This is very well stocked store with a good variety of items. I am new to town and it has been nice to be able to just rely on this one store for all our needs. The staff has been really helpful and friendly when needed. Special shout-outs to the chatty cashier from Newfoundland that let me know about the pineapple and lime Crush from the east coast and Jocelyn in pharmacy who was super patient, nice and helpful when I was switching my prescriptions from another pharmacy on a Sunday morning. Since I work from home I don’t get to interact with people in person very often and trips to this store are a highlight of the week.

The real upside to the price is that it is almost never really busy here, you can run in and run out. They also have a much larger variety of healthy options apposed to your usual easy food options.

The prices may not be the cheapest in town, but they have a great selection of fresh produce. More importantly, though, it somehow manages to avoid the zombie hordes of Superstore and Costco. Instead of being trapped in thick stampeding crowds, you can actually get your shopping done here in a reasonable amount of time. To top it all off, they even trust you with your grocery carts, not requiring a coin down payment to secure one.

Pricing can feel average to above average. Sale prices can feel like regular prices at time. Store is well managed by a variety of staff, all within presentation range with minimal enclosed rooms/areas. This creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Great, lush variety in stock, from meats, seafood, bakery, produce, and dairy. Large bulk section, too.

As one of two grocers in a small town, I think Save-On does a good job balancing their pricing & sales. We don't shop at Save-On as often since No Frills opened, but we still get prescriptions filled at the excellent pharmacy in the store (which usually means we take care of part of the grocery shopping while we wait, just for convenience). The store is bright and nicely laid out, and offers lots of choices in food products when compared with the sometimes limited selection at No Frills. Save-On's fresh produce section is larger as well.

Very disorganized, poorly run, very dusty & dirty in the water filling section, not enough produce to match their sales fliers - & U can return up to 4 times, for things advertised on sale - & those products are still not there!!! One entrance is virtually blocked with displays that could be/ should be set up in a much more appealing & accessible way. Considering this store is in Canada, it's set up like it's in a 3rd world country. In it's day, this store used to have competitive sale prices, be clean, & well run. The best - & only thing good about this store, is it's friendly staff...esp Jim, who went out of his way, to try & satisfy this disgruntled customer!! The staff need to keep smiling, bcuz this is the only - & best tjing about this 'store'!!

I didn’t get why this name? Save on food with ridiculously high prices? Even with discount prices are higher than highest price in any store where you don’t save on food. For such prices they could at least change old nuts sometimes, as you can’t check the due date, bringing it home, and it’s stink like those nuts overdue minimum a year. I thought it was clean, had everything I needed. Bakery and prepared foods wasn't awesome, or feeling real fresh, but it was good enough for on the go healthier food options. They have a full service grocery store, with a lot of extras. The staff seemed to be quite helpful and nice. I thought the store looked in really good condition and I liked the familiarity I felt when compared to other Save On Foods in my hometown. It was just like home, and it's always a comfort when a store, out of province, is the same as back home. We certainly have more prepared foods to go though. Definitely I'd be back. Good job Save On ????

Thanks 4 the self checkouts ???? In such a small town, Most of the women don't like me because I stand up 2 others! I'm sick of their pettiness and want to pray 4 them but Don't tempt me???? But I'm not at Save on, Kitimat for others I'm there because there are other wonderful employees at this grocery store ???? With this said, I love self checkout!????????????????????
