nice and soft. Nice place to go for a beach day with the family.
Very nice beach. Clean, great area for kids, there's a great spot near the end that's not so busy, lots of parking on both sides.
is there some new teen game where they throw bocci balls at each other? if yes then this beach has got it all
Great downtown style beach. It's got sand, logs, and beautiful views, but parking is limited and it can get very crowded and busy. Probably a people watcher's paradise. Pretty good public washrooms that were clean on my visits, but not very big for the number of people using this beach on a sunny day.
One of the nice beaches in Victoria. Calm water, sweet views & sand - yes, soft white sand!
Great old school municipal park. Quiet , great views, 70 year old concession stand. Walk up to cattle point for view of mt Baker and Camas fields. One of my favorite places in Victoria
Pretty much all the places on Vancouver Island deserves a 4 stars. I spent a night there, was calm and relaxing. Peace
Wonderful for a walk along the promenade, and all the way to Cattle Point if you want a longer walk.
Really nice beach. Worth stopping at. Quite quiet, good place to picnic.
My cousin's name is Willow , she's a beach too :P
Perfect spot both for family/friends gatherings and personal time off. One of my favorite summer weekday escape.
Very nice beach, you can easily spend the day there to enjoy sand and water. Only has a small food outlet, though, that I've never figured out the regular hours for. Would love something a little bigger with more consistency.
Very nice view. A little bit far but it was all worth it. If you want to have a break from the city, better go here.
Play ground, supping, long beach, clean washrooms...seen seals close to shore and jellies here. Just a nice spot.
One of the nicest beaches in Victoria. Has a field for playing catch, benches and picnic tables, a concession. It’s a beauty.
Quiet beach, less touristy. Scenic drive to go back to the city is a must!
One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen! Peaceful, amazing view and pure tranquility!!
Peaceful, cold water lapping gently on the shore,.... pebbles and pieces of shell,....soft dry sandy Beach, nice to walk on, and dry, logs to sit on and feel the sun warming you, the cool air softly caress you!! It was a sweet day!
This is one of the best beaches around Victoria. Almost 1km long and nice and sandy. There is a concession available in the summer and change rooms, washroom, swings, play equipment, and a field.
We spent a couple of hours at this beach in July 2017. My kids could not swim because the water was very cold. The bathrooms were smelly and not clean.
Beautiful beach we went for the oak bay tea party was a great day great music! Beautiful views of the mountains. Overall great time spent.
Awesome spot to set up a volleyball net! Super large grassy field where tons of people can set up their own games and not interfere with one and other. Beach is pretty nice for a Victoria beach and the water is super refreshing (very cold) but fantastic after playing hours of volleyball! Defiantly coming back to this beach it’s a must visit
Great beach! Not too crowded. Nice sand for activities and easy entrance for swimming. Views of the Olympic mountains and Oak Bay coastline. One of the best in town
This stretch of sand in Oak Bay is one of the favourite beaches in Victoria for sun tanning. The park has washrooms and a playground for small children. The Kiwanis tea room is a good place to purchase a snack or a light meal.
Love, love, love sun rises on this beach! There are geese floating around, people swimming at this time and if it is raining you get the occasional epic rainbow extending across the harbor. The sand is so soft and my shoes just always seem to fall off :) If you haven't already checked this place out put it on your bucket list!
Beautiful beach to walk on, take your family for a picnic and swimming. Pet Friendly.
This is a great beach. Sandy with logs to sit. There is a way to get small boats and kayaks down easily to the water. There is a small cafe where you can buy food and drinks There are public washrooms Great large playground for kids Picnic tables Large field to play sports
Willows Beach is a fantastic spot. We experienced a clean beach, great park, and a fantastic concession area. I don’t feel the word “concession” properly describes the delicious food we enjoyed at a very fair price. We spent the day between the beach and playground area and enjoyed a clean safe area to enjoy the ocean. The only thing I would change about Willows Beach would be an addition of a beach shower.
Easy access to beach. Small field for pick-up sports. On bus route. Children's playground with imaginative equipment. Serene ocean views. Benches for sitting and contemplating. Picnic tables for family gatherings. Well-kept washrooms and changerooms. Teahouse and concession building within adjacent Willows Park. Water fountain.
A great time with the family. Beautiful first May weekend,
Great place to take kids and swim????????????
