If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience of my life. The manager at this branch is so rude. This girl needs an attitude check. NEVER BANKING WITH SCOTIABANK AGAIN AND I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME. ALL they care about is your credit score. To them you are just a number
5 Star Rating to Saryna Montes at the Estevan Branch. She is always so cheerful and quick - her sunny disposition brings the environment so much positivity. Keep it up!!
i went in to make two different loan payments and left thinking they were both paid. however the next week i got a call saying one wasn't paid. i then called the branch to figure it out. they called back and we figured out that there were mistakes on my end (i didn't count my money properly)and on their end (they took money from my loan to pay another loan without permission), they said there was nothing they could do about it except for me to be more careful and for them to do more training. they called me back about 10mins later telling me that they would pay the payment that was meant to be paid. we all make mistakes but i am grateful for the payment from scotia as i am waiting for my sick benefits to come in and could not afford to replace the payment! ( this was also done with the help of an edmonton branch)
Just try to phone ,with the right extension number on hand and STILL you never get through. Or you leave a message as you're prompted and NEVER get a callback. I guess the bank must be doing really well to not take an interest in someone looking for a mortgage??? Maybe we'll get someone reaching out once we choose to move our money elsewhere
Unfriendly atmosphere and staff. Only used this place a few times, to deposit into a 3rd party account. It's as if you should be ashamed if you're not their customer!
Super great service :)
Shelly is awesome and knowledgeable always a pleasure
Unfriendly staff. Have had multiple bad experiences to the point I switched banks :(
I have been trying to get through for hours and a call centre in Pakistan is as far as I have gotten. Has the banking sector been in such bad shape lately that branches can't hire receptionists? The sad thing is that it takes forever to get through to Pakistan and they can't even help me. The good thing is that they give me the local branch phone number so I can do it all again.
The staff I know at the branch is very professional. Special shout out to Rosemary Stadnyk Manager. I had several questions re my account and some transactions I made. Within a few days Rosemary was able to answer all my questions. I deal with numerous banking institutions in the Niagara region and Rosemary is among the best banking official I have dealt with. Scotiabank should be very proud to have such a great representative there to assist with customers needs Rosemary it what customer service is all about.Whovevewr promoted her to her current position should get a raise....might want to consider giving her one too . Scotiabank Port Colborne ROCKS....got to mention Amie...my favorite teller at the branch...she gets it as dose everyone else there....keep up the great service..
The People that works at the bank is friendly and sweet people
low interest rate
I enjoy going to this bank. I am always greeted with a smile, when there is a lineup there is someone who approaches everyone to see if she can help. Staff are always friendly.
I got my first debit card there!!
I am customer of this bank before coming to canada, i never feel dissatisfied with the service , overall good service , easy access to the ATM all over canada,i would recommend every international student , must go with the scotia bank .
Two months ago I took in a $50,000 bank cheque to get an iTrade account set up. Today two months later I had my regular financial institute cancel the bank cheque. It has one issue after another. First and last dealing with this branch and Scotiabank.
this is actually hilarious how hard it is to get on the phone with the local branch. three different phone numbers and no luck. this really is bad service.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Banking here is probably typical of most Canadian Banks: very little interest on your money and mortgage rates higher than a broker. I was not impressed by customer service person name Jhane Mendoza B. She had terrible advice and really knew nothing about Canadian Customs and Practices. Scotia Bank needs to revisit their Code of Conduct with Jhane…deception is probably not part of their Code, yet Jhane seemed to think it ok to use deception to gain influence and sell services.
Not always the best service.. And the place is kinda sketchy with all the break ins
Nothing but helpful. Just mad that I didn't switch to Scotia sooner.
Go screw yourself with your computer answering service
Robyn Smith is "Our Pride" and "Gem' from Newfoundland. She is an amazing person, very sparky, honest and very professional. she really saved us a lot of money from Her honest recommendation. I feel finally there is someone honest advisor in Fortmcmurray. She is very funny but professional and i highly recommend Her for honest advice.
Closed at 3pm brutal
I feel sorry for anyone that ever has to contact this branch. You cannot get a hold of anyone unless you physically go in and they also make changes to your account without notifying you.
Very friendly staff and open later on thursdays
Great service, fast and friendly. two ATM and multiple tellers for fast service.
Absolutely impressed with the bank tellers at this location They are helpful, knowledgeable and fun !
Trying to help elderly client of Scotiabank is IMPOSSIBLE! Cannot ever get anyone to answer a phone.
They miscounted my money.
Hate the fact you can't reach your own branch and that the bank hours are the most inconvenient.
Good bank, fairly quick tellers.
