The lady who works in the eggs area (July 27, 3.30pm) is so disrespectful! She came to us and told us that we are required to wear a mask, (I understand that) she was told that we cannot wear one! And she rolled her eyes! There are people with many reasons and many other medical exemptions! It's not okay to judge someone! It's supposed to be the guy's in the entrance work to do not and not others workers business! And even then, it should be in a respectful and not degratory manner. Maybe start selling a new T-Shirt - I have medical exemptions P.s I don't need to explain everyone what my situation is!

Eh. It's so and so. I definitely don't find this walmart a happy place or friendly place. The workers there just ain't friendly. Not to mention, the "insta cart" employees shopping for others. Pure ignorance and in the way. They're down every single isle and getting in the way. One employee cutting me off and then stopping right in front of me another who cant wait till I've moved, grabbing food from shelf right in front of me. This is why I take another star off.

Workers weren't wearing masks properly while stocking and bring pallets of merchandise out, wearing it around his chin until I said something then letting it fall off his nose 1 minute later and leaving it like that for half an hour. It is a pandemic and I know they are paid barely over minimum wage but you'd think walmart would atleast employ people who respected theirs and the customers health.

Low or no stock on a lot of items we went there for. Layout was interestingly set up. Some things are very far apart. We didn't find everything we went for. We ended up at our local north Walmart Supercenter anyway, where we found the staff more helpful too. We did get some great dishes however so it wasn't a total waste of time. Helpful staff....lost 20 minutes of my day with a mis-priced item at self check out. Remove these machines.... every time I use them there is always a human to assist....and they usually have to. I was in store early and it took some time for a human to help.... then it took her 15 minutes to sort it out. I estimate you have a 20% fail rate. And while 80% success may look good on a balance sheet...the issues the 20% fails cause, erodes your customer's confidence. I will not use them again and almost left your store before checkout over a $1 price difference. Store was clean...I found everything I needed... up until checkout I was a very pleased customer.

So disappointment today! I was wondering why they don't carry the large Nescafe instant coffee anymore. So I saw a clerk in a aisle. Hi sir do you still carry the Nescafe Instant coffee and he held his mask close to his face and very Rudley said NO. Then went back to what he was doing. I just wanted to know why or could you find out if you can get it. So ya I walked away right away because he obviously did not want to help. So HEY WAL-MART what the heck. Maybe remind your employees that having customers heĺp you keep your job but if your rude. Then forget it I'll go to the superstore.

I love the fact that this is Supercentre. I can pick up some grocery items at the same time as other house hold essential I may need. There is also a McDonald's in here, so it is great to get our little girl an ice cream to eat in the cart while we shop - win - win. Friendly cashiers as well.

This place has great selection, they added everything to earn their "supercentre" ststus, but they never renovated the store, ending up a cluttered stored, the rows are super narrow, two carts can barely fit next to each other, but the staff is amazing! One of the big grocery shopping store in Thunder Bay. Almost everything including international stuffs are available in the store. Even though most of the workers are friendly there are lot of weird employees, making troubles. But Overall shopping experience was good..!

It is a Walmart, but it's not even up to their standards. Store is extremely unkept and disorganized. Staff either don't care or simply cannot keep up with maintaining displays outside the grocery area. The small appliances area was a prime example as can be seen in these two photos. Dozens of boxes had been opened and rifled through. The entire section looked like this. On one visit, I watched several people waiting in the Cosmetics section. They had paged an associate several times to be able to access locked products. Several left after waiting 15 minutes and complaining to a manager. Eventually a staff person arrived... but keeping people waiting 20 minutes or more is not acceptable anywhere else.

It is a walmart. Unlike the USA our walmart does not carry liquor or cigarettes. It is smaller and has less product than Walmarts in the USA. But usually a one stop shop if you need a little of this and a little of that. Huge parking lot. Sometimes RVs and campers will set up for the night while on the road. Seems like a general walmart thing that they seem to allow. Staff is friendly (I am here more than I like to admit) Isles are a little narrow when moving through with a cart. Macdonalds inside, automotive service centre, optomatrist, and passport and family photos. Like I said. It's Walmart. They probably got what you need.

The best Walmart in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. The store layout is better than the claustrophobic aisles earlier, the same improvements that Walmart is doing all over Canada. It’s the only Supercentre in Thunder Bay that has a decent deli, meats, bakery and cooked food sections. The entrances are poorly lit and the entrance areas are messy, thus 4/5 instead of 5/5.