A good beach for an afternoon walk. Popular with dog walkers. A great view over to Oak Bay marina and across to Mount Baker. A beautiful spot.
Best beach in Victoria, with all the amenities, playground for kids, tea house open everyday until end of September.
Great sand and amazing views. The waters here are quite protected, as well, which makes for great swimming, wind surfing, sailing, etc.
Best beach in Victoria! Quality hours spent here every weekend in the summer. Snacks and freezies at the food services booth is so reasonable too!
Very nice beach but people do not pick up after their dogs sometimes which can be a problem
A beautiful little beach with incredible views of Mt Baker and Mt Olympus on clear days. Lots of happy dogs walking the beach among logs and kelp.
Beautiful sandy beach with amazing mountain views.
Willows beach has white sand and is one of the three nicest beaches, as well as the longest, in Victoria!
Lots to do with the kids.
Great place for spending time with families and friends. They have kids park. Not crowded as seen in the photo. They have volleyball nets, wide shoreline, and Blackberries lol. I love warm water that is why I didn't swim. There are tables and benches to put food. Washroom is on the far left side.
A beautiful beach, but with a large crowd. It's definitely one of the nicest beaches in all of Victoria!
One of my favorite dog parks! Probably my dogs favorite spot in Victoria. No dogs during the summer though and that's fine by me, 9 months of the year is good enough.
Sandy beach and playground for young children. A beautiful spot to relax or swim. There is also a concession for food, and public washrooms.
A beautiful place, always relaxing. Great place to discover Victoria
Beautiful beach, it is better during the off-season when you can bring your dog off-leash.
very nice, busy beach. lots of people. kids. even a little cafe . local favorite.
Beautiful beach, good for all ages. Water even warms up a little in summer
Really easy to get to by buses, great place for a picnic, but watch those birds!
Still a clean beach despite the obvious pressure from a growing population and a beach drive and cars. Needs the vehicular access modified a bit for safety, fumes and some quiet.
Nice beach, beautiful view and friendly walking area. Need more cleaning around the Tea room.
Great beach for kids and all ages with play structure and grass picnic area.
I went here for the MS Walk and quite enjoyed the scenery. The park was clean and inviting for all ages. Lots of fun to be had here.
White sandy beach with places to eat. Bathrooms and a cafe.
Great little Beach with heron fishing in the shore... Playground right on the beach along with a tea house. There are rocks right off the coast with plenty of wildlife on the rocks... Bring your binoculars!
Wonderful soft sandy walking beach. Love to visit often. So much beautiful driftwood. Happy people. Such an expansive, long, narrow beach, many options for everyone.
Sand not as good as in picture, but it's sand beach anyway. Shallow water. U can swim , and there are tables and playground close to beach. Good for a day to spend.
Nice Beach but the water is colder for children as it is shallow for a short distance. My kid's were shivering and one of their lips turned blue. No playground where I can see and the parking lot small. Not as family friendly as Gyros. Don't let this deter you though, it is a nice place to kick back, relax, and let your kids play with sand.
Cute little beach just outside the downtown core. Small patches of both hard and soft white sand. Water is very clean
Nice beach and picnic area
Willows Beach is absolutely fantastic in the summer. The sand is soft and it’s a great place to take the whole family.
Best beach in Victoria! The whole Willows Beach Neighbourhood is beautiful, this is one of the best locations in Canada to live!
Pretty beach. Happy place. Easy access. Food and drinks available. Washrooms. Grassed area. Children's park. Handicap access and parking. Picnic areas with tables. Very picturesque!
Beautiful beach, loads of parking and a short drive from DT.
Beautiful beach right in town, dog friendly, (except summer time, May 1- Sept 30) washrooms, tea house for food. Grass field with children's playground and trees for shade. Free parking, but can get crowded, transit friendly though
Love this beach. Sandy. Park is great for kids.
I love that the beach is right there (no long staircase), and it's very sociable since it's quite busy and there's s walk path ????
Beautiful! So many places to sit, walk on the path or on the beach. Love this spot!
Nice place to take your kids. Only if the dog owners could learn how to keep their pets to themselves.
Popular park on weekends, great beach for swimming
It is close by my sons home so that is why we visited the beach. Very clean.
So calm, so peaceful. Absolutely beautiful!
Usually take our puppy for play in this beach. Great atmosphere. Although duribg the summer dog must be on leash which is kinda lame.
