I visit about once a month, they have a surprising variety of stock, everything I have needed has been competitively priced, and there always seems to be a friendly person within arms reach to help find what I'm looking for.

Customer service on point. Staffs are verykvery and ready to assist with a smile. There are some very hard working people. Store has a wide selection of stuff. You can pretty much check online before going in there. Prices are bit high compared to competitors, but I still go there for convenience and friendly staffs.

I walked in with some mangled ratchet straps this morning. I had bought them years ago but they were in rough shape. Was hoping to save a few bucks and avoid replacing them if I could help it. I was hopeful the team had some expertise figuring out how to get them unraveled and straightened out. Bill and the store owner's husband (who happened to be paint-shopping at the time) set to work assisting me without any hesitation. They took considerable time and patience to get the straps sorted and even went as far as to show me a few tricks on using them! Very grateful and happy customer as always - six stars!

This is a smallish store but they carry a good variety of items. The staff are always available (don't have to go looking) and very helpful and pleasant. There is some parking provided but not a lot. Fairly good pricing.

I've had two experiences here now where I was given the complete wrong product for the simple project need: one was a spraypaint to cover plastic and the other was a glue that would work with the tape I was also purchasing. I explained my project both times and was assured the products would work. The paint didn't and I didn't bother returning it as I'd used the whole thing. A few weeks later I got the glue and returned it the next day after it complely failed. I explained my issue to who I assume was in charge, though he clearly gave no care whatsoever. He informed me that the associates were not versed specially in glue chemistry and was incredibly dismissive. I asked of they had any basic training for their departments and he said no, they don't do that there. This store is literally less than 200 metres from my home and I'll be taking my business to literally anywhere else.

This place has quite a selection. Whether one needs gardening supplies, hardware, or housewares, there is a selection of each. The staff are very helpful, although sometimes it is difficult to find someone to help because it does get very busy here. Sometimes it is difficult to find out what price an item is because it does not have a price tag or a sign on the wall and it can be difficult to find someone to price check it. If it is gardening supplies that you are after, this place works well in concert with Gardenworks across the street. They take the Aeroplan card here for points.

Sold me a used, damaged ladder. Manager said they “arrive like this”, but my guess is that they used it around the store and still just sold it. Had literal foot prints of mud on it. Doesn’t stand straight, is bent (which of course I didn’t notice until I got home). Pretty horrendous customer service at this location.

Home hardware in Oak Bay is much larger on the inside than its outside appearance - and it's chock full of everything from yard and garden supplies and tools to houseware and gadgets, not to mention a good selection of power tools. When you first enter, it's a bit overwhelming, but the staff are friendly and helpful in finding what you need.

While I am willing to pay for a bag when I forget my own, this Home Hardware store refuses to provide bags with handles for its disabled customers. I walk with a cane and I can't carry a bag without handles. When I asked the store if they could order a supply of bags with handles for customers who need them a manager told me that was "impossible ".

This business is close to my home, the staff is FANTASTIC, very welcoming and always wanting to help. Further I am quite impressed on how they are doing during COVID-19 to protect both staff and clients. There has also been no "price gouging" on essential items, as I have seen with other big chain stores. Supporting local businesses is essential, they are the heart of our community. Way to go HH staff . P.S. My dog loves the treats....

Has most merchandise required to maintain a residential home. Parking is an issue, but the store does have several parking spaces reserved for customers of the store. Red Barn Grocery Market is located in the same block, so it is convenient to do your grocery shopping at the same time. Shell Gas Station just down the street, as well as an upscale coffee shop and the upscale Oak Bay Bicycle store being just across the street towards Foul Bay Rd.

Paint is terrible, had to apply 3 or 4 coats to cover a surface. Staff also mistinted some of the paint and would not provide a refund when I tried to return it. This was a big waste of my time, I would definitely by paint elsewhere next time

They had some of the things i needed, but there selection of nuts and bolts is limted and the electrical component fell apart minimal use, and i had to return it. On the plus side, i had brought the wrong receipt and the cashier was nice enough to take the return as it was and gave me my refund on a gift card.