The layout needs to be revisited. Employees do not follow the traffic arrows in the aisles. While being restocked, some of the display fridges and breads section end up being cramped so that social distancing is nearly impossible.

Very bad experience his morning! All the express tills have been removed and replaced by self check out. There is no room to put your items after scanning them, you have to put them directly in a bag.....nothing to hold your bag in place! This is not an improvement but a step back! You definitely do not want to gain more or keep your existing customers! At least at another superstore in this city, where you have to bag your own groceries, there is a belt, lots of room to place your items! This is awful.......

The only thing at all wrong with this location is on the busy days it's really hard to get a cab. Also if you want what's on sale you better get there early before it's all gone. They have gotten better with more cashier's & tils open, so the lines are NVR so long now. But the cashier's are the out of town type who talk to each other in another language & u NVR know what they're saying + NVR smile. Other than that it's still the best Walmart.

Amazing company, amazing variety of goods and services, great location. The only downside I have had with this location is the security team. They are embarrassing themselves... they have chased me out of the storefront twice for absolutely no reason; one time I walked away from the cashier and left the store... they chased me and asked me to open my bag...I asked them what there where doing, they said I stole something, so I showed them my receipt, then they left. The second time I walked in and got a cash back from the cashier and left...they came running out chasing me to my father's truck claiming I stole something. Ridiculous...both times I walked away from a cashier. They look like a bonkers and clueless security team. I'm an engineer and a Christian! Why would I steal?

*I'm editing this review to thank Walmart for making more positive changes to this location, since I wrote this review. They brought back the greeter and have seemingly expanded their staff to present a more multi-cultural approach. Thank you and I feel more comfortable shopping there again.* Previously I was concerned about security replacing greeters and affecting the overall atmosphere, making returns difficult or when you brought your own cloth bag. I'm glad things are more positive now.

The store layout, customer service, and product selection are all fine. Prices are good. However, not wanting to sound indelicate, the employee B.O. factor has gone from nil to almost unbearable over the last year or so. While I understand a no-scents policy from an allergy perspective, employees should be encouraged to be clean and wear some form of deodorant. Based on my visits during December 2018 Christmas shopping and Sunday, January 20, 2019, the employee underarm stink is tremendous and, literally, enough to cause vomiting. This is why I only shop here once every 6 to 8 weeks on average. (I used to come in once a week or more.) The workers are very industrious, friendly and helpful, but this aspect needs to be mentioned in some fashion and, as an admittedly sensitive subject, I hope it can be addressed in a constructive and considerate manner. Having said that, I'll probably be in and out again in March. (P.S. Customer B.O. levels seem to be holding steady.)

If you are ordering online but live out of town, don't. I tried three times to order groceries and all were canceled even though calls were made and the third time especially I was told it should work. It asks for billing address of the credit card so no, I'm not going to lie just so your system and manager sees a Thunder Bay address. I live in Pembroke ON and I am visiting my mom in Thunder Bay ON with my husband, pregnant and hungry. All they did was cancel by email, not even call to verify and offered ten dollars off if I made an account. No, I need food so why not enter the groceries manually and charge my credit card? I did not suggest this though as we had wasted enough time and they did not feel very accommodating. I do not wish to go in the store at this time due to the pandemic, I do not want to risk my elderly mother's life. There are two new cases of covid now in TBay. It had been a couple days of trying so my husband went to the Superstore. Anywho, hope the system gets sorted out at least so people can actually order food more safely during this pandemic when out of town. And for anyone saying I shouldn't travel, I drove and take all precautions including the covid test before hand. My mom lives in the country by herself and my summer visits are also to help with house and property maintenance:)

Number one I've asked managment if they would be willing to get items in that they dont have and they flat out said no. Two personal bad experance. one of the people I assume a manager decided to kick me out of the store when it closed. when I was waiting for a cab in freezing weather while only wearing shorts. With snow flying. She said I can wait outside around the corner. How generous.. not all staff are this rude but this one in perticular was out of line. Also as a side note stop charging for shopping bags years ago it was decided they where going to charge a little more for goods to have the convenience of bags. Feels like you dont care about your customers at all. And trying to save the enviroment is complete lies. The packaging you sell your products could be reduced to fix this. Who needs a cardboard box for cereal when it comes in a bag.