Victoria's longest sand beach. Has bathrooms and a large grass area for recreational use. Wildlife ia often spotted from the beach such as: bald-eagle, seals, Canada geese, otters, mallards, Piper's and other seasonal birds.
Beautiful place day and night, even when its busy its easy to find a spot away from crowds. Great for swimming in the summer, walks, and dog watching!
It's a great place for kids. It has a sandy beach, a playground and a tearoom. Overall a nice place to go on a sunny day.
One of best beaches in the Victoria area. Nice sand, views, and clean beach. Very walkable. There's a grassy area and playground for kids to run around and picnic tables throughout. There are washrooms on site and a water fountain. …
Great beach for a sandy walk anytime of the year except the middle of summer
A very nice beach in a pretty part of town but gets busy when it's nice out
One of the few public beaches in Oak Bay. Lots of people in the summer - lots of dogs in the winter. It has a great view of Mount Baker (weather permitting). The beach is sandy (not pebbles) so it is good for both yoga and sand castles.
So beautiful. It was a good place for walking and picnicking. There are a lot of bench there.
Awesome beach and tearoom..site of an ancient First Nations village clean sand great for children with a great play area expansive lawn site of the yearly Oak Bay Tea party with midway rides live music carnival atmosphere easy access for wheelchairs picnic tables and excellent views nearby boat launch at Cattle Point Just north of the beach surrounded by beautiful homes very popular in spring and summer for locals and visitors and fall and winter for brave locals Close proximity to Oak Bay Marina with available fueling dock for visiting yachts and smaller powerboats..subject to winter storm action that requires care from boat owners due to mooring lines breaking and boats being washed ashore at lower Willows ( south end)..summer brings visitors from all over the world for swimming, board sailing and sun tanning and great photographic opportunities wildlife such as seals otters eagles hawks blue heron and passing pods of orcas ...great place for families
Great place for whole family! Beautiful view, nice beach, close to everything.
Nice clean beach. Picnic tables, big field, and the Kiwanis Tea Room for treats.
Beautiful beach. Lovely park. Clean bathrooms. Good time.
Beautiful well kept beach. Nice free concerts offered in the evening
Great view, but not the best place for swimmers
Beautiful little local beach for swimming and lounging. We like to bring a picnic and a book and make a day of it.
Nice Beach with white sand, it's off leash, heated bathrooms also a playground for Rugrats. Lol jk
One of my favourite beaches in Victoria. Public washrooms, great view, good place to do homework (there's shaw open WiFi down there ;) )
Great place to enjoy the beach and have a quick walk
What's not to like?.... Join us for a morning swim at Bowker St year round! ;)
Great partially shaded beach. Water isn't the best, as there is a good amount of seaweed and silt, but it's usually too cold for adults anyway
I like to beach here
Great views and a nice place to spend family time
Wonderful beach for a stroll. Always lots of people. Dogs have beach access during the winter months.
Great beach. Arrive early in the day if you want a parking spot close to the beach
This is one of the quieter beaches on this stretch of the coast. It is a good beach with fine sand and is gently sloping. There is a small cafe with a good range of items. There is parking space and toilets.
Willows Beach is a dog walkers dream. Its also fantastic for families with small children. Walking the beach, swimming and sailing in the bay, making sandcastles in the sand. Willows is also the site of a former First Nations village. One of the better beaches in Victoria.
Dogs allowed on the beach October thru May Yeah It's in the chill zone all good all the time
Huge sandy crescent beach. The Tea Room serves several gluten free items.
We are here from Calgary, AB, and really enjoying this beach. It's only early May, and it's so nice and warm and beautiful!! We don't need to go down south for a beach. This is so awesome!!
Best beach in Victoria. Beautiful views, Sandy beaches and nice paths. The tea house, park/playground are all great too. Make sure to check out the Oak Bay Tea Party
Great place to collect some seaweed for the garden, it's actually a beautiful beach. Great view on a clear day
Gorgeous views and lovely and safe for children. Nice large open grassed area with cafe and playground
A nice mix of rugged features and well maintained trails and pathways and of course the stunning views all around. Lots of accessibility options for the less mobile.
Beautiful beach with soft sand. 2 playgrounds, one for toddlers and one for grade school kids. The field is also nice for playing games. Really beautiful
Beautiful beach and far reaching views. Very convenient to get to, has a cafe, clean public washrooms and a children's park.