Good bank, girlfriend loves it. I went to open an account, but had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment, so I went with BMO.
Awful service, demonstrate very little flexibility in their appointments and service, Impossible to contact someone by phone at the branch. Given the variety of choices amount financial institution I would expect better services, taking my business elsewhere
I would give them 0 stars if I could. Terrible customer service. LIke other reviewers, good luck getting ahold of anyone on the phone! Their 'Senior Financial Advisor' was/is so junior that she wasn't authorized to sell mututal funds and couldn't even answer basic questions about my investment statement.
Awsum service.. very friendly staff..
Closed for no reason today. Big time let down when needed the most! Beware of Scotia.
Disgusting , unhelpful and ignorant teller , stay away ,try one of the other branches, much more helpful ppl ,this branch should be closed and the tellers fired.better suited to make coffee! They would probably screw that up too.
Closes at 3pm. Terrible bank.
Can't give a zero star review or I would. Tried to get a check certified from a different Scotia branch - the money was in their account but the manager said that I would need to drive 4 hours to the issuing branch to get it certified. I have certified many checks from people at all the major banks and NEVER had a problem (by the way they are all cheaper to certify than Scotia bank). I did not realize Scotia Bank is not computerized fully. It appears it would be best not to accept checks from Scotia Bank in the future. Hopefully they someday upgrade their service to this century.
This is the only branch worth going to. The other ones are poor service.
Good luck trying to talk to a local representative and get past the ridiculous automated phone menu. I tried 3-4 times and keep getting routed to irrelevant suggestions.
Depends on who is working here. I changed from a different branch and ended up changing back. But the branch I am with now, other than my personal advisor isn't pleasant to visit
I guess phones exist there just to go unanswered.
staff does not know how there own products work ( visa, balance transfer)
Exceptional customer service, professional & compassionate.
Can't even get a person on the phone at the branch, just directed to an annoying automated answer service that then when you finally get a person on the phone it's a call center and they tell you you need to speak to branch!
Jan has best service mind. I am happy every time I come to her. Friendly, helpful and great service :)
I thought that I'm experiencing an exceptionally disastrous service. After checking out some of Google reviews, I realized that I'm not alone and could have rated their service 0 if there was such an option .The receptionist does not seem to have any clue about the standards of customer service and appears miserable as if she is forced to do her job and not paid at all. The so called "Senior financial advisor" and "customer experience lead" who also claims to be an assistant manager would not survive a day in their current role had they lived in major cities where customers are well respected and the purpose for which they went to the bank is timely addressed. I do not really regularly go to banks and do everything I need online. The very poor service that I have witnessed in just two visits in a year at this bank and hundreds of negative reviews posted online makes me wonder what their corporate office and the manager at the bank have in mind to address the issue. Employees would not go rouge unless they are incompetent or are being led by an incompetent manager. I emailed the manager highlighting my concerns and disappointments and never heard back from him. Residents of small towns deserve the same level of service that these banks provide in major cities across Canada.
Absolutely the worst customer service on the planet through their phone system. Was calling to set up a bank account tried to get through to the branch 3 times and kept getting transferred to the wrong voicemail or get cut off completely. I WILL NEVER OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT WITH SCOTIA BANK EVER!!
Went there to use the ABM to pay my Visa. Machine went down before I was able to use it. Was waiting a minute to see if it would come back up as the branch wasn't open yet. One of the ladies inside, Rosemary seen my standing there and came out to let me know the ABM wouldn't restart for awhile and asked what I was trying to do. I let her know and she was kind enough to take my payment and process it during business hours so I wouldn't have to come back. Above and beyond service. She could've just told me to come back later. Thank you Rosemary.
I unlocked my LIRA account and the bank is taking forever to process it. This bank is slow at posting anything into your account.Very hard to get any kind of customer service. I am thinking about changing banks
0 customer service experienced!! This lady MURINA with Scotia bank was so rude..thanks! i guess i'll stay with someother bank!
Had a great experience this morning. Absolutely helpful staff!
Who is available to go to the bank from 930am to 3pm? Sweet Scotia
Nothing bad to say at all. Great bank and people. Even on the phone the wait times are short. Highly recommended.
Would give negative if possible. A teller at the Parry Sound location LOST a $30k cheque. Tellers refused to phone the manager, said they'd call us the next day as if it was no big deal. Two voicemails to the manager later with no reply and still waiting on that promised call re: where our money went! Because of their mismanagement and inexperienced staff Scotia has continued to withdraw monthly payments from my account. Entirely unacceptable, will never give Scotia another cent.