Tried the free grocery pickup thing. Supposed to call a number when you arrive and they'll bring them out to you and you're supposed to park in designated places. I initially couldn't find the designated spaces so I figured I'd call and they'd tell me. So I called the number and it just kept ringing, no-one answered. Kept trying and waiting for 20 minutes, it was a busy time of day so I was patient. After 20 minutes though I figured I would just park in the parking lot and go in and get it. They must be busy. They seemed frustrated with me that I didn't call the number... But eventually they took my order # and told me they would meet me at customer service shortly. I've now been at Walmart for an hour and I still don't have my groceries, figured I'd write this while I wait. If they didn't already take my money I would have just gone and done the grocery shop on my own by now.... Also, I'm hard of hearing, normally not a problem cause I can watch lips, but with covid and masks I really struggle understanding people with heavy accents and they seem frustrated with me over it. I didn't generally shop at Wal-Mart before, will definitely boycott now. Still here waiting, wish me luck.

Purchased many visa gift cards for my staff at this location. At the till, the worker 'helping' brought me to the customer service desk. Informed me some weren't scanning properly and switched them out. A week later, one of my employees informed me that their gift card wasn't working. Returning to this location with the problematic card and receipt, I spoke to the manager on duty and was met with destain and accosted for my inquiry. Thankfully, it was only the single $100 visa gift card that was stolen. Decidedly, this is unacceptable behaviour for an employee as well as a belittling response from the manager with whom I spoke.

What is the point of selecting a time slot for grocery pickup when they never bring your stuff out on time. Today we got there at 5 o clock to pick up our grocery. Upon arrival, we checked in and the guy on the phone said “about 10 to 15 minutes.” Now, I understand they were busy but there were people coming in half an hour after us and they were leaving with their grocery. It took over an hour for us to get our stuff. No shopping basket at the entrance. This has happened several times at this location. Also, they don't clean & sanitize their shopping carts.

Do not order online and ship to this store. Items will sit in the back for days and they won't let you pick them up, even when you show via tracking that it's been delivered to the store. Called to advocate for a person who has a disability with struggles with processing information and communication and needs extra time in interactions, before posting a public review. I was met with the same defensiveness and lack of willingness to listen the person described he experienced. Could not get a word in edgewise to explain the person's situation as the staff member was talking over me and interrupting. This company needs to train its staff to LISTEN and not be ableist. There was no need to treat the customer, who was expressing frustration with the staff's lack of listening skills as an aggressor. Stop interrupting and listen. Then discuss problem solving. Dec. 2019 Really bad service at the customer service desk, the store is dirty and unorganized,the till where I went to put my purchases, was so filthy, they don't wipe it down. It smells really bad in this store, like bad body oder or something, it was so bad I almost tossed my lunch. Not to mention just about every shelf had an unopen item that someone ate, or there was an open McDonalds coffee sitting on the shelf half finished leaving a stale stench of old coffee amongst the cloths. This is unacceptable, no customer should have to endure this.I hope we get a cosco. And I love Marshals.

Worst experience with Walmart Pharmacy @ Thunder Bay Memorial Store On Wed Oct 20,2021, my husband got a toothache and waited over ONE hour to got one prescription(i.e. ONE drug) Here is why??? #1. The lady took my husband's prescription is incompetent . She kept looking into the computer for a while, and told my husband" I don't know who to bill?" #2. Five more customers asked the same lady for help after my husband, Guess what??? She dropped everything she was working on (i.e. my husband prescription), and turned her back on my husband and help the other customers right away. #3. After the lady helped the other customers, she came back ,but still couldn't figure out WHO SHE SHOULD BILL TO???, she just kept my husband waiting for over ONE hour! Since She couldn't figure out the bill for over ONE hour, so my husband told her" let me pay for the bill and get it over lady" I contacted Walmart Canada via Facebook & Twitter on Oct 21,2021, their response" Rest assured. Kindly be informed that our store support team is working on resolving your pharmacy issue. Once it'll get resolved, they'll contact you by email Your patience is highly appreciated. Thanks for your understanding and have a great day !" Moreover, on Oct 23,2021. I spoke to the co-store manager Kirk over the phone regarding about my concerns, he apologized & mentioned that was the pharmacy's issue, and he would have the pharmacy to call me back. As of Nov 20, 2021. Almost a month from the incidence , NO response(call or email) at all. Walmart Canada just wants to brush me off!!! By the way, I also found out the patient info WAS INCORRECT on the official pharmacy receipt , let's sum up what was screwed up so far for the ONE-drug prescription: #1. A Wal-Mart like many others. I do find this one hard to get a shopping cart. They often seem to be out (3 out 4 visits, none). Maybe a coincidence. When I inquired about a cart to a young greater (2 seperated visits, 2 different young persons), they were content to shrug they're shoulders - not impressed. On the other hand I have inquired about certain product availability a few times and clerks went out of there way to either look for it, see availability or inquire with other staff/supervisor if they did not know the answer.