If your looking for an easy access beach that still isn't too crowded this is great. Lovely views, clean, concessions right there, and a park with a bit of shade and picnic tables! It's great!
Great place to enjoy ocean views and walking the beach. During the summer there is the Kiwanis food spot for either sit down meals or outside access for on-the-go hotdogs, etc and ice cream. People can walk not olny Willows Beach but all the way along the coast over to Cattle Point with it" boat launch.
Love this beach- it does get very crowded and there are lots of dog owners out for a walk!
One of my fav spot in Victoria
One of Victoria's many gems, soft sand, crisp and refreshing sea water, and views for days. Great spot.
Great family destination for swimming, playing at the park or having tea at the famous tea room. Beautiful view and a nice walking path.
An absolutely fantastic place to spend a day in the sun. Sand varies in consistency but there are some nice areas to grab some sun and lots of birds to keep you company. A splendid place for pictures and not the worst place to grab a quick swim in the ocean. Beach is well kept and has food accessible, a nearby park and a great place to just chill with friends. I can not wait to return here!
My favourite beach in Victoria. Beautiful place to walk with my dog.. The last place to walk with my beloved dog, Aga...
Not our greatest beach in Victoria, if youre looking for a sandy beach-this isnt one known for having a lot of sand to walk and lay blankets out on. Its pretty rocky and there isnt much difference between high and low tides. But it does have public washrooms and sometimes in the summer a concession is opened.
I think Willows is a great space for all sorts of leisure things you may want to do: hangout on the beach, hangout on grass & play some lawn games, BBQ & picnic, etc. It is surrounded by neighbours who don't really enjoy loudness so if you're going to do an evening picnic (and say... you bring your own propane fire pit) call the local police/fire first just to let them know because 100% guaranteed they will get a call from the neighbours.
This is a beautiful beach, the only problem is the temperature, sometimes is very cold, but nice. A nice place to visit in Victoria!
Probably the nicest sand beach in Victoria. I prefer the northern area off estevan as it has decent parking and is often less crowded than the south. The only thing that's make this section nicer is a food truck or ice cream stand.
Beautiful area, bit of a hike to get to the beach but worth every step. Space for camping on the beach, dog friendly. Beware bears.
Willows beach is a great spot to just relax on your own or with family. There's a play park nearby for kids (or adventurous adults), and it's never too busy there. The water is very refreshing (read a little cold), so bring a warm towel :-).
Beautiful beach for sitting and walking barefoot in the sand! Has a washroom, grass feild for picnics, white sand beach, playground option for the kids and a nice paved trail for rollerblading or a stroller!
The other day I was wondering what place to visit, and I decided to go to a beach, and Willow's beach was recommended not only by Google, but also by friends. So I grabbed my bike and did a 40 minute ride to Willow's Beach. The ride was great, but the beach was better! I went there so I could have a nice place to read in piece and tranquility. There is people walking, families laughing, dogs running around, and possibly one of the most peaceful places I have visited. It was a great place to read. The weather was great. The sand is really soft. The water is at a shallow level, but excluding winter time, it is definitely a place you can go for a little splash. See the pictures for yourself, and go! Go to the beach!
Sand, sun, view that goes on forever, history, whales, sandpipers, sunrises, Olympics, Port Townsend, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, volcanoes, waves, storms, sailboats. Oh, did I say sand? White soft fluffy sand and the wet stuff to make sand castles and moats with too.
Great beach for little kids. Water is calm but cold at this time of the month
Great place for some quiet time: hear the waves, lie on a small beach with lots of driftwood for support and barriers. …
There is playground for kids. Here is good at playing with sand. Peaceful and lovely beach.
Nice beach! Great place for a relaxing day in the sun.
Serene. Quiet and Peaceful Sandy Beach.
Great place to visit! It is considered the most popular beach in Victoria
Such a beautiful beach with an amazing view. Seals, eagles, herons and friendly dogs all around!
This is one of Victoria's most beautiful swimming beaches, but a walk along it is also lovely. It is located and Oak Bay which is beautiful, quiet, safe, and excellent for walking. There are public bathrooms for changing and with toilets. There are showers to rinse off. There is a playground for children. And during certain hours there is a tea room that has a concession stand. During the summer of the Oak Bay Tea Party Fair is held here.
Great views. Easily accessible and a choice Beach that's currently friendly had a great time there!