I think I get the reason the ATM is closed all evenings and on Sundays, but I wonder exactly what the point is of having one at all. Beyond that, there must be a letter way, for instance putting the machine outside and eliminating the vestibule altogether. My point is, having an ATM that's not open at night or weekends is just feather plucking stupid.
Not a great experience
impossible to talk to anyone who actually work at this branch
i have been a client to Scotiabank Fort St.John for years. over the christmas season this year i have found the doors have been locked leaving me and other clients no access to the bank machine inside that first door. any other time of the year the door has been open 24 hrs a day. i have been working during the day and cannot be at bank during day. is that not the whole point of a bank machine? not very impressed. i will be thinking of looking into moving to another bank as this is not satisfactory to me and a few others that i had spoken to
Super friendly staff, was able to easily make an appointment to set up my investment acccounts (where other banks didn't even give me the time of day). My advisor was fantastic and was willing to listen to all my concerns and helped me set up everything the best way possible to accomplish my financial goals
Don't try calling. It's horrible you won't get the branch. But the tellers are so friendly! Meghan is great! Everyone is knowlegable though.
Was a victim of fraudulent activity on my account and was made feel like a hardened criminal.. staff very judgemental and unfriendly.. deposited a check at the teller..a check that I have been depositing there for over 12 year's but still put a 5 day hold on my account... wouldn't recommend this bank to my worst enemy..
Ok if you like banking in the 80's
In branch the customer service is top notch. I can't say enough good things about the Estevan staff. However, trying to speak with someone on the phone is another story. I have never had luck getting connected with a representative from Estevan. Calls are forwarded to a call center and always turn into a confused mess.
For a billion dollar company or banking institution the disorganization is alarming. The online to the phone agent and the actual teller... No one has a straight answer. Its shameful
No atms at night
My husband received an $1800 Scotia bank check from a gic that matured from Scotia bank. The Port Colborne branch of Scotia Bank held the check for 5 days and would not give him any money to pay his bills. Time to close accounts there for sure. Avoid this bank at all costs.
Closes at 3pm, during the work week, that's handy...No Saturday teller service...Time to find a new bank that caters to working people I think.
The branch people are great but fees are extremely high and phone numbers all go to call centers with terrible wait times.
Some of the most stuck up staff I've ever met, walking in as a male into this bank made me extremely uncomfortable. In todays society it seems the females at this feel like they have to take revenge out on males, and feel that they're better than men. Talk about a diverse and inclusive work place when all you see is mid 20's to early 40's white woman. Not only that, they were absolutely disorganized, their technology is far behind every other bank. The financial advisors I spoke with seem like the most stuck up, prude people. Honestly I will never bank with scotiabank again after dealing with them. There's always new people behind the counters and clearly for a reason because nobody wants to work with these people. They're rude, they're ignorant and absolutely dysfunctional. I'm told the pay is also not very high for the responsibility you have. So be aware the people handling your money don't get paid enough to care about you. I would never work here, I will never bank here, and honestly this bank has left a bad taste in my mouth altogether. I have a lot to say about this place and how it hurt me personally. Not professional at all. And just as a tid bit - why do all of your day-to-day checking accounts of transaction limits when no other bank does? I will be sticking with RBC thank you. I had a friend who worked their for a short time, and she said she regretted going there at all, if she knew what she was getting into she never would've accepted. There's definitely better banks in gander, and there's definitely people with better customer service, hell half of them don't even want to speak to you when you say something to them. They just rush through your transaction and boot you out the door. I like to know the people I bank with, and all this made me feel was I was unimportant to them.
Went here to get a mortgage and saw Gloria Saunders. She clearly had no idea what she was doing or how to spell because all of my information was incorrect when I went into the branch to do banking. On top of that, I got a notification from Equifax saying that Scotiabank (obviously her as she was handling all my account stuff) had changed my information and mailing address with the credit agencies. When I tried to speak to her about it she said it was my brokers fault (even though equifax notification specifically named Scotia bank). All this and I didn't even end up buying the house. Now I am having to jump through a bunch of hoops to fix this and it is taking a long time! I would recommend going somewhere that has a lower turn over rate for banking, like CIBC downtown branch. So very disappointed
The manager went beyond to help me.the best bank!!
This is my home branch. I have always had excellent service, and the facility is clean and accessible. There is also a drive-thru ATM.
Always a poor wait time , 30 minutes to close with a line up out the door and not even being able to do basic banking can be frustrating, only 1 teller struggles with a single person for an extended period of time is poor service ???? unfortunately I have not had good experience with this bank
I been with scotia they are the best place to get a bank account open they help alot even if your new to it they help alot and very friendly people
Great work
Always lovely staff!
Good service