I usually find what I need and the staff members I've encountered are always helpful. I especially appreciated help from a girl named Beckie, and an older gentleman who worked on the till but did not have a name badge but both were great! Only complaint is the sketchy customers but really that isn't the fault of the store.

Purchased a few cans of Quality chocolates for Christmas gifts. When they opened the tins they had empty chocolate wrappers and lots of chocolates missing. The tins were completely sealed when I purchased them. I was livid! When I approached the “manager” as he calls himself ???? and he said that sometimes his staff gets hungry! What!! Then bring a lunch! He said I could go pick out a few more . The lack of concern and the fact they were Christmas gifts was of no concern whatsoever. Very poor store management.

Walmart.ca website is useless. You set your store but nothing is ever available. You cant access pricing or product availability. Demonstrates a store that cares nothing about its patrons or the communities it sues to force them to allow a walmart to be opened. Edited: What is the point of selecting a time slot for grocery pickup when they never bring your stuff out on time. Today we got there at 5 to pick up our grocery. Upon arrival we checked in and the guy on the phone said about 10 to 15 minutes. Now I understand they were busy but there were people coming in half an hour after us and they were leaving with their grocery. It took over an hour for us to get our stuff. No shopping basket at the entrance. This has happened several times at this location. Also they don't clean & sanitize their shopping carts.

Almost A-Z shopping needs are covered here. Grocery items, pharmaceutical items, clothing, electronics, Dvds, home & kitchenware is available. Also this is the only place found to be have all kinds of sim cards including public mobile sims(Anyhow, their stock was over in my visit). Prices are not so cheap compared to other supermarkets in Castlegar. But prices are competitive in Nelson. This is located inside chahko-mika mall. Wheel chair accessible.

Was alright, some items were not available. Had a problem with cashier would not accept a gift card said it had to come from Walmart, you should teach all your young staff about gift cards and how to redeem on their tills. Went elsewhere and had no problems.

Do not trust the in store advertised prices they are often wrong the staff will wait until you checkout then approach you "explaining" YOUR mistake using their barcode. You either pay more or stand in line to get refunded. Don't bother calling customer service they direct you to an email address that's not monitored other help email addresses return undeliverable There is no customer service no complaint line regardless of their advertising the prices on items in this store are notoriously wrong almost every visit your charged double for an item more than the shelf price. They will sight tiny hand written initials on barcodes dictating sale rules your supposed to see Instead of honoring the price they make you the bad guy and while you stand at customer service they send an employee to go fix the mistake very shady For instance sign says $3.97 over wrapped flats of sports drink the barcode on the outside says $3.97 it scans through you pay and then you are stopped like a shoplifter because you were supposed to know it was $3.97 for 4 Mary Elizabeth will be sure to point out your error as she treats you like a criminal while her employee runs back to do his job albeit to late. Never mind the employee saw you check the price on their price checker (twice to be sure) walk to the checkout, pay while he and a supervisor stand and watch, get the receipt then as your about to leave nail you like a common criminal. This stores customer service is abysmal, their phone complaint line forces you to an e-mail address that's a dead end so its the ultimate flip off Dont shop here

Too much foreign produced, poor quality merchandise. Will avoid this store like covid 19 Variant D from now on...or until Walmart becomes a local product vendor. I only gave Walmart one star because they didn't give me zero for an option. Please make your business prioritize local and environmental and ill shop with you again. A Tough ask when all of your merchandise is poor quality plastic bases and made with child labor.

I went into Walmart on Saturday morning to grab a couple of things. So I go to check out and you only had 2 yes 2 check outs opened. I hate your self check outs and I will not use them ever. If I wanted to check out my own groceries I would work at a store. Unless you want to give me a 50 percent discount, then be glad to do my own. Close those self check outs down. Higher more people support you're community as we support you.

Well now.....masks are mandatory! All good with that! Walmart in their wisdom turned all checkouts mall side into self checkout.....no thank you I don't work there! Apparently neither does the fellow at the stands! A few of us were slightly confused with the changes and he just stood watching until I spoke up and asked what was going on! He then informed us all self checkout.....I guess the other cashier's were busy at the luau/ BBQ in the outdoor plant section. So basically Walmart is Walmart.... this particular one is in a spectacular lake front location.....so there's that!