Love this long stretched out beach! It has such a cozy feel-good vibe to it. Everyone feels welcome. You will see all ages and everyone gets along great. There's a large expansive lawn area with a few scattered picnic tables and many trees offering shade that the beach doesn't afford. Very clean! All areas. Let's all work together to keep it that way. ???? The bathrooms suck! Sorry but they do. Three stalls in the women's bathroom. Really? We're women, and we're bringing our children in there all the time. Expect to wait. Love the outdoor shower. Simple but effective. There's a small building selling simple food items. Eg. ice cream, pop, chips, prefab sandwiches, hotdogs (but no burgers), onion rings (delish!), and other similar items. There's indoor seating space too. Parking lot on one side of the park is mediocre in size, but at least it's free. There's also more parking along the street, up against most of the length of the beach. I like that, so I can keep an eye out for my vehicle, not that I've heard about break-ins. It feels pretty safe here. Parking in the general surrounding area is also available. And free! Watch for signs that say 'residential parking only'. The beach looks across at an attractive marina. Most people don't swim in the water. Not sure why. Too cold I'm guessing? Kids play around in it a bit. It really is worth a visit. Ride your bicycle to the park and beach as it's a beautiful bike ride with lots to look at along the way. In short, I don't think this park disappoints. Expect crowds. And the chance to meet lots of nice friendly happy people.
Love this beach. Water is very cold year round but always nice when the sun is shining.
Quaint beach. Nice walkway. Lovely view. Sandy beach but sometimes seaweed. Playground for the kids and a large lawn. Bathrooms and a tearoom with limited hours
A walk distance beach you can chill at. Really nice!!
An amazing beach to explore, Go for a walk, relax in the summer highly recommend
Willows Beach/Park is a great place for kids, adults, families, and dogs. The park itself is a great place to play with lots of space to spread out. The beach is a long stretch and has a beautiful view out over the water.
Nice views and great location for people of all ages. One Victoria's true Sandy beaches.
Over the years we have brought our kids here and everyone loves it. Great playground, exceptional views and a great beach! Not all rocky like some of the other "beaches" around town :-)
Great place to go for your morning walk! The beach has a bit of a slope, but is mostly sandy. During the summer dogs are not allowed on the beach, but at the beginning of October your furry friends can walk on the beach; they must be leashed though and you must pick up, of course. It faces south toward the Olympic Range and the multiple islands off the coast. Sunrise is especially beautiful. There are many benches for resting; a typical park washroom; outdoor shower; 2 water fountains; a nice little playground for young children; a very large grassy area, plus during certain days and times a 'tea house' is available for meals and snacks. There is a boat launch and a good size parking lot. Many sea birds play in the waters at the beach as well as sea otters. The park and walking path is well lit at night. There is no parking between midnight and 6 am though.
Love this beach, even though I am a dog lover, i appreciate that this beach doesn't allow dogs during the summer. Parking can be hard to find, better to ride a bike.
Beautiful beach, lovely cool park attached with picnic tables overlooking the water. Such a pleasant environment
Beautiful Sandy Beach and park close by with clean washroom and change facilities. A great place to picnic or just veg on your beach blanket.????
Lovely spot for walking and for picnics. Good concession at the park.
Attended the Oak Bay Tea Party here which was a fun event for the entire family. Plenty of rides and games for the kids and live events including an air show as well as boat races on the water.
This is one of my favourite beaches. The sewage system unfortunately dumps out here but the sewage will be re directed in the future. Stick to the right side of the beach for clear water.
Easy access and paths for people with wheels along the sand beach and grass area with a perfect view
I have been going to this beach for ever and it only looks better, I would definitely recommend going to Willows beach for family fun, or just a day of relaxing!
Great beach with awesome sand. Picnic tables, washroom/changeroom and playground. Kinsmen concession/restaunt is well priced and very nice! Highly recommended beach!
Beautiful Sandy beach.
Best sandy beach in Victoria. Long. Clean water. Beautiful views. One of the reasons the city is so outstanding.
Big sandy beach by the ocean. Good size park for little ones. Excellent views.
Very beautiful beach
It's nice place to go with a family. Walking straight along the sand beach was pretty nice.
Lots of beach, lots of sand, playgrounds, grass, and a place to buy ice cream.
Good local beach to visit sometime. Good thing there's a restroom close by.
Nice beach with playground and caffe (take out).
