Nice place for dinning

There wasn't much of a wait and it was relatively busy when we arrived. The actual space is simple with booths and tables. Food was a 4/5 but the service was disappointing. If you get the dark haired waitress you're in luck, as she's not bad! If you get the front end manager, sorry for your luck. She was fighting with the owner and it didn't stop there. It's quite obvious she doesn't like her job... Disappointed!

Great food!!! Unwelcoming staff..... go here quite often but its definitely not for the service. What they lack In etiquette they make up for in yummy fish ^_^/ Perhaps the staff need a raise? Or their management is terrible? Do they even get their tips ? Retail and the service industry can drain a person (believe me I know), customer after customer, so much demand for what seems like such little reward....but it's hard to want to visit there, it's hard not to take it personal, its definitely harder to leave a tip ( but do ) hopefully in hope's the attitude can some what change.... Burn out is all too real, and although I can sympathize, it's harder on the business. Not many people are as forgiving ... Either way these poor servers hate you the minute you sit down and it shows ..... We just really love the fish ♡

The food was decent. The basa tasted good. It was my daughter's first time at a Joey's and she loved the fish. She wanted more but only one came with the kids meal. They gave her a huge bowl of fruit which I mostly ate for her. We were both full by the end. It was good.

Haven't been there in a long time . It was an all around mess . Waitress couldn't speak English nearly at all and couldn't follow basic instruction . I sat in a booth and the seats are worn to ribbons . The fish is not what I remember from years ago . It was 2 inches wide , 1/4 inch thick and 8 inches long and tough , so freezer burnt ? Comical . I asked if there was a lunch special and she said NO . Came home , looked on the website and there is . Good one ......

Went in and was served right away. Fish was good size and the fries seemed freshly made. Service was very quick. Less then 5 minutes. Wish the slaw was a larger portion for what you pay. Nothing really outstanding about the taste of either the fries or fish. Maybe I'll ask for some Cajun spice next time. Kinda bland. Fish battar was crunchy, ill give them that. 5 stars for the service, 2.5 stars for the fish. Fries weren't anything special. They were hot and crunchy but pretty ordinary for taste. Was told the fries are unlimited but I'm watching my diet so I didn't take advantage of that.

Customer service is kind and prompt. The food portions are generous, the dishes however should have more flavor than it does. I have been to to restaurants that don't specialize in seafood and enjoyed the flavour much much more.

Honestly it's a good thing the food is good! The staff and restaurant environment do not feel welcoming at all. The menu kind of sucks, if someone has an allergy to some ingredient avoid this place as they cannot make customized orders. This even goes to ordering the family platter, unlike ANY OTHER restaurant they will not make any substitutions for the coleslaw. I suggest the restaurant looks into making substitutes and customized orders. They would then easily get 4 or 5 star rating.

I would give a minus 5 star if I could. Order online and you find your phone locks onto the monaris pay section. Took almost an hour to get control of my phone. Call the store to complain and they hang up. No offer of reason. Clearly have no idea of their system and no access to resolve issues. They have good food but I will never use them again nor will I promote them.

I enjoy Joey ' Seafood Restaurants - normally. My visit this time was a big put me off. I sat watching the waitress standing - looking at the computer screen when another customer got up from her table and approached her asking if she could take her order ! She took the one ladies order then went back to computer screen watching. I was aware of two other tables that were waiting to have their orders taken at the time so decided to give her two more minutes to at least take the other table orders - she didn't so I got up and left. No I very much think Joe's in the Hat will not be visited by me again.

This was my second time going for the all you can eat fish tacos on Thursday. After the first time I was skeptic to come back given how poor the service was. The food was incredible both this time and last, however unfortunately there didn't seem to be much change in the service. Great price, great food, definitely worth five stars, but front end manager really brought down the experience.

Menu is limited to what it was years ago...I hadn't been to Joeys in over 15 years. Tables were sticky and the place seemed a bit...tired, but not terrible. Food was average for average cost, but our server was great!

I guess a new server had been walked out on by a trainer of four years service, but she maintaned and served an almost full restaurant, now the food is great if you want fish n chips only, other than that gyoza's way over cooked, blackened basa blan!

Let's just say it wasn't the same I found the fish was way to oily and the SERVICE was very poor, I was the only person in the place so you would think that they would get my order right 3times before it was! Needless to say I will not be going back!????

Cost here has become too much to eat here any more. They don't carbonate the pop, it's always flat. My son ordered the fruit bowl with his meal and it was a bowl of pineapple with a few melon bits in it. The fish is delicious, but won't be back as the cost is too much. A lunch for myself and my 4 yo exceeded $30 without any appetizers or adult beverages. I'm very sad to leave this review, as I do really like the fish.

I am very disappointed that they cannot take the time to do home made french fries. Now that would make it a fish and chip shop and fantastic. The prices have gone up for the quality of food. the only thing we like and go in quit often for is the fish. We get the two piece and the fish portion is great but as I said the fries are disgusting and the coleslaw is not what it should be. The staff should have a dress code. the girls in their short shorts do not belong in the family fish and chip shop. They belong in a bar. But of course we will continue to go just for the fish.

My wife and I both had the 2pcs (pollock) and chips with coleslaw. The cost wss $16 each. The portions of fish on my plate were a little on the smaller size and kind of skimpy on the fries. However the fish tasted fresh and was cooked well not overdone.

Newly renovated, new owners, new updated menu items, and new staff!! Been there numerous times since the updates and it has been a great experience. The food has been delicious, the staff has been friendly, great customer service, nice clean establishment and good price for the amount food you will be served! If you ate here before the new owners took it over and were displeased, please give it another try now! You won't be disappointed! Definitely made my top 5 places to eat in Medicine Hat.

This is the second time that I’ve tried to go for all you can eat. Both times I walked away WITHOUT ANY FOOD!!! Last time was because they decided to change their closing time, and it was 7.30 so they weren’t serving any more. (Where most places will still take orders up until the time that they lock the doors). Tonight we were told that it wasn’t ‘all you can eat’ because apparently one of their fryers were down (they were still selling 3piece fish for $15, you just weren’t allowed to get all you can eat?!?!). I won’t ever be going back. What’s the point when you always walk away disappointed!! *I would have preferred to give only half a star, or possibly a negative star, but that wasn’t an option*

Where to start. Terrible service sat there for almost 15 minutes without even drinks(no one was in the restraunt). Food was terrible I've had a better burger from a gas station . All I can say is don't waste your time or money on that place pathetic.