I loved taking a break at Willow’s beach during my weekend bike rides around the coast. It’s usually pretty quiet, clean and easy access to the beach.
Good place to drive along.. Not clean though.. Peaceful and calm
A lovely beach with bunch of geese swimming around. The farthest view is amazing. You can see a dockyard also. There’s a playground near the beach. It’s best for picnic purposes!
Best beach to hang out during most of the year in Victoria. Fairly clean bathrooms, kids area and some picnic tables.
A lovely place to walk the dog, see sea otters and other wildlife and enjoy lovely views.
This is, as far as I’m concerned, the best recreational, family-friendly beach in the city. However, this beach allows off-leash dog walking in the off-season and should be fenced accordingly for safety reasons. There is a trafficked road that runs parallel to the narrow beach and dogs often run into the road. While generally a dog friendly city, there is a major lack of fencing / safe off-leash dog parks in this city.
Beauty of a spot. Can be crowded in summer. But nice sandy beach
Willows beach is a beautiful, sandy beach with awesome views. It's easy to find a spot to sit, lay, whatever and nearby Cities Point is also a great place to hangout.
It is a beautiful place. Makes me think of the love of my life. Police. Sand. Cruise ships.
A great little get-away only 7 minutes from my house! Beautiful beach. So much fun for the kids
Great spot in Victoria to go the the beach. There is also a great park for kids to play here with climbing, slides, & swings. There is also a field for games like soccer and frisbee
Yes party is lots of fun for the family But over all a nice beach to visit. Nest near low tide.
Good all year round..walking on sidewalk or beach, playground, driftwood castles, wildlife, dog ???? beach in winter and kid beach in summer. Kiwanis snack bar also in summer. Facilities for picnics anytime.
Definitely the best beach around. It is nice because the beach seems to separate it's self with kids being in the middle of the beach located by the bathrooms where people in their 20's and 30's sick to the sides of the beach. Great vibe!
Went at night , pitch black , was sure I heard whale killers
Fantastic, relaxing family-friendly waterfront with jungle gym and park area, as well as sandy beach with driftwood logs to use as benches or headrests.
My favorite beach
Nice beach and park, with a snack bar and a parking area. Great views of Oak Bay Marina and small islands.
Fabulous beach water freezing but the kids loved it. Food and toilets on site which was really lovely. Great park with lots of shade. Will definitely be back.
Sand is cool, lots of kids however. The hut thing is great for food. Not good skim boarding, but good for dog walks.
Sandy beaches, sunshine and waves. What else could you want! Check out the live music during the summer months for a great evening.
Very clean, sandy beach. It has washroom, change room, a kid playground, a diner, and a grass field. Limited parking space, but a bus stop is just 3 minutes away.
A beautiful sandy beach with plenty of parking. Loved the park across the parking aswell. All in all, a perfect picnic place for the family or for swimming in summers.
Such a beautiful place to go
Very busy and popular spot - has beach, grassy area, picnic tables, playground and concession (but concession not open atm)
Beautiful place all sand beach walking area, park for kids, enjoy
Sail boats, children building sand castles, walks along the ocean, picnics in the park, climb the hill to the lookouts, otters bobbing up & down in the ocean, peace & serenity - one of my favourite go to places for relaxation.
This beach is sandy, beautiful, soft and great for kids. Highly recommend. There's a reason it's always busy.
Great beach , few shaded area away from the sand. Snack shop, parking lot , plus street parking and public washroom. Bring a sunshade for shelter from the sun.
Beautiful, lots of parking space, great place to relax or to go for a walk
Beautiful sandy beach cove with a view of the mountains. Great for walks, beach games and has a public rest room. Dog friendly too.
Lovely park, and beach where you can relax, read a book, watch people, get a coffee or a snack, and have a pleasant time.
Willows features family friendly white sand beaches with a washroom, playground, and tea room for snacks. This beach is clean, safe, and very accessible with street parking steps from the sand!
Sand not squishasquish on toe. Is good time lotsa birbs
Beautiful place to visit year round. Sometimes you can find a nice secluded spot and have a very peaceful visit.
Beautiful sandy beach in Oak Bay. Great little tea room called Willows Beach Tea House. Limited menu but excellent food with reasonable prices.
Gorgeous beach with amazing views. Lots to do in the area as well!
Willows Beach is beautiful. The beach has a sandy strip right down the middle with rocky beach closer to the water and rocky beach closer to the road as well. The water is quite cold still, but the beach is beautiful and there is lots of space. There is parking available right alongside the beach which was perfect for us today! There are streets nearby to park on if there isn't parking available right st the beach!
One of the best beaches in Victoria. Soft white sand with driftwood to lean up on. Water is a tad cold, but don't be afraid to dive right in! Only downside is it can get very busy :(
Beautiful long, deep sandy beach, with views of Mount Baker and the Coastal Range, islands, sea traffic and occasional seals and otters. Dogs welcome, and leash-free in the low season. Behind the beach is a nice grassy flat park for informal sports (smaller than a standard football field), a kids playground and jungle gym, public bathroom. Also an old burger-style beach cafeteria, with limited hours. Accessible from Beach Ave, or walking trails from North or South. North trail connects with Cattle Point and Uplands Park.
We stumbled onto this beach and are happy we did. Parking in the parking lot is impossible as there are no spaces, but do not worry, there are plenty of parking along Esplanade Drive. We love the texture of the sand and there are little to no bugs. It's very quiet, but that might be because we came on a weekday. There's also a grassy area along with a play area for kids. Water appears shallow for a little while out into sea. Will definitely pop by again.
Just avoid it on busy days..otherwise very nice place with the sea view and weather too..Childrens can make castles, play in sand
This beach has hundred's of fond memories, including a picture of my wife and I playing as toddler's if you can believe that.
Nice beach with a beautiful view! The sand is soft and fine at this beach but it also has plenty of West coast driftwood. The water is cold so I wouldn't recommend going into the water but it's a nice place to hang out. If you can get a bus or walk here it will save you a headache because, parking here is a nightmare. Towards the south end of the beach there is a concession with ice cream and other deep fried/ packaged goodies.
Love bringing my dog to Willows beach in the fall and winter!
One of my favorite beaches in the city. I have never gone to the tea house. This beach has public washrooms a Sandy section and grassy area with a playground.
Not many douchebags. Family oriented. Course, artificial sand. Lovely views. Public restroom. Change room. Tea room/fine concession. Good parking. Playground. Large grassy field for play. Good place.
Gorgeous Beach with sand, and a grassy field, snack shop, playground and bathrooms. Lots of space to play beach volleyball, have a picnic, bring your portable barbeque and stay for dinner. Water can be cold for swimming but many kayak, paddle board and there's a marine close by.
Beautiful sandy beach with a lot of big driftwood. Views of mountains on two sides in the distance
Nice beach with lots of shady grass areas.
Beautiful Beach, of my favorites in Victoria. Park is great for toddlers and older kids and the beach is fun for exploring. The water is calm enough for paddle boarding as well. Good picnic area as well.
Willows has a gorgeous view of mount Baker and nice soft sandy beaches.
Nice and peaceful beach.
Nice part with beach access and nicely kept washrooms. The play structure were enjoyed by the kids with us. Lovely walking path along the shore.
The magic of the Waxing Gibbous of the full corn moon of September 2020. The photo were taken just before the peak before the moon entered into the Waning Gibbous phase of the cycle. All photos shot using included photo app on Samsung Galaxy S10 using standard camera lens of Samsung Galaxy S10. As you can see, cellphone cameras aren't great at capturing the moon.
Nice beach with public services, playground and a great view of Mount Baker
Food concession good, indoor and outdoor seating. Clean sandy beach. No Dog's allowed on beach May to end of September.
Our favorite beach. The sand is always nice and the tide is never too high.
Great beach winter or summer. Bring your dogs and kids. Just be aware its very full on sunny weekends.
Off leash dog friendly during the winter. Always loved coming here as a teenager
A park. A beach. A playground. With a bathroom. Good parking. A fantastic view. A perfect place for any adventure.
What a delightful place. There are public washrooms, unfortunately no warm or hot water. A great little play park for the kiddos. The scenery was awesome
Lovely sandy beach.
Very nice beach with free parking. Water was pretty cold though even in August.
Greater Victoria's most popular beach. Dogs welcome Oct. 1 to April 30. In spring/summer popular with sunbathers (especially left/north end) and families (especially center near the playground/washrooms/concession/tea room). Bring your paddleboard, kayak, sandcastle building toys, etc. You might spot harbour seals, a blue heron, etc. Have fun and adults don't forget to put a piece of plastic/glass/metal in the bin if you see on the beach after a storm, errant bird, little kid, etc.
Beautiful place and fantastic spot for kids. Public washroom available. Dogs are allowed at the beach
Great walk along the water. Play equipment for little kids. Very nice beach.
Beautiful beach. Great for taking your dog for a walk along the water.
Great beach for morning walks with a large green space and playground south central end.
Beautiful spot with lots of beach access. Dogs are allowed which is also a bonus
Beautiful beach. If your visiting Victoria and want to find a nice relaxing beach to get some sun or let the kids play, visit this beach first. It's close to town, but is perfect to get away.
Very kid friendly. Clean beach. Nice park too. There is a parking lot which gets full quick on sunny days
Willows beach is always a beautiful spot to spend time and enjoy the beautiful views.
Nice clean park with public washrooms and nice sandy beaches
Lovely sand beach with a nice bay and a playground for kids. Can drive up right to it, park and eatin the car watching sunset. Also an off-leash doh area between september and may.
Beautiful spot to watch the sunset! The beach is quite nice ???? although there are rocks and a couple of logs here and there, it is one of the nicest beaches in the area!
Perfect for family with kids. Lots of activities to do. There's also a place to buy find food if you're hungry.
It was great. Nice and sunny for most of the afternoon. And I had the chance to be and enjoy the park beside the beach to have a picknick, and then go for occasional walks in the beach. There's also picknick tables, which makes it nice and accessible if you don't want to sit on the grass or in the beach.
Nature as always!, gets a top review!! This beach is nice with views all around and plenty of room to find your own litl piece to enjoy it all. Their is parking but very limited, so you may need, to find it a litl prior to the beach proper. A quaint litl Tea Room serves typical beach snacks if you didnt pack any! A public rest room serves when needed! Bring the dog and family, and enjoy a beautiful place!
This is how you party! I've been living here for decades but I have to say, no one throws a party like Oak Bay. They give the West Coast Amusements a little bit of space, then fill it up with other amazing attractions so it's not a Carny Monopoly. More food choices, more activities for the kids, the beach, and interesting things to engage all ages and demographics. Gets better and better every year. By the way, hearing the bands march in from the street is the best. Gives the festivities a real pomp atmosphere! More marching bands! Spectrum High! You blew us away!
Best beach in Victoria.
Beautiful beach at Oak Bay
Great beach year round. Dog friendly in the winter months. Busy in the summer but worth a visit. Playground for kids is popular.
Super soft white sand beaches with lots to sit on and plenty to watch. Cold water but typical for around here. Good for people of all ages.
Great spot for lunch
Visited on a clear day, could see mount baker. Lovely spot to get some sun and let the kids have a play
Beautiful beach with a touch of responsible adults enjoying a cold one!
Beautiful beach not far from downtown Victoria.
Beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains! A great place to enjoy the evening sun.
Beautiful little beach and park. The view on a clear day is fantastic! There are picnic tables to enjoy a meal at and the grassy park is perfect for games and lounging with a book
Great sand, downside is dogs are not allowed on the beach in the summer. If only the water wasn't so cold.
This is a special spot! Great place to bring a beach towel and spend a day or an evening. Love it!!! In the evening it is quiet. Great for bringing your special someone. During the day there are kids playing in the sand, people walking their dogs, and all sorts of people gathered along the beach. It is definately worth a visit. Great view as well!!!
Beautiful beach. I was there for the Oak Bay Tea Party. It was a lot of fun. There were planes, parachuters, and a Giant Tea Cup race!
This place is nice to take a walk by if you are on the sidewalk. The beach is covered in rocks and gravel, which does not make it fun for kids. The tide was low when we were there, and there were a few dead fish and crabs. That certainly did add to the excitement. I do have to say the view was very nice, and if that's all you are looking for, it's worth the drive!
Beach with playground, ample parking on a sunny winter day. Fine sand mixed with rounded pebbles of many types
This beach is nice but can be very cold!
The water was sooooooooooooo cold. The kids had fun. Got to swim in the water at the same time as the seals (although they didn't get too close)
Love that this beach is off leash over the winter. Great if you just need a quick walk. Stunning views. Always fantastic people and dogs out.
This is probably the nicest sandy (off-white) beach in town. Lots of access points, and if you stay more south, there’s less people. However, keep in mind that given the location in comparison to the residential buildings, this beach gets shady pretty early.
